Took me a while to get around to writing a review, and I am usually not a person to spend the time to. Since David and Pito take so much pride in their work, I knew I had to leave a review for them. David and Pito are the best around. They were highly recommended by people who deal with high-end and custom vehicles. When it came time to do my custom wide-body vehicle, David and Pito put me at ease. They are true car enthusiasts who themselves have an extensive collection of cars. I dropped by and discussed at length my ideas and parts that I had on hand for the vehicle. They listened, and we bounced ideas off each other. I did not feel rushed or misled in the process. Knowing that they deal with collisions/insurance work, which are the bread and butter for most body shops, I gave them an open time frame for Pito to work his magic on the body. Ask around and you will know that David and Pito have extensive knowledge and experience in autobody work. I know it's cliche to say, but they treat me like family there. They make me feel like I'm the only customer they are dealing with, even though you will see they are a busy shop. The other huge aspect of their business that David tackles in spades is communication. They updated me on the process every step of the way, and they are also willing to show me the proper way of tackling the work. Needless to say, I was ecstatic when I saw the final product. It is a showcase of what Unlimited Auto Body & Collision Specialists can do for a custom project, but also for the unfortunate collision. I know they have gotten several custom projects since mine, and each one just as amazing with great attention to detail. So, when I had the unfortunate experience of having my brand new Toyota Tacoma hit by a drunk driver, these guys are the ones I called. Again, David treated me like a childhood friend. He made the insurance claim process extremely smooth. Walked me through how the insurance companies and the processes work. He made all the calls, as well as go on a conference call with me and the other insurance company to verify what had happened. I didn't even have to contact my insurance company. He also fought the insurance company to make sure that the OEM Toyota parts were used. Then on top of that, David set me up with a rental with Toyota of Stamford at the cost of the other person's insurance, and got me what I wanted. Not an econo-box to save them some money. Following a recent accident I contacted Unlimited after reading the shop's highly favorable reviews. The reviews now ring true based on my own experience there. I was able to see David right away. He took considerable time to walk me through every part of the assessment/repair process, including the issues associated with insurers' use of aftermarket (vs. original manufacturer) parts. David made calls on my behalf to the adjuster and rental car company to cut though red tape and expedite getting me back in business. Once the insurance adjuster visited the shop and the car was deemed a total loss, David advised me how to carefully study the insurer's evaluation of market value for its reimbursement offer. I took my car to Unlimited for repairs to my car after I was backed into. David took the time to walk me through every part of the estimate and warned me about how the insurance company would try and get me aftermarket parts instead of paying more for original parts. David made me feel like a knowledgeable consumer so I decided to go ahead with the repairs through him and I am so happy I did. My insurance company did exactly what he said and he negotiated on my behalf to get me the original parts. Not only were the repairs done impeccably, they detailed my car so well that it looked completely new inside and out. After it was done, he took the time to walk through all aspects of the repairs and even went over recalls on my car that I should be aware of. I read great reviews here and decided to get an estimate at Unlimited Auto Body & Collision. David, the manager, was very nice and helpful, explained all details (e.g. using Toyota parts instead of after market parts, which I had not been aware of). He took care of rental car and negotiation with an insurance company. All I had to do is drop the car and pick it up later. They did it as fast as they could, and my car came back like a brand new one -- they had painted minor scratches on my car as well! I had known about the difficulty of pearl white paint, that they have multiple layers, but nobody can tell that it's been painted over! This body shop was recommended by my Volkswagen dealer for their quality of work . So a few months ago I visited the shop to have my wife's car repaired, a 2000 Jetta that had the front end damaged.The sentimental value was worth more than the car after the damage, David Mejia, Manager, was honest and most helpful in giving me an understanding of the tedious dealings with insurance & the DMV to save the car from being a total write off. Regrettably the insurance totaled it. David's helpful service attitude, knowledgeable explanation and understanding of the insurance process assured me that as a customer I was in good hands. I went to Unlimited after an inconvenient encounter with a cement post in a parking garage. Given the amount relatively small amount of damage, I opted to pay for the repairs out-of-pocket. David was very understanding and fair, and worked to complete the repairs as efficiently as possible without cutting any corners. He provided a very reasonable quote and walked me through each line of the price. I opted to have him complete the work while I was on vacation out of the country. When I returned and the car wasn't ready, he paid directly for a rental until my car was ready for pickup the next day. I visited this location due to being rear ended and needed to get an estimate and go through the hassles with the other insurance company. Saw Dave who explained the rights I have being in this situation and offered to take care of everything which included a car rental ready for me within 20 minutes. Dave always kept me in the loop as to what has progressed from talking to the other insurance company, insurance adjusters, when parts were ordered, etc etc.- very thorough When the car was ready a couple of weeks later, it was as if the car was brand new off the showroom. I can't thank David at Unlimited Auto Body enough for being so incredibly helpful with the repair to my car. I experienced a hit and run where my drivers side view mirror was broken off. Feeling super frustrated and defeated that I had to pay $800 for another persons irresponsibility I proceeded to pay for the work that needed to be done. After David learned there was a witness and an actual police report in the works he encouraged me to follow through with charging the person who hit my car and making their insurance company be responsible for this. David and the staff at Unlimited Auto Body did a great job with repairing my bumper after someone backed into it while I was parked. While the damage wasn't extensive David and team restored it to excellent condition. The paintwork was great and you can tell these guys really care about cars (some places cut corners and just try to make a quick buck). I'd definitely recommend coming here if you've got auto body needs (and particularly if you're a car enthusiast/someone who wants the job done right). He ordered the replacement part from a nearby Mercedes dealership as I was standing in his office, and then called me a few days later to tell me it had arrived...we set up an appointment the following Monday and he replaced it in @ 5 minutes! David, owner is attentive and knowledgeable. After Thanksgiving a deer ran into the road on the Merritt Parkway doing substantial damage to our SUV. I was involved in a hit and run and Unlimited Auto Body was able to repair my rear bumper for a very reasonable price. They took my car in that same day and even gave me a ride home! They were very professional and took the time to explain everything they were going to do to my car. I also received updates via phone calls and an email with photos. My car was there for 2 days and when I picked it up it was like new again. The repair and paint job was beautifully done. I will certainly be going back there if I ever need any more work done.
