Review for Costco - Automotive/Battery Department I've always trusted Costco for quality products and fair customer service, which is why this experience with their new battery return policy was disappointing. My previous battery was functioning but five years old. Because I was starting a new job and wanted reliability, I proactively purchased a new Interstate battery from Costco in late August. Unfortunately, that battery died on me twice within a few months. Upon inspection, I discovered the battery was leaking electrolyte and had a visible bulge in the casing, which strongly indicates a defect. I brought the battery back to Costco to return it. Naturally, the battery tested as "charged" since I had just driven to the store. However, the focus remained solely on the test result, not on the clear physical signs of failure. The first technician attempted to test the battery with a handheld device and initially tried to connect it backwards, placing the negative lead on the positive terminal. That alone was concerning. Despite pointing out the leak and casing bulge, I was repeatedly told that because the battery tested "good," it could not be returned. A second technician spoke to us in a dismissive tone and said he would "do it this time," but implied we should not expect help in the future. I ultimately had to pay a prorated difference and leave with another battery. What was most troubling was the complete lack of acknowledgment that a leaking battery is unsafe and unreliable, regardless of a momentary charge reading after being driven. Electrolyte leakage and casing deformation should outweigh a parking-lot test result when evaluating a return. Additionally, the same technician incorrectly stated that all push-start vehicles require AGM batteries. That is inaccurate--AGM batteries are required for vehicles with auto stop/start systems, not simply push-button ignition. This misinformation further reduced my confidence in the automotive service provided. This experience has made me question the level of care and expertise customers receive at Costco when purchasing and servicing automotive products. A policy that ignores visible safety defects in favor of a single test reading does not align with the quality and trust Costco is known for. Haven't done a review for the millennia Costco in quite some time. The last time was when there were social distancing lines and everyone staying 6 feet away from each other. My, how times have changed. This Costco is always busy even on the weekdays. It's just varying degrees of business. I would recommend staying away from this location on the weekends as it definitely is at its peak demand. Today, we had a great experience and picked up an Interstate battery for our vehicle. Interstate is one of the 'top-shelf' brands and Costco sells it for a great deal. Only $125 for a 3 year warranted Interstate. My vehicle is a traditional key ignition. If you have a push ignition, you'll just a little bit more, but it is still a super deal for one of the best batteries on the market. If you go to AutoZone or advanced auto parts, similar batteries (Everlasting and Die Hard Platinum) are going to be at least $120 more than you pay at Costco. Everything I need in life can be purchased at Costco! They have lots of good deals and as much as people like to complain. I love it there. There are choices in warehouse stores but I feel that Costco has more items I want to purchase. They are in the process of updating their app and adding more features. The app has a warehouse feature where you can select a warehouse and search if an item is in stock and the current price. The prices ending in 97 are being deleted either seasonally or no longer carried. One thing to note is that some warehouses will mark the same item down faster. They do not price match across warehouses. They will do a price adjustment if the item is in stock and for a lower price than you paid. Online is run as a separate business unit and the prices online are usually a couple bucks higher or more because on "most" items it includes shipping fees. They do not price match from store to online and vice versa. A few things I like are their clothing which sometimes are good quality and some times name brand but probably not the same as the inventory in manufacturer's stores. They mark this down on a regular basis sometimes getting to 2.97. I like Costco prepared foods/deli which are good for quick dinners. They have installed these new temperature sensors for the open cold cases. This is great because you are not relying on someone to manually check the temp. I also like the kitchen/appliances, specialty food items, skin care and seasonal items. Lately I try to stay out of the chip and snack aisles. Their gas stations recently changed their hours so they are open way before and until 10 pm after the warehouse closes. Generally it is the cheapest gas around and the warehouse tab in the app displays the current price per location. Their food court which offers pizzas, sandwiches, hot dogs, ice cream and cookies is usually crazy. Especially near the closing time. If you haven't been there in a while you are required to scan your card at the entrance now to get in. This has reduced some of the people who are not members crowding the food court. I still see people trying to sneak in through the return desk. I believe you can buy drugs at the pharmacy if you are not a member but do not get the discount enjoyed by members. They have good prices on pet meds too. Their optical does require a membership and fun fact Costco is the biggest optical vendor in the US. This is a huge money saver, as well as the tires, home appliances and furniture. The nice thing about Costco is they will refund your membership fee if you are not satisfied. Also they have a lenient return policy but lately they have been tightening it up on the outrageous returns. They have a new president driving change but hopefully keeping all the features that make customers loyal. read more

