And, of course, it occurred on a Sunday afternoon. Knowing that the company handling my warranty would not be available for at least a few days, I searched out to companies that were available 24/7. Orlando Appliance Repair was one of those companies. Upon calling, the customer service rep put me in touch with their field-rep, Igor. I described the problem and he planned to show withing two hours or less ... on a Sunday afternoon! My refrigerator came back online and I contacted Igor to make him aware and cancel my appointment. He understood and just simply cancelled my appointment without fuss or cost. The repairman who came to our house did not seem to know what he was doing, which required a visit from someone else (who I assumed was his boss). Before our scheduled appointment, my wife had contacted Diaz N Sons and had advised that the cover above the water dispenser was broken and requested that it be addressed at the service visit as well. My wife had sent photographs of the part so that there would be no confusion. When the "boss" arrived, I asked him if he was going to address that as well. He blew it off very quickly, stating, "I wasn't told anything about it." He assured me that the part would be ordered, and since we were "under warranty," it would be installed quickly, and we would only be liable for the part cost. As memory serves, this transpired in April 2026. Between April and July, we contacted Diaz and Sons to get updates and were told two basic responses: 1) The part is on backorder, and we will update you when it arrives, and 2) there has been a family emergency, and we will contact you when we can. Exasperated in July, I took a picture of the model number of the part ($200) and contacted the manufacturer myself. The part arrived within one week and was a simple installation.
