I usually wait for Costco's deals on Michelin tires, which can save me between $70 and $150 on a new set. But this review is being written because I just recently discovered that the Costco Tire Center offers tire services for up to five years, including repairs for punctures. After returning from a trip abroad, my car that was parked outside the whole time, had a nail in one of the tires. I initially called a roadside service insurance to come and patch it, but the air continued to leak. So I scheduled an appointment with Costco Tire Center, online. They had appointments within a couple of days. I dropped it off on-time, they diagnosed the issue and fixed it properly- I was in an out in under 1.5 hr. They even advised me that in the future, I should just have mt roadside insurance service tow my car directly to them for a more effective repair. Best of all, there was no charge since it was covered under warranty. I'm floored with their service and will continue to purchase my tires from them! read more

Requested my free tire rotation. Service was good. I can't recall if I got a call when it was done but I was pleased it was done smoothly.

I ordered tires and when they came, took the car in. after a couple of hours of waiting since I have not scheduled it, They initially looked at the tires while the car was on the ground and said I didn't need a tire replacement and I should return the tires. So told him on the phone to go ahead and cancel the appointment, return the tires, and refund me. I had already left. by the time I returned Somehow they checked the tires again and found that they were unevenly worn out and they did actually need to be replaced. By this time it had been 2 to three hours. Awful experience! I had an appointment on Friday morning at 10:00. I got there at 10:15 due to traffic. When I arrived they said it was ok and took my car keys to put 4 new tires on my car. Ms. C. Said she would call me when it was ready and asked if I could put a red plastic marker on top of my car. So,at 3:00 I go to the Costco Tire Center to inquire about my car. They then tell me we did not touch your car! You were late by 15 minutes! Mr. S. Says this happens when people are late! He told me to come back in the morning at 10:15 am Saturday morning. I arrived on time. They then told me the tires were not ordered!! I asked for my money back!! Why would they have asked me to come for them to install the tires when they never ordered them since June 6 th when I bought the tires??? I give them one star for refunding my money back. read more

I went to the Tire Center for TPMS light and a screw that's very visible on the back left tire. During check in, the guy even marked it on paper where the screw is located. After 1 hr, they confirmed that I needed new TPMS sensors. Since I was close to my next tire rotation and they're going to remove the tires anyway, I requested them to rotate my tires as well. The guys said yes. After waiting for 2 hrs, they said it was done! Got to my vehicle and TPMs light is fixed but the screw on the tire is still there...on the same spot, back left. So it means, they didn't rotate the tire and didn't even touch the screw. They took the car again. After 2 hours, they said it's all fixed. I noticed that they took the screw out, plugged the tire from the outside and the tire that was now repaired is still on the same location. So they still didn't rotate the tires! So after 5 hours, I complained but the tech i insisted that they rotated it. I said how? At this point, I gave up and was too tired to wait anymore. Horrible experience! if not for the warranty, I wish I don't have to come back ever! read more

Absolutely the worst tire center at a Costco by far. They require appointments now for a tire rotation and balance and it's been 3 hours for them to get this done. This is inexcusable. Terrible experience. First, I bought 2 tires in person. They stated the tires will be shipped to them in 3 days and I will receive a phone call to let me know once the tires arrived. I was in standby for 5 days, never received a phone call so I called them and was told my tires were there. I scheduled my appointment for the next day. They only had 5:00 pm available so I had to take that time. I showed up the next day at 4:00 pm. 1 hour earlier. The guy at the service desk who assisted me was very rude. He was not yelling at me however the way he was treating me was very unpleasant and made me feel very uncomfortable. I stated I was dropping off my car for installation. He looked at me and said "did you receive a phone call or a text message for pick up?". I repeated to him very nice and calm "I'm not picking up, I'm dropping off my car". Then he said "well then I need to clean my ears". I don't think that was funny at all, especially be side he wasn't even smiling when he said that. He said it with a tone. After asking for my information, he looked in the system and said "why are you here so early if your appointment is at 5:00 pm?". I told him I was in the area and decided to just take care of it because I was already there. Additionally, I am not sure why an appointment is needed if they still give you a number (regardless of having an appointment). It makes no sense! They take care of a lot of walk ins. So they will just take care of your car depending on the number they assign to you upon your arrival. After waiting a long time, I finally received a phone call from a technician stating "we can't take care of your car". I said "what do you mean? His response was that my car was there for tires rotation and I actually needed to replace 2 tires, so I needed to buy the tires and come back a different day. I told him that I did buy the tires and my car was there for installation not for tires rotation. My car's dealership takes care of the maintenance and my tires rotation as well. That's not what I needed. Per the technician, the person who assisted me at the front desk, created a ticket for my car for tires rotation, not installation. The technician was able to look in the system that I did buy the tires and he then he said he will take care of my car. The entire process took almost 3 hours. It's ridiculous to have an appointment and wait 3 hours for them to change 2 tires. It is unacceptable to have an appointment when they actually service customers based on "numbers" they assign to each person upon arrival. The whole process is frustrating and extremely slow. Additionally, the rude guy at the front desk who believes he owns the place and can talk to customers however he wants. Something else I noticed is that when the front desk receives phone calls from customers, they use the speaker phone, so everybody in the room can listen to the entire conversation, how much they are charging them, the customer's response, etc. No privacy at all for other customers business. Totally unprofessional. If you need to buy tires and install them, please avoid Costco 7373 Boston Blvd, Springfield VA Unprofessional customer service and you will wait forever for your car, even if it's just to change 1 tire. Very disappointed, specially by the way I was treated by the front desk guy, his comments and preparing the wrong ticket for my car. read more

