The person that helped us was so nice and knowledgeable and was able to recommend the right one for us after asking a couple of questions. They let us know that there's a core battery fee charge that is refundable upon return of the faulty battery. The return was just as easy. This morning I visited this Costco to purchase pajamas for my bedridden mother staying at a nursing home. A nurse provided an old pair of sleep pants as a reference sample for me to match. I headed to the apparel department and asked an East Asian female uniformed associate folding garments where I could find comparable sleep pants. Rather than assisting me, she repeatedly admonished me: "You are not supposed to bring outside clothing into the store." I clarified I laid the sample on my shopping cart before entry. I scanned my membership card at the front entrance while security staff oversaw incoming shoppers, and I faced no objection whatsoever.She insisted entrance attendants ought to have barred me from bringing the item inside. I asked if I needed to dispute this with front-door staff instead of getting help for my purchase request. She stated her sole responsibility was folding clothes and directed me to locate another associate for support.i approached a second uniformed female employee afterward. She efficiently helped me locate the matching pajamas right away. The stark disparity in customer service between these two staff members was truly disappointing. I hope Costco enforces consistent service standards across all employees to prevent other shoppers from encountering rude, unhelpful treatment. read more

I went on a Thursday afternoon and it was busy but not too busy. Was able to easily find a parking spot. As soon as I entered, I saw great deals. The layout of this Costco makes it very easy to find things. One thing I love about Costco is their sampling stations. There were lots the day I went and it made my shopping trip much better. They also have great deals here (ex. Beautiful roses 24 stems for $22.99, guys take notes lol, or $15 books) let's also not forget their hotdogs, to die for. One great steal I had was in their shoe section. I got these adidas breakout 2.0 shoes, which are so sleek for only $20!!!!! What a steal. As for their service, it's always been very quick at the cashier, can't complain. My only concern about this location is that they don't seem to have my size in stock most of the time. Costco whole pizza. It was large for 8 slices. The slice is probably double the size of a Pizza Pizza slice. Service - They were fast with making me the order. When you eat it fresh, it has a cheese pull. The dough is nice and soft. It is just very oily. It was worth the value - $12-13 for a whole pizza. I would get it again. This Costco was packed when we went this Friday evening, full of people shopping or just enjoying food at the cafeteria. Note: If you are from the US shopping at a Canadian Costco, they don't accept US Visas here. However, if you have a Costco Citi card, that works! Sadly, they don't have a lot of good sparkling water options here. My friends and I had a hard time finding one that we liked. However, they had men's Hokas on sale for 99.99 so we had to cop a few pairs, haha. Costco is a fun time! We also enjoyed some poutine (which you can't get in the US). The fries were pretty soggy but the poutine was pretty good for what it was. It is really heavy so definitely have a few friends to share it with if you're not able to eat it on your own. I wish the gravy was hotter and the cheese curds were just OK. Overall, worth a try! I hear that the fries by themselves (without the gravy or cheese curds) slaps. read more

I have a Love and Hate Relationship with Costco! It is fun to browse the store and pick up a Rotisserie Chicken. But I ended up buying so many nonsense and the chicken ++ cost me $100+. This Costco is my to go location. I found it is less busy than others. I usually able to find a parking if I don't mind walking from the far lot near Petsmart. The selections seems to be a little less than Yorktech's location but I always able to find more than I need. Food Court has the usual $1.50 hot dog and I love ordering the Poutine (always a lot of cheese curds!) Check out is fast and the staff seems to have a good system to move the lines. It was just before the end of the year when we came to get some shopping done. We saw the Disney rugs on sale and decided to get one. When checking out, the cashier had difficulty finding the price on their system. There wasn't a barcode on the rug. Gerlyn (I hope I spelled her name correctly) was assisting this cashier, so she went to check the price and find the number needed for entering into their system. She went to check at least a couple of times, but the price and size of the rug didn't match. A supervisor had to come for help. It turns out this rug was a return from an online order and not the one we actually wanted; they looked so similar when rolled up. The supervisor took away the rug we had, and Gerlyn went to get the correct rug. This process did take quite some time, but I'm so glad that Gerlyn was there to assist us. She was pleasant the whole time and not fazed by how busy the store was. read more

costco in york region is seriously one of my favorite stores. their frozen burger meats are amazing, always fresh and super convenient to have on hand. i've tried a few different packs and they cook up great every time, juicy and full of flavor. perfect for grilling or just a quick meal at home. another must-have is the pumpkin pie. its so good, sweet but not too much, creamy and smooth, and the crust is perfect. every time i go, i make sure to grab one before they sell out. the store itself is huge and well stocked, its easy to find what you need and the checkout lines move pretty fast. staff are friendly and helpful too. overall love shopping here, especially for all the frozen meats and the pumpkin pie. always a good experience and i'll keep coming back. read more

