I heard in the news that the price of chocolate has been going up, but... See's is no longer a mid-tier chocolate place, it's top tier! A chocolate pumpkin was $4.25. One of the employees here told me that they couldn't afford the rent at the Sahara location anymore. They have a large variety of chocolates that include milk chocolate, dark chocolate, chocolate with nuts, truffles and even holiday candy. The other day I tried a new pineapple truffle dark chocolate candy, which is going to be one of my new favorites. I was trying to buy pre boxed candy tonight. I had a three pound box, a soft box and some cashew brittle. I stood at the register, with at least 6 sales ladies helping those guests picking out individual chocolates, and no one even looked at me. After three sales were rung up from the people selecting chocolates, and not even being acknowledged by any of the staff, I just pushed the boxes toward the cashier and walked out. We absolutely love this location. Every time we go to Vegas to visit friends or family, we stop here to get a gift and get some pieces for ourselves, of course. The staff is always friendly and helpful. There is usually a line but that is to be expected with the great chocolates and other offerings in the store. For ourselves we have a rule - we each get three pieces/cups per visit, in our own bags. For friends or family, we usually fill a box with selections we choose for them. It is all done by weight, but you'd be surprised how many pieces they can fit in one box for you. It is like they are chocolate-Tetris-professionals. We love the different lollipops they offer and anything that is released on a seasonal basis. Great draw for customers and some really unique things to get others or to collect for yourself. Love that they do many theme wrappings and chocolate offerings for holidays and the Super Bowl, etc. When in the Vegas area, stop on by this location. Zero stars! I was in the store and selected prepackaged items. There were two sales ladies behind the counter and no one at the register. I stood in line where you select chocolate. Since I wasn't selecting any, the sales lady told me to stand at the register. She then came over to ring up her customer, and the other sales lady rang up hers as well. She looked at me and said that the customer waiting to select candy was before me. I had been in front of that customer until they told me to go to the register. Super busy, but the speed of the workers was excellent. They seemed to be wiped out pretty good from Valentines Day, but had new Leprechaun themed items out. Went with a 1 pound box of chocolates fits about 21 pieces for $32.00 high price for chocolates, but they are very rich in flavor. Your able to sample chocolates too, so if your not sure if your going to like certain pieces they are happy to give you a whole piece to try. They have suckers too that cost $1.25 that you can purchase for the kiddos before getting into the box of chocolates. read more

If you're a Costco member try picking up their special deal on See's gift cards which is usually about $39 for $50 of gift cards. Inside the store is small, but you'll be offered a sample when you get in line. Feel free to ask for something different if it doesn't sound good, though. They have pre-packaged boxes of assorted items if you're in a hurry, but your best bet is to pick out a custom box at the counter. They have an incredible selection, and you really can't go wrong with anything. Scotchmallow, marzipan, and their blueberry, lemon, pineapple, and key lime truffles are personal favorites. They're sold by weight, so the amount you get varies depending on the size and weight of what you pick. Definitely a classic. I grew up with See's Candies and would always be excited when my mom would take me to one of their stores back in Hawaii. Although they don't make certain items anymore (like their sugar candy sticks) I have never been disappointed with the quality and taste of their chocolates and candies. Some of my favorites are the Chocolate Lollypops, Orange Krispys, Milk Caramel Pattie and the Milk Chocolate Buttercream. I usually shop here around Christmas since they have a variety of gift boxes and stocking stuffers that make great gifts. As always, you can also build your own custom mix of chocolates. But I'll usually stop by at least a few times every year. The staff has always been attentive and friendly. They are carefully following COVID guidelines. A few weeks before Christmas, there was a long line outside the store since I believe they were only allowing 5 customers inside at a time. While I was in the store, an older couple walked in without waiting and they were stopped right away. One of the employees informed them that they were at capacity and asked them to wait outside until they were called. Good to see that they are still popular as they were years ago! Oh See's Candies... I remember as a kid my very first time I tried peanut brittle and fell in love with it. What I love most about this location is that the employees don't hesitate with free samples. You want to try the white chocolate raspberry? They'll be more than glad to give you a sample. Unsure about the milk chocolate filled with orange? They'll let you try any sample. I'm not that guy that tries a whole bunch of samples and then leaves, but with how generous Pat was (the nice old lady that provided me recommendations and samples) this place is a solid 4 star, almost a 5 star but there are some issues that may cause confusion to customers. The good: + Able to gift wrap your chocolates for free + HUGE selection of chocolates + Knowledgeable employees that provide good recommendations and which chocolate is most popular / most sold. + Generous with free samples + Very clean The bad: - Understaffed with only two employees working at a time - Can get pricey - Small place and can feel cramped at times The overall: While it's really difficult to get a 5 star out of me, See's Candies was very close to achieving that from me. While the prices can be costly, if you wanted to try every chocolate they have a $100 box that includes every chocolate they have with pictures shown to know what you're getting. The box is really big, but luckily they have a smaller version at a cheaper price, but it doesn't include all the chocolates. Overall, if you're craving some chocolates or want to give a loved one something special, you can't go wrong with See's Candies. read more

