We always stop by this WinCo when we need meat for a barbecue. They consistently have a good selection, the quality has been reliable, and it's easy to find what we're looking for. Zero stars and I've been going to this Winco for over 10 years. I went to Winco this afternoon and on my way into the store I saw a young mother with her beautiful baby and made a comment about how pretty her baby was. This will come in later. I went onto do my shopping and when I was finished shopping I stood in Line 1 for about 20 minutes. (Why they don't have more checkers when it gets busy is beyond me but that's not the point of this story.) There was a man in front of me with his wife in a wheelchair and every other line was packed (at 2:45 to 3 PM on Wednesday). So we're patiently waiting in Line 1 for about 20 minutes. Suddenly the couple in front of me gets out of line and goes a few registers over and gets in Line 2. I'm thinking they opened another register and they're going to take those people in a different line so I move forward in Line 1. At that point the couple tells me they closed cashier lane (Line 1). I know people have gotten dumber after Covid, however, I've been alive a long time and traditionally if they're going to close the line they usually tell the last person in line we're not taking any more people in this line and they give them a little thing that says the register is closed so they can tell the people who might come along behind them. Or if something was wrong with the register then you take those people over to the new register that you're opening you don't make them stand in another line all over again. Very, very poor Customer Service and this is the training issue. So now standing Line 2 for I kid you not, 20 more minutes minimum. Then this long-haired checker dude comes along and says I'll take anybody that's been waiting for a long time in Line 3. I said I've been waiting for a long time (people in front of me would've been first but they already had their stuff up on the conveyor belt and were next in Line 2). So I go down to the Line 3 and these three Karens start telling me I'm taking cuts in front of this lady. I look over at the lady and it's the same lady I had told when I first entered the store she had a beautiful baby. Also while patiently waiting in my original Line 1, I saw her and her baby walking up and down over by the bread and I was already in Line 1 before she was ready to checkout. I don't believe the poor lady spoke English but three Karens who had no idea what's going on started flapping their gums about how I was taking cuts. I just rolled my eyes and went back to my Line 2. Still waiting another 15-20 minutes to check out in Line 2. And I told I probably waited an hour in line just to checkout. Unfortunately the longtime Winco employees are no longer there AND IT SHOWS. Nobody really gives a damn what's going on in that store anymore. The morals of this story are, 1) train your employees the customer service is number one and don't shut the line down and leave people just hanging to fend for themselves. And 2) if you MUST be a Karen, make sure you know what's going on because you probably don't. Keep it to yourself and mind your own business. read more

New Year's Eve day. I called to make sure that they had whole walnuts in a shell. The lady that answered the phone assured me that they did. I drove all the way over there. Nothing. I talked to the produce guy and he said "she didn't transfer you to me?" Nope. The moral of the story is always speak to the department that you're shopping. Don't trust a person upfront who, while trying to be helpful, probably doesn't know as much as the person in the specific department. Wasted time. Wasted gas. Wasted trip. read more

Came by on 2/25/26 with my beautiful wife and adorable toddler, this WinCo Foods is located on Greenback Lane in Orangevale, CA. We came to grab some groceries since we were almost out of food at home. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This location is smaller than some other WinCo's but that is why my wife likes it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our checkout cashier was quick and efficient and we were out the door pretty quicky. Winco has been my grocery store for years! Great quality produce at great prices. Any grocery item you could ever want, including items that you can get in bulk like spices, grains, and all kinds of candy. I'm writing a review today because this is the second time we've used Winco to feed our football team and it's been amazing . This time we ordered some sandwich trays from the deli. Everyone was super nice and helpful getting them ordered and suggesting what sizes. When I went to pick them up today, there was a misunderstanding in the order BUT without batting an eye, Gardener in the deli, swooped into action and made my order right before i could get even take a breath. He was so helpful, calm, cool and made it work. He even said to call if it wasn't what I expected and he would make it right. The football team was smiling, happy and well fed! If you didn't know that Winco does catering orders you should definitely check them out. I've also use them for birthday parties and trays are always a gigantic hit. read more

I've been here many times to get some good deals and very good produce compared to Walmart neighborhood and even Trader Joe's. [[HIGHLIGHT]]But the store itself isn't super clean and I've seen way too many fake service dogs in carts and barking at other humans or other fake service dogs.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Yes a dog who is working can bark to alert but the dogs are usually barking at others not their working partner. Buying produce here is cheap and I've never had any rotten foods. They do not have Apple Pay. read more

