I guess my last review for Costco was over 6 years ago! I just left this location on a Monday evening at 7 pm and I still love coming here. There's no samples at 6:30 pm but that's ok. There's often good deals/coupons on a variety of items. Food court still pretty good with their slice of pizza or whole pizza (though I don't care too much for the thick dough and I'd like their combo toppings back). Ice cream pretty good. I like their $2.xx cookie. Their return policy is still pretty decent, not as great as it used to be but maybe because people return too many items, I don't know. read more

I was in line at the Costco self checkout a few weeks ago. An employee herded me over to the empty self checkout line. I had no idea how to use it. I stood there for a minute and tried to scan. Soon there were several people behind me. Soon those people behind me were getting anxious. Finally a Costco member said there was another line open over a few feet away. I left the self checkout lane and walked over to the regular checkout lane. By the time I got there, there were several people ahead of me. I had to wait another 10 minutes. Finally a cashier rang up my order, being efficient and certainly not friendly. And then I put in my credit card. It was rejected again and again and again. I thought the card was bad. I started calling my credit card company. And, Not only did I get the aggravation of the people behind me, but the Costco cashier stopped me and in a rude voice, read me the riot act about how I needed to have a Costco credit card. Lastly, on my way out, I saw employees checking off all sorts of people's receipts. I started making my way out, bypassing the receipt checking. I was then rudely and physically pulled aside, threatened, and lectured on how that they have every right to check my receipt. To complete this review, I want to talk about selection and value. The selection doesn't matter so much to me--Costco usually has very little selection. It is the value which is the primary reason most people go to Costco. But to me it barely matters. When sales people and cashiers are downright rude to a customer, that makes the customer, especially me, shop at other places. These days my wife still insists on shopping at Costco. But I avoid Costco, even with their little free food taste testing stations and lower prices, it's just not worth my aggravation. One last complaint: I never buy food from the food court. I'm a vegetarian, and the only food I ever bought was their awful pizza. Never again. 0 out of 5 carrots. read more

Costco always has great sales on meat i have my go to Butcher shops. But when I'm at Costco, I never hesitate to grab a few packs of meat from here. They have an amazing selection . If There's something I don't see. I hit up the butcher in the back. I always get great service. read more

Not the easiest accessibility, always crowded or bottlenecked traffic but it's Costco and we all need our Costco. They had the party trays we needed ready to go without having to pre order them. Great deal for a party tray competitive pricing. Different selections and varieties. Service was good from staff, self check out available and food area with seating. Gasoline also available but is usually very crowded causing delays to get out of main parking lot. read more

Went a couple weeks ago and had a cashier ring me up named Daiana. She had the worst attitude ringing me up but I let it go because I thought hey, maybe someone gave her a hard time and maybe she's not having a good day as I also work in customer service. I went back today and went into her line again. When it was my turn, she looks at me and says "What can I do for you?" I looked at her and looked back down at my items on the conveyor belt confused. When I look back up at her, she raised an eyebrow to me so I pointed at my items again, confused because clearly I'm in line...to get rang up? She looks at me and says "next time don't take the cart on that side" and rolls her eyes. I laughed because she could've said that in a nicer way. It was my mistake for pulling the empty cart on the wrong side but she could've corrected me in a more professional manner. So disappointed. read more

we ordered our pizza inside at around 6:30-6:40. we made our way through the line to be told it's a 10-15 minute wait. we waited off to the side at like 6:57. they told us 10-15 minutes and we have been waiting well over 40 minutes for pizza outside of line. not counting in the line wait time. people in line behind us already left with their pizzas. we got 1 cheese. 1 pepperoni. I asked for the status of my order and they told me I'm next. then proceeded to call 3 other pizza orders. they called me and told me it's going to be another 7 minutes! this is absolutely ridiculous. if pizza is being ordered they should be aware of how many they need. mine were paid for and accounted for and I've been waiting over an HOUR!! Terrible management. If they were honest I would've asked for a refund and gone home. read more