I went in to buy a battery and the service guys (3-4) were all chatting at the counter. I walked up and said "I'd like to get a battery for my [insert make and model of car]. One of the guys pointed me at the rack of car batteries. Go look up the battery there. When I go to Canadian Tire or an auto parts shop... they will help me find batteries that will fit and tell me about the choices of the brand/type. All they did here was collect my money. What if i don't know the softens between traditional or AGM? I get having a friendly work atmosphere so you enjoy your work... but not at the expenses of a good customer experience. Lots of people buying in bulk here! I have no complaints. It's a bigger Costco first of all, compared to its counterparts in Markham. So in terms of space, it's winning! What really gets me with this Costco however, is that they always have what I need. Maybe because of its size? They are always well stocked and have full of produce. I do find shoppers here a bit more aggressive with driving and finding a parking spot, so I recommend parking farther from the exit and walking over. Other than that, great Costco! We did self check out as usual with my kids in the cart, older daughter reading a book that we picked up at the books section. As we were walking away from the cash register, Sarah followed up to us and asked me regarding the book in my daughter's hands - If it was a book from the library, cause she knows how kids nowadays love to read - I knew why she asked, so I showed her my receipt that the book was scanned. She thanked me and we moved on. I gotta say, there's no easy way to approach someone when you suspect and want to prevent theft from happening, specially when you just don't know. I've been to quite a few Costcos in the GTA area and I must say, this is probably my choice Costco. Compared to the amount of people traffic at Costco, this location is less crowded. And when there's less people at Costco, it could only mean one thing... MORE SAMPLES FOR ME!! Pretty much, this is my favourite thing about Costco--FREE SAMPLES!! There were probably around 12-15 stalls of samples when I went on a weekday afternoon and it was AWESOME that I didn't have to push away other customers (kidding!) or wait in line for the sample. Price and product-wise, like any other Costco, it has similar products at a reasonable price. I will note in this Costco's foodcourt that it also offers cappuccino and lattes. People think that you need a membership in order to get into Costco, but apparently we all thought wrong! Yesterday my boyfriend and I successfully get into Costco without a membership as we were only planning to go to the food court. Their food court selections were limited, however, the prices were very lovely. For only $1.50 you get a hotdog/ sausage with pop! We have decided to get their fries w/ gravy, a slice of pepperoni pizza, and of course their sausage dog. Their fries were my favorite. I am not a fries person as I always choose onion rings over fries if I have the option, but Costco's fries I will not say NO to. Their thick cut fries are always made fresh, and extra crispy. The portion was quite large for the price you are paying. Their pizza, however, I was not a big fan. The pepperoni was so paper thin, and tasteless, we tasted more sauce than pepperoni.The pizza dough was not bread-y, but for the price we paid, we shouldn't expect much. Their sausage though, very tasty! Juicy and crispy casing. Never over salty to me. BONUS: must get their ice cream. They serve all ice cream cones in WAFFLES. It's so soft and creamy, perfect amount of sweet. read more

