I gave it a one because I am comparing it to Sam's Club. This was my first time coming here, and I walked up to the register to order their infamous pizza and hotdog, and I was told that they only accept cash at the register near the counter, but no one told me that I could've walked to the area next to it to pay with my card, I believe they are overworked and the worker did not care to even tell me that I could pay for it with my card at the kiosk near the area.. like I said it was my first time coming here so I didn't know how everything worked and then people were waiting on their food and they didn't even think to tell me hey you could just go pay for it right there but hey, I guess people be trying to mind their business now. I am happy to say that the pizza was very delicious. I just wished they had some pepper flakes and some Parmesan to sprinkle on it like Sam's Club has. The hotdog was not my cup of tea, but it was nice and thick. I just I didn't like the flavor. It advertises on the screen that it comes with chopped onions, but no onions come on it. Also when you order a hotdog, it comes with a drink. I'm not sure if it was shown on the monitor, but I ended up with two drinks at the end and I asked the lady why do I have 2 cups and she said because a drink comes with a hotdog. It's interesting because when I ordered the hotdog, I did not see a hotdog and a drink on the screen, but maybe I just overlooked it once again I'm new to Costco. Next up, I ended up spending a money on food like the rotisserie chicken and some kind of jalapeño popper dip because I did not know I was gonna be able to purchase some pizza and hotdog's at the end of my shopping until I went through the cash register but the rotisserie seemed like it could've stayed in the oven a little bit longer cause it didn't seem like it was as well done as I like it. let's see what else, Costco doesn't have a lot of items to pick and choose from compared to Sam's Club, so I saw paper plates and there were no comparisons and I only had one option to choose from which was 14.99. Same with the plasticware, I got 380 pieces for $8.99 I believe. Next up, I tried to scan some items on the app. There was no option to scan to check prices and double check things. There was no signs for you to know what aisle you were on. You basically had to walk through the aisle find out where things were, very unorganized. What else? One of the workers scanned my basket of stuff before I got to the register and then told me to give the guy at the register My card information. I'm not sure if he ended up re-ringing everything all over again or if that person that scanned my basket helped to make the process faster, but like I said, I'm still new so I'm still trying to learn what's going on. What else? I actually used a friend's card to go in there and when I told him that I would be getting me a Sam's Club card because they're a little more organized he was like oh OK. Great savings but the brand has changed to a regular store and not specifically for businesses

I stopped at this location and found everything I needed and more. This location was clean, plenty of carts at the entrance, helpful employees, but busy location! An employee is standing behind the iPad ensuring the member's picture matches the member using the card. They make sure to put the popular items at the entrance as soon as you walk in. Costco typically has great deals. This location has a great produce, frozen, and fresh meat section. I enjoyed the multiple sample stations as well. On this particular visit, Costco had Dubai chocolate ice cream bars. This was an impulse buy, but I'm glad I bought it. They were so good! As long as Costco continues to stock this item, I will buy it every time. The ice cream is not too sweet. Before leaving they have two employees counting and checking your items on the ticket. The wait wasn't too bad for a busy day. If I'm in the area again, I would recommend this location. read more

I'm just honestly so happy that Costco decided to bring back their smoothies! It's something I didn't realize I missed so much until they were gone. I only visit about once a month, and when John is working it's always a pleasure to be greeted and ask how he's doing. If I don't see him, I often ask another associate. They too remark how much they like working with John. Today I sampled oat milk, and true to its origin, John gave a solid delivery of the benefits of Oat milk. I love Costco! This location was great, produce was fresh and the meat/seafood looked good. Although I arrived at opening (10AM) it was already super crowded! So I guess everyone else wasn't at church, like I expected. As soon as I arrived, I went to take my membership ID photo with Justin and he was awesome! Super nice, recommended some great finds and foods and quickly got us ready to shop. There were also a ton of great deals for electronics, snacks, etc. My only complaint? The checkout girl. I packed my cart, making sure that my produce and meats wouldn't get damaged and she pretty much threw everything back in the cart, not caring if my foods would get damaged. She also only provided me with one small box, when I requested some. She also hardly spoke, so perhaps she was in a crappy mood, but that's not my problem. I ended up going into the next lane after paying and requesting additional boxes. I was provided with around six good sized ones, being that I had a ton of food. So that made packing up the car and carrying everything in the house a lot easier. Besides the poor attitude check out girl, I have no complaints. This will definitely be my monthly go-to! read more

