I would not recommend this company. I never even got as far as having John Coston appraise my home when I requested another appraiser. He is rude, abrupt and has no understanding that people work and cannot be available at a moments notice. After such interactions with him I looked up his company and he is being sued for incompetence and fraud. Be careful who's hands you put the value of your home in. read more

John Coston is a great person who has lived in this community forever and has contributed to the real estate knowledge and correct values of Brevard County. His intimate knowledge of the nuances of the different neighborhoods including water depths on the different canals (like The Grand Canal and Indian River) make a huge difference verses a real estate appraiser that may come from out of our area. Simply put John has a great reputation and does a great job for all of his clients. He does appraisals that helps people buy new homes, refinance and find value when loved one's pass. His job is not an easy one because he must always stay objective and keep in perspective the big picture. Not only that but he is licensed by the state and keeping his licensure in-tact, up-to-date and the continuing education is not an easy task. I am in the process of refinancing my house right now and I have to say getting a home loan is an intense process these days. My lender let me know he had ordered the appraisal and a day or so later, the appraiser left me a voicemail to try and schedule a time to come out to my house. He left his name and company name on the VM ( John Coston from Coston Appraisal) so I decided to look them up and the first thing I saw was the bad review left on 08/23/17 by Suzanne. it freaked me out so I immediately called my lender and told him to request someone else. The loan officer told me he had worked with John Coston for years and he had personally hired him as one of his appraisers and there was no way any of that info in the review was true. He went on and on about how Coston had probably done hundreds of appraisals for him. He completely vouched for the appraiser so i went ahead and let him proceed. I thought he was a really nice guy, not rude at all. I walked around the house with him and showed him a thing or two I felt like would help value. I got a copy of my appraisal about a week later and my house appraised for a little bit more than what I was thinking. Overall I was very pleased with the experience and I don't like to see people get bashed online with basically no defense. I would absolutely recommend John Coston to anyone needing his services. read more