This Costco can get BUSY! It is near mall of Millenia and tourist spots; with that said, there's plenty of parking. I go to this location when picking up prescriptions and use their optical center as well. The pharmacists and eye doctor's office are all so friendly and helpful. I love that you can find some pretty good deals in bulk. Not to mention, the $5 rotisserie chicken and food court for after-shopping snacks! Theres also a Costco liquor store right outside. The downside is that a lot of inventory rotates so you might not see the same things in your next visit. You need a membership in order to shop and they scan your membership card at the front door. read more

This rating and review relate specifically to the Hearing Department and the exceptional Hearing Aid Specialist, Jalissa Dileo. My friend recently got hearings aids and recommended I get a hearing test at Costco as it has the best prices and the best customer service. (Other friends have also recommended the value of a Costco membership, especially if you plan to purchase a "big ticket" item, stating it pays for itself in the long run.) Also, a Costco membership is required in order to schedule a hearing test appointment. Once I obtained my membership, it was easy to schedule my appointment within a week. Jalissa is an excellent Hearing Aid Specialist as she takes her time explaining all parts of the test in a calm and reassuring, professional manner. Based on the test, she said I had a moderate hearing loss, and we discussed various options of aids. After I selected the brand I wanted, she provided the necessary paperwork for me to fill out for insurance reimbursement of the hearing aids. Costco does not complete the paperwork associated with Medicare or your insurance company as you are required to do this process yourself. However, I found it quite easy to do this myself with the expert direction provided by Jalissa. Once my aids arrived, Jalissa then patiently explained how to wear them, how to clean them and how to use the app on my iPhone to discreetly adjust the aids in a crowd setting or similar circumstances. Everything was so easy. She then scheduled a follow-up appointment two weeks later to see how I was adjusting to the aids as well as providing me with some additional instructions. Jalissa said she didn't want to overwhelm me all in one day which also was a big help. My follow-up went well and she showed me how to clean the aids and provided a year's supply of filters and rubber tips for the aids. She said if I should need additional supplies of had any concern with the aids, I just need to schedule an appointment with her. All of this is INCLUDED in the price of the hearing aids! No extra charge for the hearing test, any future visits or additional supplies! It's all part of the Costco membership. After this last visit, I called my friend and thanked him for recommending Costco. This was the best investment in a membership I could have made! Although I obtained a membership with Costco for the purchase of hearing aids, I realize I can probably save a lot of money on additional purchases at this location based on the products and prices in this store. I visited a local Costco to determine if I should get a membership instead of my current BJ's membership. I wanted to see the quality of a particularly expensive product as well as a few other products. I asked an employee at the door if I could look around for a few minutes and was denied. Made my decision pretty easy - I'll spend my money elsewhere. I've never heard of anything more ridiculous. Funny that "AI" shows Costco with a "high" rating, but the rating is 3.3 stars. This was our first and last (hopefully) trip to this particular Costco. We will drive the extra 20 minutes to the Clermont Costco the rare times we even want to travel to a Costco. We literally stopped in here for one thing and one thing only, a request by a family member to pick up a couple of trays of their pinwheel sandwiches for a football game. Since we were passing through Orlando we "volunteered" to do so. Our mistake, apparently. This Costco was a nightmare when it came to just entering the lot and then parking, having to park literally in the furthest away stretch of parking stalls. This was a prelude to what was in store for us upon entering the building - so packed with people we felt like human sardines. OMG, it was CRAZY packed! I could have used a Xanax for this, what was supposed to be a quick in and out, trip. Those pinwheel sandwiches we came in for? They were $7 PER POUND! That came out to roughly x12 pinwheels for $15. WTF?! What a joke. As for a selection, such as roast beef, chicken or whatever... no such thing. Chicken or nothing, so chicken it was. The check out lines were backed up 10 customers deep and of course every cart was filled to the gills. We opted to wait in the self checkout line, but when it was our turn I had to call over the gatekeeper because there was not a scanner gun at the register (I would have had to flip the plastic sandwich clam shell upside down to scan the dang thing, F'ing up the sandwiches [remember, they were pinwheels]). The employee came off grumpy too (I suppose I can't blame her with the madhouse the place was). To make a long short - this place was a zoo and I personally never want to go back (to this store). I have had a membership for a few months and I already regret my membership. The store is disorganized and I spend way too much time tying to locate the items I want to purchase. Costco believes having customers wander around the store looking for items is a way to sell more. It's not. I probably would shop there weekly were it not for how disorganized the store is Costco is not th adventure they think it is. Adding to this I have had 2 consecutive bad experiences with their food court. They assign numbers and make someone who is just purchasing a drink wait while a pizza is cooked. Most inefficient process I have ever see. And of course the lines are always long. I won't be renewing my membership that's for sure. read more

