I had to try out one of Costco's new food court items: the chicken fingers and sauce, and I have to admit that I wasn't expecting them to be as good as they were! As usual for Costco, the value is insane as you get 5 massive chicken fingers for $6.99 and it comes with a big cup of sauce, but pictures don't really do them justice because these were pretty thick pieces of chicken. They were seasoned and cooked perfectly, and the sauce was perfectly portioned, it is the exact amount of sauce needed, and it is excellent and tangy. This is going to be a dangerous item for me, because not only am I going to get them again and again, but I might be getting them instead of Raising Cane's, which is insane to me. I also got a cookie, which honestly was good but cooked a little too much for my taste, as it was too crisp and almost burnt, and I prefer mine a little softer. But a nice addition is they added call in number for ordering whole pizzas ahead of time for pickup! read more

Dear Costco Management, I would like to share a disappointing experience I had on May 22, 2026, around 3:30 PM at the Sparks Costco location. I met my wife near the gas station area to transfer our children between cars so they could attend a party. While moving a car seat and helping our three young children (ages 5, 10, and 14), I briefly parked in an area that had clear parking lines across my other vehicle. Within seconds, a gentleman approached me and asked me to move the vehicle because it was blocking traffic. Since I was carrying a car seat and assisting the children, I immediately apologized and explained that I had not noticed it was no-parking (it didn't say anywhere). What disappointed me was the response I received. The employee called me a "smart-ass" in front of my children that I can't see the faded lines (see attached pictured how faded are they). I found this especially upsetting because: I was cooperative and apologetic from the beginning. No Costco employee should speak to a customer in that manner, particularly in front of young children. My wife and I work hard to model respectful behavior for our kids, and I later had to explain inappropriate language to my 5-year-old because of this interaction. I want to emphasize that this complaint comes from a place of disappointment, not anger. My family and I genuinely enjoy shopping at Costco, and we visit this location multiple times a week. We have consistently had positive experiences with Costco employees, which is why this interaction stood out so strongly. I understand that employees may need to address parking or safety concerns, and I would have completely understood a polite request to move the vehicle. However, the tone and language used were unnecessary and unprofessional. I hope Costco will take this feedback seriously, take concrete actions on this employee and train employees to communicate respectfully with customers, especially when children are present. read more

I do not usually come here as they typically carry the EXACT same stuff as the Reno location. Whereas the Carson City location not only has different products, but also different sales. Quality/Quantity - Last update was so fun and exciting. Today, not as much. It was not bad; but again, the last visit was so positive! Did not buy anything except gas on this trip (see Costco gas 2 star review). Ambiance - Consistent. Service - Self service. Price - Reasonable, but the previous visit was inexpensive as we grabbed some great clearance deals. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success at this location since 2006. We always enjoy coming to this Costco. Parking is really hectic when it's busy though and people can be ruthless. Even with how busy they are, employees are always so nice! The store is well kept and clean. Things are overall easy to find but they do move products around occasionally. The food court is also hectic when it's busy. They've come up with a system where you stand in line after you order your food rather than them calling numbers and everyone crowding the counter. Loved the cheese Pizza and it was huge! I love coming to the Costco. It's clean, the employees are kind, it isn't as crowded and overwhelming as the Reno Costco and the parking lot always has empty spots by the front of the store. This Costco has the most friendly staff. Adequate checkout lanes are available to keep the li es moving. Some prices may vary (more or less) than others Costco stores. It is worth shopping here because the store is generally less crowded at certain times of the day. Also, the parking lot is usually not crowded since it does not share boundaries with other stores. The produce is great! The clothes are seasonal and sales may be available on older items. I always buy minutes at Costco! read more

I have been a Costco member for 18 years; California and Nevada. I've never had a problem, employees are always friendly, and Costco usually has what I need. I usually go to buy gas but now and then I go inside. I was at Optical recently and I am waiting for my new glasses. So thankful my Medicare Advantage insurance is accepted here. I am done with Walmart for my glasses. Costco has never failed me in the past and I am staying with Costco's Optical. They are very good at their jobs and that made my day. read more

Customer service is not good at all. So complicated when they make a mistake. I ordered two slices of pepperoni pizza a cookie and a brownie sundae. They charged a chicken bake and a pepperoni pizza, voided the chicken bake and charged another chicken bake. I didn't realize what they had done, until getting to the counter. When I explained it to the lady, she said I had to go to the customer service counter and get a credit and then buy another pizza from the kiosk. I had all my other groceries with me. Anyone who goes to Costco knows the customer service line is fairly long for returns. I didn't have time to wait in the line for the refund and then go to the kiosk and order again. Its still great! It s funny to me when people say they don't like it because it's busy. That just means the products are popular, and continually rotated though so they are fresh. I found a special additive-free tequila recently! It is a single barrel reposado made just for Nevada Costco members. I purchased 2 and took them to a family dinner. It was a hit and I had to go back to get more for my home bar. Keep checking in for seasonal products and deals. You never know what you will find! read more

