We came after a visit to the spa for lunch. I was craving something light but the only salad on the menu was a chicken salad. I asked to replace the chicken with shrimp and our server happily accommodated my request. My friend ordered the steak frites. She was happy with her order. My salad however was lacking in flavor. I'm a fan of lots of toppings but this salad was mostly bare aside from the shrimp. Just a lesson learned not to come here for a basic salad that cost $30. Next time I'll just get a steak too! The service was decent but a little slow considering we were the only patrons at the time. I mostly enjoyed my visit here but some things were left to be desired.

I visited here for the first time this evening. I parked in a nearby parking lot for a quite expensive cost but that was expected given the area. I enjoyed the ambiance and the view of the water. The staff were polite and provided great service. I ordered the seafood gumbo and the chocolate mousse dessert. I enjoyed them both. I had a really great experience here and I would return.

We had a lovely Christmas Day meal overlooking this MS River from our table! The placed was packed, but all staff handled it with the utmost professionalism. Our waitress was attentive and recommended one of the specials, the lamb, which we thoroughly enjoyed! The oysters were icy cold and the cocktail plus mignonette sauces paired perfectly! Do not skip ordering Donald's seafood gumbo - outstanding! We are glad to have selected this spot for our holiday meal & will return in the future for a special occasion.

We have been here twice now. We love eating on the balcony with the river view! Service is outstanding, food is spectaular and for this level of dining its very reasonable. It's a great addition to the Nola dining scene. And do take the time to have a cocktail in the lobby bar. It is beautiful!

The ambiance was nice and quiet, so you can have a conversation. All the appetizers were extremely tasty and well done. The shrimp entree was unfortunately too salty. The desserts looked fantastic but were way too sweet for my taste.

The hostess was looking down at her phone when I walked in, and neither she nor my server asked if it was my first time there, if I was celebrating anything special, or offered information about daily specials or popular dishes. I was hoping to sit outside but outdoor seating wasn't offered. I liked the decor and the complimentary hors d'oeuvre from the chef. It was a bite sized dish similar to a fried wonton. I don't remember the name of it because the food runner said what it was quickly. The bathroom was also clean, which I appreciated. Overall the service was slow and my server wasn't too attentive to me. I noticed she was sparking up conversation and bringing out free desserts for celebrations to diners at her other tables. The burger wasn't medium well as ordered but I didn't have time to send it back because I was on a tight schedule. When I was ready to check out, it took a long time for the server to bring me the check and process my payment. I almost went to the host stand to ask for assistance. As a result, I ended up being late to an event I was attending. I'm a local and came here because I wanted an elevated experience and quality food before attending an event nearby, but I wish I had just gone to Shake Shack for the experience I had. Also, if you choose to dine here, I recommend bringing a jacket because it's uncomfortably cold in the restaurant. Ironically I noticed a different server bring a diner a shawl and place it on her at a different table.

The pathway to the sea meaning the river? I don't know but let's not get caught up on the meaning of the name. Let's talk about the meat and potatoes of the experience. Let's start with the service - our server Jacob was fantastic. He recommended some great items and probably one of the best servers we had during our 5 day NOLA experience. 6 out of 5 stars for Jacob! The ambiance of the place 5/5. Beautiful view. Super cozy table with pillows. Now as for the food 3.5/5. We ordered the gumbo, the baked feta, and the fish of the day which was a sword fish with some sea food. The fish was very good. The baked feta was good and the gumbo was good but for the price and portion size I expected great all around. My wife and I also ordered an Arnold Palmer for each of us. Had a craving I guess. $8 is a bit step for an Arnold Palmer but didn't realize when they brought us a refill it was another $8 each. $32 is excessive for iced tea and lemonade. I really did enjoy the experience but not sure I will be a repeat customer.

Overall solid experience. You know what you're getting at the Four Seasons: world class service and food. Ask for a table near the windows - the restaurant is on the 5th floor and looks out over the Mississippi river. We saw multiple cargo ships and river cruises float by - pretty cool stuff. Our sommelier was from the Toronto Four Seasons - she had been flown in to help with Mardi Gras demand - and was excellent (go Canada). Being in NOLA, went seafood heavy, and were not disappointed. Highlights include the shrimp, the black drum, and the mashed potatoes. For some reason we ran the gamut on the deserts. The crème brûlée was stand out. Definitely recommend if you want an upscale dinner in New Orleans to impress.

Everything about this place is amazing. Went for a birthday dinner on a Tuesday night. Had reservations which was good because the place was packed. We had booked to sit on the balcony which was beautiful. You have views of the river and we got a nice breeze. The food was phenomenal. Our server was so kind and very attentive. Overall such a good experience. Highly recommend for a special occasion!!!