I come to Winco around 3-6 times a month. They have a great selection of different kinds of food. I buy frozen fried rice tocino and chimichangas here. I can't find them anywhere else. I am only giving 3 stars because I bought a bag of grapefruit and 2 of them were inedible. way past its date. I was there Tuesday. I needed to buy berries for my friend's rabbit. the berries were green. every package I picked up had soft raspberries and green. the blueberries were soft and old. I bought some dried peaches. A few of them were hard. The prices are really good. It would be nice if someone would check the produce to make sure it's still fresh. when I buy oranges or grapefruit I just think 2 will be bad. you can't really tell how fresh the citrus fruits are through the bag. I really like the different food items they have here. Betty Crocker discontinued my favorite pasta salad. Winco has its own version of this pasta salad. I will continue to shop here. I might need a store clerk to help me find some not overripe citrus fruits. read more

The meat department hides the garbage part of meat on the bottom side of packaging. I bought a 5 lb package of carne asada. I trimmed 1.10 lbs of garbage hidden fat. That's throwing out good money. This is in Spokane Valley, WA. At the price of meat we should not be having to give them money for trash meat. I will be talking with someone about this. Meat manager talk to your meat Packers. I have shopped at Winco for years some of the cashier's are not as friendly as others you learn to avoid them. Currently, Winco has bacon for 2.98 a pkg if you eat bacon you know thats almost half price. The limit is four at this price. However, when they rang up for full price I questioned the price. "Roberta" tells me "that's what they rang up for do you want them or not" I said no & if the posted price is not going to be honored someone should take the sign down. Roberta told me "I dont gotta do nothing" I did not once say she needed to take the sign down. She does need to check her attitude. Avoid her line she's rude. Absolutely terrible employees that work here. quite literally taking candy from children. the employees watch the Pokemon machine and scalp all cards before any children can even make it in for the day. 40-50 year olds standing around and watching these cards while in their employee outfits while on the clock is absolutely ridiculous and should not be tolerated by WinCo. read more

I'm grateful to have a local WinCo. I first found the chain while living in Idaho. When I moved to the Sac region, I was relieved to have one nearby! WinCo doesn't have a large variety of each item, but they offer some of the best options at the best prices. Definitely scope out the bulk coffee and bulk dried goods, herbs & seasonings. Great freshness and pricing. Some fav items here for the quality and/or price: milk, Daisy sour cream, butter, string cheese, chicken farts (chicken hearts but chicken farts is funner to say), bulk instant oats for healthy & cheap breakfast oatmeal, bulk candy & coffee, Honey Stinger waffles, canned fish, ethnic foods, chips and salsa/queso/dip in jars, prepared guac in tube next to butter, carrots, apples, bananas, potatoes, tomatoes, and the random household or kitchen tool. FYI, they sell cubed ice and dry ice. And there's a walk-in beer fridge. ;-) Heads up they only accept: cash, debit card and EBT/food stamps/cash. Checks and credit cards not accepted. read more

OV Winco is no longer the friendly, employee owned market we all once loved. Gone are the days of fresh fish and fresh cut meats and friendly conversations with those employees. Now there's no interaction and you get these prepackaged, who knows how long it's been sitting there because it smells iffy foods. Gone are the days of going through the self checkouts with however many items (we usually had 20 or less). Now you have Queen Karen on her perch sending away anyone having 1 more than 15 items. There were 6 out of 8 self checkouts open, but we had to go stand behind people who had 5x what our cart had! Real efficient Karen! read more

Issues with Tonight's visit to Winco in Orangevale that could be solved if they fired their General Manager and replaced them with someone more qualified like whoever runs the Folsom CA location: Most of the handicapped spaces had shopping carts in them Employees smoking very close to the entrance [[HIGHLIGHT]]The outer doors and inner doors both open again for the second night in a row when the temp is in the 30's[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Cashier said she can not accept cash because unlike all other stores that bring a new cash drawer when they come to collect the old one, this Winco location chooses not to replace the drawer with a fresh one. Instead they take it into the office where they spend 20-30 minutes counting it before putting a new drawer in the register. One of the crew flung a piece of cardboard about 15 feet into the air. He was trying to be funny and joking with another employee about it. 2 of the 3 items I wanted from the bulk section were old and nasty. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I could go on and on about the numerous blocked isles and stuff laying everywhere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This store is open 24hrs but if you work night shift, Don't bother going after midnight. read more

