This was a pretty nice GO in the heart of Reno. We came to grab some breakfast and snacks before hitting the road again. The store is nicely organized and logically laid out. The building looks older, but it's been kept up and well maintained. It's in a strip mall plaza on Kietzke which is a main thoroughfare in Reno. We got some goat milk, some snacks, and contemplated getting a couple little quarts of ice cream for the road, but we thought they'd melt before we could get to them so we had to pass on those. All in all, the store has a big produce section, tons of pantry staples, respectable sized meat and dairy sections, and the staff were friendly and the guy who helped us check out was quick and helpful. We'll plan to be back next time we're in town. read more

Went to this Reno store, and could not find one thing on my shopping list: Naked Juice 64oz Amy's Split Pea Soup Starbucks Coffee 5lb bags California Kitchens BBQ Pizza By the way, this is a surplus outlet grocery store, they purchase discontinued items from other stores. There are two pricing models for the stores: Walmart and Winco. This store is priced on the Walmart model, where as the Sparks and Lemmon Valley stores are based on the Winco model. This is the first stop in grocery shopping, followed by Trader Joes, and then Walmart. Sometimes Smiths has better pricing. read more

I dropped by Grocery Outlet's Kietzke Lane location to pick up some drinks. Aside from the 20oz. Arizona Green Tea on sale for just 99cents, they also now have a 6-pack of Milkis for just $4.99- it comes in banana, green apple and grape flavor. I also picked up a couple packs of individually wrapped cakes (an "Ugly" cake pack and "Egg Tart) cake pack; $3.99 per pack of 6. I was kind of tickled to find they carry BTS brand coffee. Anyhow, this store has a bunch more Asian-inspired items like different varieties of Korean ramen and frozen dumplings which is kind of cool. read more

Quality/Quantity - Was in the neighborhood and had time to kill. So I came to check this out. Grocery Outlets used to be my place to buy international wines, but now as I am a member of so many wineries, I just can't drink that much that fast. Atmosphere - One of the better run Grocery Outlets, see pictures. Decent size beer and wine selections. The place still looks new. Plenty of mall parking. Service - N/A. Price - N/A. This was my first time visiting a Grocery Outlet. It isn't bad for a budget grocery store. There was a decent selection of items, and quite a large frozen food section. I was in the neighborhood so I stopped in to pickup some items for a beach day at the lake. I was able to find what I was looking for very easily. The liquor selection was not bad for a budget store. Surprisingly, there is a Frey Ranch SIB bourbon bottled just for Grocery Outlet, still priced at $89. read more

I live in Carson City and usually shop at the Outlet there for some things. I was in Reno and stopped in at Reno location. Shopping center is sketchy, lots of homeless people hanging around. Outside the store in front is littered with cigarette butts and just filthy. They need to power wash it big time, just gross. They have some good things inside the store and the people that work there are very nice. Check out the same store in Lake Tahoe and you will be shocked at the difference in quality and selection. read more

I usually love coming to shop here. Today I was shopping for a steak dinner with my girlfriend and an older white woman around her 50s or 60s working there waited for us to check out and then came up and started harassing us. She began accusing us of stealing alcohol, saying "someone saw us walk down the aisle with a tiny pink Whitney bottle??" I immediately asked her to show us the cameras because we would truly love to see us doing so. She refused. She wouldn't leave us alone saying "where is it? It's illegal and I saw you" What?? What is wrong with people? Truly. If I wanted to steal, you truly think i'm going to steal a tiny bottle of Pink Whitney? I'm not a thief. I was offended. I felt like me and my girlfriend were being humiliated when we were just trying to enjoy our night on our day off together. I offered for her to pat us down, she wouldn't. I didn't even have pockets. My purse was barely big enough to fit my wallet. By the end it was obvious that she realized she was wrong but still continued to harass us about it and wouldn't admit to her fault. Everyone was looking and confused. It was all around just unnecessary, odd, embarrassing and so disrespectful. Never in my life have a dealt with this kind of thing before. Not sure i'll be coming back here but I truly wish for this woman to be a less miserable person. P.S I was wearing a white dress. My girlfriend was wearing a maroon shirt. This was on June 29th around 5pm. Please, someone go check these cameras and send me this video of me supposedly stealing that alcohol. I would love to see. Yes 5 stars because I was happily surprised at the quality, prices and selections/brands of items I was looking for. I'm talking with regional brands not usually found in this area. First off, its a grocery and sundry/drug store, trying to say they have a little of a lot of everything. From garden, house, stationary, gifts and party things. I love to search for different names, styles and locales for beers/ciders/liquors/coffee/local gifts and I found it here. Like how they show the original price and the actual discounted price you pay. I'm gushing mainly because of the varied and specialty beer selections, even those super special, rare, award winning bottles. I feel I discovered a treasure trove that intrigued my quest for new tastes, styles and brands of special drinks. read more