You can be sure that anything you purchase here is of great quality at a great price. Of course, everything is in bulk so it's best if you have a family. There are many must haves (too many to list and better to just google those). They always have seasonal items and the discounts are just the cherry on top. If you need help there are always crew members roaming the store. As many reviews have already suggested there is NO scan and go like Sams so don't complain. The lines are most likely super long even on weekdays. So you can definitely expect a long wait time to check out. However, most cashiers are super fast (only to be beat by Aldi cashiers). read more

This Costco is pretty good and is on the newer side. Time flies so it could be 10 years old for all I know, but it feels newer. The location is terrible in the Millenia area of town not too far from the Mall and if you've ever been, you know that area can get congested. And I never parked close EVER at this one. Some people do as there are cars near the door, but they might just not move their cars since they got such an excellent spot. This one has a liquor store (separate entrance) which is always a good thing. My regular Costco does not so I venture out to check on the other ones in the area to look for a good deal. Nothing against this Costco, but why don't they build them all the same? So annoying when you're at a different one and things are just located in different places than what you're used to. Just an observation... Costco is what Costco is and this one fits the bill and has Gas, Liquor, Food Court, Pharmacy, and Free Samples. Bring a cooler if you're buying frozen or cold stuff as you never know how long it will take you to get home. read more

I've been shopping at warehouse clubs for decades, & appreciate all they have to offer. I've only recently been a Costco member, having just recently renewed my annual membership here for the first time. I waited to renew because I wasn't sure I wanted or needed a 2nd membership, but I did miss some of the products they offer, so I caved & renewed my "executive" membership. A few things I like are their variety & quality of products, & frequent introduction of new & seasonal items. I love their sales & their gas prices that are usually unmatched anywhere close by. I have the Costco Visa card also, so I do appreciate the cash back feature. Unfortunately there are many more items that I'm less pleased with. Their annual cost is higher than competitors, with less benefits to members, so this is the reason I questioned renewing. I've come to really enjoy many features that my other club offers that Costco doesn't, so I go into it knowing that I will likely only use this membership a few times during the year. A few things to note, the club is CRAZY busy and difficult to navigate on weekends & certain other times - usually when I'm there. If I can't go early in the morning when they open, I try not to go. And the gas station is tough too, it's hard to find a time it's not busy - but again, the gas prices are good, warranting a delay. Their location is a challenge to begin with, it's SUCH a congested area, I really have to be in need to muster up the desire to head out that way. Also, I wish they would post in-store prices on their app/website - they list prices for shipped items, or no prices at all. I like to be organized & have a list together before I head out the door for a more quick (usually not there), efficient trip, but not having all the facts makes this difficult. Also, other clubs offer free shipping for upgraded memberships, free curbside pickup, and self checkout through an app when shopping in-store. The checkout lines are insane here, so this would be a really fantastic option to have! Finally, after deciding to renew my membership, and patiently wading through the massive crowds of a Sunday afternoon (I expected it so I made sure I had plenty of time), I was very surprised to see the amount of increase to the costs of their products. I realize the cost of everything has increased, but it just seemed excessive to me here. I don't know if I'm not keeping up with things or if they're taking advantage of the times, but it's definitely a bit much. Anyway, I have a new membership so I'll see how the year goes. We have Costco in NC but I had only been once years ago. Visiting this Costco gave me an idea of what the store is all about. Overall this location was very organized and there were employees walking around constantly cleaning which was appreciated. The location was extremely crowded which made me weary upon arrival but it worked out. This Costco also has a liquor store attached to it. This location is always busy and the parking lot is a bit chaotic, but it definitely has a ton to offer, especially if you have little ones! We decided to sign-up for a membership recently due to the need for snacks for the little ones school lunches, as well as, for home - paper products, cleaning products, bulk diapers and wipes, etc. They have a huge layout but it's pretty easy to navigate. I do wish that they had better signage for what's within each different aisle, but it's not a huge deal. The groceries are mostly to the right side of the building, while electronics, clothing, and other products are mostly to the left side. I do enjoy looking around at all the new items they offer in the mostly mid-section, especially the toys and books that have great pricing. Our biggest downer here is that they sometimes try to use a 'generic' member card at checkout which is annoying as we have the premier membership and get 6% back on purchases and need our own card scanned instead of a generic. Overall: A Solid bulk shopping with different items each time. You may wish to download the app so you can be in the 'loop' on what's a great deal that week. read more

