To-go hot sauces green & red
    A E.

Everything you want in a taco shop. Food was great, picked up in the drive thru on a weekend late afternoon. Order the 5 beef rolled tacos for under $10 they come with a heaping of guac and melted cheese. Burrito wise - the carne asada (no pico) and the bean and cheese were elite. Service was friendly and patient as we placed our order. Cannot speak for the inside of the establishment but honestly, with these types of places it's really all about the food and the convenience. Thank you Cotixan!

The rolled taco are high quality meat and the confidence in eating sealed hot sauces is comforting in this age of germ transmission! Great for thought and for this reason this will be my new go to for Mexican food.

Beef rolled tacos with cheese and guacamole. They don't skimp on the cheese and guac.

Aloha all! It's Taco time and I'm back at Cotixan Mexican Food for 5 rolled tacos with cheese and guacamole. Cotixan doesn't skimp on cheese and guacamole and the beef is always tender and juicy. Add some red or green sauce to elevate the flavor. It's always a great meal for lunch or dinner.

My favorite spot for carne asada fries! Love the fact that it is drive thru! This time I ordered the combo plates and they were delicious. I def prefer the carnitas over carne asada. It also comes with 3 tortillas. I was able to make 3 tacos and still have half the box left to eat. The people are always super nice and friendly. I don't usually go inside but they do have large table seatings and salsa bar. I always recommend this place when people ask where to go.

Still best mex food and value. See menu board prices as of 7/2025 I drive past 3 mex restaurants to go here. Pros: all burritos are good and large! Staff friendly. Orange mex salsa is the bomb! Cons: nada.....

    A must have!!!

A restaurant I visit once a month. Try it, you'll like it. And it won't break the bank!

Always reliable and great drive thru. They are open 24/7 which is so clutch. I ordered the birria taco which was not the best birria taco ever, but definitely satisfied my craving. Also ordered the super breakfast burrito which is MASSIVE!!! Comes with bacon, eggs, potatoes, beans, and cheese. You can't go wrong at Cotixan. Would rather support this business then the giant food chains on El Camino Real like Chipotle, McDonald's, and Chic-Fil-A. Use cash and help this business out!

Carnitas plate, chips & salsa & hard taco shredded beef. Corn & flour tortillas so good remind me of my grandmother's food. Thank you

This place is a hidden gem plenty of food that's incredible. I plan to come here every time I'm in town, my new favorite place. You won't be disappointed, my favorite is the sear on the carnitas with lil bits of fat make it ridiculously yummy!!!

Great veggie supreme burrito. Love the red house made hot sauce! Easy fast drive through but way better than typical fast food.

I ordered the mahi mahi fish tacos and a house coffee. The coffee was actually pretty good! Cream and sugar were delivered separately to finish with your preference. As for the tacos, it was okay. The fish was a bit dry for my liking, cabbage could have been chopped with more finesse, and I wished they QC'd their limes a bit before putting them on the plate. Both were bone dry and I had to ask for more. Moreover, the cilantro lime rice was also a bit bland. It needed salt to lift the flavors in my opinion. There weren't even flecks of green if it was supposed to be cilantro? I tried boyfriend's veggie hash but was disappointed to find that it was almost all potatoes. Having said that, it was an extremely generous portion so he was filled up. While I didn't try it, our friend that had the chorizo hash also said it was okay so I'm guessing the ratio wasn't quite right. Anyways, ask for their chili sauce on the side, that's actually quite surprising. It had really good heat and was more like a chili crisp than a vinegary hot sauce. The plates that did score favorably at the table were the carne chilaquiles and the divorced eggs.

Luckily we were given the tip to try El Nopalito which is located just off the northbound Santa Fe Drive exit on the 5. You might want to look at google maps if you don't know the area which is in an older somewhat run down strip mall. Don't let that fool you though, appearances can be deceiving. Indise El Nopalito is clean and fairly large, probably seating around sixty. The kitchen can be viewed from where you order, which I like. We ordered nothing but tacos for starters to see what we liked, they have 21 types of tacos on the menu, so we chose Carnitas, Carne Asada, and El Pastor. Good choices all, freshly made, well seasoned, great toppings and big portions. The two of us were almost full just eating the three tacos. But no, we wanted more, so we ordered the Mole Oaxaca (Red Mole) which was excellent. A very complex taste with cinnamon and chile. Three tacos and the mole finished us. The service was friendly and prompt and I enjoyed sitting there because there was much to see. When we walked in it was a few minutes before noon. We were really surprised because there were about thirty high school students there mostly having sodas and tacos. Within ten minutes they all disappeared to go back to school. The restaurant was almost empty for a few minutes and then many Mexican Landscape Workers came for lunch. At one point there were over twenty people in line and the restaurant was full! This all in the space of fifteen minutes. They did not order tacos, but the daily specials, stews, soups, etc. They were friendly too and there was a great atmosphere. We were impressed by the taste of the food, the great selection, and all we saw. Ignore my other reviews for Mexican restaurants in the Encinitas/Leucadia area, this is our new favorite! We will try to be there about 11:40 again.