I hadn't been to this store since the lockdown started. Before then, our visits were meh... We went there for the bargain wines. Our friends just told us that the ownership has changed, and it's much nicer, so we went. Yes, the store's cleaner and better organized. Price is still really good, the wine selection is excellent. So we were pretty happy until we got to the checkout. It's nice that they opened up an extra checkout because there was a long line, but the checkout lady kept removing her mask. Even when it's on, it's under her nose. Why is it so hard to keep that thing on properly on your face while you work? Normally I leave a bad rating for a poor COVID safety practice, but she seems to be the only one who was less compliant, and as everyone said, they are working really hard, so 4 stars for now! read more

We love this grocery outlet. Such great deals, quality food and household options. The reason I keep going back is the customer service. Outstanding! My partner and I are on a budget and we went in on a Friday evening and got taken care of by management and the staff. It was the Super Bowl weekend deal of $15 off $75 or more. I forgot to have them scan my ticket which was my fault. Management- Aimee, Lily and cashier Kimberley (our favorite cashier ;)) helped us figure out together how to apply it. They patiently worked with us to return the items (I know, I was THAT customer) and re-scan so we could apply the coupon. Any amount helps us and they understood completely. Thank you Aimee, Lily and Kimberley and the Reno Grocery Outlet team! We appreciate you all for treating us like humans and being so kind to us always. I found the perfect way to kill time while the man of the house spends his time in Harbor Freight! I'm not sure why, but I just get amused with the different items and brands they carry.. plus I got my boy dog a cool toy! I was so thrilled to see that Reno had 3 of these stores here! It's a great place to stock up on canned goods and bubble water. I also have purchased a large umbrella and cute clothes as well. Today I spent a lot stocking up on all sorts of household items. I found a nice sturdy set of storage containers and some great yoga pants. One thing to always remember is to check the expiration dates on everything! Most things don't expire for about a month. I purchased a full patio size umbrella last summer and it was excellent, it even had those solar lights inside of the spikes! I'm really thrilled that Reno has such wonderful discounts stores; and I definitely use them regularly. read more

Okay, why has it taken me so long to actually give GO a second try. My parents shop at the one in South Lake Tahoe on a regular basis and my dad keeps telling me to check out the one in Reno, but I always assure him I like my usual stores (Smith's, Winco, TJ's, and Costco) and why go anywhere else. I was actually on the hunt for Special K cereal (Fruit N Yogurt) because it's so expensive everywhere else and I wasn't even sure if they would carry it, but I was curious and had to find out what they had. The first time I went into this Grocery Outlet was about 3 years ago on a whim after leaving Harbor Freight. I browsed the aisles quickly and never went back. Finally, my second time here was a HUGE success. Walking in was interesting, it was clean and I took it slow since I had time to kill. I started down the toiletries aisle and WOW -- all my shampoos, dry shampoos, face wash brands, moisturizers, and other items were here for extremely cheap and way less expensive than what I normally pay for them at other stores. I had to stock up on Bastille and Dove dry shampoo- what, $1.99 and $2.99?! I turned the corner and found the carbonated beverages such as Bai bubbles (2 for $1) and Perrier (green apple and lime -- 6 bottles for $3). I was blown away by these prices and nothing was wrong with the items at all, who cares about expiration dates on these products?! Expiration was 2018 anyways. Then came the cereal, was it meant to be?! Tons of boxes piled high of Special K Red Berries, Fruit N Yogurt, and Protein Special K for $2.50 a box. I couldn't believe it. They also had Kashi (my all time favorite) and Nature Valley cereals. Of course these cereals won't last long and they probably get different ones in all the time, but hey, it was just what I was looking for. Dates on the boxes were fine, what is the deal, where did these come from? Are these cereals not selling at other stores, frankly, I didn't care. Next I stumbled upon their organic section, I couldn't comprehend everything! We're talkin' Annie's products: cookies, graham bunnies, cereals, chips, mac n cheese, all kinds of things that are crazy expensive at Smith's unless you have coupons. A few steps further...my favorite flavors of Clif bars! 12 for $6.99! I have been paying $1 or more per Cliff bar pretty much on a daily basis - to think of all the money I could have saved on Clif bars had I known or had the courage to check out Grocery Outlet years ago. I hit the jackpot this time and will definitely be making this a frequent stop at least once a month. Other fabulous items I noticed were name brand ice creams, yogurts, coffee creamers. Pints of Ben and Jerry's and SoDelicious for a couple bucks, so cool. This is a must go to store if you're on a budget, like myself. read more