Advice for any Costco I've ever been at: avoid Saturdays if at all possible - and if required, go right when they open. It's a warehouse club store - one of the most iconic to the point that I've had visitors from abroad (one set from China and one from Australia) explicitly state that they wanted to go check out a Costco. We arrived at around 2 pm on a Saturday to hunt for a blood pressure monitor for my parents (oh the ironies; they thought selection here might be better than what's available closer to home in Kitchener - it isn't). I can't really blame Costco, since this is a warehouse store and they operate on volume with lower margins, but there were no clerks to be found on the floor (they wear bright red vests - if they were there, they should have been easy to find). Perhaps they were hiding? I wouldn't blame them. This place was incredibly busy. Remarkably the lineups weren't too bad though nor deep - all checkout counters were open (maybe that's where all the clerks were?). We were also hunting for a few other unusual items like a bathroom scale but gave up looking as we wanted to do grocery shopping in Toronto. This is definitely not a place to go for a fast in and out. That said, they generally have good prices, though I would note that being in the market for tires at the moment, their tires seem to be almost double in price relative to Tirerack the website purchased and cleared from the US after duties, customs and everything. Costco has a number of services that you might not expect like an optical for glasses and contacts, kitchen corian countertops, credit card processing for a business and website hosting services (though you can definitely shop online for better deals online for hosting). If I have one suggestion it would be to come to this place when you have time to get a feel for what they offer and the prices in which they offer them. They're not always the best deals - especially for groceries (vs say Asian grocers) but their quality is consistent and generally offering better brands. My husband and I shop at this location quite often. Was super happy when I found a parking spot near the front entrance today. We all know how hectic this location can be at the parking lot... While my husband was grabbing a cart he noticed another cart rolling over to our car so he tried to stop it before it dents our car. Then boom he slipped and fell on the icy floor. His legs got caught under the cart. Thankfully he wasn't holding our baby. We told customer service and they had said they will let the manager know, but when we came out nothing has been done. Still slippery and icy. Ps on top of this crazy fall, the cashier that cashed us out was being rude. When she tried to lift a heavy box and it slipped she's like "oh shit" staring at her nails. Maria and Nicole were being rude. Maria was our cashier and Nicole was helping her unload after. I simply had asked if she could separate As transaction but the way she explained something was with negative attitude and bad customer service. Anyways, now my husband has two bumps on his shins and all bruised. I'm sure tomorrow it will def turn purple!!! And the shopping carts in this location is out of control, too many around cars and when it's windy it rolls and hits cars! read more

Okay, so it's Costco. We all know how that goes. Big quantities, small selection, fair prices, and large crowds. This location is about average for the claustrophobia factor. People are jammed in all over the place, but there's still some room to breathe, and, when I went in the early afternoon at least, there were still lineups that didn't get too out of control. Costco in general is fine. Some things are well priced, and others aren't. Often grocery items that are sold in regular stores you're better off just waiting for a sale and stocking up then instead of bothering with Costco. Other items though, including many of their Kirkland brand items, are well priced, and many appear to be good quality. I'll continue to shop here semi-regularly, as they definitely have some items I really enjoy that I can't get anywhere else. I need a break in between visits though! read more

This was my first time at this location and I bought a pair of Tom Ford glasses. All I got with it was a flimsy cheap Costco case. When I'm spending a couple hundred dollars, I'm expecting a Tom Ford case to come with it atleast. I find a product I like but there is no price tag on it so I try to find somebody to help me find the price. No supervisors are around or anybody that can help me. I go up to one of the cashiers and explain my situation and they tell me to wait in line and if I decide I don't want it, I don't have to buy it. So what you're telling me is that, the cashiers at Costco can not take 2 seconds out of their time to help me check a price and would rather a customer wait 15 minutes in line to check a price! These lines are not reasonable either. They're stretching out to aisles 1 and 2. That doesn't sound reasonable to me. This is speaking from past experiences at other Costco's where if I needed a price check, it would have been done in a couple of seconds. I don't have a problem with any other Costco's and as a member paying $120 a year for an executive business membership, I'm expecting better customer service than this. The Covid safety measures in this store are now non-existent. Aside from masks and couple of social distancing signs the store lets in unlimited number of customers, doesn't have any floor arrows or anything else to try to direct traffic flow or socially distance at cashiers and staff couldn't care less. On Sunday 3-4pm the store was packed. This is the Costco we usually go to and it's pretty much like any other costco around. Like most reviews it is packed on the weekends and I wish they could do something about the parking but that happens at almost every costco you go to. What annoys me to no end is the customers who stack their carts on the side of the road instead of pushing it to the designated cart drop offs. I've seen accidents happen because cars have to make a wider turn to pass them. Seriously take the extra 15 steps. Otherwise the store itself has everything you ever need or want and always in bulk and their sales are definitely worth it. Their cafeteria is awesome because it's the same price for hotdogs and now is going to get chicken wings. So if you're going just go with the mindset it's going to be a bitch to park and it's going to be a wait to pay and you'll be fine. read more