Cheryl the checker made my experience this week exceptionally positive.. she was very helpful and called to ask for support to help me, pack up my bags and help me get them to my car. In short order, a Very kind lady named Irena came to help me . As. A senior disabled woman I was so deeply Grateful... their attention to help with such Gracious natures remain a genuine blessing for me... I went to customer service to purchase a money order for one dollar. My rent amount had changed as of the first of the year and I misunderstood the amount and got a money order for a dollar short. When I went back to get a money order for the one dollar that I was short, I was told I cannot buy one by the manager Jeremy due to suspected fraud. My wife heard about it went in 15 minutes later and got one for a dollar. I believe I was profiled so I went back and spoke to Jeremy again who told me there is some law that I believe he completely made up because I cannot find it, and I called corporate who told me there is no policy that says I cannot buy a money order for a dollar. I also asked the two neighboring Winco's and they told me they print money orders for a dollar all the time. I really cannot believe that a store manager would just outright lie so obviously. If someone higher up in management sees this and he lies about it, contact me I have it in recording. read more

No posted signage or anything and I stopped into get supplies for a disabled elderly person and was screamed at to get out when nothing was obvious to someone who doesn't work there.. I'm just thankful theirs a Walmart nearby I can spend my money and not be treated like shit for coming into someplace to feed a hungry starving elderly disabled person. I'll never go back. Horrible experience this morning. There were two lines open with nearly 12 customers waiting to be cashed out. Then, when the company decided to open another lane, the cahier didn't ask the next one in line. So, a bunch of people from the back of the line ran to the new line. After another 10 minutes, another lane opened and the same thing happened - The cashier didn't go to the next in line, but instead, decided to flick her light on and wait for the a-hole customers, in the back of the line to go the her. It's probably the most unprofessional experience I've seen in while. BTW- I will report this each time to see this type of behavior from this company. I was in line more than 32 minutes. read more

Not sure why we don't come here more often, it's a fantastic store! Love their bulk food items, have a great variety of items available. The store is huge and has everything grocery you can think of except flatbreads. I wish they had flatbread. There aren't really weekly sales, but baseline prices are great. They don't take credit cards, only cash and debit, so that can be inconvenient at times. Love how close it i to our house. Also huge parking lot and open 24/7! read more

If you plan on enforcing 15 items at self check out, try enforcing it at ALL hours, for ALL customers. Not when it's convenient for you. And instead of having someone stand there and count items, you should probably have them open another lane since people with 17 items now have to wait behind people with 50 items and the world's slowest cashiers. Not shopping here ever again. Also have seen a container of deli turkey that expired two months ago the last three times I went, they clearly don't check their products. I bought two whole chicken not frozen for 8++, asparagus about $3, a bag of long grain Winco rice for $2++ (3-5 cooking for 2 people)... that was dinner. I already have the herbs, potatoes, seasoning at home... No line. Clean and I saw them wipe down the carts. Excellent job Winco. The girl with straight black hair, glasses, and with the buttons or something on her apron, who worked at the self checkout area on April 24th at around 5-6pm, is emotionally unstable & rude towards disabled people. I am hard of hearing on my right side and I guess she said something to me about how to use my card (I didn't ask for help because I'm used to my card being finicky) and because I genuinely didn't hear her, she came up behind me and loudly said, "WELL THEN DON'T F-EN LISTEN TO ME AND DO WHATEVER YOU WANT." Then proceeded to stare down me and my husband until we left. She is not a teenager, she was clearly an adult. I can't imagine what would happen if a person who was fully deaf came in. Is she going to spaz on them too if they don't acknowledge her right away? It was embarrassing for everyone involved and I left feeling so incredibly uncomfortable. read more

I have a just few concerns about this store. Most of the people stocking produce are not as knowledgeable as the check out clerks. I.e., needed 2 heads of Bok choy for Kimchi and at the check out I asked the clerk "Isn't this Bok choy"? She said no, it's Napa cabbage. Went back to ask a person in produce "please show me Bok choy. He didn't know the difference as there was only Napa cabbage in both slots. It will work fine, a good substitute. Over the 4th of July weekend, 7:00AM Saturday there was no 80/20 ground. Closest was a 5 lb chub or 93/7 extra lean. Decided to grab a 3-4 lb brisket at under $4 lb. I have a meat grinder and it cam out great. This brisket had lots of fat, had to trim 1 lb off to get a decent mix. Would have been a very disappointment served as sliced brisket, see photo. Overall the prices are very close to Walmart, way less than nearby Safeway and Raley's. Quality and selection are okay but they don't stock caviar. If you ask you may get a different answer but like most Walmart stores it's just one of those items that disappear from store shelves without being paid for. read more

The clerk that assisted me was absolutely amazing, patient, kind, compassionate, caring, attentive, and overall she is a beautiful human being. I am not sure what her name was but she has melanated skin and had recently hurt her chin from falling off of her bike she works graveyard shift.
