Costco is Close to Perfection My wife and I have been Costco members for thirty plus years and I cannot think of a bad experience ever! Honolulu, San Francisco and Las Vegas are all the same. Costco recruits well, trains well and operates well. The Covid-BS these last few months has been trying on everyone, but each time we have visited Costco all of the employees we interacted with were as upbeat and friendly as ever. Sure, some items were out of stock, but that was the case everywhere at the height of the hoarders. And as far as the masks -- big deal! This too will pass. Their meat department, paper products and personal health care items are our go to's. Excellent parmigiano reggiano, bulk black peppercorns, lump crab meat and great deals on butter and eggs. And their rotisserie chicken is a steal. And if you like clams and mussels they are sweet, clean and succulent with very few dead or cracked. As a family of two the produce and bakery quantities have proven too large for us to finish but what we have purchased have been fresh and of excellent quality because everything turns over so quickly. Good deals on wine and booze. And the couple of times we needed to return something there were no questions asked. Haters stay away. read more

I spend 78.27 for lobster tails at Costco, when I back home I feel it was lighter than what I get, then I put it on the scale, it's half pound lighter. I thought it maybe my scale problem, then I try on my buttermilk powder, come out it's right(10.37 pound). After all this, I bring back receipt and pictures that I post below. Manager come out, he was so mean, tell me they're useing FDA scale, it's my scale problem... and I show him the buttermilk 10 pound picture. And he's yelling at me said it doesn't matter, keep said it's my scale problem... I don't want argue with him, decide just walk away. I decided to sign up for a Costco card when my employer had a perk incentive to sign up that included free products worth a $65 value. I really enjoy Costco products, variety, quality and selection. They have almost anything you could need or want. I shop for grocery goodies, drinks, breads, dairy, frozen goodies, meats, poultry, pre-packaged dinners and grooming items! I find that their ready to eat goodies in house eatery has delicious food for on the spot munch or take home. They have fresh hot pizza, hot dogs, chicken bakes, turkey pesto chiabatta sandwiches mmmmmmm yummy! They have soft serve and some desserts that are super cheap eats that are tasty! read more

Costco is on a relentless mission to alienate its customers. So far this year, they have: Shut down all of the the bathrooms for several months, closed the vision center for several months, closed the food court for at least a few weeks. All of those are back now and today I foolishly returned. As I neared the door, I noticed a great deal of yelling. This turned out the be the staff shouting at the incoming line of customers about scanning their membership cards to gain entry. It's already impossible to check out without a membership card. Stepping up their harassment of customers on the way into the store doesn't serve any purpose other than ensuring that every shopping experience is an unpleasant one. Mission accomplished. I'm done. I have no desire to discover the next phase of Costco's plan to enhance customer dissatisfaction. read more

I love Costco and do all my shopping at either Target or Costco. The fruits and veggies are always fresh and there is great variety of product options (though not great diversity for each product). The people working there smile and are eager to get you through those long lines as quickly as possible. That brings me to the 4 stars... there is always a wait--usually a long wait--at this Costco. Also, you always have to park really far away. And... it's rally hard to find an employee if you need help. For most reviews, these complaints would significantly decrease the number of stars allotted to the business. Costco, though, is different. It is a box store and doesn't claim to be anything it's not. You go to Costco because you want quality products in bulk at a reasonable price. I prefer the Decatur Costco because it's newer, less busy, and offers lots of organic options (including meats), but this one does the job. When you're there, be sure to take home a huge, delicious $10 pizza. You can call in your order when you walk into the store and it will be done when you're ready to leave. I recently had one of the worst experiences here at this location and feels that the treatment/lack of customer service has been very consistent at this location. I'm in the process of buying some jewelry and patiently waited for the associate at the counter to become available. After watching her count and write down some numbers she stopped to help a couple. She was very engaging with the couple, gave them her undivided attention, traded stories and laughter with the couple. Once she got done with that couple I attempted to ask her a question and right away I received a response that was full of annoyance and came across as if I was a bother. She didn't make eye contact with me once and started to write away in her book. I could tell that she was not trying to assist me so I left to purchase my groceries. During the the checkout process I was still really bothered by how I was treated so I decided to speak to a manager about the situation. The manager apologized and walked me to another associate to assist me with my questions. As soon as I walked over with the manager the associate who mistreated me began to own and apologized for how she had treated me but I was too hurt and bothered to even accept an apology from her This was a horrible experience and very shocking considering that I shop at Costco on a regular basis and usually spend about close to $800 or more monthly. I'm now making my jewelry purchase of over $2000 online to have it delivered to a different store and would never give them my business again. I think this associate and maybe the store needs more training on customer service and on diversity and inclusion. I was blatantly profiled, which was both very disappointing and disgusting. Made my first trip to Costco last Friday and it wasn't a great experience. I purchased my membership online and was advised to pick up my club card at the membership desk. I walked in the side of the building marked enter and was immediately jumped on by a staffer wanting to see my club card. I told her I needed to go to the membership desk and she told my husband and I to go to the other side marked exit because the desk was on that side of the building. So we did and got in line but the next thing I knew a security guard approached us demanding to know if we came in through the exit! His initial demeanor was meant to be intimidating but it just added to the confusing and frustrating experience. In the end we got our cards and did our shopping. I really hope things go better at my next shopping trip and for sure I will try another Costco location. read more

