I truly enjoy going aisle by aisle here. It can honestly get a little overwhelming because there are way too many things I love all in one place! It's so hard to pick just one thing. This is definitely the kind of place where I have to be careful, or I'll break the bank. I'm grateful for the easy bathroom access too. The bathrooms are conveniently located right by the front entrance on the left side of the building. I'm grateful for the hot, ready to go meals. I'm grateful for the delicious 3D ice cream. I'm grateful that I can find so many Asian snacks, foods, and little treats that I love. One of my favorite things is the convenience of being able to buy something you love, microwave it right there, and then just chill and enjoy your food in their huge dining area. Sometimes it's the simple things like that that make me happy. I love where I live. I really like this grocery store, especially if you're looking for a quick meal. They have a great selection of hot foods, and if your food isn't quite hot enough, there's a microwave conveniently located right after the self-checkout area so you can heat it up before heading out. I do love their poke bowls there. One thing I really appreciate is the amount of seating. There are plenty of tables indoors, plus outdoor seating if you'd rather enjoy your meal outside. It makes it a nice spot to relax instead of rushing out the door. I also noticed the condiments are available near the self-checkout area, which is a nice convenience. A few other helpful things I took note of: there are three ATM machines in the dining area if you need cash, and restrooms are available both near the main entrance and in the dining area. I took a few photos for reference to help future shoppers. Also I forgot to add, you now can enter from both sides of the store. Overall, it's more than just a grocery store, it's a great place to grab a quick bite, meet up with a friend, or even have a casual small business meeting. Just visited this location, and loved how clean and organized it was compared to the don quijote by Waikiki. Everything was easy to find, and the food looked delicious. Check out was easy as well. Managed to make a trip out to visit the new Don Don DonKi superstore in Kapolei. Located along Kamokila Boulevard across from Chick-Fil-A, it was easy to get to with lots of parking. It is the second biggest DQ I've been to, just behind Guam. The selection of goods has expanded to fit the bigger size. The food court located next to the check out counters, great to grab a bite after shopping. Someplace to check out when I'm in the area. Repeat and recommend! read more

My sister took me to lunch and suggested the Wagyu Skewer lunch spot in Don Don Donki. It sounded pretty good, so off we went. The layout of the store is pretty strange, with the entrance on one side, and the exit at the other end of the store by the food court. It forces you to either park near the entrance or exit (or in the middle), and either way, it's gonna be a long walk. We parked near the entrance and went in and found the food court at the other side of the store. The store is fairly large, and offers a huge selection of Japanese foods, snacks, and other specialty products. It was surprisingly empty for a Friday afternoon, but at least we didn't have to wait very long. They have a large counter for sit down dining, along with tables in the middle of the court. The skewers were a petty good size, but the meat wasn't as tender as I had expected. It was a bit stringy, and chewy, but the taste was good. They also provided a Teriyaki style dipping sauce, which had a good flavor. I like that it included both a green salad, and mac salad, and the bed of rice under the skewers were also topped with furikake. For some reason, although it was a take out order, they forgot to include any utensils for the eating salad and rice. The exit is located right by the dining area, so the walk back to the car is quite a distance. I understand that having only one exit reduces the chances of theft, but it's still pretty inconvenient for their "primary" customers, who are probably an older demographic. We went specifically for veggies but the selection was subpar on 4-29-26. Either old, moldy or not fresh. Did however buy cherries but was pricey at $18 at checkout. Also bought hamburger, pork chops, snacks for the grandkiddies and hubs put a custard pie into the wagon. Added kim chee, pickled cucumber too and a couple more items. This place is great. It's huge and much bigger than the one in town. You can find almost anything you need. They have a huge food court that's on the inside and air conditioned. It's still not done yet. They have two stalls that will be opened soon. They have a huge snack section, beauty, produce, meat, seafood and frozen items. They have a poke department and a big fridge filled with sushi. Yum! I love their chirashi bowls and scallop nigiris. We went around 7pm and their sushi were all discounted. Score! We easily came to the store at least once a day during our stay out in the area. I think I was initially drawn to the store just from the fun name, but realize it is a variation of the Don Quixote stores in the area. Inside is a massive grocery store with an overwhelming amount of Asian foods, snacks, and various household goods. It reminded me of grocery department stores in Korea, such as Lotte Mart. I still have their Don Don Donki theme song stuck in my head as that was played over and over on the stores loudspeaker. Unless you already have studied and know the entire layout of the store, be sure to give yourself at least 30 minutes to park and look around. This is absolutely such a game changer to pick up snacks, gifts, or things that are more challenging to find outside of Japan. Went cruising to Kapolei with wifey today, and ended up visit this new form of Don Quixote. Very clean and