Update for COVID19. This shop has limited capacity and customers don't seem to care. Despite the multiple warning signs posted outside to wait to enter, multiple people walked past me and crowded into the shop. They weren't rebuked by staff. If you want to see entitlement, it's elderly gentlemen incensed that they can't get a free sample as usual. (The staff prepackaged samples and you take it at the end to eat outside or in your car.) Witnessed a little meltdown over this and then waited a very long time to checkout since payment policy is now exact change only for cash. The employee at the register processing cards couldn't get the register to work and kept touching people's cards without sanitization. Unless the capacity is further lowered -- because honestly, the space is too small to be safe for extended periods of time -- I won't be returning. read more

I went in because I was at the Starbucks nearby and kept seeing people with the bag so it made me think maybe the candy was good. So I went in and staff was very friendly. I was able to customize my box of chocolates. It's just that for me, it didn't taste of high quality chocolate? I guess it tasted more like the boxes of chocolates you could get at Walgreens. After having Ethel's chocolates before, there's just not much of a comparison. It's the kind of chocolate that hurts your throat if you have too much of it because it's way too sweet. Seriously!? This is a staple of my childhood. My grandma would take me to the mall in Phoenix and See's candy would be one of our stops so to have one fairly close is like heaven. There's obviously the original boxed sets, which are great for gifts for important days and holidays. It can get fairly pricey so there's also an option to create your own. My personal favorite is the assorted box, but what I really love is the scotch kisses in the "special order" area. Caramel with marshmallow....delish. It's a soft texture so if you like caramel that is hard, this is not your go to candy. I was so excited about finding See's close by and due to the pandemic I ordered early morning online for pickup. The website was easy to navigate and my order went through smooth. However the confirmation email said "wait to come to the store, we will let you know when your order is ready." I waited and waited until the afternoon still no email so I decided to drive to store (not far at all). When I arrived there may have been two people ahead of me (not sure, it wasn't a big deal). All staff wore masks and kept their distance. They now wear gloves instead of using tissue paper and I witnessed them change them before helping a new customer. They seem to be taking Covid very seriously, which I appreciate very much. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They're going through a little renovation, but the staff was more than willing to help me find the new places things were kept. This is my favorite location in all of Las Vegas/Henderson. They also keep it very clean! I visit here frequently and this is my experience every time. I have never had a bad experience. I thought it was time I finally left a review for the best candy store in the city! (I also have an autoimmune disease and get very scared to go in public. This is the store I always shop at as it is close to home. The service is mediocre at best. The sales ladies don't appear to be happy at work but they are not rude. I walk in and find my candies and check out and I am out the door within about five minutes. See's Candies have been around for as long as I can remember. My favorites are the bordeaux and molasses chips (both dark and milk chocolate). They have a pecan turtle but there is another candy company here in town who has them beat in terms of taste and size. There candies happen to be my Mom's favorite so I will continue to keep her stocked up for special occasions.