The parking lot is great is next to crumble cookies!Also it's so crowded lol,OK So Costco is one of my favorite places on earth I managed to grab some hot rotisserie chicken just out of the oven and they sell them fastbhwre so grab them as soon as you can! We got some pre-made mac and cheese from deli are near the chicken to take home and bake and it's was delicious! The blueberry muffins were a great price and I love all.of the variety!The electronics there are a great price I saw so many people buying TVs there! My wife and I absolutely love coming to costco, however I'm not sure if my wallet does! I love wandering around the store and seeing what new seasonal items are in stock and what items are on sale. Is Costco is a fairly large Costco and does have a gas station which is very nice since it is usually cheaper than any other gas station around. Fortunately the parking is not the easiest as Costco is always packed the parking lot is oddly shaped. It does have a fairly large liquor store attached to it as well. I really enjoy going to Costco in the middle of the day to try to fight the crowds as much as possible and eating lunch there. The cafeteria is open currently and the pizza is always phenomenal! On our most recent trip we picked up a few holiday gifts including couple wine Advent calendars for ourselves and family. These Advent calendars are great gifts and are so fun to open each night to see which type of wine is next on our list to drink. Unfortunately the beer Advent calendar was not in stock when we came, however we were able to pick up a couple different wine ones and are excited to start in a few days. read more

Whenever I checkout at COSTCO, I look for Joey Bringle behind the cash register. He's the most likable guy you'll ever see working in a store. He has all the professional duties covered in spades, such as efficiency, customer service, etc., but beyond those duties, he's always cheerful, funny, and has a spirit about him that's contagious. I love, love, love Costco! Even if I go there for one thing I have to grab a cart, because I ultimately find a dozen other things I didn't need, but am determined to purchase. The membership is worth the money you save on automotive, paper products, fruits, meats, veggies, books and toys, furnature, jewelry, electronics, house wear, wine, clothes, flowers....you get it. I love their pharmacy and photo center too. Passport photos are deliciously cheaper than any place else. I'm addicted. Not unlike any other Costco, its best to get there early and try to avoid the weekends, otherwise you really need to put your patience hat on to look for parking, maneuver around the aisles without having a collision, and to wait in the long checkout lines. To their defense, they move people through the line pretty efficiently. Don't forget to grab a slice, or a hot dog before you leave. You can get a good lunch for cheap. read more

Costco, in general, had really gone downhill. Their products are slowing degenerating, and their produce it bitter and like plastic. Their baked goods are cheaply made of low-quality ingredients. Keeping in mind that Costco's CEO received a total compensation package worth $12.2 million in 2024, last time I went to the Orlando Costco, I had to change out several vine tomato's because so many had gone bad. When I checked out, the cashier counted my tomato's and told me I had 13 tomatoes, and we could only have 12. This sounds like sometime right out of a Charles Dickens novel. read more

The store is packed on Friday afternoon and I don't even mind that because it's the only one near me. However, when checking out at the self service it's hard to use big items when there is no hand held scanner and the employee standing next to me didn't even help me when I had to scan a paper towel and bathroom tissue. I don't even know why they are there just standing and doesn't even want to help and when I ask someone to help with the muffins she seems annoyed.
