I LOVE COTALING'S. An established full-body, full service Auto Repair shop. Family owned, which means to me, in my experience, that I get a warm friendly family atmosphere and respect, (every time-yikes) I need a car repair. Moving from brightly lit streets on Long Island & NYC to the dark night driving of CT, has cost me some bumps and dings, and other things over the last decade. COTALING'S, is always there for me. They do a lot of work for the people in surrounding neighborhoods, but are never too busy for their customers. From the first visit through the years. It's so true. They are a fabulous family group, it's fun to see everybody working generationally together; grandpa, grandma to sons and daughters, spouses and grandkids, and likely great-grands. Extremely nice staff. In business since 1970. Still founder-family operated. I worked with Joe. They gave a reasonable estimate. Repaired my front bumper to look excellent. (Reattached and buffed) And did some paint retouch on the side rear, also very nicely done. The wash they gave my car was also really good, and from the high shine, maybe they waxed it too. I took my older Subaru Outback to Cotaling's Auto Body shop because it had a couple of deep scratches with rusting. Joe Tatroe did a thorough estimate which turned out to be too high given the age of the car. He then suggested that instead they could do a 'brush touch-up' which would take care of the scratch cosmetically but MOST IMPORTANTLY would eliminate the risk of rusting. I was able to schedule an appointment immediately and they did the job while I waited on-site. The outcome is EXCELLENT and I am beyond pleased with the result. Given that I had to sit there for about 90 minutes I was able to witness first-hand that all customers are treated exceptionally well. I would say that they excel in customer service as well as providing a quality result that fits your budget. I took my new Ford Bronco to Cotalings after a guy drove into the spare tire mounted on my tailgate while sitting in traffic. the dent was hardly noticeable but the tailgate door began to make a horrible noise over every bump. Connor and the team found a high value/low cost solution to the problem that didn't require me to replace the whole tailgate. the car rides like new again. Awesome! read more

My 2021 Toyota CH-R had two scratches on the back left passenger door. I was afraid it wouldn't look the same after the repair will be done. However, this place did an extremely great job at it. It looks like it never happened ! They did an amazing job. They washed my vehicle and returned it super clean. I would have given them a 5 star rating but they left dot paint all over the front passenger seat and a little on the dashboard. I brought the car back and the guy cleaned it nice and neat. He gave me a spray bottle of the product he used to take home too. read more

I've used them in the past. They did reasonably good work and my insurance paid the entire amount. Today I went for a quote that I'd pay out of pocket for because it's not worth going through my insurance company for. I went there and to 3 other places. Their price was higher by more than $300. I'm not saying not to use them, but definitely shop around if price is a concern to you. read more

So after fixing the paint from the dealer and about two years since I got it repainted. The clear coat started to flake just like before. Not only that but the bumper had a different shade of color than the rest of the body. My car is original red but the bumper is a much darker color and it's completely noticeable. read more

Have used Cotaling's several times for auto body and paint work. They are always very professional and transparent, which is a huge differentiator from other auto body shops. Cotaling's did such a great job with auto body work on my Car. I had never used them before and really didn't ever venture out of local Wilton shops when I needed body work but I would highly recommend them! It is a family run business and they really care that you are happy with their work. I was given their name by State Farm Insurance as a preferred company that they work with. I will be using them for any work in the future. There was one small thing that I noticed after a week of having my fixed car back. I called Liz Cotaling and she told me that I should bring it in ASAP for them to look at it as they want it to be perfect for me. I brought the car back and they fixed it perfectly and got me home and back to get it so I wasn't inconvenienced in any way. Peter Cotaling made sure that I was happy. This family cares about the work that they do and that is very rare in present day where many businesses don't see customer service as a priority. I used to live around the corner from Cotaling's and I remember how busy they always are - including Saturdays - and how nice some of the cars are. Fast forward to recently when a tire shop jacked up my car at the wrong spot and bent the rocker panel frame, I needed some help to get that fixed. The owner (Peter) was exceedingly patient when I came by for a quote, worked with me on tracking down parts, and dealt with the tire shop. That whole process took weeks. The work itself was done on one single day. I dropped it off in the morning and picked it up after work. I crawled under the car and looked at the work and it was great. They even remembered I asked them to rubberize spray that part to prevent rust, etc. Anyway, great work. I really hope I never have to visit another auto body shop again, but if I have to, I would definitely go back to Cotaling's. read more
