This was the first time at a Costco Business Centre. The experience is a stripped down version of the Costco experience, it is all in all tailored the the business owners. There are no samples, no/limited freshly prepared food or bakery, limited electronics/jewelry, no Kirkland clothing/shoes/books, and no/limited personal care items. On the plus side, there are even more bulk items available that isn't in regular Costco, some items have incredibly good price per unit, bulk flour for example has different grades and brands, the the meat locker is massive and very cold. Furthermore, there are unique appliances and cookware in this location not found elsewhere, like the industrial dough mixers, entire buffet heat tables, bakery racks, etc. The parking situation is also far more tame since there isn't much of a destination feel to this location. They do have a food court though. It was overall an interesting experience, I have noted some bulk items to be extremely well priced here, but while Costco is a once every 2-4 week visit, this would be a once a 6-12 months visit for a non-business owner. I bought my phone at the Costco Scarborough Business Centre a few months ago and wanted them to look at my phone. I made an appointment for 12:30 at the phone kiosk. I got there 10 minutes early and only 1 person was working! I made the appointment at my lunch time because it's only 4 minutes away. I thought as it was lunch time they would have more staff to help customers. NOPE! Only 1 staff member working. I waited for 25 minutes and I had to leave as my lunch is only a half hour and I had already left 10 minutes early to make sure that I was there on time!! What a joke. I waited so long and never got any help in the 25 minutes I was there. I recommend having at least 2 people to staff the phone kiosk as people work for a living and some have to come on their lunch. I'm so sorry that I bought a phone from Costco. I had a horrible experience! read more

Wow what an interesting shopping experience. I've been to many costcos in many countries over the years but never to a business center. I can see why business owners shop here as it's a one stop shop for everything. As my freezer at home is absolutely full we didn't buy any frozen goods but didn't go home empty handed. I found the business to be not too busy but the the staff left pallets and such in the isles making it difficult to shop at times. Checkout was quick and staff most congenial. I visited this location to purchase a box of lettuce. There was only one box available, and it was missing three pieces. I asked whether a discount could be offered due to the missing items, and the front-end supervisor agreed. However, when I relayed this to the cashier, she said she did not know how to enter a discounted price and was unsure if there was a manual entry option, so she called the manager. When the manager arrived, the situation escalated unnecessarily. She questioned who had authorized the supervisor to approve the discount and, without addressing me, removed the box from my cart. She then suggested that I go to another location. This was extremely frustrating, especially since I had driven from Markham to the far end of Scarborough, and with current gas prices, this was a significant inconvenience. While Costco locations are typically very busy, that should not come at the expense of basic customer service. I went back and asked if I could at least purchase the box at full price, as I needed it for the next day and did not mind paying the regular price. Even that was not permitted, and the item was taken back and processed for return. It was disappointing to be treated this way over an $8-$10 discount at a large company like Costco, and the overall experience left me feeling poorly treated as a customer. read more

My name is Ted Berman and I had just received a Costo Business email and decided to order a few things on line. I am 80 years of age and what I was ordering was on sale but was very heavy for me to carry home. I decided to order on line. The email said that if my order was at least $250 delivery was free! The 1 litre bottle of smart water was on sale. Regular price at Costco Business Centre for item #1283 - is regularly $22.49 for each 1 litre bottle. This product had a $4.50 instant saving per bottle which would bring my price to $17.99 each bottle. I then decided to placed my order for 10 cases totalling 120 bottles. I added 1 more item to my cart to make my order over $250. Costco did honour the $4.50 saving per bottle. What they did do is change the price of the item. In the store the bottle was $22.49 each,less $4.50 that made the price $17.99 per bottle. What they did do is change the price from $22.49 to $27.39 per bottle less the $4.50 saving. I now paid $27.39 less $4.50 = $22.89 per bottle. Costco billed me $274.80 for 120 bottles. I was expecting to pay $17.99 per bottle. That would be $215.88. That is a $58.92 RIP OFF!!! SHAME ON YOU COSTCO BUSINESS CENTRE!!! I called Costco to explain why I was upset but kept being passed on to someone else. COSTCO BUSINESS DOES NOT CARE AT ALL.. It is fun to browse around as the stuff they have in stock you cannot find in other regular locations! Yes you can buy a whole lamb here. And I though getting a whole lamb leg already too much for my ordinary shopping routine. A lot of their items are in mega size packaging. As someone that shopping for a regular household that have 4 people, this may not be the best Costco location. No Butcher counter if you are looking for some meat produce. read more

