Today I had to come in to Costco because I had a popped tire and this is the place I know that sells good tires. I have purchased four in the past and my tires have been running very smoothly. In the front entrance, they are giving away free tumblers for anyone who applies for auto renewal of the Costco membership and or tries applying for a Citi credit card. So I thought why not it's free. I may have blew up a tire today, but at least I went home with a Costco Tumbler. Choose the little things in life that bring joy. Oh, and for a little stress relief we are visiting the food court and treating ourselves to not just one hot dog but ice cream because life is lifing but at least Costco has affordable options to fuel up my day. I shop between Costco Kapolei & PC Sam's Club every other week. Costco has healthier snacks while Sam's has more variety of junk snacks and candies. Costco has a pharmacy, hearing aid center, eye exams & tire center. I haven't used any of those services but do like that there's 2 tire inflation stalls outside next to the tire center that ANYONE can use for free! The parking lot is large and the gas station now has 3 pumps per aisle like town (but faster) for a total of 30 pumps. I've never waited in long lines for gas since they added the 3rd rows! The food court is inside to the right after the member center with cheap pizza & hot dogs as their main sellers. If you want your whole pizzas ready faster, when you enter Costco, go to the right and straight back to put in your order...then shop. If you're gonna be awhile let them know so they'll start it later! The bathroom is past the food court by the employee lockers. There's lots of stalls, its clean enough & has paper towels not just loud hand drying machines. They're usually pretty stocked with all the bulk food and items they sell. The lines can be long but the cashiers are quick, friendly and efficient. At the self checkout side, they're trying to scan items while in line so when you get to the pay kiosk you just scan your membership card, your order pulls up, you pay & go! So much quicker, I hope self checkout fully converts to that! P.S. shop before a holiday because they're closed on more holidays than other stores are! Happy shopping! read more

Costco is our weekly shopping adventure... Definitely see inflation in our economy. However, buying in bulk is sometimes a better value, I don't mind paying the price on certain items. I'll also look for the extra saving on items I usually purchase. I've been a member for 26 years and highly recommend to sign up for the executive membership. Being a frequent shopper here. The price of the membership pays for its self. Approximately 3 months before your membership renewal you'll receive up to 2% reward that can be redeemed for merchandise. Did you know, On the Costco app you're able to place an order for custom cakes?? I didn't and discovered that's an option in ordering your custom cakes. Ordering through the app was very convenient & simple to do! My last 2 visits: #1. I had gone to pick up my custom order that was placed on the app. I noticed when I went to pickup my order, a pack of 12 cupcakes for $8.99 it was festive and perfect for our Easter gathering. I wanted to get those instead for the convenience. The two women in the bakery department I spoke to were very accommodating about my custom order and said, "Thank you for letting them know. " #2. My Maui Jim sunglass screw came off and lost the screw. Btw..These sunglasses were purchased at this Costco. I had taken it in to see if I could have the screw replaced. Since the Kapolei Costco updated and added to their gas stations, it's been a blessing to have all of the new pumps. If there are any lines they quickly go down. The main store has really stepped up in the Appliance department. Lots of name brand products are available locally Thanks to their Pearl City warehouse on the old Sears Distribution site. We like that they feature a nice blend of Sale items and new products along the entry fence line. Check out is always busy. Good thing they have teams of 2 at the registers to help sort and stage your merchandise to make it easier for the cashiers. Gas prices are in line with the market. Food and general merchandise prices fluctuations go up and down based off of commodity prices. Overall good rating. Definitely recommended read more

You can't beat Costco food prices. I paid $1.50 for the hot dog combo- it came with a hotdog and a drink or bottle water. And I got the iced mocha latte. All for $4.70! I didn't like the mocha latte. It was a blended drink, too sweet for my liking. I'm sure other people will like it, just not for me. Order at the computer then stand in line with your receipt to pick up your order. read more