Shopping at this location is an absolute nightmare. I'm talking like morning, noon and night (and weekends... god weekends are the absolute worst). The parking lot is not much better as you narrowly avoid getting hit both in your car and while walking to the front door. The selection is a touch smaller than that of the Woodbridge or Newmarket locations but it is the most conveniently located for many Markham and Richmond Hill residents. The line ups and crowds don't end in the aisles and the parking lot, the line ups to get out are rediculous and don't even get me started on the line to get a 1/8th piece of Krispy Kreme doughnuts... I've actually seen a fight break out here over those lumps of lard. Grrrrrrr...... This costco is basically hell both getting to the entrance and in the parking lot. A tip - park further away to avoid people accidentally scratching your car. A slight walk can save your car some damage and gives you a little exercise. I can't count the number of times I've almost been hit in this parking lot. Not only possible car accidents but walking in the parking lot as well. People just leave their shopping carts wherever. As for inside, pretty much the same as any other Costco but there are so many people, the lines get extremely crowded. This costco is horrible!! It is one of the most-packed costcos of l i f e. That's why I avoid at all costs, except when I'm dragged there for shenanigans. The 2 good parts: the food and the photo development area. The photo department is always efficient and quick, and I don't age in the line like I do in the line to pay. The food is cheap as hell, $1.50 for a hotdog AND refillable drink?! Come here to eat if you're looking for a cheap tummy filler. I've got to say.. the deals at costco are not even that great. Once in a blue moon, you'll come across something semi-good. Other than that.. meh? The abundance of straight-off-the-boat pushy mainlanders grabbing freebies from the sample tables make me reevaluate my entire visit. The workers are ruder than anything you can ever encounter. My friend was asked for her ID when she wanted to try a sample because 'you can't have one without parental consent'. Wow.. my friend was 19 at the time. ID for a sample?! You've got to be kidding me. Also, once I went there with gift cards from my mother and attempted to buy groceries. I was asked for a membership, which I did not have- however, you are still allowed to purchase, you just need a manager to override the transaction if you plan on buying things without the scan of a membership ID. The worker rudely told me she can't do it, and then when she found out I wasn't completely ignorant like most of the people they boss around, she got all pissy and said "now I have to get a manager..." She made it seem like I had ruined her whole day... Another time I've tried to go in to get a hot dog for lunch while my mom walked in the other side with her membership and the blonde lady 'Tammy' that checks receipts quickly rushed to me as if she were defending the doors to the world's secrets. She gave me a dirty look when I told her my mom went through the other side and said I had to go with her or I can't go in. (Which I confirmed later, that you can indeed go into a costco just to get food without a membership.. so, what are you even talking about?) Tammy then made comments and said "Call your mom." ...Excuse me? I'm 22 and my mother does not even have a cell phone- she certainly made me feel like a child. Also, even if I called my mom, what would that prove? Couldn't she just lie and say she was inside already? What the hell. I was pissed at this point and gave tammy the 'talk to the hand' and said "Whatever. I'll go through the other way." and as I walked to the other side and followed my mom, who was still visible from the entrance, Tammy had the audacity to follow me while saying "Get her to come here", which I completely ignored. She followed me until I weaved my way back to the food booth and then she finally returned to her original position. On the way out, I made sure to obnoxiously take a bite of my hot dog in front of her while walking out. Hah. She was making faces, pointed at me and whispered something to the other 'defender of the costco doors'. Real professional and mature, ladies. Worst customer service of life- they are unprofessional and will talk smack about you in front of you. Eg. "Why is this dumb customer's items in her cart still? Boy oh boy so I love Costco. I think it's the "exclusivity" of needing a card to get in..I try to make friends with the folks that have one and use them to my full advantage :D The Costco at Elgin Mills and 404 is great, it's really big, relatively new and it's always got yummy samples! Samples are my favorite - especially along the deli and cheese isle. I like going there semi-hungry on a Saturday or Sunday and trying everything while swearing that I will come back to buy! They have a great grocery section here, as well as A LOT of trendy books and cheap packages of socks! I've been to a few Costcos, haven't met one I didn't like really - most of the stuff is similar throughout. This one has my favorite sweet of the moment - a huge tray of baklava with pistachios in really fluffy layered pastry. It's cut up into smaller size pieces so you don't feel too guilty.... This is my favourite Costco in Ontario. It's generally less hectic inside than the Woodbine/Hwy 7 and Markham/14th Ave locations, and MUCH better in every aspect than the Warden/Ellesmere location. It's a newer location with the typical Costco layout. The product selection is pretty good and the produce is fresh. Costco has legendary customer service, and I've never been less than satisfied with the service at this location when dealing with Costco employees. In particular, I love the optical department because of their policies with contact lenses. I always have unopened boxes after getting a new prescription and I have never had a problem with changing prescriptions, even after the lenses are approaching the expiration date. The food sample workers are often slow (or maybe us Richmond Hill-ers are just overeager to line up for samples), but whatever, it's free! On my days off, I sometimes come here during the afternoons when there are many samples so I don't have to make lunch. The cash register lineups can get long, but they move quickly and do not compare to the absolute zoo that the Warden location almost always is. The only thing that I'd really love to see at this location is a gas station. However, the parking lot is crazy as it is, so that might not be the best idea. read more