This place is very busy during the weekends but otherwise you can get your car tires changed in an hour at very competitive prices with a lifetime service warranty. The quality of the work done is good, although they only carry higher end tires like Michelin and Bridgestone: e.g. for my SUV the price tag for 4 new tires was $1K (which means I'll just be eating bread and eggs for the rest of the month). read more

I've had to stop by here a few times for car needs and have never been disappointed. If you're looking for walk in services, keep in mind that they can only accommodate up to 20-25, so it might be best to stop by early in the morning Pro tip: there have been some great deals for tires! So unfortunately, I came here today for the second time in six months for a flat repair... but luckily this time I was so close to this Costco Tire Center when I noticed one of my four tires' air pressure was much lower than the other three. Although it was a mid day, there wasn't a line of wait inside the shop and the lady with light purple hair and gorgeous eyes checked me in without much wait at all. So far for the past three times (first time was when I purchased tires there.) including today, it was her who took care of me and she is and has been always very quick, efficient, professional and pleasant. I admire that of her because I'm sure she is always very busy handling so many customers - easy ones and not so easy ones almost by herself at the counter yet she keeps stable attitude. I highly recommend Costco Tire Center for tire purchase not just because of the price but for the free flat tires repair for the life of the tires as long as your tires are purchased here. The Fairfax Costco Tire Center is really, really busy, but it can be a good option if you plan ahead, go online to select the proper tires for your car's model, and reserve an appointment online. In August 2020, I bought 4 new Michelin tires online (with a promotional discount), chose to have them shipped to the Fairfax location, and then waited for an email notification that the order had arrived (about 7-10 days later). Before making an appointment, I would recommend calling the Center to confirm your order was received. Otherwise, you'll waste a trip. Even if your order arrives at the warehouse, it may take a day or two before it's ready. I came about 15 minutes before the 12pm appointment time, and waited about 10 minutes to check-in. The estimated wait time for the tire installation was 60-75 minutes, and it was accurate. During your wait, you can shop inside the Costco warehouse. The check-out process took about 10 minutes as well. Although walk-in service is available, the waiting time can be 2 to 3 times as long than if you had scheduled an online appointment in advance. Be sure to bring your facial covering and a little patience! read more

I don't know why the other reviews are so negative. I thought the service was pretty good. I ordered tires on costco.com, then I scheduled an appointment at their sister website. They say it takes 5-10 business for the tires to ship, but it arrived at the tire center in 3 days. There was no available time slots for a good week and half though, but that's because I needed to do this on a weekend. Just keep that in mind if you have tight timelines. On the day of installation, I arrived 15 minutes early as they requested in their email, and was checked-in quickly. There was only 1 other person ahead of me when I arrived at 10am on a Sunday, but I handed over my keys and they gave me a magnetic cone to place on top of my car within 3 minutes. I asked them how long it would take, but they could only give me an estimate of 1-2 hours. Fast forward about 80 minutes later, I receive a voicemail saying my car is done. I just walk in, and they hand me my keys and report printout, and tell me the car is around the back. The report has good details about PSI, torque settings, and damage report (if any). Overall, this was short succinct. There was nothing eventful about this process, which is a good thing. FYI they have nitrogen air supplies in the back too, so you can top off your tires without scheduling an appointment. read more