It is an OUTLET for GROCERIES, so I never have high expectations when visiting one of these. They get the surplus from other grocery stores with close expiration dates, so that's how they're able to price their products so low. They get new products every week or so, so I do visit almost weekly to check out the inventory. I'm a sucker for sales and deals... and if you didn't know, most "expiration" dates on products can last much longer than printed (especially frozen & pantry items)-- I love to browse the snack, cereal, and ice cream aisles! Parking is easy since they have a huuuuge lot (shared with the neighbor stores), but there may be some homeless people roaming around.... I've never had a problem with them, but I can see how this can deter some people from visiting this store. They are now allowing reusable bags again, but ask that you keep them in your cart/basket and bag your items yourself at checkout. Went in this morning to get milk, but I normally check the whole store to see if they have something good on sale. Was looking in freezer aisle and saw beyond meat sausages and thought cool, great price, what is expiration date though? they expired in July !!! No wonder they are on sale. Not too much of a surprise sadly, they had chicken stock that was 60 days expired on the shelf until recently. Went to get my milk, we like the Humboldt they sell, which is the main reason I come in. Once again, oops, they do not have the milk in gallons, only half gallons at much higher price. Great. A supermarket that is too incompetent to keep milk in stock. I went in on August 5th and every gallon jug on the shelf had expired on August 1st, so this is pretty normal for this Grocery Outlet. I got spoiled by the one over on the other side of Lake Tahoe in Placerville, they were well managed, it was a great store. I wonder why this location is so bad. Is it just terrible owners? Another Grocery Outlet with fantastic bargains. If you can deal with a expiration date that is soon, a best buy date that is soon, you can really find some good bargains. Many items like cleaning supplies do not expire and are still marked down. They often have lunch meat that is close to expiring, I take it and individually put servings in zip lock bags, and they stay for awhile. You can get these items sometimes for pennies on the dollar. They have bread, dairy vegetables, canned goods, frozen foods, medicine (aspirin), tooth brushes, toothpaste, make up, nuts, coffee, snacks, and liquor. If you are looking to stretch your dollar further, give them a try. read more

Was here Saturday night and Saw a deal on Tylenol. Price said 4.49 when I was paying it came up 7.99. I told the girl at the cash register that's not the price over there. She sent someone to check and he came back and said 4:49. I believe the managers name was AMANDA she went and checked and came back and said 799 what a liar. Another store close to home and easy to use when in a hurry. Now I'm not sure I trust every product they carry. They buy large overstocked items from other stores to sell in their own stores. So you need to watch the expiration dates very closely. The store is no fancy Raley's, but not quite a warehouse style market either. If this is a problem for anyone be sure to check the dates. I have found the frozen food to not have this problem, nor do the dairy products. Good prices and decent selection. This is the most expensive G.O. I have been to. I have been shopping at G.O. for over 2 decades and have been to more than 20 of their stores throughout the West Coast including in Idaho. This store has higher prices than Walmart. It is a dirty store in the low end of Reno. The prices are not even comparable with the area they are located it. Very high prices. I saw the male and female owners harass, scream, cuss, and videotape a customer today because she said she wanted to return her bad smelling meat. They wouldn't accept it. The woman was obviously upset but more concerned that other do not get sick, she asked that the specific pork and sell by date she bought be pulled from the shelves. Then the female owner lost it, started videotaping and screaming over this woman so other customers couldn't hear her talk about the bad meat. I'm shocked and appalled at the behavior of the staff and owners and will never be going there again. Disgusting human beings. Do not support such hate. read more

Every single time I come into this store there are 20 people standing in line and only one cashier. I come in Sunday at 5:30 and grab some frozen foods and a few other random things. I go to check out and the line is literally allllll the way down the first isle. I wander around the store and find some older lady rolling up rugs. I ask her if there is only one cashier for the 25 people up front and she tells me they are short handed. I politely tell her I don't have 20 min to wait in line so I'll be dumping my frozen stuff in the frozen section and will be leaving the store. She proceeds to follow me screaming I'll be 86d from the store if I dump my merchandise. I suppose I could have just walked out with. Instead I left my unwanted items behind because I shouldn't have to stand in line for 20 min on a Sunday. Don't worry I'll drive the 1 min up the street to Walmart for now on. I just love this store! The prices and selection are great, and the store is usually well stocked and clean. Their produce for the most part, is fresh and healthy looking. I like the fact that you can find unique and delicious food items that you will not find anywhere else in our local area. Another great thing is that there are so many healthy foods available for purchase at such low prices. Their wine selection is fantastic. Another plus, is that it is a smaller sized store. This means an easy in and out, making for a less stressful grocery shopping experience. I only wish that they had everything that I need so that I could do all of my shopping there. However, I realize that they are a grocery outlet store, and are not meant to carry everything. read more

Worst one I've ever been in, as far as selection. Yogurt selection has NEVER EVER, been fully faced (employees here, really don't seem to give a blank) and usually 70% empty.