Sams v Costco: I have been a Sam's girl for many years! However, I thought I would try to give Costco a try and see if there is any hype to the madness or just another competing retailer. As you walk in you have the normal greeters at the door nothing crazy just like Sams. As you move on through the front entrance there is the TVs and electronics. I would not say the pricing is higher but about the same. What I did notice is there is a higher quality of items Costco sells not just your big brands but more mom and pop brands. This is not to say it is better, but worth giving a try. When it comes to the food they have fresh produce, frozen food, drinks, household essentials, pet food, and furniture. They also have a coffee grinder for grinding your whole bean coffee that I felt was pretty nice especially when purchasing bulk coffee. They also have a tire center and food court to catch a bite after your long shopping experience. All the food items are pretty reasonably priced and you get a lotta bang for your buck. I will say their pizza is pretty fresh and cooked well done. Would I have another probably so. Is there any difference with the Sam's version not I could tell. My trip was well worth it and the only reason why I did not give 5 stars is because I have not tried their clothing and other snacks they have to offer. Would I come again? The customer service. The lady at the glasses place told us in the rudest way that the store had closed there was a HORRIBLE smell of rotten eggs and cheese mixed together at the produce section. I've never smell anything like that except my dogs farts and my 14 years of living, which is not a good thing that is so nasty so I think y'all should get some better eggs and cheese because I think y'all's is expired but the kitchen is nice and I think y'all should just really work on your smell there because I almost threw up. Costco wholesale is not for everybody but if you find one of their distribution centers in your area I highly encourage you to go inside and look around. Much to my personal surprise Costco is about more than food. They also have appliances computers, jewelry and clothes. However, back to the food, you hear about the famous whole rotisserie chicken for $4.99 which they do have and it is good but I think the bigger bargain is a gigantic six or 7 inch hot dog, juicy and thick and 16 ounce cup of soda for $1.50. There are ridiculous savings scattered throughout the store. I'm not sure if the same items are always at giveaway prices all the time or they rotate but it's certainly worth your while to go in there more than once. Yes there is a $60 annual membership but I'm pretty sure on that first package of fresh chicken (35 or so for $8) and toiletries you can recoup that costs in no time at all. Before you sign up, be aware of a few quirks about this place - they only take Visa and cash, they don't put your things in bags. You have to take it in the cart and load it in your vehicle yourself and they have a wholesale liquor store adjacent to the food center. Happy pigging. read more

Was in Houston, TX for work and of course, I had to find the local Costco and see what awesome stuff they carry. I got to the warehouse around 6pm on a Tuesday night and it wasn't crowded at all so I was able to take my time and look at everything. I purchased two really neat items. Instant Jap Chae Noodle Bowl ($17): It had 6 bowls, 3.75 oz bowls. They were not very big but I still had to buy a box just to try it. It was very tasty and it tasted just like the dish that I would get at a Korean restaurant but it was nice to try the instant one just once. Bouchard Belgian Dark Chocolate ($12): it was 2.2 lb. with individually packages pieces of decadent dark chocolate. It was rich in flavor and not too sweet. I prefer dark chocolate than milk chocolate. I only bought one package, I could kick myself for not buying more. As always, I love Costco and I'm looking forward to visiting more. read more

Tire service. I walk in say I need the tires rotated on x. The guy (Victor) rudely says it's going to be 1 1/2 hours you're luck we had a cancellation so no matter what you're going to have to wait. I calculated the time because I'm on grandma pickup duty from school. Great that works out. Well I need you member number, ok the cars my daughters she has a membership too. Gets nasty than before well you need her license plate and membership number and I cannot take her photo. He talks to another member starts to walk out to the car area, the cars right there I say, nope you need to get it I can't. You mean you asked this guy behind me make model but not license plate. I get the plate number now he's really not happy. I provide him with the information, well it's still going to be 90 minutes before it's done. His attitude stunk of lazy, he tossed the paperwork on the counter "sign it" sure will, I said. I should have went to Discount Tire!!! I use them for 25 years now I remember why I don't use Costco tire service. My stepdaughter in L Vegas had issues with tire service there. It must be their management training approval. Part of the fun of going to Costco is enjoying the food court. Unfortunately, one staff member who works there has continued to ruin our experience with the worst customer service imaginable. I've seen this guy before. But only recently have I had issues with him. Last week I asked him if somebody could refill the onion machine so I could put some on my chili. 15 minutes later, they still hadn't done anything. If they actually had customers I could understand. But nobody was even in line. When I reminded him, noting that my chili was cold now, I just got a roll of the eyes and no response or action. When I asked him if I should talk to somebody else, like a manager, to help me with it, he mumbled something, turned around and left. So I went to get a manager to help me, and only then did this guy rush out and check on it. On my next visit, this same guy was working the cash register at the food court again. I made my order and saw him ring up a wrong item. I tried telling him but he ignored me and turned around to fill my order. I called to him several times and he just ignored me. Another worker then came to the register to correct the order. When he gave me my "very berry sundae" it only had one small section with berries on it (pic posted). It looked more like a very un-berry sundae. I asked him if we could have more berries on top and he replied "oh so you want extra berries". I replied I just wanted something that more closely resembles what's in the picture on their wall. Not extra than that. He then gave me a cup with one small strawberry in it. I asked the manager if my sundae looked normal and he said no. The manager offered to give me another sundae but I declined as that really wasn't the reason I raised the issue. It is the lousy customer service, coming from a single individual, who is tainting Costco's otherwise great reputation. As a member of Costco and Price Club before Costco, I am terribly disappointed in the 2020 Version of this store. In the past, the option Of generic or brand was always available. Nowadays, it almost all generic (Kirkland) brand. The Kirkland brand is inferior to Sam's Club house products. Also, bought some appliances from Costco And paid for extended warranty. Was treated as if I was a liar and told I have to wait for corporate approval, I will be canceling my membership. I have known Costco for it's respect for diversity and great costumes service but this location does not have any of the above. My husband was trying to pay for his items with his Costco membership and this tall Caucasian individual kept talking loud at him like if he couldn't understand English. My husband has an accent but I still found it deeply disrespectful to be talking to a costumer that way. I have been a loyal customer ever since this location opened... then flooded and the re-opened.... Maybe too loyal, as we routinely spend way too much money on a weekly basis. This location has been in a downward spiral for some time, but after my last trip I am definitely going to have to stop spending money here. Lackluster selection and now... samples are severely lacking. Let's be honest, we all want samples - this has been getting worse and worse lately. The vast majority of the sample people are lazy and have bad militant attitudes - no one put a gun to your head and made you take that job, you freely chose to get up that morning and go to work. Love everything about this location other than the optical department. Pharmacy is by far the best. I stopped using CVS because they took so long and their generics aren't as good. As far as optical department, they usually only have one or two people working and waiting in line is rather unorganized. Also, if I just want to order contacts or pick up my contacts, I have to wait until they help someone fit for glasses, which can take a while. I really think they should have two different options for ordering and picking up vs trying on an getting fit for their glasses. Get more than two people to work and be better organized. read more

