I've never shopped at the store on the weekend until now it was a total nightmare. Place is crowded and dirty. Parking lot is impossible to navigate. There are shopping carts literally blocking aisles of the parking lot and not just left behind by customers but put in the return area so many of them that they don't fit anymore gas station attendent were rude. rude. I know it's not to a store based on how the customers act but they could work on their flow in their store and in their parking lot to make it a much more pleasant experience. I have stopped for gas at 7 am on a weekday and the has always been very pleasant. I guess I caught them on a bad day, but I will not be back. read more

My goto Costco. The price has been going up but still cheaper than other supermarkets. I like to try their frozen food items but most of them are too salty for me. We went to this Costco the day it first opened back in 2016. We remember how clean and nice it was as well as the amazing smell of freshly baked pastries like it was yesterday. Even now, this Costco still is one of the better locations to visit. It's big and spacious, had a fantastic variety of products with affordable pricing, and of course the service was fantastic as expected at Costco. The parking lot is still really good and has more than enough spaces even on it's busiest days, and the gas station is never too packed because they fill your tank for you which saves stress. This Costco actually benefitted my family and I best as before we used to go the Sam's Club that used to be located at Nassau Park. Once this Costco was built the Sam's Club closed down which wasn't entirely Costco's fault and then my parents we were pleased to be able to sign up for Costco as we always preferred Costco over Sam's. Costco is the best and will continue to live on and we thank you for being there for us Costco! read more

With the new gas pumps they need to have someone explain how the flow of traffic works. Release the cars from front to back so the line moves at once. They bounce from left to right and people get impatient and try to cut the lines because there is an open spot. I am amazed and impressed at the remarkable efficiency of Costco in managing the inflow of customers and quantity control in the current age of social distancing and hoarding. Upon entry into the lobby there's a crew disinfecting carts as you move into a serpentine pathway made of pallets. Calm prevails as employees urge customers to keep a six foot distance from others in the queue - amplifying the order and composure is a large sign displaying a "top 40 playlist" of sorts indicating which popular items are in and out of stock with associated quantity limitations. Important, since upon entry to the warehouse there's absolutely no mad dash to the water, rice or toilet paper. It never ceases to amaze, how easily most reasonable people accept things if they appear to be logical and well thought out. No psychotic episodes and foaming at the mouth, just calm and equanimity all the way to checkout. On a side note, it's interesting (at least to me) that all the business in the store seems to be confined to the household staples and food aisles. The interior of the store where clothing, kyacks and patio furniture usually dominate during the spring is eerily empty and is a disquieting harbinger of what the rest of the year's social and economic prospects may look like. Prosperous enthusiasms have clearly given way to survivalist instincts. Whatever, the future holds, Costco is damn impressive. read more

I love Costco. However, this review is just for the tire center in Lawrenceville. They consistently let me down. It usually takes hours to get any work done on the tires you bought from them. So, I took their advice and I made an appointment one time, hoping that would help shorten the time. Instead, when I arrived, it took me 30 minutes in line just to check in at the counter, only to be told they would not be able to get to my car that day because a couple of mechanics were out, even though I had an appointment. Another time I went there around 4 PM with a nail in my tire which had low pressure. The mechanic had the nerve to say that because I didn't have an appointment, they couldn't see me that evening. Road hazards are unpredictable ...What good is road hazard protection, if you need to make an appointment to repair your tire? I'm not so sure the cost savings are worth the hassle and unreliability of ever servicing the tires after they're installed. read more