9/8/24 Stopping by to get ice for the swamp cooler while in the area. Got some bagel chips for the crew to pair with the basil pesto dip. Halloween in the brain, propaganda is strong in the industry to make/lure us spend $$$$. Sometimes I just think it's so crazy that people decorate for Halloween the way they embellish it for Christmas. These more than life-like figures (ghouls & such) go for lots of dough. Amazingly, too, my cousins & siblings say there's hardly anybody anymore trick or treating at their houses. Go figure. This Costco in Riverside is somewhat laiid out the way Montclair is, the entrance is to your left, exit to your right. I'm accustomed to the one in Lakewood where is the other way around (the right way). Additionally, the self checkout at this store is towards the exit (whereas in Montclair, self checkout is towards the back by the restrooms). It was a quick pit stop for ice, so we were in & out in a flash. Typical Sunday near closing time, super busy, including the food court. By the way, at the entrance, this store does NOT have the scanners for your membership card yet. read more

The only positive thing about this Costco is that it's closer to my house. Otherwise, it feels like a very generic location with limited selection compared to others nearby. I've also experienced some rude employees during my visits. Personally, I'd rather drive a bit farther to the Eastvale or Chino locations, which seem to have better food options and a wider selection of home items. read more

This review is for the cashier LOLINE, working Tuesday October 14 at 11:00am in the checkout line. You need to be retrained in customer service. There's no need to be snarky and rude to your younger executive members, I pay for my right to shop here. Fix the terrible attitude, the other customers in the line were staring at you... Never had a cashier argue with me over wanting two transactions and two separate receipts. Like, is that not your job....... She also smushed my berries?? though i'm not sure if that was intentional or not... :(( I'm curious though, what made you treat us differently, Loline? Was it because of our age or was it because of our race? We were both asian, and you treated us with disdain from the very beginning (at hello). So I have a Costco life hack. Yes, you read that right. For a quick and easy dinner I'll pick up one of their $4.99 rotisserie chickens for soft tacos.After my Costco paper goods run I'll go down the bread aisle and grab the 1,000 pack of tortillas (just kidding, but you will be eating tortillas for days haha) . I'll continue to the deli and pick up rotisserie chicken and boom the rest is soft taco history ( with condiments of my choice). On my last visit I noticed that the chicken comes in a bag now instead of a box.The flavor of the bagged chicken was almost non existent to me. I missed that deep rotisserie flavor.Don't know if there is a new recipe . read more

Worst Customer Service I have ever encountered. The return desk would not credit me for a grocery item that had gone stale, despite their 100% return guarantee. I then spent 25 minutes talking to the assistant manager just to get a $2 refund on another item that had already been opened prior to my purchase. They then chased after me when I entered the store with the item that they refused to take back, stating I could not bring it into the store. They then held me for another 15 minutes until I threw the unreturned item into the trash. Its employees are undertrained, over-entitled, and provide astoundingly horrible customer service (despite being ridiculously overpaid.) Save your money and spend it at Sam's Club or Walmart, where prices and return policies are much better than this chain that profits on over-priced membership fees. read more

The staff and management at this Costco location were extremely unhelpful and rude. At other Costco stores, everything usually goes smoothly for me, but that is never the case here. I briefly stepped out to my car to get something for my mother, who has dementia, and when I tried to re-enter the store to assist her, I was not allowed back in. I explained that I am her son and caregiver, but the employees did not seem to care. They made me wait at the exit while a manager was called, who was just as dismissive and unprofessional as the staff. They simply DO NOT care about disabled people or their caregivers. 3:40 on Thursday, August 7, 100+ degrees outside and I purchased a $400 full cart of groceries. 5 kiddos in tow (behaving nicely) and 37 weeks preggo. For the first time ever, I asked for help out to my car. The person checking receipts said she couldn't find me help and I needed to to track down a cart guy myself. I just decided to unload myself. Also, the cashier's helper was pushing me to load faster all while being extra helpful to people with a couple items in their cart. I understand the 3 Star rating for this Costco. The front desk returning service rep(Veronica) was very rude and unfriendly towards members most of the time(this is not the first time), she is prejudice and intentionally giving members very hard time of returning products. Even her supervisor Gregory not very nice either, totally making Costco members hesitant to shop there, very disappointed that the way these two Front desk representatives treating Loyal Costco members. This is often the go-to location because it's close to the 99 Ranch Market and we can kill two birds plus lunch in a relatively efficient trip. Like all Costco locations this one isn't perfect but it has an Optical Department unlike many others. It's the usual layout inside except the Food Court is outside, old school style. Also typical is the stock by zip code and demographic model, so you won't see sides of lamb hanging in the frozen section. I've noticed that this model also affects the wine and liquor selections and this store bests other locations such as Eastvale and the old one in Tustin. Overall, it's still a chore that's best finished quickly but who can pass on the hotdogs? read more

