11-01-2021 I had just received my new frames, and that same night I didn't take them off before I went to sleep so of course I woke up to me having bent my frames. I took them in expecting to have to buy new ones which kinda sucked. Mark ended up helping me out and talking to him wasn't like talking to a regular worker doing his job, he listened and was very nice, did everything super quickly and professionally. Whoever does hiring for Costco is doing a great job and the people working the store are doing a great job as well, loved my experience. Seems strange to go to Costco when on vacation but let me tell you, one of the benefits for being a member is, there are usually a Costco in each state or at least where we have travelled to. We are vacationing in Siesta Key, FL and needed more food. Go figure, we still eat a lot. And we don't eat out too often for several factors: cost, health, time, experience. Eating out is huge in the budget. This is something I learned early in my college life. The more I ate out, the more I had to work to pay for those expenses. But we all need to eat, and I LOVE to eat and can eat a lot! Maybe it's my upbringing with having to finish everything on our plate and the fact that we cook enough to feed an army. Feel bad for those all-you-can-eat buffet restaurants when my family gets together. Anyhow, Costco with its bulk tends to have lower prices on main staple items - like cagefree eggs, definitely! Organic meat and veggies/fruits, the prices are reasonable. They may not always be the cheapest and sometimes the fact you'll be buying them in large quantity size plays a factor. It's the reason I didn't get the ribeye steak that looked good and Honey would have loved to have steak for New Year's dinner, but I doubt he'd want to have steak for every single meal for the remaining week. Plus, I already bought the multipack organic ground beef, the high end sausage, and the rotisserie chicken and the two dozen of eggs. Yeah, we aren't vegan. Health is other factor and if you think our cholesterol is bad, hmm I haven't checked in a year but due to Honey's autoimmune, we know he's limited to what he should avoid. Great tasting restaurant food usually contains those extra items that taste great but not good for his system so we cook our own food knowing what's inside. It's the reason for organic berries and spinach which I got at Costco. I'm bummed that they seemed to have stopped carrying organic kale (since spring 2018) which is a main staple in his diet. It's great to see they even carry lots of gluten free items like bread, snacks, etc though we still need to monitor what else is inside. And major kudos for the number of organics meat/veggies/fruits. So Costco helps with costs and health (and not eating out all the time helped save money so that Honey could retire early). Now time & experience are funny here. I've met many couples or families who shop together here and have dates here - lol! Guess it's like going to the mall together. Costco has everything - pharmacy, electronics, furniture, clothes, besides the food. Yeah, tires, etc too. My Honey doesn't like coming that often and I'm glad or else he may purchase some garage item. But, we've bought some stuff here for the family for experiences - snorkels, books and they carry food and items relevant to the local area. (In Hawaii, they had poke!). I actually bought walking sandals there and yesterday bought the walking shoes since the one I have has hiked many many miles and needed to be replaced and they had shoes with memory foam for only $20! They had all season boots too but I don't need them WHICH is a challenge at Costco to NOT buy things you don't need. . . Or better yet, I rather put my money where my mouth is, and head to the snack areas with all the nuts, trail mix, chocolate covered items! This Costco is actually part of the Sarasota Square Mall! It was a bit confusing at first to find it. I did fill up my gas tank, I passed all the folks buying their liquor for NYE, and those that had firecrackers that were probably the ones shooting it over the water. Just drive to the southern part of the Sarasota Square. I didn't see any signs for it and GPS simply left you on the corner where the Mall can be seen. I figured it had to be where everyone else was driving and was right. Signage would have been my main suggestion yet the employees were real nice as Costco's are different from each other and I was getting my steps in trying to find their room with the eggs and milk like they have in Greenville SC. The Costco auto program with Honda Wilde Sarasota is a scam. Honda Wilde in Sarasota gives you the Retail Price that is $3000 more than Costco promised and $3000 more, then MSRP price. Then, of course they add all the fees and taxes, as usual. They told me that the price is $3000 more because they calculate a pinstripe, nitrogen filled and Cargo Tray? I think Costco should pick its partner more choicely. By the way: Why do you calculate a pinstripe for a new car? Nitrogen filled tires maximum $160 Cargo Tray $80 How could it be $3000? read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had in a store. I was there as a guest of a friend. I picked up toilet paper and paper towels as did my friend. There were no posted signs as to one per membership card. When we got to the check out I was attacked by two men who worked there. They were yelling at me, saying I can't have the items in my cart. Nothing was explained they just tore everything out of my cart and ran off with it to the back of the store. I really felt like I was being treated as a criminal. People were staring. It was quite embarrassing. Thankfully the cashier was very apologetic and explained the policy. I think Costco could have posted signs at the entrance and/or at the paper good isle. The store is fine, for the most part, however, the pharmacy leaves a lot to be desired. After leaving Maryland and arriving here, I transferred all my prescriptions to this pharmacy. I was told that they had already reached their limit of customers for certain meds and then I was told they would not accept my Good Rx. They take their lunch break, whenever they want, not the designated posted time. So be prepared to go and either not be open or not be able to fill your prescriptions. In addition to the incompetence their attitudes speak volumes when it comes to poor customer service. When asked a question they are uncomfortable with or have no answer, they look down and ignore it. I had to ask several times about the prescriptions not being filled and then I got a shrug of the shoulders, head down and "I don't know. None of us know, so you'll just have to deal with that." Won't be going back to that pharmacy until it is revamped from top to bottom! read more