spacious. Produce section laid out quite along with the meat section. Too bad we didn't bring a cooler. Ready to eat food looked very appealing. This goes for the poke counter as well. There was a Filipino section for all us natives. This was wonderful excursion. Whole lotta stuff going on here. It was my first time here and I wanted to make it count. I didn't get chance to fine tooth comb the entire layout but, what I saw was enough for me to return and dedicate time to it. Toys for days here. Mostly Asian toys. Gundam, Godzilla, Pikachu, etc. Collectibles as well. Extensive food, beverage and everything a Supermarket has and more! The store was organized, clean and colorful. The best part of visiting family in Ewa instead of staying in town? Proximity to Don Don Donki. This place was insane and I'm not sure how I'll ever go back to a regular Don Quijote. First off: The snack selection is elite. Endless rows of Japanese snacks -- including my personal favorite, specialty Pretz flavors -- including some killer deals for $1-3 items. Freezers and fridges filled with ice cream (single servings and full size), canned coffee, prepared food, and more. Hawaiian goodies with aisles of their own. Everything from basic ingredients to skincare items surprisingly intuitive to find (though you WILL get distracted). Plus, most of it is pretty affordable. Wow! From mascara to oysters to small appliances, you can buy anything at the Don Q. It's my new favorite store on O'ahu. During our trip, my party of 6 visited several times to get fresh oysters, hard-to-find Kanoka candied citrus peel, Japanese snacks, pineapple, papaya and poke. As for the oysters, they were clean, easy to open, and all were fresh tasting. Currently, there is a shortage of pineapple, so I'm blaming the shortage on the average tasting pineapple. In addition to DDD, there are little food shops that surround the supermarket and it's all indoors. Five stars is an understatement! I am a total fan of Donki! How much so? I visit at least twice a week..visits range for lunch to picking up stuff for dinner. I think once I even went 3 times in one week... I love that they usually have everything I need and prices are reasonable. But what's also awesome is that they carry cool things from Japan. I usually go during the work lunch time so it's never too busy. I'm not too sure how they are during the weekends but there's still plenty parking on their side and the side by the theater. They have a lot of space to also eat at the different shops. Overall, it's clean, fast service and they have so many options. I love Donki! read more

I got some household supplies from Don Don Donki in Kapolei , their super Don Quijote. I've been here a few times. They are one of the few stores that carry Phiten products. I picked up their tape discs. When I went to the Kaheka Phiten Store - in between Donki and Pearl BBQ - the ladies that helped me gave some sample titanium infused discs and tape. How much of it is the "placebo effect" is hard to say...but positive thinking does allow for quicker healing. It is a huge store, formerly K-Mart. Several food option in their indoor food court; the Kaploei location also has an outdoor dining area. Lots of parking and with both Popeyes and Chik-fil-A opening up...there's a fair amount of traffic. read more

The reason for my four-star rating is that it is in Kapolei and, as a townee, I was so nervous about driving there because my out-of-town guests had heard about it. My shop-a-holic friend filled her shopping cart with candies and snacks to more than $400 worth of overflowing!! I was no angel either. First stop off the plane and right to Don Don Donki! We walked around to check out all the cooked food first. They do have the food court in the front with different stalls, but if you go into the actual store you can find cooked bentos, tons of poke options, sushi/sashimi and more! We purchased everything to eat and then went back out to the food court to eat. I really enjoyed the poke bowl and the yubu with salmon and tuna! Afterward we went back in to actually shop. This store is huge! Tons of toys, snacks, and actual groceries. It's a one stop shop for everything! Finally got to check out Don Don Donki in Kapolei . Very clean and large Donki compared to other locations. Like everyone said the only downside I can see is there only one entrance than you'll need to exit one door . Lots of Japanese snack and produce from Japan . I like their restrooms they're located once you enter also there's restrooms near the exit . Lots of food vendors to choose from in the food court area . I was there around 9:00am and no crowds yet lol . The trick is to go early because everyone says it's very busy during mid day . I like this donki better than the one in town. This new donki is definitely more spacious and the layout is not as confusing. They have a good selection of meat and groceries. They have poke, bentos and some hot food just like other locations. They have a small hot bar but not that many options. There is a food court area but most of the stores are not opened yet. Don Don Donki Kapolei the newest addition to the Don Quixote family. Lots to see and explore there. We finally got to see and try their bakery. It's kinda hidden next to the self checkouts. They have a good selection of Ted's Pies . We tried their freshly baked pastries. One sweet (Anpan) and one savory (a Portuguese Sausage pastry). Both were delicious . We went in early and also tried their Okazu counter located in the back of the store next to the Meat and Seafood departments. Nice selection of Bentos , Roasted meats, Hot and Cold entrees (some from the self serve kiosks (charged by the pound) or at the counter fronting the kitchen where you can get a plate lunch for a deal. I'm sorry Casee, but Donki does not care or take customer's complaints serious like your reply