I love Costco but I just left with my two kids and my brother because we live in the same household. I'm a single mom and don't have child care to just drop my kids off at. I was told as long as we have separate cards we can go in but was turned away at the actual entrance after going through the line. Please inform all employees. She gave me the price as if I paid at an discounted price. I had to go to the manager and back and forth for them to get my full refund back. Worst customer service ever! The design team for this Costco should be fired. 1) food court is deep inside the food court so when you check out and then want to go to food court, you are swimming upstream against all the other people trying to leave the store. 2) very narrow store exit aisle. Any slow person causes a logjam. 3. Lots of gas pumps - all feeding to a one lane exit that crossed with the traffic for people exiting the store parking lot. Can get gas quicker, but be prepared to wait to try to exit. 4. Very few cart areas outside so everyone dumps their cart on the curbs. Costco has great products, return policy, etc but this store has a very poor design. I will drive further to avoid this disaster of a Costco. read more

I especially appreciate them for being so maniacal about cleaning the registers, payment pads, checkout belts, etc during the current times (COVID 19) that we are in. The service at the Tire Center at the Clovis Costco is horrible. The tire technician working this evening refused to help after I explained the air compressor was not working properly. If this is the type of service that is provided at a business that requires a paid membership, I will be spending my monies elsewhere. read more

I have never felt discriminated before until coming to this costco. back story: friday my boyfriend and I came to costco using a shop card (you don't need a membership for this) because his mother gifted us one to use. mind you she does not speak english and does not drive so my boyfriend holds onto her card for safe keeping. we went in and got our groceries but we're told they were not accepting shop cards at the time so they told us to pay with our debit card and we can come back and get the receipt adjusted to where we would get refunded on the debit card and repay with the cash card. we were told this by THREE employees. the cashier, a manager present, and the man at the membership counter. fast forward to today, my boyfriend and I worked all day and came in our pajamas. my boyfriend has tattoos and wore a red hat and as soon as we walked in we got dirty looks from the employees at membership counter. the girl at the counter didn't even call us over she just pointed her finger rudely and singled w her finger for us to come over. my boyfriend explained the situation and she was hostile from the start stating that we had to go to membership pick up to speak w a supervisor. which is conflicting w what we were told friday and so the girl asked my boyfriend if he knew where that was and he replied no because we do not shop at costco only his mother does. she rolled her eyes and looked at me and asked me "do you know where membership pick up is?" I said no and she explained where it was. we were put off by this but whatever we went to membership pick up. a lady asks us if we have been helped we said no and she said she would go get someone to help us. as soon as the "manager" (i think Chasity or cathy or christy was her name idk she had very yellow fried hair and a blank stare like no one's home) comes up. she is hostile and veryyyyy micro aggressive. you can tell she didn't believe us abt what happened and thought we were trying to finesse in some way. (girl we are not trying to come up on $100 worth of organic pasta and grass fed butter plsss ) she starts interrogating my boyfriend and asks if he has a membership and he tells her no but i have my moms card and she got extremely angry abt this claiming that we should not have this membership card and she is going to put a block on the card. I explain to her that we were told to present any card and that you can use a cash card without a membership. she proceeded to start yelling at me and arguing w me getting hostile to where I had to even tell her "you're being hostile when I just letting you know what happened please calm down". she kept rolling her eyes and looking us up and down extremely judgemental the entire time and kept talking over us when we tried to explain why we even had the card. we stopped even engaging w her at one point because she kept laughing at us trying to make us feel stupid for trying to explain the situation. we were calm the whole time and she was hostile from the moment she walked up as if my man was a gang member for wearing red and having tattoos. his tattoos are literally of jesus christ . I was so taken aback that we were being attacked for their fuck up. im a manager in retail and I know you can accommodate especially in that situation but instead she wanted to penalize us because they did wrong and she was definitely profiling my boyfriend from the moment we stepped. this company needs to do better because profiling is a serious issue and this girl was being aggressive to the max. i hope to take this up w corporate cause that behavior was insane for a manager at costco but just wanted to give everyone a warning. read more