So this is what mid-30's life is all about huh? Spending Sunday afternoon at Costco? Getting excited about being the first to review one!???! Well, there are definitely worse places! Where else can one buy travel packages, tires for the car, expensive jewelry, giants vats of condiments, and then grab a $1.50 hot dog and drink (price unchanged since 1985) on the way out? Oh yeah they sell gas at decent prices too and the attendant didn't even ask for our membership card. What brings this review down is the sign up experience. Donna was EXTREMELY high pressure about "upgrading" to their "executive" level membership. I understand that this has some sort of cash back system, it also costs twice as much as the regular "gold star" membership: $120 is a lot more than $60. On top of that, she then proceeded to try and browbeat me into signing up for some sort of Costco Visa card where there is also cash back for various purchases (I recall 3% for dining and I believe 5% on fuel, 1% across the board). Sorry Donna, I respect that you have a job to do and have many years of sales experience myself. As they say: "it's a tough racket." But how many times and in how many ways do I have to say no? I'm already coming in here giving you my hard earned money. I don't want to rack up credit card debt on 36 packs of toilet paper and 5 gallon jars of mayonnaise. You wasted a half hour of our Sunday afternoon and really created a terrible first impression of this store. Enough to where it makes me reconsider my membership. Fortunately one can cancel it anytime for a full refund (great policy). Her colleague also got involved in the sales games and I feel like they stalled processing the membership for whatever reason. Why did they care that I was a member in 2011? Why did the talk in secret between each other. It was a true car dealership experience. Also misleading as they downplay the fact that ANY debit card is accepted at Costco, it's just that Visa is the only CREDIT card they accept (and in the past they only took Discover and later, only Amex). We'll see how the experience goes now that we are members. The store is a nice step up from Sam's club in nearly every aspect: cleaner restrooms, MUCH better selection of products, employees are treated & compensated much more equitably, higher quality meats, and the food court is awesome: $9.95 for an 18 inch pizza plain or with toppings, $1.35 soft serve; $3 "chicken bakes" (like a chicken bacon Caesar hot pocket), açaí bowls; 25¢ water bottles, and more. I'll update the review in a less verbose fashion depending how this plays out. Unlike other Costco's, no liquor store is here. Just remember to bring cash, a debit card, or visa credit card for payment. "Pro tip:" you do not need a membership for the food court or the pharmacy. Love this Costco location. It's rather large for NYC-- I'd go as far as saying it's comparable in size to the one I go to in rural New Jersey. Anytime I go in with my service dog they stop me and ask for proof which is fine and I'm appreciative that they are kind and professional with their words regarding this. Only had to see the service desk once because my boyfriend needed to renew his membership. The lady who helped us was very sweet and speedy despite having a very long line of people waiting. The only thing that irked me is she was talking to us very closely with her mask underneath her nose. You might as well just not wear the mask because it's much less ineffective when worn incorrectly. But overall I'm giving a very positive experience because the store is clean, almost always properly in stock of every product and most importantly, who doesn't LOVE a $1.50 hot dog. Oh and the employees working the food station who prepare and serve the pizza, hot dogs, etc are always extremely prompt and kind! read more

This location is very conveniently located off business route 1. All stock is up to date and the store is very well kept. The down side of the location is traffic, especially on the weekends! Ever since local Sams club closed, Costco became over crowded. The parking lot is usually packed and registers are crammed. This location seems to be a bit busier and understaffed at the check out area. Normally there would be two associates working for one lane, but this location only has the cashier and no helper. Just like other locations, this Costco is clean. One thing that makes my trip today a bit different is an associate name Chris who took his time out to help me with an item that is still wrapped up on the crate above the shelf, instead of calling someone else and have me wait or ignored me. I visited this store for the first time last week. My mother, who is sick with Covid, sent me to pick her up some groceries. As I went to checkout, the employee at the self-checkout line stopped me, said he was a cop. This took me off-guard because he was clearly a Costco employee. He kept said that using someone else's membership card is just like driving without a license and kept saying "What do you have to say for yourself?" I explained that I was just buying groceries for my mother, who was at home, sick. He eventually got his manager and the manager let me buy the items after lecturing me for another 5 minutes. All the while they were holding up the self-checkout line. The brisket I purchased was not the best quality and tasted like it had been left out for days. It's safe to say I will not be returning to this store in the near future, and my parents are considering cancelling their membership. Be careful when shopping here, the employees take their job very seriously. read more

