I have been a customer for years and have always just bought an item and take away. However things went south when I thought I would use that relationship to design two pillow covers big mistake. It was a battle from the start. Though it was custom the owner refuses to allow me to pick what I wanted on both sides. The first side was fine but the other side was plain . I did not want a plain side but even though there were tons of swatches in her shop she gave this excuse as much more expensive abd each pillow was hundreds to begin with. She refused to say gow much more or give me some option besides plain. The plan was to have two different sides for two different looks on the bed. For that price seems reasonable. NO! A few weeks went by and though she might surprise me and give me a pattern . Nope. The quality is fine nothing 'wow' . I even bought 2 pillows from her for less and they were fabulous which gave me the idea to go custom. It was an odd size insert from Pottery Barn and the store had off seasonal colors . I was so pleased with a pair of colorized bronze bookends I spotted in the window as I was passing one evening. One is a little girl and the other a boy. I plan to give them to my twin grandchildren. One for each of their bookcases. I rushed back to buy them the next day and got the last ones, but the owner said they would be restocked. I was surprised they are from China, but the quality looks to be excellent. The owner took time to box them carefully in lovely gift boxes. That was much appreciated. The items are interesting and unique and the presentation is very professional. The store is closed Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Parking can be tricky if you come at lunchtime. read more

Just got our nook are seat cushions reupholstered by Cotton Works. They picked up the cushions and turned them around in less than a few weeks time. The cushions are custom fit and they were able to maintain its shape for a perfect fit. Sara was attentive and helpful every step of the way. My wife and I stopped into Cotton Works as we were strolling through Los Gatos. We have been looking for a few new things for the home and this store caught our eye. From the moment we walked in and all the way through the delivery of our new couch, Sara was fantastic. I thought customer service was a lost art, but Sara runs her store with professionalism and pride and a wealth of knowledge. She never rushed us to a decision (we did take quite a while to pick out the fabric) and let us take home some of the sample fabric's to see how they would look in our home. She also offered suggestions and opinions on different things we were thinking through, but not in a pushy way. The price was fair and the couch is now in our house and looks and feels great. There was excellent communication throughout the process and she even called the day the couch was finished and loaded on the truck for delivery from Canada. The day after it was delivered, Sara called again to make sure it arrived okay and as expected. This was a nice touch. She knows how to run a small business and take care of customers from start to finish. We will be stopping in everytime we return to stroll the streets of Los Gatos. read more

We love Los Gatos and love this wonderful store. The merchandise is amazing, the store is well-organized with things that you never see anywhere else. Every time we go here we see something new and interesting. The prices are great too. Plus, we love the nice, helpful owner who is always available to answer questions and provide advice. She is really patient. A great place to go to that is not big box. Feels very upscale but still affordable. This is a great place to find decor that is more unique and can add that little pizzazz to a chair or room. Service is readily available and never far away. read more

I LOVE Cotton Works! This is always my go-to store for adorable holiday decor. Off-season, this store is just as lovely. When you first walk in from N Santa Cruz, you're not overwhelmed with STUFF like you are with other stores in the area. Everything is placed practically and nothing is on top of each other. You can find what you're looking for and more that you're not. :) In the back is a great selection of fountains and garden decor. If they don't have something, Sara (the owner) will able to order what you want. Sara herself is very accommodating and has helped numerous times with items I wanted. She's not the typical salesperson where she's always in your face with items you don't care about. Instead, she professionally suggests other pieces similar to what you're interested in and if you're not, the suggestion is dropped. 5-Stars for: Customer Service Quality and Range of Products PRICES are fantastic! The fabric on our very nice chairs had deteriorated over the years. The table and chair frames are still very nice, and the set was quite expensive, so re-upholstering was our preferred option. Fortunately we found Cotton Works who still does this type of work! They did an excellent job, and our chairs are better than new! For those who claim that customer service doesn't exist anymore have not been to Cotton Works. This is a one stop shop for so many of your interior design needs. Sara, the owner has a great eye and an enormous amount of experience. Some of the services she offers include window coverings and re-upholstry work for furniture. All of the work is custom so you know you are going to get unique stuff. Sara takes the time to listen and understand your tastes and what you're trying to accomplish with your projects. We went to Cotton Works for window dressings for our 4 living room windows. Sara helped us pick the right colors to go with the room and just as importantly the right materials to last under tough sun conditions. She did all of the measuring herself and stands by her work. We ended up getting roman shades that came out perfect. Sara offers an installation service, but I decided to do it myself. When I ran into a little trouble installing them, I called Sara who carefully walked me through exactly what needed to be done and it was smooth sailing from there. I walked in the store on a whim, even though I'm moving from the area. The style of the home decor I saw through the window was that compelling--it is very much my taste! While I was in the store, I struck up a conversation with the owner regarding my stylish but uncomfortable dining chairs - I asked whether I should I get them reupholstered (since this is also part of her business), or whether I should just give up on the chairs and the table altogether. Not only was her answer thorough, it was thoughtful, and she helped me see the situation from a different angle that I hadn't considered, and I really appreciated her advice. Great place to grab a unique gift or find some very nice artwork. It's hard to know how to describe them because they have so much. The store is filled with many things for inside your home, but hey also have a very nice garden section in the back with fountains, birdbaths and planters. The Cotton Works has been great! I have had numerous pieces of furniture reupholstered with wonderful fabrics from their selection. As an interior design store, they have a huge selection of everything from draperies to small accessories for the home. I enjoy being creative with fabrics and they have been extremely helpful in coordinating my ideas with fabrics and skilled craftsmen. Sara, you can tell your side of story. You weren't polite at all and you should really check your facts. Your rudeness towards a kid is totally unacceptable. We have never experienced such rudeness towards a kid in other stores (those sell much more expensive things than this store does), so don't scare us with your price tag (btw, $3000 is way over priced for that couch). You can tell your side of story. As customers and parents, we look for more things besides the goods when walking into a store.
