    Pizza box - cute
    Courtney K.

Have been here a few times lately and the food is solid. It's one of the old stalwarts that accepts only cash or check, and reservations (which are generally necessary due to the small size of the restaurant) can only be made over the phone. They have rotating specials every few days in addition to their regular menu. The pizza is a smidge expensive but very good. A great neighborhood spot and the servers are very friendly.

Amazing service and they treated my daughter and I like queens! Super cozy and cute. The salad was incredible, and we devoured the anchovy pizza- even the leftovers were really great the next day.

Upgrading my last review from four to five stars. Pear salads very fresh and perfectly dressed. Salmon with creamed spinach, wild rice, and vegetables was cooked exactly as ordered (rare), absolutely melted in the mouth. Husband got steak frites. Beef was cooked rare with lovely char and the fries were hot. Topped off with the divine crème caramel. Excellent service (with one faux pas...server asking if we wanted to keep our forks and knives or get fresh ones!)

The restaurant has always had a great vibe. The muscles are delicious. The service is really good. Minimal staff in front of house and probably back to the house but they seem to manage. Our main courses were not very good. I had the soft shell crab, and when it was presented, you couldn't really tell what it was. It tasted and looked as if it was prepared before they opened and served upon request. It was sitting on a nice salad, but the salad was a little soggy. The fish of the day was good but a little spicy. We will give it another shot as I hope you readers will try it. It's been around for a long time and we wish the owners and staff nothing but success.

I've had Cote Sud on my bucket list for ages and finally managed to work it into our schedule on our last visit to the city. I was able to call and leave a message to make our reservation the day of and received a friendly call back to confirm. Be sure to remember that they only take cash or check. If you forget, there's a Chase bank right around the corner on Carrollton. Also, don't go by the menu prices as shown on their webpage... it looks like it hasn't been updated in quite some time. The place is quaint and cozy with old fashioned appeal nestled into the neighborhood. Dinner for two consisted of house salad, and entrees of steak frites, and the duck breast and everything was delicious. Our server was very friendly, attentive, and had a great sense of humor.

This place is actually a great little French Bistro that also does pizza. They make things a bit inconvenient by only taking cash or a local check. Although this place isn't terribly expensive it would be easier to enjoy a nice meal and drink some good wine here if you could use a credit card. The atmosphere here is very cozy and it is a great spot to bring a date. I've enjoyed everything I've eaten here and I've always had decent if a tad slow service. Overall this place is a bit off the radar for most people and they do have some interesting hours that can be a bit challenging to keep up with when they are actually open. If you've never been here you certainly should pay a visit but make sure to have a local check or plenty of cash. My video review of Ciro's Cote Sud is here: https://youtu.be/gEARWACvA_A

Atmosphere is nice. Service was friendly. The mussels were to die for! Duck wasn't cooked properly. Skin/fat wasn't rendered so it was chewy. Filet has to be sent back because it was overcooked. Second attempt was good. I docked a star because the prices on their website are grossly out of date...as in actual prices are 50% more. Mussels on the website $16. Real price $22 steak price on website $22.50. Actual price $34.50. Don't bother posting prices if you won't keep them up to date.

From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted and promptly seated by the hostess. Our server was knowledgeable, attentive, and offered excellent recommendations that made ordering effortless. I started with the pig ears and had the fried chicken as my entrée, while my colleague chose the vegetarian option. You can find pig ears in Honolulu, but not prepared in this culinary style -- it was a creative and flavorful starter. The fried chicken was perfectly juicy and well-seasoned, and the honey butter added a delightful balance of savory and tangy sweetness. The ambiance was classy yet calm, making it ideal for both conversation and a relaxed dining experience. We also enjoyed lemon drop martinis with dinner -- crisp, refreshing, and the perfect complement to our meals. Overall, I would highly recommend this spot if you're looking to enjoy a refined and memorable dinner in New Orleans.

The texture of the beans, crispy rice cake and egg white, and runny yolk were so harmonious with the welcome bite and spice of the jalapeño. I loved the flavor of my Hurricane Buster. It was strong, but balanced. Our servers were good. The water and table runners were especially warm!

