There are no samples, no/limited freshly prepared food or bakery, limited electronics/jewelry, no Kirkland clothing/shoes/books, and no/limited personal care items. On the plus side, there are even more bulk items available that isn't in regular Costco, some items have incredibly good price per unit, bulk flour for example has different grades and brands, the the meat locker is massive and very cold. Furthermore, there are unique appliances and cookware in this location not found elsewhere, like the industrial dough mixers, entire buffet heat tables, bakery racks, etc. The parking situation is also far more tame since there isn't much of a destination feel to this location. They do have a food court though. It was overall an interesting experience, I have noted some bulk items to be extremely well priced here, but while Costco is a once every 2-4 week visit, this would be a once a 6-12 months visit for a non-business owner. Every Costco-er should check it out at least once!

I got there 10 minutes early and only 1 person was working! I made the appointment at my lunch time because it's only 4 minutes away. I thought as it was lunch time they would have more staff to help customers. NOPE! Only 1 staff member working. I waited for 25 minutes and I had to leave as my lunch is only a half hour and I had already left 10 minutes early to make sure that I was there on time!! What a joke. I waited so long and never got any help in the 25 minutes I was there. I recommend having at least 2 people to staff the phone kiosk as people work for a living and some have to come on their lunch. I'm so sorry that I bought a phone from Costco. I had a horrible experience!

It's cramped, but it's filled with kitchen and house ware gadgets. Prices are pretty good. They have wooden skewers that are 2 packs for $1. Why I'm writing this review though, is because I need to tell my amazing plunger story. I bought a plunger. My toilet's been clogged for two days, and my old plunger caved in on me (literally caved in). Upon trying out the plunger from here ($5 plus tax), my toilet immediately unclogged. It took me one flush to get it unclogged. That has never happened to me before! Such a wonderful $5 find.

Normally a great store and have spent literally thousands at this location but trying to get 20…read moresomething dollars back for some fuzzy fruit that I bought only a few days ago (in good condition) was one problem I did not expect for this good company. The next till staff saying out loud for me to chill out was reason the reason I am sending this poor customer experience in. The other main reasons are selling fruit that went bad in the fridge and in the heavily air conditioned dark home. Costco wanted the fruit back or pictures which I partly understand but after all this fruit when fuzzy 2 days after purchase ? A cantaloupe a carton of strawberries (less ripe of what was on display and black berries. Sure I was disappointed in this trifecta of rot but my partner disposed of the fuzzy stinking mess not thinking pictures where needed. During this exchange I asked to speak to a manager who made it right aka a refund but not before being politely lectured on policy. My Response do not treat rotting food as you do non perishables and look at the customer return record for returned items (virtually nothing) but that is disregarded as a non factor. During the process I said I would get a photo taken as we speak asking my son to open the green bin and shoot what he could see. They said do not bother. But here it is anyway. Just a rude shrug and a flippant comment by the neighbouring teller which was the straw that broke this camels back. Perhaps we shop elsewhere for fruit or everything else. A complete fail on customer service at the overlea location. Let's hope this is a one off and the suppliers get alerted for produce issues. This is not about the few bucks it's totally about the service failures and what the store managers do next.

They sell Mr. Clean magic erasers for $1 each, which is a great deal. I wouldn't buy medical gloves here though. They're a little more expensive than some of the other places I've been. My dad and my great-aunt had a blast here though.

I first discovered Uncle Terry's from the Ex. From their name and branding it gives an impression…read morethat they've been around for a while (give me a bit of Honest Ed's feel, I don't know why) but it's actually been about 2 years and this location near Kensington Market being their newest. When you come in, it does give a slight attic smell, which I don't mind. They told me they usually restock on Thursdays and the other location by Sterling Road usually carries even more inventory. I purchased a shiatsu massager and back up Aukey earphones that were new in package from the Ex. However, the earphones didn't work. The great thing is they are one of the few or probably only liquidators that I know that allows for a 7 day return if there's an issue. Normally most discount liquidators I've been to, it's pretty much the final sale. I wasn't able to visit within 7 days, but did send them an email with the issue with the earphones so they extended the warranty for me to come in within the end of the month to get store credit or exchange, which I'm so grateful for. Apparently they sold hundreds of those earphones and only a few came back with issues. I was able to drop by yesterday after work and decided to exchange for another shiatsu massager for my in-laws. What I appreciate about this spot is that it's relatively organized in shelves with multiple copies of an item. There are bargain bins too for $5 if you really want to search for any deals and treasures. I much prefer than other liquidators where usually things are thrown in bins and you don't know exactly what it is until you open it. The staff there was also super patient and friendly. Definitely if you're in the area peek in and see if you score any deals. They will be moving back inventory from the Ex today and the pricing seems to be the same. Though they might offer tax off discounts with cash at the Ex but not at the store.