I was out in Spanish Springs today and I needed some things from Costco. I only live about a mile from the Reno location, but I had never stopped to shop at the Galleria location. It's large, clean and filled with helpful employees with a sense of humor. I asked the stocker if the eggs were going to locked up in a display case like the high-end booze at the Reno location. He laughed. Eggs are limited in this location to only 3 containers per person, but they sell out of stock as soon as they are put out. As I was leaving while checking out in the self checkout with my Costco app with my Costco credit card, the register has a nice female voice directing my sale... I asked the clerk watching out over the self checkout that if iPhone's have Ms Siri and androids have Ms Alexa... did the female voice in the self checkout have a name? She said not yet. Perhaps Costco will have a contest to name her one day. The bathroom was clean but only had the paper towels, while the Reno location has both the heated air hand dryer and the paper towels. read more

Costco Sparks is genuinely one of the better warehouse locations I've visited. The store is clean, well-organized, and usually stocked with everything from fresh produce to electronics. The employees are friendly and efficient, even when the place gets busy--which it often does. The checkout lines move surprisingly fast, and the self-checkout area helps keep things flowing. Prices are, as always with Costco, great for bulk buys, and the quality of their products--especially in the bakery and meat departments--makes the membership worth it. Tuesday morning I had a problem with my card used from the app the girls at the return counter called for a manager, he never came over to clear the register another lady came over Rose, I think she didn't say hi kiss my ### or anything cleared the register and walked away. The girls at the return counter didn't seem to have anything good to say about the male manager who never showed up, seems he's a rude guy who doesn't do well with customer service. I have always enjoyed shopping at Costco but now even more! So, one of the things I love about my local Costco is finding their discounted items! They always have great discounts on clothes! However, what really shocked me most recently was their optical dept! I had gone to see another optometrist. I went through the glasses display and never found anything that I really like but I desperately needed glass! My dog chewed mine up! Anyway, I decided on a pair and after my insurance coverage I was still given a quote of $464 for a pair of glasses. I then asked for a copy of my prescription and took it to Costco. I found three pair of glasses their and two were name brand! My total was $317 for all three pair! I was floored! I also got my glasses sooner then I would have through the optometrist! I've never considered writing a review for Costco. I've been a business executive member for years and have found this location easy to park, shop, etc. The gas station can be a bit of a hot mess during the day but the inconveniences were always pretty minor. This review is specifically regarding their new carding policy at self checkout and the way it's being handled by employees. People were pretty disgruntled when Costco added self-checkout. I don't think people like feeling like they have a second job when they're paying a lot of money for groceries. I found it be convenient because as a single person, I might run in to Costco to pick up something specific rather than a cart full of groceries and I don't want to stand in a line behind someone shopping for their restaurant or convenience store to check out. I found myself on an appointment in Sparks this past week and decided to run in to Costco after because I needed milk. That's it. I was on a mission, so I did not grab a cart. I knew I could comfortably carry my box of 3 half gallon milk cartons without an issue. I travel light these days, so I have my Costco app set up and leave my physical card at home. I showed it at the door and made my way to the refrigerated section. Problem is, it's easy to get distracted at Costco. I saw a box of 90 second Cilantro Lime rice at the end of the aisle and decided that should come home with me. Then as I got closer to the milk I saw the Suja immunity shots - and I've been sick twice in the past 3 weeks so I obviously felt I could benefit from having those available. Then I made it to the milk. So I've got my hands full... then spot new frozen PB+Js with STRAWBERRY JELLY?! My weakness. So I stacked the rice, pbj and immunity shots in my left hand and held my 3 pack of milk in my right. It was sketchy. Before I got to the front the immunity shots slid off the top and busted open when they hit the floor. I stack it all back up but it's even more precarious with an open box of like, 10 tiny bottles. I finally make it to self checkout and spot an open check out (sweet relief) so I start to make my way over to it when I am stopped by an employee asking to check my card. I clearly have no free hands to pull out a card. As I continued walking I ask, "Can I set this stuff down first?" He meets me at the register and then says to me - "Next time I can just hold your stuff so you can get your card out." Bffr right now - did he not just see me struggling? Does he think that would have saved anyone time or it just would have saved him a couple of steps?? Anyway, I pull out my phone, show my card and kindly let him know that his solution would not have been reasonable given the amount of stuff I was carrying. He walked away. Now I ring up my stuff and as I get my card out to pay I'm looking around for a box because I wasn't about to struggle all the way to my car with 4 loose items. At the Reno location there are usually boxes stacked in between the self checkout registers. I see a different employees standing close by ready to help people scan big items, etc and ask if there are boxes available. He points to 2 different spots, a big rolling cart filled with boxes about 50' in front of the registers my the front office door or 50' to the right on some unused check out lanes. So I had to leave my stuff unattended to find a box, leaving the check out lane unavailable for anyone else to use in the mean time. As a long time member I just found this to be annoying and can't see how anyone in Costco management would find this efficient at all. I really don't have a problem with them checking cards but verify at the door. Maybe you need some retired nightclub bouncers up there so people know you mean business after decades of being so lax about it. read more