Like anything new... it's nice and clean in the beginning. It's like every other Costco just brand new and a huge parking lot which is packed with cars... I had to park all the way towards the street and it's already 95 degrees out. WARNING to anyone going here, just don't do it not yet! Give it a month to die down a little. The amount of people felt like it was he day before Fourth of July or some huge Holliday! So very frustrating when you pay a membership, pay for food court items and the business doesn't hold up its end. Every single time we come shopping, at least once a month, their food court is in shambles. Drink dispensers without ice and nearly all the drink options out of syrup. It's not difficult to refill, they are literally attached by tubes to boxes of flavoring. When you need employee assistance looking for items in store more often than not they give the wrong aisle or have no idea where something is or say "I'm not sure if we have that, if we do it would be in this area" and then we find it across the store. Literally watched an employee run past several aisle with a large case dolly and almost hit us and ran into another customer. After telling him to slow down do you think he listened? No. Continued to run across the store nearly running into several others. You managed to actively discriminate against people during the pandemic and now that restrictions are lifted the effort and care is beyond subpar. Get it together. read more

The new Costco is bigger, more parking space, more gas pumps. I went in there late in the evening to avoid the crowd but there's still a lot of people and to think it's day#6 from the grand opening. Service at the cashier is fast as always compared to other stores such as Walmart. Getting food at the food court is a whole different story though, maybe it's just today but the pre paid line was way too long. It was very slow, I've waited 20 min for just a mocha freeze. There were only 3 people at the cash paying line and another line for those ordering whole pizza. Maybe they should add more staff or make the system better so that there won't be such a long wait. read more

Running errands for my mother who works 6 days a week and currently is busy with family stuff. One of the errands was returning some items at Costco. Showed up and they denied me a return. I explained that she could not be here and asked for sympathy and they instead threatened to revoke my mothers membership. She has had the black card membership for over 15 years and I explained that it comes with a family card and that's what I was trying to use. Employee denied me and told me to leave before she ended the membership since she already had the information. I was shocked, do better Costco! Where did you hire these people? Off the streets? This is what it says on the Executive membership description on the website. "Members receive one free Household Card for anyone over the age of 18 and living at the same address." I am over the age of 18 and my ID has the same address on the Costco card. I still can not believe what happened but I'm not surprised because it's in Clovis. read more

As me and my wife walked in with our 2 year old the Costco staff at the front door told us we could only go 2 per membership. even if we had a baby it counted. At the same time another couple was walking in same situation, yet they didn't tell them anything, maybe because our skin complexion it was just irritating to have this situation happening. read more

Newest costco in fresno/clovis area. Probably the biggest also. It's totally undisputed as the best costco in the entire metropolitan area of fresno and possibly the entire central valley region. Ive been to many Costco's especially in my native area in the bay area. This is probably the best one I've been to. What puts them over the top here is the SELF CHECK OUT!! First I've ever seen and was shocked to see it since I go to costco all the time. It's a fast system as well, not like Walmart's crappy slow system. There is a con with the costco self check out is that big items that have akward positioning of the barcode can be difficult or impossible to scan because they dont have the barcode gun scanner (at least I didnt see it on my station). The gas station is also very nicely setup as there is 30 pumps! with multiple lanes and enough room to queue so it shouldnt backup too far. I went first week of opening on sunday where its always known to be crowded for all costcos and although there were many lining up for gas, because there was so many lanes it spread the traffic out nicely. The food court is inside--I had to say this because there are some costcos that have them outdoor, but probably not a good idea during the summer in fresno. They have the usual stuff like tire center, pharmacy, food court etc. The food court is updated with the self ordering and have a good space with tables to eat. I noticed this costco had some unique items that I haven't seen in the other costcos here in fresno/clovis or in a few san jose area costcos I frequent. That may just be because its grand opening week so who knows. Overall, its a nice costco. Only major issue I had which I wont count negatively because I'm assuming its due to being the hype and grand opening week IS the crowd. WAY CROWDED even after a week since its opened. This is the biggest costco yet it's the most crowded Ive been to in any costco in the fresno/clovis area and I've been to all the others regularly. It rivals or even tops the bay area crowd costcos I try to avoid. So I hope the crowd dies down, but I'm not too sure it will much. Fresno and Clovis is growing every year. Clovis is nearing 120K population and Fresno is already the 5th biggest city in CA and I think the area needs another Costco to spread the crowd. One in SW 93727 would be perfect. read more