She was a bit chatty but still nice. The menu wasn't extensive at all. The waitress did a good job at selling many of the menu options. I initially had the chicken with carrots and brussel sprouts. The vegetables were perfectly cooked and flavored well. The chicken however was very dry. When the waitress asked how it was, I told her how dry it was and she immediately bright me something else, which was the fish and chips. The fish was hot, crispy, and cooked to perfection. It was tender, however it lacked flavor and seasoning. I asked for hot sauce but never received it. I finally decided to ask for a to go box to take the remaining piece home. The chips "fries" were great. They were freshly cut real potato fries. They were hot and seasoned well. My significant other had the shrimp and grits which he thoroughly enjoyed. As an appetizer we had the salad. Seemed simple and basic enough but was actually very good. I'm unsure of the dressing it was tossed in but it was just enough and well flavored. We skipped on dessert. We considered the cookie plate but since nobody could tell us what kind of cookies they were, so we decided to pass. The best part about our dining experience was the ambiance. The music was nice and the decor was vibrant and swanky . I also had a mocktail flavored with pineapple, jalapeno, lime, mint, and cilantro. It was refreshing. I'm glad we had a chance to check it out before closing but I can honestly say there was no "WOW" factor and likely I wouldn't have been in a hurry to come back.

I'd previously sampled great bites from Chef/Owner Justin Devillier (2016 James Beard Award winner for Best Chef: South) at a guest dinner in Charleston, as well as from Exec Chef Joseph Tiedmann at a Farm Dinner in West Palm Beach. But this was my first visit to "the mother ship", housed in a historic century-old building. I decided to start with the Fried Gulf Oysters - Sofrito Purée, Chowchow & Pickled Sweet Peppers, and was glad I did. There's no shortage of oyster dishes in NOLA, and this was a big winner. Next up, when in the South, why not order Fried Green Tomatoes - Burrata, Country Ham & Oregano? Another terrific plate, perhaps the best FGT dish I've had! Finally, my "target dish" arrived, the Shrimp & Okra Gumbo with Andouille, Collard Greens & Popcorn Rice. Really, really good. Very dark roux, as I like, and with plenty of seafood flavor, but more depth as well. Definitely one of the best gumbos I've ever enjoyed. Not like a Twix as someone mentioned. Almost impossible to stick your spoon through and I work out. Seriously shouldn't have to struggle that much. Needs a more flavorful crust, less caramel and more chocolate. They should rename this to caramel tart. The bday ice cream was fantastic and probably saved them from a 3 star review from me so I didn't have to leave on a negative note. The espresso wand was caked with milk froth which should never be. But that on top of the emptiness makes sense with the location, hotel, day and time. Pam took care of us and was a joy as our server. She knew the menu very well and was able to answer all our questions on top of being helpful and productive throughout our visit. We had the skirt steak and king Salmon with a side of fries and stuffed potatoes. The skirt steak was cooked to medium and it was amazingg! Pam asked how I'd like it cooked and suggested it to be cooked at medium rare. I couldn't do that since I'm barely starting to get used to my steaks being cooked at medium, but it was still absolutely delicious. The sauce that was glazed on top, as well as the seasoning of the steak killed it!! The salmon was also delicious. Very flavorful. The stuffed potatoes were ok, we liked their side of fries more than that. Drinks were tasty and refreshing. Worth the price. We also got dessert, a chocolate cake and apple pie. I wasn't expecting to like the apple pie, but wow was that good! And the chocolate cake isn't just any boring cake. Once you break the cake, a chocolaty liquid melts out onto your plate, it was perfection. The restaurant itself is beautiful. They're located on the 14th (if I'm not mistaken) floor and have the best location for beautiful views of downtown New Orleans and the waterfront. In spite of the Yelp ratings, that should have been a huge red flag. Ordered the Old Fashioned from the menu that was very good. Tried to find a bottle of Cabernet for under $150. There were none and only one cab by the glass at $30, so we opted for that (that same bottle sold for $165...math doesn't add up). The menu does not have a lot of variety. No garden salad, so I started with the gumbo. It was good, but would have been better with some bread. We each ordered the ribeye medium with a side of mushrooms and a twice baked potato. The sides were excellent, but the steak was over cooked. To make matters worse, our server was not paying attention so I had to ask another to have our server or a manager come over. The manager came by and promptly took both steaks away to have them remade and comped us another glass of wine. Nice gesture. However, the second steaks were no better than the first. I asked the manager if he really considered what we were looking at to be medium. He assured me it was and held the table light by the steak so I could see it better. You can see by the picture of the second steaks that it was not cooked right either. When the check came, they comped one of the steaks, but not both. Not sure what their logic was, as neither of us ate much of either. Told the server the same and Mr. Manager came back over with both comped. Apparently they were trying to get every red cent out of the few people in the joint!
