Delish! My husband and I came here for lunch during the weekend and it was the perfect meal to take and sit outside! Location/Decor 5/5: Loved the location of the store, it was perfectly placed around other shops. Also conveniently located right behind the store was a lawn with tables/chairs and a river! The store itself was super cute and had tons of other products you can buy. Side note, the bathroom is across the way in another complex, quick minute walk. Food 4/5: I ended up getting the Shrimp Po Boy $15.95. The sandwich was huge and a bit messy. I would have preferred a smaller sandwich and it come with a side instead. The sandwich was pretty light, flavor was good and the shrimp was cooked well. Service 5/5: This is definitely a locals place, the person taking our order knew several of the patrons that came through. The service was quick and the person taking our order was very kind! I could eat the Bondi sandwich every day for the rest of my life and never get bored of it. It's stellar.

Honestly very disappointed. Not only we waited long time and it was expensive but the quality of food and flavor was not there. Pasta fagioli very sour no sausage in it, but a lot of zucchini. Chicken Cesar salad is a salad but the chicken looked and tasted like a store bought chicken. Chicken ranch baguette sandwich the same chicken was not a a home made chicken cutlet. And a final insult the cannoli, the filling was a buttery whip cream. I am not sure if I was expecting too much or I am very particular about my food. However I would not go there again and I don't understand why this place has such a great rating. Have to say that the older lady behind the counter was very nice. read more

We went in here a couple of years ago during the pandemic and had an awful experience. Not only were none of the staff wearing masks, but we were mocked by the staff for wearing them ourselves. Went in again fairly recently and the prices were ridiculous for what they offer. The place just isn't worth it. We won't ever try again. read more

We had some very tasty PEI mussels ($14.95/lb!) and decided to splurge on a couple of crab cakes ($10.95 each). Unfortunately, these weren't in the Chesapeake bay style with which I'm familiar; rather than chunks of crab, the interior was a smooth pate'. Based on two visits this summer 21, I'm downgrading Costello's for their breads and low value. I ordered my usual, Pasquale's Favorite and was excited to find out that they baked sourdough baguettes! I searched fresh sourdough for a grilled cheese panini I wanted to make. Both the prosciutto sammie ROLL and the fresh hot sourdough baguette were disappointing. The contents of the sammie were awesome but the crust was too hard and the inside was too sticky and doughy. The sourdough baguette too looked beautiful and fresh. But when I took a bite it was deflating... same doughy heavy inside as the sammie roll. I didn't finish neither breads. I know I'm going on about the breads but i find that it's a critical component of great sandwiches. The prices are higher too which I'll gladly pay if it's worth the value. Pasquales's fave was just under $17 and the baguette was $6. Unfortunately I didn't find the worth this season. Costello's still above average and they have very friendly and prompt service! This season, I was disappointed on both visits. It's a shame, they are no longer crave worthy! read more

Best Sandwiches for Miles (not just in town)! Love this place. Tons of meat options, they have a vegan one if you do the veggie w/o provolone, really good. The store has no COVID policies in place and all of the staff were unmasked. Given the current state of the pandemic, I don't think any food establishment should be serving and preparing food without proper protection. Costello's is IT. The location is a bit off the beaten track for most ambling Vermont wanderers, but PLEASE do yourself a favor and find it. You will be SO happy. The NICEST people and the BEST food. Honestly, this is the kind of food you would get in a Gourmet Empire, but here it is, hidden in a teeny, tiny Vermont town.