This Costco has a lot of good deals and I can't help but to like all of the free samples they give away. The lines at the registers seem to be better but at peak times they should have more people working. Two things that really annoy me about Costco: #1 - They get a food item in for 4-6 months and you look forward to buying it all of the time but then out of the blue you return and it's out of stock, never to be seen again. #2 - Lack are shopping cart return stalls. You have to just leave your shopping cart in the middle of the parking lot. All in all, the membership is worth the savings because Costco can save you a lot of money, especially the gas. read more

I have been a member 19yrs , have had overall good experience with Costco Nationwide.they have quirks about adding an additional card Member to your account,Saraosota store gave me a hard time adding my friend without showing proof we lived together, Mgr finally gave approval but not without a lot of effort. Their merchandise is quality And have great return policy, I think standing in line to check your Purchases and refusing allow you leave without " proof" you paid For merchandise in your cart is bit antiquated for high end store, checker at Sarosota store actually blocked the cart because I couldn't find the second part of a two piece receipt. We understand they have rules but following them to letter of law I think sometimes is carrying It bit far ,for $120 a year they are a bit too strong. read more

I really hope someone at Costco sees this review. I love to BBQ and grill and this is the 3rd Costco that I've been a member of. This one has the absolute WORST meat department I have ever seen. They don't carry full packer briskets or bone-in rib eyes and their steaks look like they were butchered by a 5 year old using safety scissors. Honestly, the steaks look horrible 9 out of 10 times. Absolutely ZERO quality control. We are looking at joining Sams just because of the meat department. Most of the guys at the tire department are rude. I've bought tires from this location twice but never again. They've lost my order, didn't get my order in and are just generally jerks. And I guess because it's Florida (elderly), the people eating free samples clog the aisles while they eat lunch and dinner. Some of them don't even have carts as they come to Costco just to eat free samples, not shop. I call the sample stations "bait stations" and I call the people that eat there "grazers". My wife and I have learned to go on Friday nights because there are less sample stations, which equals less grazers. I will say that the inside employees at this location (not the tire guys) are really nice and helpful. I just wish they would do something with their meat department. My boyfriend told me to go to Costo to get a quote on tires as a birthday present. After finding their quote to be slightly less than Walmart we decided to get them there. BIG MISTAKE! 1) When I went in with the written quote they said "oh no that is not an accurate quote". After haggling with them, they finally agreed to the written quote. 2) Then it takes forever to get the tires installed. 3) Don't even think of coming here to get your tires rotated, because you will have a long wait in line to get to customer service and a long wait to have it done. After all this the 65,000 mile tires wore out after just 10,000 miles, so I came in to see what can be done. Nothing!! They blamed it on my vehicle. A newer Toyota Rav4. So I went inside to talk to the manager of the store. He came and took a look and took pictures and then pawned the problem on to his expert tire person who would call me on Monday (2) days later. 2 Months later no call. Not impressed. I was in Sarasota visiting my parents, telling them how great Costco is back home in Virginia. So we stop in, I show them around, and they decide to become members. They also decide to buy some Christmas lights. As we're checking out, I hand my Costco card to the cashier. My father pulls out his debit card, and the cashier says, "Oh no, has to be the same name." I reply that it's the same last name, and they are with me. "Doesn't matter." "OK..." I reply, " does the cash have to be mine as well?" Without grasping any of the irony, the brainless cashier says, "Well I guess that's OK." We pay and leave -- and my parents decide NOT to become members. I've done this 20 times in Virginia, even used to use my girlfriend's card, different last names. Never an issue. So I know this is neither a PCI nor Costco corporate issue, and I suspect it's not a store issue; I'm pretty sure it was just an irritable cashier trying to annoy us. Mission accomplished. read more

