I scheduled an alignment after texting with someone who quoted $120/hr and said it would take about an hour, even for lowered cars with specific specs. No extra fees were mentioned. I arrived a few minutes before my 10am appointment, and they didn't finish until 12:30pm. As soon as I mentioned my car was lowered, they brought up extra charges for camber adjustment. It would've been helpful to know about the added fees before I showed up and took time off work. One hour and 30 minutes in, they said the rear was done and asked if I still wanted to do the front. Of course I did though I guess I appreciated that they at least asked. About 30 minutes later, they said they couldn't raise the front camber above -1.2. I explained my car has adjustable bolts, but he insisted it wouldn't adjust and seemed to try to entice an argument, saying I was giving him an attitude when I was being respectful and simply explaining. I said fine can you please just set toe to zero. When they finished they casually mentioned they shaved the bolt slot to gain more adjustment without asking and without ever telling me they found a solution after the earlier argument. Even then, the camber was still off by what I asked and the toe wasn't set to zero. When I brought it up, they said the numbers fluctuate. I understand alignment numbers can shift slightly, but I believe if they had taken the time and care, they could've met the specs I asked for. There was also a caster imbalance--6.5 left, 5.0 right. I pointed it out, but they said it was fine. After driving, I now feel pulling and odd steering, which after researching, caster differences can cause. To be fair, the guy at the desk was friendly to all customers while I was there, and they were very responsive by text. But that surface level professionalism didn't match the quality of the work. They also couldn't print my alignment sheet due to an outage and only sent photos. On top of that, I had to drive back after realizing they left their magnetic sign on my trunk. They only charged me for one hour, which I appreciated but overall, the lack of upfront communication, unauthorized work, and incomplete results left me disappointed. The whole experience was frustrating and unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend them if your car needs precise alignment. read more

I was replacing my valve cover gasket and confirmed on the phone it would be a good time to change the spark plugs and PCV valve since engine bay was already being opened for valve cover job it shouldn't take more than an .5 hours to replace the spark plugs as well. I got one quote on the phone but Manny at the front desk quoted almost $500 more. I found another that did it all for half the price (Willies Auto in Sterling very honest mechanic). The response to why i was being charged almost 3 hours for a simple spark plug replacement was "we have overhead". Unacceptable. Disappointed because I've been taking my cars there for a while but it seems like they're trying to nickel and dime you. Very friendly but will not be coming back after this experience. read more

If you have any cars with wheel locks especially high end cars like BMW or Mercedes etc, I do not recommend going here.... back story- We took in our 2013 BMW for an alignment and wheel balancing of all 4 tires and were told on the phone that we can bring in the car before 5:30 as the that is cut off time. We got there at 5:05 and they started saying cut off was 5 but we told them that we called and they told us 5:30 was the cut off, we then said we could have taken it somewhere else but we had called them earlier in the day to avoid this problem but they ended up getting us in anyway. They went ahead and did the alignment, once they were done they come out to tell us that they couldn't do the balance due to them closing at 6 (keep in mind they said they could do both services) but at the same time they took in 5/6 customers that came AFTER us and they proceeded to help them. The owner came to us after and proceeded to state that HE will personally take care of the balancing himself, he took the car car in and came back in about 10 mins to tell us the lugs were "ceased". After he went ahead and said he would take care of it he ended up stripping the master key for the lug nuts. Later after taking the car to BMW the very next morning because no one else can seem to get it off , we got quoted almost 500$ to take out the REAR lug nuts as those are the ones he damaged. We then called the owner of Sterling Tire and he blantly proceeded to put the blame on us and our mechanic and did not want to take ownership. Also after he let us know that the master key was stripped he then decided to tell us that he just got a new equipment specifically for european cars that comes in within a week but never decided to let us know before he told us he could do the balancing himself ??? Waiting wasn't an issue. You ask to speak to the owner on the phone and the owner himself puts you on hold and acts like someone else and says the owner is " busy " . If i could give 0 stars I would. I would rather spend my money somewhere else than come here and my car getting messed up and having to spend $500+ and they don't want to take responsibility. The Owner seems to be full of himself, not the person he was years ago. It's not even about the money but more so the fact that they don't take any accountability or even have the decency to apologize even if it's not sincere. read more

I'm a wheel fanatic, and have been to at least a dozen tire shops in the DMV area. Most are honest and do good work, but they also charge $200+ for 4 tires mounted and balanced. Especially if low profile tires. I figured it is what it is, you get what you pay for. Then I found this place! Prices are notably less than most shops in the Herndon/Reston/Sterling area. I paid $78 for 4 tires to be dismounted, 2 of them re-mounted and balanced, and 2 tires disposal. Good quality tire & balancing machines too, so no compromise there. Lastly, the service is great. I was in and out in under an hour. The staff is helpful and polite and you can tell they take pride in their work. Only "downside" is that it's first come, first serve, and parking lot area can get a little crowded, so if that's something that would bother you Karen, I recommend another place. read more
