Close enough to get downtown easily and the option to walk around the beautiful coastline. Every morning you are given a simple and delicious breakfast that includes a pastry item, fruit, and juice. We used their stand up paddle board and kayak one morning on the inlet too. The staff was very friendly and helpful for all attraction and dining questions. Don't forget to check out. We were given a wonderful surprise for our ride home.

We live a king size bed but it took up so much space in the room that it was difficult to walk around. The shower was ok - a bit small. Loved having a coffee pot with good coffee and the breakfast delivery was awesome! The grounds are pretty and there are boats you can use - it was too cold to use them while we were there. We walked into town which a nice plus. Lots of great restaurants to choose from. Karen was sweet and professional. She gave us all the info we needed and recommended some places to eat. And the cookies in the office were delicious!

When I checked in yesterday, a gal named Annabelle was working at the counter. I say "gal" not "lady" because she looks like a high schooler (or younger). She's the granddaughter of the man who runs the place. Annabelle is very sweet and courteous, which makes up for her grandfather's rude, brash demeanor. When he walked past us, the grandfather failed to acknowledge me as a paying customer. No "thank you for choosing shorelands," no "welcome to Maine!" or anything. All he said was "I overheard she's got a dog. Make sure you give her the Pet Policy." Then he went to the parking lot to move his car. Annabelle told me I would need to park in the spot her grandfather was in once he moved (matter of factly, not rudely), and her grandpa shot her an awful look on his way out. I will say, attitude aside, the grandfather runs a tight ship. The cabins are inexpensive, there was availability when booking (only a week ago!), and this is a good, 4-wall alternative to really "roughing it" on a camp site. Our room has a full-sized bed, tiny bathroom, sink with a kitchen cabinet, and small table with 2 chairs. There is also a bureau to store clothes, with wall shelving above it. The bathroom sink has some yellow and brown stains, looks like maybe the water in Maine is a bit harsh. Though the price is relatively low per night, they have charges for everything else. Need an extra towel? That'll be $3. Your pet has an accident? $50 charge. Even though you have to clean it, too. They don't provide napkins or paper towels, so if your pet (or your kid, for people who bring those) does have an unintentional mistake on the floor, you'll need to either clean it with water and toilet paper, or find the nearest store that sells paper towels. Be informed: bring cleaning supplies! The bathroom is teeny tiny. No window. No closet. No medicine cabinet. No counter space... It barely fits 2 toothbrushes, a plastic cup, and a travel-sized container of toothpaste. There are hooks on the wall for hanging towels. The floor gets soaked because the shower curtain is slightly shorter than the height of the stall. All they provide are towels (2 per person, plus 2 facecloths/each), toilet paper, and 3 small bar soaps. If you plan on washing your hair, bring shampoo, conditioner, and a blow dryer. None of those items come with this room. They don't provide lotion, shower caps, etc., either - but again, don't expect it. This is a 2-star, $99/night (plus $15/night pet charge or $10/night kid charge) place. There is also a mini fridge In the kitchen area, which is good if you want to store leftovers or pick up a few perishable food items from the local bread store. My left overs from last night are stored in the fridge, which looks old but appears to work just fine. Would we stay here again? Yes... Just be warned you'll want to hit a local drug store or convenience store first! They have a pool, hot tub etc but since dogs are not allowed to walk on the grounds or be left in rooms unattended, my husband and I are unable to use the pool/hot tub during our stay. Unless we wanted to go in shifts and take turns staying in the room with the pup. Supposedly there is also a guest cafe near the check-in lobby, which we anticipate visiting in shifts. Their mascot is a pretty, calico-looking cat named felicity. She was curled up in a ball when I checked in, and the noise of the door opening/closing and my conversation with Annabelle did not wake her. There are also roosters. At least one. He crows from around 7-8am. The rooster annoyed my husband a bit. I was already awake since pup is accustomed to being walked and fed early each morning.

The staff is exceptionally attentive. I am very curious at the type of training they get but they are FANTASTIC. Our waiter Tristan was great, very patient, went over to explain every dish and how it was prepared. Coffee and tea was served within 2 minutes, followed by complimentary dishes from the kitchen. We ordered three dishes: skillet breakfast, fluffy pancakes and lobster with polenta (sorry, forgot the exact name). OMG. Those pancakes were definitely fluffy and the chef didn't skimp on chocolate chips. The skillet breakfast was savory, nutritious, side salad was a nice touch. My husband loved his polenta with lobsters, he was in the carboloading mood that day. I believe the rooms at the inn are great too; I heard other visitors commenting how much they were enjoying their stay. We would love to come back as guests next time.

She was full of recommendations (i.e. Goose Rocks Beach) and was friendly and kind without being overbearing. We showed up a bit late and the key was left in a coded lock box for us. The room was compact, but fine for my husband and I for our 2 night stay. We knew beforehand that breakfast would be boxed for us and that was fine. I was happy that they provided yogurt was Chobani and actually had some protein in it (unlike most continental breakfasts that are a carb party). We rented bikes and kayaks during our stay. It was great that they had these for us to utilize. The bikes should be covered during storage, however. They were a bit rusty. This was the priciest place that we stayed during our 7 night trip, but I wouldn't consider it the best. After our stay, I do feel that our stay should not have cost us so much.

The warm blueberry scones the first morning & great coffee made for a breakfast on the go. Our second morning there were cinnamon scones and we sat and dined. Oatmeal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, small variety of cereals, scones and orange juice/milk/coffee/tea were available for continental breakfast. Our last night there rain hit late afternoon & due to limited & hard to find parking at restaurants in Kennebunkport, we opted to walk upstairs to the onsite PJ's for a lite dinner. We shared the fish plate and warm blueberry pie with separate order of vanilla ice cream. The prices were a bit high, particularly with the tiny scoop of ice cream being priced separately vs 'pie a la mode'. It was good but not what we'd expect of a $10-$11 dessert. Groupon has good deals here on occasion & we were glad that our dates needed matched up. If you want lodging on the water, look elsewhere. This was a good value overall. Clean & friendly.