They care about encouraging awful behavior and allow their management as well as employees to be nasty and disrespectful to their customers!! To have a manager screaming so irate that she's literally spitting in your face while trying to rip the receipt out of your hand is a bit overboard for someone who isn't stealing or breaking anything!!! This woman is the nastiest human being and I use that term lightly, I have ever had the unfortunate opportunity to encounter! Don't sleep on the Costco clothing, especially their workout clothes are often phenomenal and a great price. One thing about customer service that so many people are lacking in is they don't UNDERSTAND what customer service means. When I ask someone for help pointing in a general a of the store is absolutely useful to me. Costco does have a huge selection of just about everything you could want from tires to flowers to food to animal beds so that aspect they're good but like I said the lack of actual customer service drives me insane because that stores way too big to not have an employee actually escort you over to where you need to go because obviously you can't find it or you wouldn't be asking for it. On the plus side you cannot be there hot dog deal not only is the hot dog totally yummy but you get a hot dog and a soda for $1.50 yes that's correct $1.50 that's absolutely insane. I've heard that the pizza is very good but I personally have not tried it. The only other thing that I want to give people a heads up about is unless you are on them about do not load everything that I purchase into one box to where it's 75 lb that's what they're going to do. read more

The Draw for Costco for us is always the $5.00 roast chicken, the free food samples, and the hotdog and drink combo. The $5.00 roast chickens that are 2 x the size of Safeway or Raley's. Then you have the $1.50 Hotdog/soda combo that includes an extra long/large hotdog, with a steamed bun, and a 20oz refillable drink. The condiment bar has Catsup, mustard, deli-mustard, chopped onions and pickle relish. We also get the ex-large pizzas for $10.00 approximately 1-2 times a month. The kids also enjoy the frozen yogurt with berries which is $1.60 I think. When we are not in a hurry, we buy a bowl of chili, along with hotdogs, and sit down and make some chili dogs (not at this Costco). There are quite a few other items in the food court that are delicious. The chicken Caesar salad, churros, pizza by the slice, hot turkey provolone sandwich, brisket, mocha lattes... at great prices. We also like the gift cards that are available. You can usually get $100 value for $50-$80. This allows us to try new places at a discount. Today we bought 4 of the $25 gift cards from The Brewer's Cabinet for $69.00 (look forward to a review soon). Cards from I-Fly to Sushi Pier, Theater tickets to PF Chang. I can't end this review without talking about the meats. When we can afford some quality steak, we always go with the New York steaks here. We have never been disappointed in the quality. We look for sales on Lamb, hamburger, salmon and seafood. We love the quality of the meat department, but with a budget, often we have to forgo these luxuries. It is true you get what you pay for! Below are some tips to help your shopping experience. Tip 1: not all Costco's are the same. Seems that each Costco can carry different Items. For example, I usually get chicken, beef and vegetable "Better than Bullion" and usually the pyramid has only the chicken. Tip 2: though they often have great prices, just because its bulk, doesn't make it a better price than your local supermarket. An example today was the Arrowhead water $8.00 for 40 bottles and at Smiths, it was 24 bottles for $3.99. The Costco water is around 3.5¢ higher per bottle. It is definitely convenient to grab huge packages of stuff, but it doesn't always mean it's cheaper. Tip 3: Food samples. My kids absolutely loved this. I had to go to both Cosco's today, and neither of them had samples. Covid has reduced the fun. If they ever start again, There is no set pattern for going and getting to taste those awesome free samples. I asked the manager, and he said food samples are dependent on if they have vendors that want to provide them, workers to work the carts, and there are enough people shopping. read more

Between the two, this is is my favorite Costco to do my shopping at. The parking lot is easily accessible, the gas line is never too long, and the employees are all so friendly. The store is laid out well and it's easy to find what you're looking for. It is always organized and clean. Their clothing area is never overcrowded or full of mountains of clothing as the staff are very attentive to keeping it neat. The food court can get a bit busy and backed up, but it's never too big an issue. I'm always in the mood for a hotdog or slice of pizza - you just can't beat the price for a quick bite to eat! read more