Just leaving Costco and it wasn't a pleasant visit. I understand the new rules of the non-members vs. members but y'all take it too serious when at the end of the day the employees will get paid & the transactions are going to get paid regardless of who is paying. At checkout the cashier Jaime E. made it really confusing when it really wasn't, not sure if she thought we were incompetent but we fully understood what she was saying and she was rude about it too. I've worked in customer service before so I get it but just because you're having a bad day doesn't mean you have to take it on other people especially when we didn't give her a reason to. I've only started coming to this Costco location for a year or so. Maybe 4 times total. I've always been on edge since I've read several reviews regarding racial profiling at the door, etc. Fortunately for me I hadn't experienced any of it and had almost let my guard down completely until today. I walked in seeking two items. None of which were in stock but I managed to get several other items in my basket. I was in and at he register within 30 minutes. I was approaching the register when the first flag went up. Richard, a tall 6'+ Caucasian man was gleefully placing the items from the white family infront of me on the conveyor belt. He looked up and saw me and immediately turned around and walked away to the front of the registers. I left my 3 year old in the basket after personally placing all my items on the conveyor belt and watched as Richard coldly ordered my 3 year old daughter to turn around and steer clear of him as he placed my items in the basket. You may argue that it isn't his job to be nice and entertaining to my child but had you seen his interaction with the white child in the kart ahead of me you too would have noticed the difference. He couldn't stomach placing more than a couple of my items in my basket, of course. Just like earlier he walked away promptly so he wouldn't have to bother with us. Not a look, not an exchange of words, not a smile. I dare any supervisor/store manager/area supervisor to find footage where this employee is nice to anyone other than white patrons. It almost seemed like a blunt laugh to my face after we stopped for a quick snack and had two eyelashes in our frozen yogurt and a thick, long coarse dark hair in my turkey provolone sandwich. I have never received any bad service in the last couple years that I have been a member yet on my last 2 trips I have had the unfortunate luck of running into Kasey at the checkout counter. With the pandemic changing our lives right now and the unprecedented need for kindness and positivity through this troubling time she has not exemplified either. Kasey was terrifyingly rude and if looks could kill.. she continued to roll her eyes and speak in a rude and condescending tone when asked any form of question. And when her mood was commented on Kasey had an attitude and talked down towards me and made fun of what I had said to her coworkers directly in my face. This was only the first trip. I thought it may have just been an off day for her, it was busy in the early days of quarantine. I get it. But to my disappointment, she in fact treated her customers with disrespect and her signature eye roll and condescending tone. All in all I love Costco but bullying is not okay. She has left a lingering hurt that I do not believe is a value that Costco stands by. Please talk to Kasey of humble. EDIT: my boyfriend used to work closely to the Costco in headquarters for 5 years (didn't want to tell me then and there because he just wanted to get out as soon as possible) and was extremely uncomfortable with the entire situation of being around her.