I lost my phone near Hawaiian shirts, they are very nice I must say. My wife was pinging it, it was 450 feet away. Shirts were about 50. I did have several errands to do on this day and though many could have been closer to home I decided to take the drive out to Kapolei as the Iwilei location is quite chaotic at all times of the day and with that wasted time though the drive would still save me the stress to navigate regardless and what a difference location makes in it all. Upon arrival it didn't take longer than a second to find parking and is close to the entrance and not a journey to find a shopping cart as they place them right as you walk up to the entrance verus Iwilei it's all to the side as hoards of folks grabbing them while weeding out the ones that don't work as well blocking access to the other carts along with items from the samples left inside them. I do like the layout here as it's very easy to find the items that I need, self check out was so fast and easy along with their food court which is inside and you pay using the kiosk and stand in line to pick up your items. The staff here is nice and ready to assist you with any issues. This location does have a great flow and all done inside before you finish and head out is a great and easy visit. Shopping in Kapolei, Oahu, Hawaii... We wanted to bring a snack to share, so why not look for something at Costco? This location seems to be less busy - maybe we went during a week day at an off time (while people are still at work)? The parking seemed easy and the line to pay wasn't too bad! The new thing is that membership cards are scanned at the door. The best thing was that the Food Court is inside the warehouse! It's cooler than being outside, and there's no dust, wind, and birds to bother the customers! Yes... There were tables and chairs nearby for indoor dining!!! And... you can order at a station instead of standing in line behind a person who isn't sure of what to order... and is fumbling with their wallet! Haha! I've been to this store a few times and it always looks ransacked. They're constantly out of things and there are empty boxes piled everywhere, even inside the freezer displays. It's understandable to have low inventory, being on an island. But the mess is not! Side note, always check your pizza before you walk away from the pick up window. I love Costco and this one is no different. Most of the Costcos have the same set up. They sell everything under the sun: food, clothes, toys, jewelry, books, healthcare, etc. Most of the Costcos that I've been to the cafe is on the outside. The cafe at this location is actually in the store. I prefer the cafe to be outdoors. There are so many people standing in line that it crowds the walkway getting out. They sell the same food as all the other locations on the island. I was tempted to get a chocolate chip cookie, but the line was so long. I do like that their gas station is on the same lot. It makes it more convenient. Costco offers some of the cheapest rates on gas. read more

Who doesn't love shopping in bulk?!? haha! After living on this island for all my life, I haven't came to this costco location until a week ago. So Crazy! Anyways, to my surprise.. the parking wasn't terrible - store and gas! Not like Iwilei! Also, the walk from the parking lot wasn't too far like Waipio. I appreciated that the moving vehicles stopped for pedestrians. My friends and I came here to pick up omiyage. I live in Texas now so it gives me a reason to buy mac nuts! There were plenty Christmas goodies and it wasn't even Thanksgiving. So funny! They had just gotten out the pareos and I got so excited! Another reason to buy cute stuff at an affortable price. It is true what they say... the older you get, the more attractive and comfortable Costco clothes look and feel. I also found a couple of aloha shirts for my husband. What a great find! However, I was very sad that I couldn't find the books. I love looking at the children's books (preschool teacher here!). I was interesting in finding Hawaii specific books so when I go back to Texas, I can have some Hawaiian books on my book shelf. This has to be my favorite Costco on the island. It gets crowded like any Costco, but not as crowded as say the town or Waipio one. First and foremost, I feel safe parking and going to this Costco with my two kids by myself. The parking lot is always clean and the carts are constantly put away by the workers, such a hard job...especially during the summer! Inside is so clean, and despite people rummaging through things like the clothes section, there's always someone there organizing it again and making it look neat. I'm at that age where I'm starting to like Costco clothes, so works out great for me lol. The produce section is always fresh and so diverse. I love coming here for fruits and veggies since we're big on juicing and blending in our house. The cost of buying food here in bulk is cheaper than buying in small quantities at regular stores. The meat, seafood, rotisserie section and prepared foods is so good here too. When we don't know what to eat we know we can get bulgogi for $6.99/lb and it's so good here. When I want lobster tails, you get some of the best seafood here too for a fraction of a restaurant cost! I don't know what else to say about this Costco except this is the BEST one on the island. You can come here and sample good food, shop for everything from batteries to asparagus to dim sum BUT one downfall that is of recent is the new procedures at the food court. First you go to the kiosk and order your food, THEN you stand in line to do a pickup for it instead of them calling out numbers like before. I am writing this review regarding an incident that occurred at this Costco location on August 27th around 9:30 AM. I had mistakenly scanned my card at the entrance, thinking I was an Executive member under my father's account. The staff at the entrance was polite, verified my account, and kindly directed me through the exit so that I could proceed to the membership help desk. As my mother and I entered through the exit, there were two employees checking receipts. One of them, named Mitchell, was present. While passing by, I said "Excuse me, sorry." His response was, "Don't be sorry, do the right thing," after which he walked away toward the entrance. This remark was completely uncalled for and left a very negative first impression of this Costco location. I have never encountered such behavior from Costco employees elsewhere. His comment came across as rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. It is especially concerning because it raises the question of whether we were treated this way due to being Asian women. Employees represent the company, and professionalism should always be maintained, regardless of personal feelings. Mitchell's behavior was unacceptable and should not be dismissed lightly. Proper retraining in customer service and communication is necessary if he wishes to continue working in a customer-facing role. read more