Then, a rep named Wendy was extremely kind and helpful. She helped me find the right battery, refunded me for the wrong battery, and answered all of my questions. UPDATE: And reluctant downgrade. H u g e wait times. Is this necessary? Receive the call that vehicle is ready. Had pre-paid to a v o i d an additional wait, if possible. Still had to wait an additional half hour for the paperwork. Another customer who overheard was upset, insisted other Costco Tire facilities aren't this slow. Maybe. RESULT: yes, the service is reliably done, economical. But be prepared to pay for this with your t i m e and patience. The PRICE was exceptionally GOOD: around $180 for three tire sensors. Partner reported paying either $240 or $260 awhile back at a local Toyota dealership -- for replacing just one sensor. (Knowing which Toyota dealership it was, this is not a surprise. Check my local Toyota dealership reviews. Easy to figure out.) Has to be acknowledged the Costco Tire prices are uniquely economical. read more

As with everything Costco, this is about volume, not service. Needed to order tires for my car (Acura TSX). I paid in full probably to ordering Turns out that they ordered right size, but wrong load range. The good news is that they figured this out two days later & called me. Correct tires were more expensive, but I concurred that I wanted correct tires. Got a phone call to schedule install. I arrived for install appointment, was told I needed to pay the difference, but instead of charging the difference, turns out they charged me the full cost for 4 tires again (I didn't realize this until I got a text from my credit card company showing the transaction). 30 minutes later, was told they couldn't find the special order tires, and needed to order them. (They couldn't find the order for the correct tires). 30 minutes after that, was told that they could not in fact order the tires at all. They were going to try and locate elsewhere, at which point I left Costco. They promised to call me when they found a source for the correct tires. To their credit, they called me 2 hours later, but said tires were out of production. I would need to order tires from another manufacturer (at significantly higher cost). I decided to do my own research.... It was then that I got the text showing I had paid for two sets of tires. I called Costco back and was told they couldn't cancel the order & refund back to my credit card over the phone. I would need to come in for a third time for them to issue a refund. Bottom line, the correct tires for my car were available from Tire Rack for the same cost, and will be installed at my house. Costco wasted a lot of my time with no savings and ultimately failed to deliver. If you need common tires, they are a good (but not exceptional) deal, but avoid Costco if the tires you need are not in stock. read more

Absolutely horrible. Avoid this place at all costs. I ordered tires and had them delivered to this location. I made a member appointment. When I checked in at noon everything went normally. By 6 pm I hadn't heard anything so I called...and called...and called with no answer. I finally got through by getting ahold of the main store office, who had to radio and walk to the tire center. The conversation that ensued was absurd. This guy insists they called and left a voicemail for me to ask if I really wanted the tires I had ordered. I had no missed call and no voicemail. He began rambling about what season of tire it was and that it wasn't run flat. They essentially disagreed with my personal choice for tires and just decided not to install them. I told them to install the tires before they closed at 8:30 pm. He said he would, and would call. He never called, we couldn't get an answer, and gave up. I had to catch a flight the next morning so took a different vehicle. My wife got ahold of the tire center and told her my car was ready. They lied. My father went to pick it up and they told him they canceled the order. I'm serious, you can't make this up. My father instructed them to install the damn tires, and they finally did...30 hours after I dropped it off. These guys are grade A clowns....go anywhere else. read more

I've been to Costco on a regular basis, but never had to visit their tire center up until this week. I did my research before I came in and they have the best deal around for what I needed. They were extremely helpful and friendly on the phone before I ended deciding to come here. We were able to get a discount on our tires since they had a promotion on Bridgestone tires. Once they install the tires and for whatever reason, you don't like them you have 30 days to return them and get new tires. Additionally, the alignment and rotation of the tires are included with the service. We came in on a Friday at 5 pm. We paid, dropped off our car and they estimated it would be ready in two hours, but they had it down and ready for us a half hour early. My wife and I were highly impressed with the customer service. I definitely plan on coming back again when I need more new tires. read more