Their hiring staff discriminates against Trans people and instead of addressing the issue they try to just shut you up. I applied online and walked in store to turn in a copy of my resume. I handed it to the hiring manager Silver who I introduced myself to as Kai then she looked at my resume and intentionally called me Katie and refused to give me the time of day. 5 minutes later another person walks in and she interviews them on the spot. I apparently missed her call for an interview, which I believe she only let ring once, and she didn't leave a voicemail. When I returned the call she was gone for the night and I was told to call at 11 the next morning. I call at 11:05 she gets on the phone super rudely then once I tell her who it is she is even more rude and told me "I called and you didn't answer so I moved on, too bad". I contacted corporate to which they sent over the issue to the warehouse manager who didn't want to deal with it himself so he pushed it off onto the assistant manager. She called me in, listened to my side of the story then apologized and told me they were done hiring, which they weren't cause multiple people were hired right after. Btw I work for Instacart and am typically in the store 7 days a week, multiple times a day, and have been told by multiple people I would be an asset to the company and actually get asked where items are by customers constantly. Besides the hiring staff and upper management the rest of the staff is amazing and very helpful though read more

Honestly the reviews on the tire center weren't wrong, they really are telling the truth. The guy that was helping us at the tire center desk, I think his name was Richard, couldn't really do his job effectively. First he told us he needed to go outside to get our license plate number and other vehicle info such as the VIN I'm guessing so that was fine, a few minutes later he came back and then started doing some other things and then said he needed to go back outside again to get the mileage on the car. This made no sense, this is his job and he makes it so we have to waste more time by him having to keep going back outside to get more info? You would think he would know the info he needs already but I guess not. Only excuse I can think of is just him trying to pass time. Also if you have an appointment I wouldn't recommend selecting 9am as we got there 15 minutes early as according to the instructions and still had to wait until 9 which was the time of our appointment and then our vehicle didn't start getting worked on until around 9:20 when on the email they said if you're a couple minutes late you wouldn't be prioritized however they couldn't hold up to their own standard? Only reason why I'm giving two stars is because of the nice guy who called us to say the car was done and drove it out to us. I went to costco this morning to return an item, the return manager treated my husband and I as if we were a waste of his time. He wouldn't even talk to us! He said No we wont take it and turned his back on us. I tried to ask a question and he refused to turn around and speak with us he kept walking away! The sales associate that originally was helping us was stunned. We are shocked at how we were treated. Costco needs to deal with this man immediately he doesn't know what customer service is! If this is accacceptable to Costco then we cancle our executive membership and switch to Sam's club. read more

I had a few questions regarding picking out glasses and she was very condescending. I had to return and asked a different employee to help me. This store has the bad nature of always being packed to the point it seems understaffed. The guidelines they followed during the pandemic were lackluster as many people just pull down their masks immediately after entering. I don't blame the employees so much, but it is a real concern. The reason this receives a 4 star is the few gem employees you rarely meet. I went in for a tire repair, and unfortunately it couldn't be fixed so I had to come out with a new tire entirely. During the process I was being updated about why it couldn't be fixed, my options , and just what not. Overall felt very informed about the decision I was making. It's nice that it's new. It's nice that there are more gas pumps. It's nice that there is more parking. That being said, I have never experienced such rude customer service at a costco before. It was busy when I got there (isn't Costco always busy?), but no one was available to help and all the employees acted as if the customers where in their way. A specific example: I was in line (yep, it was that crowded) to get a case of water. I was going to grab a case and the employee that was there pushed through and had me back up, and took three cases of water away, then another followed and began restocking the front rather than the empty side (on the end). As a result I lost my place in the line of people... I decided I didn't need water that badly. Then at the checkouts I had been waiting in a line for a long time. An employee came by and told me to go to a different lane as the one I was in was closing. I had to walk backwards around shelving (because of other lines of people) and by the time I circled around people moved to the lane I was directed to... this began the wait again. Employees trying to make sales on additional services (in this case, one was for satellite tv, another for water testing) were very pushy and would continue to hound for a sale. Finally, the receipt checking lane. I was in line and as other people were walking out (without going through the receipt check line) they were being stopped and instead of being sent to the line to have their receipt reviewed they were checked right then.