I personally hate the idea of shopping at Costco. I hate buying groceries by the gallon, bushel, or pallet. Even though I live in a household of many, it still seems wasteful at times unless I am buying for a party. Having said that, I resisted getting a membership for years until I was forced to sign up when given a gift membership. Even though this Costco isn't the closest to my home, I do shop here the most. For the most part the items I buy here are non perishable. I usually stack up on water, snacks and gum because those in my household are snack hounds. (I'm not entirely sure they digest the snacks at the rate I have to buy snacks.). Anyway, they do sell Mexican Coca Cola at Costco and that my friends is more than enough to keep my membership going. The people that work here are friendly enough I guess, as long as you don't try to cancel or downgrade. Hahah, no seriously don't try to cancel or downgrade. I tried and it's like being forced to sit through one of those timeshare presentations for a free vacation. Just keep the membership going and you will be ok. They also sell gas here and for the most part the lines move. There is one older lady gas station attendant who is a bit militant and rude but the rest of the gas station attendants are efficient and friendly. There was one guy who helped me out one morning when I didn't have my CC on me. Kudos to that guy! Finally the gas prices are the cheapest in the neighborhood and you don't have to be a member. Costco should be embarrassed for the way they handle issues. on April 27th at 11:00am went to the store. left at 12:00 and a shopping cart hit my NEW truck (2 mths old). The warehouse had all the carts outside because they were using the cart corral as a plant and flower area. I left at 12pm to find that a shopping cart had hit my truck, the cart was still there next to the truck. There was no employees collecting carts that morning one person was riding an electric cart while pulling a flat bed inside. Went to the desk to report the incident and had to fill out paperwork. was told I would have someone reach out to me in a couple of days on how to fix this. After 4 days I called and told it could take a week. Finally got a call from someone from GALLAGHER BASSETT. This is a risk management company that handles issues for Costco. It's Costco's way of avoiding their customers. Gallagher Bassett has a terrible reputation if you look at all the negative reviews about this company. You would think Costco would avoid such a deceitful company. Gallagher Bassett then called to tell me that Costco is not liable. I asked how when Costco had all the carts outside not where they are suppose to be, and no one collecting carts. So then I called Costco home office in Washington and they referred me to call the North East Administration office. I called here left multiple messages before finally getting a call back. The person in charge said that he would talk to his supervisor and see what could be done. This was 1.5 weeks ago still no call! All this for a dent in my Leased Truck that would be under $500 to fix. Costco would rather not help there customers then take care of an issue that they caused. The best part is the Security cameras at the Costco saw the whole thing and they have it taped and they can see it was their fault. As soon as I made the report they had 4 people outside getting carts and securing them in cart corrals and locking them together in the front of the building! So far the only response was from their risk management company that told me its not their responsibility to maintain their parking area its the customers who need to not park there! read more

Not sure why the first review of Costco Gas migrated over to Costco, but I don't mind sharing my thoughts a second time. It should come as no surprise that the super warehouse retailer Costco also pumps gas at most of its locations. It is priced a few cents per gallon less than the other stations in keeping with its business model of putting pressure on traditional retail with lower prices on most products, but not all. Similarly, some local outlets are cheaper than Costco Gas, you just have to know where to look. While convenient to buy gasoline while food shopping if you don't get out much, the downside is the wait in line required to reach the pump - just like the long wait inside to get to the cashier. If you don't mind the queue you are in good shape. If the perpetual waiting grates on you (as it does me), the last thing you relish is a second line up for gas. Too, they don't tell you who supplies their petrol, something you may care about if your car runs differently depending on the quality of the stuff in your tank. I generally have better things to do with my time and patience. But, that's just me. read more

Costco is not always a great deal. You have to know your prices. I do love their Jack's organic salsa, the tortillas, kerrigold cheddar cheese. You can't beat the hotdogs. Love this Costco! Parking lot is really big and it's easily accessed from the road. I find the inside always clean and they have lots of product. I rarely see any empty shelves. I was on the fence at first for buying a membership but after my first visit I had no regrets. The meat and produce is fresher then shop rite and lasts way longer. Even buying the food in bulk it's lasting longer then when we buy things at shop rite. Don't forget to check out the food court on the way out! My favorite is the churro and the hot dog and soda! I stopped in here with some friends for lunch, and it was a pretty great experience through and through! One of our group was running a bit late, so my other friend and I went to get some gas before going inside, which wasn't too bad at all. Gas prices at Costco are always great, and unlike other Costco gas stations I've been to, we were in and out pretty quickly. I thought it might be crowded, being lunchtime, but it wasn't bad at all. Food there is so reasonably priced, and I'm always happy to see that buying water from the vending machine only costs a quarter. It's great to see that the company treats its members well. The most expensive item on the menu at the food court is the beef brisket sandwich, for a whopping $5! One downside is that everything has a pretty high calorie count, but it does taste quite good. My buddy and I got the brisket sandwich and were quite satisfied. I'm not a soda drinker, but free refills on that is nice too. Free samples are always great, and the price cuts they do on certain items each month is nice, since that's not always expected of wholesale stores. read more