We came in today at 04:00pm the guy on the counter said 4 tires will be replace today. Price and quality were would suggest that I got a good deal, but the wait times were so excessive that it would only be a good deal for someone who puts no value on his or her time. They are seriously understaffed! I bought a set of four Michelins on June 8. I set up an appointment for June 15, at 11:30 AM. I was told that it should take about 40 minutes to an hour. I arrived at 11:20 expecting to be on my way around 12:30. Instead I had to wait in line until12:05 just to talk to somebody. At that point I was told that installation takes at least an hour and forty minutes. (I never would have bought tires there had I known that it would take that long.) Apparently, the time of your appointment is meaningless! Naturally, the hour and forty minute estimate proved overly optimistic. I had to stand in another long line to find out whether the car was ready, even though they had promised to call me. (Of cours, I was told " We were just about to call you." I finally got the car keys at 2:15 but they could not tell me where the car was parked other than somewhere in the lot. (It's a big lot.) I got home shortly before three PM, more than four and a half hours after I had left home for the tire installation. I called several times while waiting, to find out the status, but only once did anyone answer the phone and even then I could not get any idea about when my car would be ready. The bottom line is that I would never, again buy tires from Costco. If you can leave your car for a whole day, it might be a good option, but it takes too long to wait there for your car. read more

I would give a 0 star if I could. I ran over a screw. It was in the center of my tire and I needed my tire fixed. I went to Costco because I heard great things prior to my experience and after paying for my tire to get fixed they called me 20 minutes later telling me that the hole is too big and that my tire is not able to get fixed. I told them there is no way that the hole is too big and asked to take a look/get a refund. When I went to look at my tire, they told me they didn't even try to work on it because they thought it may have been taken to a gas station or something when why would I go to Costco in the first place if I could of just got it fixed elsewhere? Anyways.... they LIED and told me my tire hole was too big and not repairable as if I were left with no choice but to get a brand new tire. I had just purchased my tires. ON TOP of it.... they refunded me $11 in cash when I paid in card just because they didn't want their authorities to see that refund made in the system. LOL. Ridiculous experience and waste of time. Don't let people fool you!!! They were most likely lazy and didn't want to fix it because I had my spare on and they would have to change it. I would of appreciated if they just told me from the start they wouldn't be able to instead of telling me it was too big when they didn't even look at it or try they said. read more

The Sterling Costco Tire is very unresponsive to the customer. I have a bought tires with a 5-year 65,000 mile warranty and are worn out after 30,000 miles. The car almost didn't pass state inspection. Costco told me they couldn't do anything about it until the tires were unsafe to drive on the road. They have been unresponsive to letters and other requests for support. read more

If you plan ahead, and allow for enough time -- and ensure you are not late to your appointment and that you have ordered the correct tires, Costco is a wonderful place. It took me about 15 minutes to check in, and about 10 minutes to check out. Not bad considering it is a VERY BUSY place. I was a little confused about an up sale on "valves" that they were trying to get me to purchase. I declined and got a little grumble. The Michelin tires are very good and include a road hazard. There are probably places to get tires cheaper, but the Costco reputation is worth the extra time (and perhaps $$) spent. They called when the car was ready and were very professional. read more

She tells me it's take 3 hours for service suggesting to make an appointment for another date: when I arrive before the appointment, the service didn't start till 45 min after the appointment time, which is ridiculous. I've made two trips for tires on two different vehicles. The prices are competitive, but the warranty is unbeatable. The only frustration I have is how busy they are - not their fault, people love them! But busyness leads to frustrated staff and frustrated staff leads to frustrated customers. This is the WORST Costco i've ever been to. Got a flat tire after purchasing 4 brand new tires from the Springfield location. When I brought my car in they insisted that I had used 10% of my tread in 2 MONTHS and would have to pay 10% of the price of the tire. After some fuss they decided to let me just pay the $9.99 warranty fee. They had to order my tire and I had to call them to make sure it had arrived- no one ever called me. And it turns out the tire had been sitting there for 2 days. I had to leave work early so I could wait in the 6hr walk-in line. They also failed to tell me that they had to put my spare tire on a different wheel. This place just sucks. And it's always so incredibly busy. You're better off going to literally ANY other location. I wasted 11 hours of my time on ONE flat tire here. read more
