1st part is for the Tire Dept. Big shout to Anibel who was promote (for obv reasons) and to Quan and Gusto. I recently went in and they were communicative and as accommodating as possible. I like that they inform me when I need to come back, making it easy for me to calendar. The pharmacy dept is fantastic. I had to go to CVS for a while and they are mostly (except 1 or 2) woefully inept, rude and have the worst operations. I have been to Tiburon (terribly rude) and went to Bon Air so overwhelmed and was told to wait in this line, then the other line and "Oh, go back to that line." Inane. The Costco pharmacy critcally think and are communicative and gracious. I had no idea just how much I would appreciate the Costco pharmacy, until I lost access to them. read more

Today was 2 stars based-on the my service from the automotive/tire shop. I called at 9:30am attempting to make an appointment but was not accommodated. After AAA came to put my spare on, I immediately headed to Costco to fix the tire now, easily accessible now in my trunk. I had the wheel lock ready and made everything simple. I dropped off the vehicle around 1215p and was given a 2 hour finish time. They finally called at 3:11pm to say it was done. (I had tried calling two hours in and no answer. )So I basically wandered Costco warehouse for 3 hours waiting for my single tire warranty repair as an Executive member. Picking up the car was also disjointed, they didn't know which technician did the work or have my invoice ready. Very disorganised! Needless to say, I felt very disappointed today, wasting a great deal of time on a seemingly simple repair. I definitely did not feel like a valued member. On our weekend drives through Marin County, we often pass by this Costco location, and many times we stop to pick up a few essentials for the week. I find this place to be well-stocked and well-managed. The racks are neatly organized and well maintained. It is often as crowded as you would expect, but definitely not as busy as our local Costco in San Francisco, so it has quickly become a favorite stop of ours. Went shopping for ingredients for "Beef Stew!" Like any other COSTCO location, it is always busy with shoppers ! The only frustrations I have is when shopping I have to scout each aisles for items I need! The Aisle Number doesn't really help... general list of the items at these aisles is a must. Several months ago the pharmacy I had used for over twenty years went out of business and I needed a new pharmacy. There was only one other choice here, and they are horrible, so I took a chance with the Costco Pharmacy. From the very first day forward, for the past seven months everything has gone very smoothly. They handle prior authorizations, formulary exceptions and Part B Medicare prescriptions. I don't like to pick up in person, as that process seems cumbersome, but I do love that my meds can now go in to a locker! That process has gotten smoother, and occasionally, I send someone on my behalf to pick up what can't be put in a locker. Great service. As for everything else at Costco, I order online and they deliver via a third party, and the service is excellent. I highly recomment Costco. read more

Grabbed fresh beef chucks, beef bulgogi, rotisserie chicken (of course), box of baclava. white nectarine, cheese and sugarless liquid IV (really works for me). Looked for chocolate powder mix (Swiss) but they're out of it. Definitely hot dog on the way out & still $1.50 with cup of drink? (can't beat that). We live about 20 mons from this Costco. It is becoming more and more obvious that the deals/prices may not be worth the drive. A couple of examples: the bananas are $.83/lb and you have to buy quite a few, pretty green bananas. They are $.88/lb at our local super market and we don't have to big as many. Same with asparagus, $3.49/lb and you need to buy quite a bit - they are actually cheaper at supermarket now. And bread - you mist buy 2 loaves and they are $4.50ish a loaf, mushrooms are same price and quantity as supermarket. There are some deals, but more and more not worth the drive/cost of gas. I suppose this is a result of tariffs? And the selection has dwindled - no more veggie cauliflower crust pizzas, or spinach & cheese raviolis - things we actually make the drive for. Oh, and warning - DO NOT get prepared sushi - it is disgusting. Tastes fishy, really awful. Also, we were here between 10:30-11:15 on a Thursday and it was dead - hardly any wait at checkout. So management shut down most of the checkout lanes which cause very long lines. Thank goodness we didn't have any alcohol this trip so we could go thru self checkout. And no more silverware at the food counter so if you buy anything to munch on the way home, it better be finger food. read more

The prices are competitive and discounted for those on a budget. ***Also huge shout out to the Costco Pharmacy- especially Lisa and Bobbie, who are consistently helpful. This is a nice Costco. It can be a little crowded at times compared to the Emeryville or Santa Rosa Costco. It is smaller. Their assortment of products is good. I wish they would continue to carry the mole skin black journals, but you have it all I guess. Their staff is nice and very helpful. I suggest going in the late afternoon early evening because there are a lot fewer shoppers during those times and if you need something from another store, target is in the area and not far away. Is Safeway Whole Foods in Trader Joe's in Novato, making it easy to pretty much do a month worth of shopping in a 5 mile radius. read more

The optical department is awesome! Came in with my rx from my optometrist and was helped quickly and she was super friendly. Was able to take advantage of a buy one get second pair for $50 off deal and got a regular eyeglass and sunglass - so I can see clearly in all conditions. Wow! Affordable and fast. New kiosk to grab and go with your glasses - easy. I think it was around $350 total and sadly my optometrist I'd be lucky to get one pair for that. Appreciate Costco for keeping it affordable so people can have basic needs met and heck grab a chicken bake on the way out! read more

