Other than the parking lot circus on a Saturday morning, this Costco is exactly what I've come to expect from the chain, the kind of familiar interior that feels almost comforting once you're through the doors. It's the classic huge warehouse footprint with food items running down one whole side, the deli, bakery and fresh foods stretching across the back, and the kitchen and homewares anchoring the other side. The stacked bays rise to the ceiling like always, but the things you actually need are right at eye level so you're not hunting. I had a short list today and found all our usual favorites without any wandering. A package of smoked salmon, the blue eggs, that excellent canned tuna, and a block of the three year aged cheddar all went straight into the cart. As much as the $1.50 hot dog was calling my name, I skipped it and saved my appetite for a later stop on this morning's route, which felt like the right kind of discipline for a day that was already testing my patience. But then you step back outside and remember where you are. This shopping center is not easy to navigate even on a quiet day, and on a sunny weekend morning it becomes something else entirely. The short aisles are a challenge because people wait for a single space to open and in doing so block the entire lane, and the uneven grading means you're constantly rolling up or down as you try to find an escape route. The twisty lanes probably do keep speeds down, but they also make it harder to see what's coming, and finding an exit feels like solving a puzzle you didn't ask to play. If you can swing it, shop during less busy times like a Tuesday afternoon when the sun isn't drawing half of Matthews into the same parking lot. Weekend mornings with blue skies are bonkers, and no amount of inexpensive delicious food can fully take the edge off that particular adventure. I love Costco!! The employees are always so friendly here, I have yet to encounter a sour employee. Kirkland selection keeps growing which is nice because it's always cheaper than a name brand. Today I found my new obsession- Kirkland beef Jerkey! Low fat and high protein, can't beat it. I never wait for more than 2 minutes in a gas line with max 1 car in front of me. This is specific to the tire center and not the full store. John is pretty good at a bait and switch talking to him on the phone sounded like I was going to get help. After seeing him in person I was not helped. I bought my tires with him back when I first got a Costco membership and moved into the area. The tire service was fine but when it comes down to any road warranty good luck. They'll find some reason not to honor it. Always a good time at Costco. You find things you didn't know you needed. They are all one of a kind items only found at Costco. Warehouse shopping is fun with a surprise in every aisle. Entry is by membership so get one as it more than pays for itself. Think buying bulk items needed for a holiday gathering or a party. Customer service is good and I like the self checkout kiosks. Been coming here for over eight years. No organic bananas but the micro greens are delicious and way cheaper here than at Whole Foods. Don't come on the weekends it can feel like an airport. Pretty clean and the employees usually don't waste time. Watch out for the parking lot it's always crowded. read more

Still bad. Was looking at a front display right next to the greeters at the entrance. A lady with a baby plows into my left heel which was already a bad foot to begin with. As we were in line exiting , a gentleman employee was Pre- checking carts iof 10 or less. He marked my receipt but as I exited, I also showed the woman at the door(right) my marked receipt. Recommend: Yes Just visited this site with less than a week from Christmas, and on a Sunday. Though it was full of patrons, the Staff ushered the lines with expedience, courtesy and efficiency. Shelves were plentifully stocked, though nearly all of the Apple iMacs were out of stock already, the store looked clean and a buzz with thousands of people. Stood in the checkout line for less than 2 minutes so in MY book, that is a win for a mega-store like these. Forgot to buy the 'world-reNOWNED COSTCO Cheesecake'... So I need to go back! We approached the check out and was greeted by a very friendly cashier. He told us that the 6 pack of muffins we were buying were BOGO and i asked if it had to be muffins or if it could be cupcakes and he said yes cupcakes were fine. The 6 pack of cupcakes were $2 less than the muffins. My husband ran to the bakery to grab the 6 pack of cupcakes while I finished paying and when he came back to the resister, the cashier told us we were good to go. It being Friday night, 8/23/24 there was a line going out of the store. I handed my receipt to the guy at the door so he could check off my 4 items. He immediately said "How did y'all manage to get by with this?" And snatched the cupcakes out of our cart and placed them on a box behind him and said the BOGO for the muffins did not include the cupcakes even though the cashier told us it was fine and they were $2 less. We felt like criminals as we held up the line while people probably thought we had stolen something. The guy told us we were welcome to go get another 6 pack of muffins but that we couldn't have the cupcakes unless we paid for them. I asked to speak with a manager and he told us the same thing except he offered to go get another 6 pack of muffins for us. I left the cupcakes and told him I didn't want the muffins and hardly thought the two of us could eat a dozen huge muffins. He then suggested we could freeze them. It really made no sense....we were saving them $2 by getting the cheaper product...but instead we saved them $5 by taking neither. I guess I should thank them, because now I don't have those extra calories from the buttercream icing, but we don't appreciate being made feel like criminals and how he snatched the cupcakes from our cart in front of 2 lines of people waiting to exit the store. I generally love Costco and have been to this location about 50 times. Lately however, it just seems like some of the staff are less helpful and more concerned about their inconvenience. A little more southern hospitality and less southern sass please! They are definitely packing more merchandise in the store, which mean it's super crowded. You almost need IKEA opening weekend level crowd navigation skills just to make it through. I still love the products and value, but it's almost time to get an entry queue going. read more

