We love this Costco. We used to drive to it even though the Mettawa location was closer to us because of the 0% food tax in Wisconsin and the friendlier atmosphere in Wisconsin compared to Illinois. However, I've encountered a clearly racist employee at the exit before here, and I dread seeing her whenever she's working. Typically, I am able to return/exchange products without hassle. This Costco is awful about returns. I tried to return (or even exchange) a box of items, with multiple defects. The woman working the customer service counter was not about it. She wanted me to walk back to grab a box of the same item, open the new box to swap out the defected items. What? Just take my box of jacked up items & give me the new box..? Thankfully, this is not my Costco, we were in the area. Costco in Lake in the Hills is where it's at. read more

BUYER BEWARE! Costco offers the same products online that they do in the warehouse. But the price online is jacked up to offer free shipping. But then there is a MANUFACTURER'S savings discount online, which they do NOT honor in the store. If it's a manufacturer's discount, what's the explanation for not giving the consumer the same discount in the store? They couldn't explain any of that other than: Costco warehouse and Costco online are two separate entities. Seriously? Did you know this? News to me. But, you can use your Costco membership card at both "entities", so how do they get away with this?! IF ANYONE CAN FIGURE THIS OUT, please by all means explain it to me...because no one that works in the store there today could explain it intelligently and I'm apparently just an ignorant customer... SLOW- what is the point of having appointments if I am still waiting for hours to get my snow tires put on?! The Costco Tire Center used to have great customer service, but now they are so busy that they cannot handle the capacity and their service has gone through the floor. I LOVE Costco, but this Costco in Pleasant Prairie is so disappointing. On several occasions the produce has been expired or simply rotten. Today November 25th I saw a box of 1% Organic Milk that expired October 25th. They have also been gradually taking away several products over this past year. Skippy Peanut Butter, Nestle Chocolate Chips and now today Naked Drinks, just to name a few of the items I have purchased regularly. I do have to say though that the staff are truly amazing. Like all Costco stores the staff are ALWAYS so pleasant and helpful. This location is more convenient for our family, but I will now be going out of my way to the location in Mettawa where I have NEVER had any of these issues. I'm sorry Costco people, but I'm hoping that posting this complaint on this platform will help make the right people aware to make some serious changes. read more

Tried to return Kirkland brand pads - I had 3 that clearly proved that they were defective- pads were sealed folded. The female advised me to purchase another pack and she would give 3 good pads from the pack, when I asked her to do so she refused. From my understanding Costco allows you to return upon dissatisfaction. Ended up leaving with no refund and the defective pads. Very disappointed with how the situation was handled. I have returned molded food via a picture and was refunded. read more

I like coming to this Costco, but only because it is closer. It is similar to the other ones I've been to except for the fact the entrance is on the right, versus the left (Glenview Costco). Getting gas isn't a huge ordeal here. Every time I've stopped here for gas, I have very minimal to no wait. I was on a search to find a set of lamps as a wedding gift the next day and the only place it was available was Pleasant Prairie. I called them and they said they had the floor model. The problem was, I am 45 min away driving time in Illinois, and my daughter just happened to be coming home from college in Milwaukee. I talked to the manager Maria, and asked if I could have her pick them up on her way home and send her my Costco card via text. Maria was very gracious and said they would hold the item for her in the cage. My daughter picked up the item which saved me time, aggravation and I know the couple will love this item! Went in with my sister liked the products decided to get a membership. I asked to squeeze through was asked to leave my cart. I had my 6 year old disabled son with me. I let them know he was immobile, and it's difficult to move him in and out the cart. Instead of taking the groceries out of my cart they asked me to move my 40lb son. So I take him out and plop him over my shoulder while I struggle to fill out the membership app, the woman at the door brings me my cart back. At this point I had explained to her it's not easy to put him in and out the cart. So my sister sees me struggle getting him back in the cart. She runs back to help. I then get ready to pay for my membership when I am informed they only accept American Express... Sigh. I tell the cashier thank you. Proceed to walk out while the same rude door lady says... Oh you didn't want the cart?! I tell her no, I wasn't aware you only take AMEX... Then she says oh you don't have a debit card?! So she not only offends me by making me move my disabled son she has to insult me about the cart and pry about my debit card?! I will never return to this store ever again. Maybe Costco can give their employees some sensitivity training. Possibly get a more personable person to work your front door. read more

Here is why it gets 3 stars. 1- You would think that a store would want to distinguish itself from another very similar store that also sales bulk. Why? Well because the other competitor charges 5.00 less for a one year membership. 2. When you speak with customer service about the membership they have to be trained or told that they should get people to do the better membership because of all the perks and the best part of that is you can get another credit card along with that. Who else in America needs another credit card? 3. Direct-TV employees do I have to say anymore? Also I did not have a membership and managed to sneak by the person that checks for that. read more

I am ecstatic about the new Costco in Pleasant Prairie! It's at a great location and has all my favorite products! My Favorites: clothing detergent & softener, organic ground beef, organic eggs, organic sliced apples, sheet cakes, already cooked chicken skewers (by deli), nitrate free lunch meat, organic butter, annie's cheddar bunnies, skinny pop, take n bake pizza, tires and sensible living eco trash can. We've had memberships at the competitor twice before and in my opinion, Costco is absolutely 100% better. The "other store" appears to have a contract with certain conglomerates and sells mostly their products, i.e. kashi, quaker, etc. Costco offers a better selection of gluten free, organic and non-gmo products. I also love the executive membership with the credit card. In 1 year we earned more than the cost of the membership. read more