"They're all the same" No they're not. Really. This one seemed a little smaller than the ones I've gone to in the past. Is it though? No idea. Evidently this one doesn't have a fuel station. I didn't need fuel so that didn't matter to this review. It does carry multiple items that you don't see all over. If I wanted to artisan out for the week, I could have picked up some mad epic bro Cowgirl Creamery cheese. Haven't seen that anywhere else. Not all of the coolers are behind glass doors. Big whoop. Stopped by the In-N-Out for lunch at the Vintage Oaks Shopping Center and saw that there was a Costco there. I love checking out Costco when visiting other areas to see what different products and local products they might carry. Here on a weekday afternoon, the store was not crowded and unusual local items I noticed were several varieties of craft coffee and whole Coho salmon at a great price. However, I was hoping to get gas, but his location does not have a gas station. Glad I was able to check out another Costco. read more

This Costco does not have a gas station, I know right! However, it's less hectic than the other Costco's. Other locations make it feel like the "Amazing Race". It does have a tire center, which is good since there are other stores to shop around while waiting for tires in this shopping center i.e., Nordstrom Rack, Marshall's, Target, Sephora, Old Navy, etc. It's nice to be able to order food from the food court at the checkout stands. Self check-out is also a nice touch (finally)! They sure didn't have self-checkout stands when I had babies, and all I needed were diapers & formula. My neighborhood Costco for past 10 years. Always cheerful and happy staff here. I get to practice my Spanish at the check out with Irene and she is so friendly and thank me for speaking Spanish. What prompted my review is for the tire center. First time I got tires here, great deal, service, and crazy 5 year warranty? I have fast cars with summer tires, they don't last more than 20k miles so that warranty is awesome for flat repairs and defects. All the guys at the tire shop were busy working hard, they don't answer the phone so go up to the counter and wait and talk to them. I tried calling several times to check on my ordered tires. Costco tires is picky, can mix match brands and models of tires, makes sense for safety reasons. Had to get 4 new staggered tires for the $150 Michelin sale that comes up several times a year. My front right tire was fairly new due to it being replaced premature by a blow out on the freeway. Asked them to keep that tire for me, I can use it as emergency or give it to one of my friends if this blow out happens. Costco guys bagged it up neatly and put it in the trunk. Great service and got my new tires asap the same day it arrived. Super awesome to them! read more

Yesterday at the Novato store I purchased a two pack of Claritin. My current bottle, which I also bought at Costco expires 2/2026. I get home, open the package and to my surprise these two bottles expire in 4 months, 6/2025!!! Now I have to go back to Costco, spending my gas and tome because they left these on the shelf! as much as we like costco and spent a good amount of money there monthly, very disappointed with there return policy. Apparently it is not the same as it said on their website. This store has different rules. They don't except everything for return within a year (or 90 days) period and you need to have the receipt for the item you returning. otherwise you don't get a refund a same way as you paid for. Not to talk about I always have to explain why I'm returning it. Also, it makes a difference who's returning it. It says very clearly on the website: You can return anything within one year (90 days) no questions asked and without receipt for a full refund. read more

I don't usually write negative reviews but I went to the membership counter and was helped by Dee. She was weirdly aggressive about trying to get me to purchase their executive membership. I politely declined many times before she told me that I was "shooting myself in the foot" for using their Gold Star Membership. She then told me that I couldn't get a physical card unless I downloaded the app in front of her. I politely told her I did not want to download the app and she repeatedly told me I had to, but my mother in law was signing up right next to me and did not have to or have any issues. Then, the woman who took my picture also snarkily asked why I would buy the Gold Star Membership. Hopefully I never have to go to the membership desk again considering they put their rudest employees there! read more

We have been shopping at Costco Novato for as long as it has been open. We've noticed the price hike, the shrinking bags, and the lack of variety in the bakery area. But one thing we appreciated was the pleasant employees and the customer service. Sadly, that is no longer the case. Don't get me wrong, the long time employees continue to provide the same level of service but the new cashiers and baggers are something to reckon with. But when I picked them up, I said this was first pair of glasses when she asked if I had any questions. Not until I got home was I told they should have fitted them to me. On my first trip ever to this Costco I sat comfortably in a shopping cart being pushed around by my mom. Yes, I've been shopping here for a very long time. It's packed on the weekends so I try to shop on weekdays if possible, but sometimes it's still crowded. Of course I always look forward to the samples!! That's what Costco is known for. The number of samples can vary, there are times where they only have a couple samples and other times there's plenty. Some of the staples I buy are coffee, paper towels, toilet paper, olive oil, produce, meat, and eggs. The pharmacy is quick and convenient. When I call to refill my prescription, it's usually ready for pick up the next day. The food court has many food options to choose from. Items are changed out every so often like a couple of my favorites: the very berry smoothie and Portuguese hotdogs. It's easy to spend $100 or more on a Costco run and membership prices have gone up $10 recently. There's something gratifying about buying big boxes of food and household items. Security and most of the workers at the door in general are incredibly rude. However customer service and returns are pleasant folks. The rest of the store is about what you'd expect. One thing I do appreciate immensely is a cashier saw how few items I had waiting in a massive line of people and she opened another check stand to help me unprompted. I got a 7lb bag of Bobs Red Mill oats for around $13 and a 4 pack of salmon risotto for ~$10. Each pack of risotto was easily a full meal, all I did was steam some broccoli to mix in with it (so only about $2.50 per meal, not bad for salmon!). I checked when I got home and the oats cost twice the price anywhere else. I was wondering if getting a Costco membership was worth it as a single person but I'd already say that it is. read more

We didn't try any , but that's progress . I love the produce , cheeses , Olive oils and some of the seafood and meat . The wine , bubbly , and spirits also , so well stocked & some good value . Haven't hit the food court in several years , I know this is a popular draw . I do like the Churros, for sure , but I never like the hot dogs , they just don't work for me .