Ordered tires online. I got shipping and delivery notification of the tires. I waited a couple of days expecting a call from Costco to set up an appointment (web site says they would call). Finally I called them to be told the first appointment was 10 days out. Took the car in and on picking it up 3 hours later was told the tires were never delivered. But I had delivery confirmation. They must have sold them out from under me. They never notified me they didn't have the tires so I wasted an afternoon. I've been a VIP member for years and have generally happy with Costco but this experience has me thinking maybe BJ's? Very dissatisfied with encounter! read more

We have been customers of Costco for years, both in the United States and South Korea. The customer service at store number 1123 in Sarasota is below sub-standard. On 10/02/2022 my wife and I returned a Firman Generator (962.99) which we purchased for the Hurricane but did not use it. I am a 100 percent disabled combat veteran and I asked for assistance removing the unused generator from our vehicle. When the employees attempted to remove it they dropped it on the hand cart. When I attempted to get our refund the female working the desk displayed a severe attitude with my wife who is a US citizen naturalized from South Korea. So the manager (name unknown/ no no tag) Accused us of attempting to return the item after using it. Some time during COVID these people lost their minds and now think they can treat people anyway they want. The manager asked for my card and went away only to return, telling rude customer service rep # 614 (Sher A.) that we were "Good Customers" and to take care of us. After our money was refunded I filed 2 complaints with Costco and have heard nothing from them. read more

We have been Costco members for over 20 years in Atlanta and were delighted when they came to Sarasota. During that time we have bought everything from indoor and outdoor furniture, tires, hearing aids, large and small appliances, electronics, clothing, sports equipment, wine, and of course food and pharmacy items. You would be amazed at what they have online. Most of their items ship free, (except computers) and can be returned to the store. We feel like they get the best of the best in everything they offer and always know that if a product does not meet our expectations, it can be returned, no questions asked. In all of our experiences, everyone has been upbeat and happy to help even when there are crowds. Their wine prices are especially fantastic. Last year, I purchased wine for about $8/bottle that was selling for $23/bottle at the super wine store near the Sarasota Costco. Some reviewers have complained about credit card purchases not being able to be made with a different name than the membership, hello.... credit card fraud and identity theft are rampant. They monitor their gas pumps every 30 minutes to make sure there are no scanning devices.Their policies protect you. As a member, you can always purchase and be paid back by your family or friend. We rarely purchase anything without checking to see if it is available at the store or online. read more

I love Costco and this one is wonderful. The lines are rarely ever long, unlike the one in PA where they were constantly through the store. I love the samples even though they end up causing me to buy more stuff. They always have amazing prices, like the $26 Tommy Bahama beach chairs with cooler pouch, I saw them on Amazon for $50.