About a month ago, my landlord bought Whirlpool WDT710PAHZ dishwasher to replace a failed one in my place. As of today, I still don't have a dishwasher that cleans dishes. 2. Installation service, some place called Nixon in Pennsylvania, did not show up when scheduled. When they did show up a week later, they were actually quite knowledgeable. 3. Dishes come out dirty. Soap does not dispense. 4. Costco customer service is non-existent: they don't answer phones, no email contact, no chat...nothing. Very pleased that this branch opened up. Previously I had to schlep out to Warminster if I wanted to shop Costco. And unfortunately I wasn't able to do that much considering time constraints and the fact that it was so far. So I basically relied on BJ's and Sam's Club which are far inferior to Costco in my opinion. As for the store itself, it's an exact carbon copy of every other Costco (surprise) and the goods are the same as well. I went to Costco in Princeton this morning (April 18, 2024, at 7:48AM) to get gasoline and the gas attendant was rude when I parked my car at Bay#16. All the bays were full except for Bay# 16, no line and it is open. He gave me attitude and a dirty look when I stopped at Bay#16. He was rude when he asked for the type of gasoline and took my membership card and credit card hastily with harsh look. After the service was done, he slapped the receipt on my hand without a word. He does not want to walk an extra mile from his assigned bay station or current post. Then after the service, I saw his lips moved cursing softly and he gave me a dirty look. I can see on his body gesture that he was upset. I was not able to get his name tag, but I can describe him. He is black, chubby, and his height is about 5'7" to 5'10". I feel threatened if he serves me again in your location. I do not think he should be in the service business because it might jeopardize customers' safety. read more

I mean nothing you can't get at Sam's Club down the street at either the same or a slightly higher price. It gets very crowded here (especially on the weekends, obviously) and the store is somewhat disorganized. None of the aisles are labeled, unlike SC, so you have to walk through each of them to see what's actually there. There's a lady at the door who makes sure you have a Costco membership and if you don't she either 1. makes you leave or 2. asks you to sign up for one. They used to do that at SC, but stopped a couple of years ago. Also, parking is in short supply for the demand that currently exists, so plan on walking a sizable distance to and from the entrance. I do love the variety of items sold here, the free samples on weekends, and the fact that there is cheap gas for members! lines for that are also long so plan on waiting a little bit to get filled up. I'll probably still go to Sam's Club, but it's nice knowing people have other options. Hopefully the competition will drive down prices in both stores! read more

This review is specifically for the optometrist and vision services within Costco, but I do think the retail experience of Costco is great due to its competitive prices (including gas) and convenience. If you're having doubts about scheduling an eye appointment through the Costco optometrist, you shouldn't. I believe the optometrist at Costco is an independent practice (Yunic Vision Care) that just happens to be located in the Costco. I called on a Monday to schedule an appointment and was able to get a slot Friday the same week at a time after my work ended. I went to see Dr. Sara Hanna-Salem, and she was really great. To preface, usually when I go to an ophthalmologist, I feel like they overcorrect my vision to an unnecessary degree for my everyday life (I stare at a computer a couple feet in front of me for my job). The glasses prescription an ophthalmologist prescribes me usually makes me feel disoriented. When I explained this to Dr. Hanna-Salem, she was extremely understanding during the eye exam and accommodated this concern. She tried various prescriptions that were clearer than a very old but comfortable prescription I had but not so clear that the final one was nauseating. I want to stress that she took the time to go to find the prescription that suited my needs and my comfort. When we wrapped up, Dr. Hanna-Salem told me that if I had any issues with the glasses prescription, I could call her to see if we could make any adjustments. Luckily, I don't think I'll have to call her since it was just right the first time. As for the Costco Vision department, I also had a great experience. I had purchased my own frames and wanted to have the latest prescription put in. For a $25 fee on top of prescription fee, they were able to cleanly install the prescription into my frames in 6 business days (the range is 5-8 business days). Without using my eye insurance, the entire cost came out to $110 after tax (the other pre-tax cost was $80 for hi-index lenses for my poor vision). The lenses also came with coating and anti-blue light (for the computer) for a 2 cent cost. I'd definitely come back again if I need to both see the optometrist and get a prescription for my own frames. read more