When I checked out with my wife, I told the employee for our lane(His name is Brandon), I need to pay things separately with two payment card(since there are some for my business and some for my family). Brandon asked my wife to show him her membership card. I asked Brandon why my wife needs to show her card, she is not the person to purchase, I'm the right person, I have the membership and gave to you, it should be enough. Brandon said: No, if you would like to pay separately, and there is another person come with you, you both should have the membership. Well, this is the first time I have ever heard about this thing: I came to buy things for my business and my family, I am paying separately with my personal card and my business card, Is there anything related with my wife??? No, but why you guys asking her to show her card even she is not going to pay, why??? Although she has the card(since we are the family and she has the second card), this is ridiculous, My question is: if she did not bring her card to show you, AM I NOT ALLOWED TO PURCHASE AND PAY SEPARATELY???? I normally avoid Costco like the plague - but since I got my tires here - it makes sense to do the semi-annual tire swap here - because it is cheap - if your tires are already on rims - like mine are, it cost me $24.00 for the whole job - plus they do the tire rotation and rebalance as well. I don't love the fact that the weekends are on a first come, first serve basis - because when I bring my car in, since it means my entire day is shot due to the fact that they have so many people wanting the same thing as well, that I am usually lucky if I get my car before noon. It is actually worse in the fall - but the tire centre opens an hour earlier before the rest of the store - but the lineups usually means you need to be at least an hour before that. But overall - I am pretty happy with their tire centre; but don't ask me about it in the fall when I am lining up to swap for my winter tires. I, myself am not a member of the Costco family but many of my friends are so I reap the benefits of having the membership without paying the annual fee. I never liked the idea of buying in bulk. Mainly because I don't eat in bulk. Who honestly needs to have 3 packages of 28 pitas? But buying other items like houeshold cleaners in bulk is genius. Who doesn't need a 3L pack of laundry detergent? Everyone washes their clothes (hopefully) so stuff like that I totally understand. What I didn't realize is that their electronics that they sell will sell for less than retail value because they buy them in bulk, no they don't sell 3 iPods for the price of 2 (I wish!) but buying from Costco vs. FutureShop is definitely cheaper. The samples never fail me. Beginning around 3pm on a weekday, they will begin to roll out all their little specials that they want to sell off for the day. I've had olive bread, proscuitto and brie, biscotti, lasagna, chicken and even coffee. On the weekends is even better! More food to sample. Yum! This is the best part about Costco, honestly just go in without a membership, not like you're buying anything anyway, tell the door person that your mom/dad/S.O. has already gone in ahead of you. The downside, no credit cards, unless it's the Costco Amex credit card and it must match the name on the member card. So buying in bulk without a credit card? How am I supposed to accumulate points to fly to Paris?! The staff is always friendly and helpful, which is extremely rare in a big box corporation. At the checkout counter, they'll help you unload groceries onto the belt and if you have large items they will accompany you to your car. Although many other grocers and stores offer the same services, Costco seems to go above and beyond to let it be known that they offer this to you.