Too bad there is not an option for Zero Star. One Star is more than what Costco Customer Service deserves. I ordered a seven-piece dining set and after it was delivered and I spend 5 hours to put it together, noticed that tabletop is peeling off. Immediately contacted their Furniture center and after 6 weeks of numerous phones calls and emails, they offered $75. A carpenter to make service call is minimum of $225. They also offered to replace the table but could not guarantee and synchronize pickup and delivery at the same time and I did not have room for two dining tables. I love this Costco. I have loved did since the first time I went in as it reminded me so much of my favorite one in CA. I've been to others here and while they are amazing this one tops them all. I have my favorite line at the cash register and it makes me happy that the same two people handling that line. I actually find out when they will be there so I go on those days which is awesome because the days they are not there and I go it's not the same speed. Everyone is friendly and the customer service is always top notch so I don't need to complain. The bathrooms are well kept and the floors around the store are kept clean and well stocked. I walked into Costco no problem and got my things I took my time and at check out I was discriminated against , I had my wife card and the employee started acting like it was the end of the world. To be honest I felt belittled and made me feel less. They had the nerve to tell me I couldn't use my wife's card. I like this location a lot more than the MLK location. But I like it more than grocery stores for their Nutella jugs, beer, mac and cheese (okay yea, that's all I bought back in college) and random stuff like Golden Knights bandwagon gear. The gas bonus is noice too! Obviously it gets busy but the lines do go pretty quick because people seem to love working here. I think they open earlier than the hours posted, unless they do it specifically for soccer moms and dads buying loads of water bottles or gatorades which is what I see the most, which is fine by me and something you definitely need to take advantage of. Be smart when you shop and you won't have to drop 2-3 bills. Also don't park your damn cart in the middle of the way while trying samples because it makes you less smart and drops your IQ. I stopped in on a weekday around lunchtime and it was crazy busy! I hurried through the aisles and picked up the few things that I needed. There was a substantial line at checkout. They could have used a few more open registers. On my way out, I stopped at the food court and ordered a quick bite at the self serve kiosk. The ordering itself was quite easy. I selected what I wanted on the screen and paid. Picking up the food was quite disorganized. One person was tasked with making all the orders on her own. People who stood in the regular line were making it out faster than the group of us that ordered through the self serve kiosk! One of the smaller Costco location I have ever been to, but it opened back in October 2001, when the local population probably wasn't that large to justified a larger store. But now it has all the optional amenities (Costco Gas, Food Court, Tire Service Center, Pharmacy, Optical Department and Hearing Aids) that enticed me and many others to visit this location more frequently than I/we probably should. Some highlights: The produce department has excellent fruits and vegetables. For more money, you can upgrade to organic produce. Great place to shop for ingredients for the juice diet. Gas. Competitive prices. It is not always the lowest in the Las Vegas valley, but it is closer to the cheapest available. The meats department is large, clean, and offers wholesome and fresh cuts of meats, rotisserie chickens and other convenience food. Food Court. $Buck Fifty Hot Dogs and soda can't be beat. Whole pizzas or by the slice. Gelatos and chocolate dipped ice cream bars are super great especially during the summer heat. Competitive prices and excellent warranty on flat screen TVs. A lot of other goodies in the electronics department. Sushi prepared on site. They even have sushi rolls made with brown rice, for those that opted to minimized their white rice consumption. Costco Employees. Most just do their best at their work. But there are some stellar few that go above and beyond to help customers, even if they are not on the clock. Example: A female employee was shopping (so I assume she is not on the clock), saw me looking at some air fresher, and told me to hold off on the purchase, because the coupon discount will kick in the next day. It is the little things. Things to be aware of: Weekend crowds. I am sure that is typical of all Costco locations. So if you can shop during the week to avoid the crowd, you will probably get in and out quicker. Parking. Sometimes it feels that there are just not enough parking spaces. The people. Most are great, considerate and have good spacial awareness of their surroundings. Others... well, let's just say I don't know how they managed to survive this long without being run over multiple times already. Other: Selection of items is just okay, compared to some other Costcos that I am more familiar with in California (Fremont, Richmond, Santa Clara). But what items and services are offered is based on what the purchasers think will sell at this location. Like pallets of spam in Hawaii's Costco. Red Deer Antler Sprays in Baltimore. Kirkland branded American Vodka, wherever people want Grey Goose-like vodka at fraction of the price. What else is worth mentioning? Oh yeah, when it gets really busy and during the holiday rush, Costco employees will scan items in the cart with handheld devices to speed you through the check out line as quickly as possible. 4 stars. read more