Love Costcos! Stopped on our way from Montreal and we were really excited to find even more things in bulk packaging. Although this Costco mostly caters to businesses and restaurants, a regular individual can still benefit from the selection. There are a lot more food, meat and bevarage choices compared to a regular Costco. There are tons of kitchen accessories and equipment. We ended getting a giant cutting board, some squeeze bottles for sauce, and really cheap industrial grill cleaner/degreaser to use on our backyard BBQ. Make sure you bring a sweater since there is a huge walk in fridge that possibly 5 times larger than your regular Costco walk in. All the dairy, cheese, meats, fruits and veggies are in the giant fridge so you will spend a longer amount of time in there if you want to browse all the aisles. There is no food court on site, no clothes, no bakery or gas station, so certain things are definitely limited. Not the type of Costco you want to visit every week, but if you're a regular person and need bulk food for your family, having a party or want specific kitchen equipment, this is ideal. Quebec will be opening their own Business centre this fall, we already have similar stores that cater to restaurants but I found the prices at Costco much better. Worth it to come visit! read more

If you run a small restaurant or convenience store, this is a nice goto. Nice selections of specialty items not found in your everyday Costco. There are NO samples here so if thats your thing keep driving. There's also no food court to satisfy your hot dog fix. On my way to the grocery next door, I decided to stop by this place just to see what the difference is between a business centre costco and a regular one. Turns out there is a big difference! This location caters to businesses as the name implies. I guess if you had a large family, this would work as well. They sell various restaurant supplies and equipment, so if ever I opened up a restaurant or catering business this would be my go-to, but for now a single guy living alone, this place is definitely not a good place to shop. You want eggs? 5 dozen minimum! You want mayonnaise? 5 liters minimum! You want rice? Here's a 50 pound bag! I came here expecting EXACTLY what I saw. read more

The best part of this location is that the food court is completely separate from the actual from the shopping experience. That way, you can get your food on before you shop or park your cart in the very roomy front entrance while you chow down afterwards. You can eat in peace and not have to fight for that precious cart parking space at other Cost Cos. If you've been to one Cost Co then you've been to them all and the main difference with this one is the food court location. The experience is consistently excellent while the product locations are never where you last saw them for the most part.It's a great game of hide and seek for your groceries every time you come visit. read more

This costco is hugeeeee and cold. Everything is super oversized and somethings are cheaper than the regular costco even with its upgraded size. Ive been here a few times on the weekends and on weekdays and it isnt packed at all. There are abundances of large parking spots and there isnt alot of people shopping here. They have a big big freezer room where they store all meats, fruits and cheese. They have jackets for you to borrow outside the freezer because its so cold. Unfortunately they dont have a cafeteria here so no fries or hotdogs :(. read more

My dad said a new Costco just opened in the city, and I had to verify it. Wait, "Costco Business Centre," what is that? This concept ain't your ordinary Costco warehouse, that's for sure, and you shouldn't think it would be. The merch here are geared towards commercial customers, rather than households. Although any Costco member can come in and shop, many will find the stock to be impractical for most families to handle. We're not talking about usual Costco sized goods here. More like, commerical quantities: you can't buy a bag of bananas, you gotta buy the whole box. Similarly, you won't find large bottles of ketchup--all they got is ketchup in large jugs and cans. The only kinds of people that would need that much ketchup are restaurateurs and caterers, food cart/truck operators, and folks with a severe ketchup addiction. This special Costco is great for those in the food service industry, as most of the floor space is devoted to food stock and commercial kitchen equipment. Heck, you can get everything you need here to run your own hot dog stand, including a new hot dog cart ($5500)! No longer do you have to buy a shopping cart full of milk at a regular Costco (things you always see at a Costco...); you can do that at this location and enjoy the peace of no crowds! Other things you will NOT find here: free samples, long-ass lines, a food court, an optical department, deli counter, bakery, pharmacy, jewellery, clothing, gardening centre, automobile service, and definitely no gas station. However, this location is lacking in business merchandise--office equipment, furniture, electronics, consumable supplies, stuff you'd expect to find at a Staples. Kinda disappointing if you are looking for that kind of stuff for your business and not a barrel of olive oil. At the least they will provide delivery for your buys to most places in the GTA (20km radius, I think). Overall, it needs to be noted that the Costco Business Centre is a special kind of Costco aimed at keeping other businesses running, without having to endure the hectic crowded environment of your regular Costco. (A regular Costco can be found a few minutes drive further up on Warden, if the stuff here kills you to buy.) read more

Terrible experience! The workers are sneaky and awful! I placed a volume order with costco business centre scarborough, im exporting those goods overseas and they gave me items that are nearly expiring in 1 month and loaded into my container. Our workers just unloaded the containers in asia yesterday and realized that 3 pallets of flours are expiring. Meanwhile, the products on shelf display in their store all have fresh dates, but they give their customers expiring goods from the warehouse, how can anyone possibly consume 3 pallets of flour in less than 1 month (The shipping time takes another 5 weeks)Tried to call this costco location, and noone is helpful! Incredible wild tuna that I can't find anywhere else! They do need better demo agency these ladies are bored and have no clue what they are serving and very slow in fast paced environment!