I recently went to the Costco pharmacy to get information on a cough medicine and to get my shingles vaccine. Robin the pharmacist, was helpful, patient and kind. Prior to administering the shot, he explained the possible effects of the vaccine, as well as being apologetic since this particular vaccine hurts. While waiting at the checkout line, a service representative scanned our items in the cart and instructed us to show our members card to the checkout clerk. When we got to the checkout clerk they double checked number of items in our cart, and we paid with our debit card and got our reciept for purchase. Two days later we checked our bank account and noticed we were charged twice for our items. Our bank was contacted and the dispute will take 45 days! We have always liked Costco! When we lived on mainland and traveled for 3 years in our RV we had the opportunity to shop in locations around the Country. I like that Costco offers items that are popular in the area or produced in that region. Living in Hawaii now...not in an RV we try some products that are mainly available here. The Kapolei Costco is almost always busy and we get some our steps in by walking from the back 40 to store entrance. And no, didn't grow up on farm just like to pull out those old saying once in a while. We do not return items often, although it does happen, nice to not have to explain that we didn't care for a product. Being retired we may visit more times than some people do. We like sampling items, if it's new to us, nice to know how it tastes before buying an entire bag. Value is pretty good. Although living in a townhouse our refrigerator does not have a large freezer space so we do have to limit frozen foods. Dress fairly casual so we do purchase some of our clothing here. Sometimes I wish they wouldn't switch lines as much. I'll find a cut I like go back to buy more and no longer available. Sometimes I find that they run out of the small size quickly, especially in more popular colors. Of course Costco gas is more reasonable than most other stations. read more

Although we originally favored the Hawaii Kai Costco, this one on the west side has become our new convenient choice, and it hasn't disappointed. The customer service here is the consistently friendly and helpful employees thus far. Of course, like any busy store, there are times when the lines can be a bit of a hassle. However, being a mom with 3 kids Ive learned to be strategic with our timing, and that helps us avoid the worst of it. Costco in itself is a great to shop especially when you are looking to buy in bulk. Their prices are fairly cheap. Love the Kapolei location because they are usually stocked up and all of the employees that I have had contact with were always friendly and super helpful. Lines can be long especially on the weekends and before a holiday but the employees are so good about keeping the lines moving. Today we bought the hamburger steak with gravy. The price is great for 6 patties. The size per steak is a good size as well. It is located in their chiller with the pre-made pastas and salmon that you just pop into the oven. I'm not a big hamburger fan, but I really like this one. The flavor is light and great for meal prepping or just a quick meal to put together. It is very quick and easy to prepare. After 40 min in the oven, it's ready. We like to sauté some green beans and garlic which is also purchased at Costco to eat with it and it's the perfect combination. I tried buying it at a different Costco location but haven't had much luck. Kapolei always seems to have it along with other items that are out at other locations. read more

[HANDICAP] They seem to have a lot more ELECTRIC MOBILITY SCOOTERS for customers to use and if you don't see one just let the person who checks peoples cards as you enter and they usually help you wait for one or they ask someone to check the parking for them. I wanted to check out the supposed World's Busiest Costco, but we were in the Ko Olina area and this was the nearest Costco, so we decided to check out this one instead. This is your typical Costco, sprinkled with Hawaiian local goods -- Costco is the perfect place to buy your souvenirs. They sell the Hawaiian Host chocolates here at a deeply discounted price so do not buy them anywhere else but here! I actually always used my mom's membership card but I know Costco is trying to be stricter with using other people's memberships and I've actually never tried using my mom's membership without her so my impulsive self decided to get a membership, and I'm kinda glad I did! There were plenty of things to choose from and the associate helping me set up my membership told me that having a membership as a Hawaii resident is essential because goods are just so expensive everywhere else. And I can agree - things were significantly cheaper here than what you would find anywhere else on the island. I found some interesting goods that can only be found at Hawaiian Costcos and I thought it was interesting. I shop at both the Alakawa and the Kapolei Costco. Good deals, good products. Switched over from Sam's Club. The Kapolei location is just as busy as but parking and getting gas is easier due to the wider layout. I can usually find parking whether it is on a weekday or weekend...especially since I don't mind walking. They have samples but I can't say I have ever availed myself of any free treats. They have staples but also rotate in some interesting foods. Their deli section is good but the food court is excellent. Today, I tried it for the first time. A chicken bake and a slice of pepperoni pizza - for $6 - what a deal. I've eaten their pizzas before...and it is quite average but even average pizza is dang good.