I've been coming to this location for the past 24 years. The service is always descent. Most of the employees on the floor always seem in a hurry when you ask for help, but the cashiers are great and so are the box people. I just don't like the heavy crowds and long lines. Costco needs an employee or 2 micromanaging the lines because it's pure chaos sometimes and just when you think you've found the end of a line, you find out the lines ends around the corner of a random aisle. Finally visited the infamously Costco location where the deathly tragic shooting took place in 2019, but aside from what happened, the warehouse were pretty stocked, I found a lot of food items that normally discontinued at my regular warehouses and only available at business centers, well I guess I struck gold here, while green seedless grapes I bought last week in SD was rising to $9.99, this item still stay at $6.89, I also found the shrimp wonton noodles soup for my Mom, also a lot of generic items which I never seen at other Costco before, so I am happy to shop here, it was convenient when I was in the area. read more

The store is set up backwards. Carts stacked where the exit is. The food court is a hot mess. They won't let you call in a pizza order unless it's a large amount. You have to order at the kiosk and then stand in line to tell them that you ordered. We ordered and did all our shopping thinking we would just come out and grab our pizza like every other Costco we've been to, but didn't tell them we had ordered so had to sit in our car trying to keep our food cold while we waited 20 minutes to get our pizza. And no, there weren't any signs to tell us that we had to order and then stand in line to tell them that we ordered. Normally love Costco, but this was a very frustrating experience. read more

I'm a steak lover and have found their Filet Minon is the best ever. Every time the wife wants a steak dinner, Costco it is. They have two grades of this cut , pay the extra $'s for the higher cut and you won't be disappointed. In my pic you will see melted blu cheese crumbles as a topping. Season heavenly and let it set to room temp for approximately 2 hours. Pan sear, butter or oil , 1 minute each side , finish in oven 10-15 minutes at 300. The products are there and all but the employees are a bit out of touch with their customers and really don't care about the situations that occur. I personally watched an elderly couple get the shrug off by the front door staff that needed help buying a refrigerator. I just told my wife, if I EVER go to Costco again with her it'll have to be another one other than this location. I personally feel racially profiled at times at the entrance and exit. We spend at least $500 each visit and don't feel good about it after each visit for over a year now. The subtle comments we get from cashiers as if we shouldn't have what we get. Pharmacy employees not really friendly ..won't go beyond to help members ..members are the reason we have jobs. Ordered tires online and set up my appointment to have my tires installed, had to cancel my initial appointment as all 4 tires took a while to get shipped. (Took longer than 2 weeks). The shipping information did not update through my Costco online account either which is why I had to constantly call and ask. One of the associates let me know he'd call me once my other tires arrived, which he did so we set my appointment. I arrived and dealt with one employee who seem frustrated and kept reiterating that my tires had not yet arrived and kept cutting me off when I tried to speak "don't know why they called you we don't have them". However, they ended up finding my order and installing my tires which didn't take too long. For that and the guy who updated me on my order, 3 stars. Let's hope the warranty and the free services like tires rotating and balance that come with the tire purchase/installation isn't as difficult. read more

I was in there today and like most people ended up buying more things than I had anticipated. I needed two flat beds to pull all my things out. Karla at the door called over someone on cart duty and two men (Tony and Andres) ended up coming to help me. Andres took one flat bed and I was going to pull the other to my car and Tony told me to let him pull it. How kind. When we got to my Mazda CX-5 I wondered how these two were going to put all this stuff in my car. I am a take charge type of woman but I was exhausted, sweaty and just not thinking right from being tired. Tony and Andres took control and strategically put everything in my car and I was left in shock because I truly thought I was going to have to return stuff. I am not the type to impress easily however was left very impressed by these two. Thank you both so much for helping me, making this easy for me, taking charge and just being two stand up men. Items purchased, TV, 12 storage plastic bins, two huge concrete plant pots, blow dryer, fan, and like 7 other items....like I said I bought more than I anticipated and wasnt sure this would all fit in my car.