implies: At the outset, we apologize for the inconvenience and the experience you mentioned when shopping at our store on May 17, 2026 (Sunday). After reviewing this matter carefully, it appears: Store employees near the store exit asked every customer to present a copy of their purchase receipt; In addition to visible checks by store employees at the exit, signs were posted for customers: "Please have receipt ready"; Customers before you presented their receipts and, after a quick verification, their receipts were returned and they exited the store; When the store employee requested you to provide a copy of your purchase receipt, you were not able to and you searched the pockets in your clothes and in your shopping cart but the receipt could not be found; you then stated you had thrown away the receipt; In accordance with store policy, the store employee asked which check-out counter you made the purchase and you pointed in the direction of the self-check stations; You then retrieved your mobile phone and started video recording; As your hands were occupied video recording on your phone, our store employee pushed your cart to the self-check station area and you followed; Upon inspecting the self-check station you were at, there was no receipt. However, your receipt was later recovered from the attendant station after a cashier found a receipt at the self-check station you used and brought it to the attendant station. You continued to focus on your phone to video record. The store employee retrieved the receipt and compared it against the merchandise in your shopping cart; You continued to video record; After verification, the receipt was handed to you before the store employee pushed your cart to the exit area as you continued to video record on your mobile phone. You followed the store employee to the exit area and you left the store with your shopping cart; and On May 22, 2026 (Friday), at 6:36 PM, you submitted a formal report and claim to the store. I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Don Don Donki. After spending a significant amount of money in the store and at the food court, I was stopped, detained, and escorted back to the checkout area against my wishes despite having paid for every item in my possession. One of the items I purchased even required an employee to remove a security hard tag during checkout, clearly demonstrating that the merchandise had been properly paid for. I am extremely concerned by the conduct of your security personnel during the incident in question. The video evidence clearly demonstrates that I did not voluntarily consent to returning to the store. Instead, I was directed and escorted back inside by Security Officer Siemens despite my expressed desire to leave the premises. At that time, all merchandise in my possession had already been lawfully purchased and paid for. More troubling is the fact that even after proof of purchase was produced and verified by store employees, Security Officer Siemens continued to retain control over my property and refused to return it immediately. Despite confirmation that all items had been properly paid for, I was treated as though I had committed a criminal act and was escorted from the store in a manner that was humiliating, intimidating, and highly embarrassing. As a paying customer who made multiple purchases at your establishment, including supporting one of your concession vendors, I find this treatment unacceptable. Customers should not be subjected to detention, public humiliation, or interference with their personal property simply because store procedures are inadequately staffed or managed. If receipt verification procedures are causing operational challenges due to a lack of manpower, that burden should not be shifted onto customers who have already completed lawful purchases. Operational shortcomings do not justify the detention of customers, the withholding of personal property, or conduct that may constitute false imprisonment and wrongful interference with personal property rights. I respectfully request a written explanation as to why I was detained, why my property was withheld after proof of purchase was presented, and what corrective actions will be taken to ensure that other customers are not subjected to similar treatment in the future. This incident has caused significant distress, embarrassment, and anxiety, and remains deeply disappointing given the manner in which I was treated despite being a legitimate paying customer What a shame, Don Don Donki. We had some time to kill after shopping at Waikele Outlets, so it was the perfect reason to check out Don Don Donki's only location in the US. According to Google Street View, this used to be a Kmart store, so the footprint was large. EXPERIENCE: The highlight were their numerous in-house eateries which included a big sushi restaurant (Waka Sakura) and spacious communal dining area. The prepared foods were impressive as well. The rest of it was traditional supermarket with an emphasis on Asian foods. They also sold products you'd find in a Don Quijote but on a much smaller scale. I read about Don Q opening a new location. Leaving Kaneohe, the Like Like was closed and they diverted the traffic to the H3. Since I was going in a different direction, why not check out the new Don Don. It is kinda far but good for the Kapolei community. Entrance on one side, exit on the opposite end...ok, so I guess I'll park right in the middle. This location is huge! What I like is the wide aisles, and everything is spread out. It's an interesting layout so I just wandered around. I did get a new water bottle and some mochi peanut snacks. Oh and lanyards for work. I did self-checkout and someone had to help me with the security tags. I didn't see any place I wanted to eat at, but I was hungry. I didn't even see any bentos I wanted earlier. Maybe next time.