Went on a evening date here and the food was amazing! Our server was attentive and nice as well. Loved the drum meal! It was so good and had a lot of crab meat on top !! The drinks were both tasty as well. I tried the salmon dish as well. Felt like a healthier meal but still tasty!

My mom and I went here for lunch post aquarium. We sat with a lovely view of the river. It's a beautiful space and service was great. I started with oysters, which were delic. I got the fried chicken sandwich, and though the bun wasn't up to the task, it was still delicious. My mom got the moules frites I believe. We then got a cheese plate and a dessert, which is escaping me now. We met our new favorite cheese here haha, Brillat-Savarin. So good!! This was a lovely lunch and definitely recommend.

Go for the $2 oyster happy hour (3 to 6 p.m. every day). Stay for absolutely everything else. Located on the second floor of the Four Seasons hotel, Chef Donald Link's classy restaurant was the loveliest place to stop in for a late afternoon meal or snack. The menu seems to be extremely warm-weather friendly with numerous cold or cooling options on offer. On our May visit, a light breeze washed over us as we dined on the shaded balcony overlooking the Mississippi -- quite welcome for wimpy northerners who only recently graduated from ski season. All of us, including the children, were head over heels enamoured with the hamachi crudo. The dish was an artful composition of incredibly fresh, sweet, razor thin slices of yellowtail dressed with olive oil, capers, lemon, and crunchy sea salt. The portion size was minuscule for the price, but the quality was exceptionally high and Eiji Ichimura flashed briefly to my mind. I would not be surprised if the hamachi crudo at Chemin a la Mer is to other New Orleans crudos what Ichimura-san's sushi is to other NYC sushi -- which is to say grossly expensive, but not clearly overpriced given the truly exceptional quality. The beef tartare was also excellent and decadent, the meat noticeably fresh and flavorful. Unlike the crudo, the portion size was large and consuming it, especially alongside the perfectly fried, greaseless French fries, was like eating a very rich and savory dessert. The beets and burrata with Compostella Farm arugula, crispy quinoa and citrus was no less decadent with its lovely textures and flavors. Chef Link should perhaps earn a Michelin star for this dish alone. Creamy, sweet burrata played so beautifully well with the slight bitterness of arugula, acidic citrus dressing, sweet-crisp beets, and surprising pop of (deep fried?) quinoa. There wasn't an ingredient that was out of place or unnecessary. Impressively in our view, there was even a children's menu, which included sliders and a choice of fruit or vegetable matter (or fries, I believe). These were well made by our children's accounts. Of course, we had to specially request our low-brow ketchup on the side. :) The oysters that lured me in were, surprisingly, the weakest part of our meal, shucked with bits of shell left in, most of the liquor leaked away, and served with some basic mignonette and cocktail sauce for garnish. Sizes varied a great deal and although some oysters were sweet, others were surprisingly tasteless. The oysters I had at The Salted Pearl a few hours later (yes, I am a disgusting oyster glutton) were much, much better. There were happy hour sauvignon blanc and rose on offer, which were poured from bottles that hadn't been too long opened and were pleasant enough with the oysters. We had the good luck of stumbling across Chemin a la Mer on this visit. Next time, it will be well and properly bookmarked as a destination.

The food timing was just right for our large party given how many items ordered (on a very busy night). Our sommelier picked perfect pairings. As a table we order probably 12 different dishes +desert to share (this is way to go imo) and each was amazing in its own way. Unique sweet savory salty combos and great presentations. I am not going to go into details as it has been covered in photos and other reviews. The outside ambience was perfect with heat lamps - on a chilly night no one needed a coat. She was a bit chatty but still nice. The menu wasn't extensive at all. The waitress did a good job at selling many of the menu options. I initially had the chicken with carrots and brussel sprouts. The vegetables were perfectly cooked and flavored well. The chicken however was very dry. When the waitress asked how it was, I told her how dry it was and she immediately bright me something else, which was the fish and chips. The fish was hot, crispy, and cooked to perfection. It was tender, however it lacked flavor and seasoning. I asked for hot sauce but never received it. I finally decided to ask for a to go box to take the remaining piece home. The chips "fries" were great. They were freshly cut real potato fries. They were hot and seasoned well. My significant other had the shrimp and grits which he thoroughly enjoyed. As an appetizer we had the salad. Seemed simple and basic enough but was actually very good. I'm unsure of the dressing it was tossed in but it was just enough and well flavored. We skipped on dessert. We considered the cookie plate but since nobody could tell us what kind of cookies they were, so we decided to pass. The best part about our dining experience was the ambiance. The music was nice and the decor was vibrant and swanky . I also had a mocktail flavored with pineapple, jalapeno, lime, mint, and cilantro. It was refreshing. I'm glad we had a chance to check it out before closing but I can honestly say there was no "WOW" factor and likely I wouldn't have been in a hurry to come back.