We stood in line to pay and when we checked out the nice cashier said we hadn't renewed our card. I told her we had renewed a month ago on line before it expired. She called a supervisor- Ricardo- over who was so rude- telling me to produce proof or get out of line. We paid the second time to renew and then sat in food court and pulled up the confirmation from July to take to the service desk. When I showed the guy my confirmation he said that wasn't good enough. Now I had to produce proof it had been taken out of an account ‍. Because I wasn't sure what credit card or bank card I used- we had to come all the way home- print out the receipt for confirmation and the credit card receipt. The attitude of staff was " your lying" personna- and although I'm sure some do lie- seems with a confirmation that should suffice. Ricardo needs to be empathetic- we are standing there trying to convince someone we paid. He didn't care. Terrible customer service- staff could have been nicer. So disappointed. read more

I vote for the pharmacy to have a take a ticket system like optical! Either that or drive thru. Only one person in front of me in line and two at the counter. They all had problems. This is strictly for the Summerlin Costco. We will now always drive all the way to the Decatur location. It's really sad. We can deal with the crowds and the shoppers in their own world. However there are too many of your staff that are rude and do not know the smallest thing about customer service or just general polite kindness. The last two times I have checked out I have had bad experiences. We are friendly and always ask how they are and how their day was. Today I said hi how are you and Aubrey C according to my receipt said "well I'm here" I said yeah I feel that way and she stared at me with a very bothered look and then proceeded to talk to the lady loading my cart about how she shouldn't work Saturdays. I felt very uncomfortable and very saddened by her behavior. She gave me my receipt I said thank you she again looked very bothered and said nothing. I got my cart and left. My grandmother always told me a smile is cheap you never know what the other is going through and I have tried to follow that advice. I'm an ICU RN have been for plus 20 years. I deal with unhappy angry people everyday and I still am kind because kindness is cheap and it makes a huge difference for people. Costco please check in on your staff maybe something is happening I don't know but that is not what will help you stay in business even with the great deals. Although I recommend this business they need improvements. First a few negatives, 1, the greeter was particularly aggressive today. He didn't greet me but he demanded to see my membership card. I don't see why that is so necessary. If you don't have a card you can't purchase anything anyway why hold the line for people to dig through pockets or purses & wallets? Plus there is always someone blocking the entrance bc they are putting away their card. Greeter should be welcoming not questioning. 2, the products are constantly relocated. I may go once a month and I am learning where things are finally after coming here almost a year. There aren't that many staff on the floor to ask either. Walking around a super giant store to look for something that got relocated isn't easy. 3, tired of snarky cashier helpers rushing me. I'm trying to put items on the conveyor belt & get the card to the cashier to scan & helpers come over and telling me I need to put everything on the belt and not leave stuff in the cart if I want a box. What's their job? I finally stop asking for a box. I got 100 things in the cart. I don't get that much time to put everything on the belt before I have to move up to get my card scanned. On the positive, return is easy even though the line is long. Sure I give them reasons why but they have never refused a return. Although all were legit reasons. Lot of food items had holes or seal was damaged in the bag/containers. That's probably my 4th discontent, waiting in long line to return defective items. I need to check before I buy them. I also like the wide aisles. It's still too narrow if I want to pass bc someone is just looking and shopping, but nevertheless they are wider than other markets. I probably will shop for only another 3-5 years. I'm getting up in age now where I can't separate the 3 pack oj nor put them in the cart. I can't even separate the ketchup bottles. Not an employee but a passer by helped me load the sack of rice & pack of oj into my cart. That's when you know it's over or see if Kirkland can graciously change their packaging to more older & tiny buyer friendly. I paid someone to load the sack of rice into my trunk. Finally they have fairly good baked good. Not all but most are great such as Baked bread, but packs too soon so there are moisture droplets & soggy sometimes. Bagels too, crunch outside & soft bread inside. Pies and cheese cake: fantastic. I would like more vegan items tho. I don't see vegan cookie dough anymore which I loved. Same for jack fruits they were really great buys but I can't find them. Could be moved another location but I don't know where too & haven't had a chance to ask. All in all once a month shopping is manageable. read more