I could write a love letter to Costco, but I already did that for my normal Costco. We were meeting a group for dinner in the area and had time to kill because we got there early so Costco was the obvious choice. It was a Wednesday night which is unfortunately a really bad time for free samples. They had a couple, but not many. Of course, this also means that it wasn't very crowded which was nice. We got a couple of things we need and of course found some extra things since we were browsing around (a dangerous activity at Costco). You can really get everything here. Clothes, kitchen stuff, car deals, travel deals, pharmacy, food, office supplies, furniture. The checkout process is great and fast even when the line is long. This Costco is what you would expect if you've been to other Costco's. Don't forget to get some gas before you leave! read more

This is my Costco of choice as I adore the people there as they make my day when checking out. I should be more specific and say I LOVE the cashiers because some of those folks giving out the samples act as if they are taking the food out of their children mouth if you try to get more than one sample. LIKE DUDE & DUDE-ETTE I do have a toddler and a husband that will be tasting with me before I purchase something off my individual tastebuds. The gas here is reasonably priced and I enjoy knowing the sections in which I can find any everything or at least I know the vicinity and could point someone in the direction of items they may be looking for. As a Business Black card holder it does get aggravating when I get that shocking reminder while at checkout that it's time to pay my renewal annual fee of $110 but HEY it's worth the money as there are several items I can only get at Costco so I need my membership to do so and my family enjoy our monthly shopping extravaganza and chance to discover something new read more

I'm not a member myself, but my mom is. They offer a good variety of items from electronics to clothing and bulk food items. I've purchased my netbook from here and it's still going strong (knock on wood). There have been a lot of times that we've had dinner here - not using the samples, but either grabbing a slice of pizza, hot dog and soda (for $1.50!!!!), they also have a chicken bake - a big version of a hot pocket with the pastry and chicken all rolled up. For a family of four to be able to eat "out" with 10-12 dollars is pretty amazing (drinks included). For a while now, we've been getting the pre-made salads that you can get in the food section in the back to be a little healthier. Gas here is super cheap as well. We always fill up here if we are in the area. Not as good as SC gas prices, but better than regular NC gas prices. Buying bulk is always a little intimidating, but you do save in the long run. It just takes some planning ahead, but I would definitely shop Costco rather than multiple trips to the store during a long period of time. read more

I love Costco. I have for years, even though you have to pay to shop there. I think the procedure is great, I have not had any trouble with it going bad quickly. Bakery is fresh , where else can you buy Croissants for 5.00! Love all the Cheeses, such a great variety. And the price of the cheese is fantastic. Nice location! Sunday is a great day to go you can get a ton of samples. Yes, it's crowded it's like everyone and their mama decided to go to Costco on a Sunday, but it's some good deals so I can see why. There is plenty of parking but the massive lot and shared lot next door at lows was crowded. The staff really work their butts off to get you through the check out Line in a timely manner and for that I am very appreciative. No one wants to stand in line forever. I hope other stores can take note and have a more efficient check out process. The location is prime where within walking distance (or a short drive) you can go to several other stores. I LOVE COSTCO. Everyone is usually very nice and helpful. From The staff at the gas pump, to the tire station, and all the associates inside the warehouse. I was having a great experience yesterday when I was there until one of the ladies that was serving was rude and totally ignored me. I was in the freezer section, looking at some burrito looking snacks. And to my surprise they were giving out samples of them at the end of the isle. I greeted her and asked if they were ready because she had them out. She just looked up at me and didn't say a word. I'm here to praise the pharmacy department. I called at 6:35 to refill a prescription for my son. He's a type one diabetic so it's literally a lifesaving prescription. We were completely out so I took a chance and asked if we could pick it up right away, assuming they'd tell me no because they close at 7. The gentleman on the phone told me they had it in stock and could get it ready before closing. They went above and beyond and did it with kindness too, which is in short supply these days. Great products, great service and unsurpassed warranty coverage. Of course, the usual discounted warehouse pricing applies. They dare you to leave without buying a footlong frankfurter and drink at the ridiculous price of a $1.50. They also have pizza for $1.99 a slice, soft serve yogurt for a $1.49 and Chicken Caesar salads for $3.99. Everything is tasty and prepared fresh but overall we just love Costco! read more

This store constantly moves staple items such as bread. I can only guess it's so shoppers have to go through the entire store and buy more but if you are in a hurry do not shop here. I just purchased a membership at Costco. First experience was horrible. I had to take my email to the Customer service desk to get my card (purchased online). I showed the clerk all the information he needed to see on my phone. He grabbed my phone out of my hand . He then asked for my Driver's License (fine) I handed him my License, he places my License on the counter (sir I put my DL in your hand not the counter). He then asked me to walk around for my picture for my card. After taking the photo he just walks off to get the printed card. He yells at me because I stood where he asked me to stand (guess he expected me to follow him). The section at Costco is very limited and wasn't what I wanted. The store is really good about adding more cashiers when the lines start getting long. And we love Gordon's friendly smile when is checking your receipt as you're exiting the store.
