After 15 years in our Condo we decided to upgrade our master bathroom last year. We spent almost a full year getting different quotes from referrals, but they were either frightfully expensive or we were just ghosted by the contractors. We finally decided to go on Yelp to see what we could find and Cotfort popped up with some very good reviews. We initially contacted Umid in September 2024, and he was very quick to respond and meet with us onsite. He spent over an hour with us the first visit going over everything and answering our many questions (this was our 1st major renovation), and then about 4 days later he produced a quote for the labor which was very reasonable. We decided to move forward, but our HOA has very restrictive requirements so it took almost 3 months to work through that. No bathroom vanity involved since it is seperate from the shower. It is a small job. I was hoping to have a honest answer. But no. He gave me an estimation for $16k plus materials. Not sure if he just did not want to do the job to scare me away or hoping I am stupid enough to pay him to do such small job regardless of the quality. We just finished a bathroom remodeling project with Umid (the owner) and his team from Cotfort, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. Among several highly-rated contractors on Yelp, we chose Umid mainly because his quote was not only highly competitive but also the most detailed and transparent I received. Every step of the project was clearly outlined, specifying the work to be done, materials to be used, and what was included in the price. This is a huge difference with most of the other quotes we got - which either has no detail at all, or start with a lower bid but hide the cost of many details. When you asked for those details, the cost started to add up and cost even more. In addition, I also like Umid for his prompt response to all my questions big or small whenever he was available. Throughout the project, Umid was very helpful in giving us suggestions on where and what we need to buy for the finishing materials, as well as taking care of all the pick up and delivery. The demolition started few days ahead of schedule, and all the crew members worked really hard on every details. Tarlan, the main crew member working on our project, is the most hard working guy I have ever seen - he came to our house 6 days a week and sometimes worked until over 7 pm. He is very skilled and always put his heart in the work he did - from tile, edge, paint, to vanity, all came out beautifully. When the glass company came to do the measurement for the walk-in shower door, even they were impressed by Tarlan's work as the tiles were all levelled perfectly, which made their job much easier. All the plumbing work was done by Umid himself, and he did an excellent job to ensure every detail was done perfectly. All the wiring and lights were done by the electrician who is very friendly and super efficient. One episode during the project was the city required us to install a property line cleanout, which was quite a surprise and we need to hire someone specializes in the sewer lines to do the job. Medina, the project coordinator, put a lot of effort and did a great job in coordinating all the permit and inspections with the contractor, the city, and the sanitary district and make sure all the inspections were passed. On the last day of the project, they finished every details, and did an excellent job in clean up all the working areas before they left. I had Cotfold remodel 1 of our Bathrooms in early March and was completed around the end of March. I had 3 bids, and Cotfold is not the lowest bid. However, Umid explains to me that they only used the Schluter system, so I investigated it a bit and found that the system provided a simpler and more error free/less leak prone process. I was fairly impressed with the way the team works together. The project was very well coordinated from the beginning to the end, thanks to Umid and Medina, who fielded all the questions and keep tabs of the progress. All the team members work very hard. They even work on Saturdays and often work late. I was very happy with the fact that they replace some of the rotten woods on the framing and the sill plate, as well as the base boards. They also provided the necessary copper piping and ptrap for the shower and sinks. Tarlan, the key member on the project, works tirelessly and is somewhat detail oriented as I am. And once the technician arrived and determined there was actually nothing to repair (he suggested adjusting the settings of the device that was causing the problem, which actually worked), he left without requiring any payment - true to their initial promise.