Ok...I love this store. It beats Sam's Club hands down! Courteous Associates and great bargains. I would have given it 5 stars; however, tonight we bought Rotisserie Chicken Salad at the deli/sandwich bunker. When we got it home and began making sandwiches, we noticed immediately, the chicken breasts weren't chopped. Some of it was minced, but the majority of it was just layed in the container in 2 pound pieces! It wasn't chicken salad, it was Birdzilla salad! Someone in back decided they weren't cutting it up anymore. Also, recommend you add some walnuts and grapes next time! read more

I think this is a wonderful store with a wide variety of everything for everyone. I agree, like the other reviewers that this is based on family sized portions and qualities, so a family of two is hard pressed to go through 5 lbs of organic spinach before spoiling. Worst experience I've ever had at an Eyecare office/facility. Long story short version: Great exam...horrible experience with the actual glasses...returned them both...very rude staff...shouldn't be working in any area of the medical field whether it's vision or anything else...they don't know how to listen to the customer or fix problems that exist. Exam went very well, staff was nice in making the appointment and doctor seemed to do well as far as I could tell. When I left that day, I thought everything went really well. Then, the bad part came. I should mention that if you're not getting progressive lenses, you might have a much more positive experience and/or if your glasses happen to be made correctly, it might be OK too. So, I go in to pick up the glasses, try on the "driving" sunglasses first and I can't see anything out of the outer half of either lens. I am told by the optical lady, "that's just the way they are" and she asks if I no longer want them then. I tell her that, if I have zero periphial vision, it won't work for driving, so if that's "just the way they are", they won't work. She goes to return both pairs of glasses which is when I ask to try on the other pair. They were night and day different. I could see perfectly fine out of the sides with supposedly the same prescription. That's when they finally decided not to just attack me for not being able to deal with the glasses and them being "just the way they are" and actually examine the glasses which is when they realize they were made incorrectly. So they said they would "send them back to the lab" ....surprisingly, even though making the glasses initially takes a week and a half, the glasses "arrived" within just 3 days (I have a feeling they weren't sent out at all since they "came back" with exactly the same issue as they originally had. Either way, they were terrible. To boot, the other glasses which were fine for distance vision were horrible for using the computer which I depend on every day. I couldn't see the computer at all no matter how many times I tried to move my eyes up and down back and forth to find the "sweet spot" that is supposed to be there where you can see. That said, the "manager" of the optical takes the glasses and marks two small circles, each the size of a pea, and says that's the only part of the glasses that will allow you to read, so, if you want to read on the computer, or anything else, you had to get your eyes to hit that small, pea sized spot otherwise, the entire rest of the lens wasn't going to work for reading. She did mention that there is a "spot" on the lens that allows you to read the computer but didn't bother to mark that with her handy little marker. What bothers me most I guess is that they right away ask if you've ever used the progressive lenses before and automatically tell you "that's just the way they are" without even checking to be sure the glasses were even made correctly. In this case, my $10 over the counter, Wal-Mart reading glasses work better than the $200+ glasses that I had received at Costco. Pretty pathetic. Overall, very, very bad customer service in the optical department. Had it been another optical place, I believe the situation could have been resolved by either making the glasses correctly in the first place or at least acknowledging the mistake and fixing it. In this case, they blame the customer and don't fix the problem. All around a bad way to do business and/or implement health care. I will never go back there again for optical care...To leave it on a "positive" note, they were happy to take the glasses back and refund my money. I should say that one of the store managers was helpful in trying to get the problem fixed, but in the end, it would have depended on the optical staff being kind and actually fixing the glasses which I realized just wasn't going to happen. read more

I am a fan of Costco Pleasant Prairie. The workers are friendly and pleasant and I really never had a problem. Lately the Costco famous chicken seem to be loosing it's luster. Today I purchased a chicken that didn't appear to be cooked thoroughly and properly. It was pale and had very little browning on the skin. I questioned the worker and he stated that chicken are cooked until internal temperature reaches 185 degrees. Reluctantly I continued with my purchase. After getting home my fears turned into reality . It was not thoroughly cooked . I called the store and told them of the problem and got a lecture on what the chicken was supposed to look like. Juices running clear etc. I was told to return it to the store and I would get a refund. However being 18 miles away it was not worth my while to drive that distance to return a $6.00 chicken. My purpose for calling was to alert the store of a problem that could turn into a catastrophe if someone got sick for eating a not thoroughly cooked chicken . This is just a bump in the road and will not deter me from shopping at the store. However I am sure it will have a great influence on purchasing a rotisserie chicken again. read more

Nice people. OK pricing on some items, especially vitamins. For a 2 person family, the fresh material is packaged in too large of quantity. Most clothing is from China and that is one of the few bargains. The prices are not much better than other stores and on many items higher. No deals on cell phone service or glasses. Gas comes out to 1 cent a gallon less than Quik Trip. I was told it would be 5 cents or more when we had a sign up day at work. Doubtful we will renew our membership read more
