We had searched for a coffee table for years and finally found the one we wanted at RH. We went to the show room and saw the table in person and it was even nicer than online. Then we went to place our order and found out they charge $300 to deliver a table and there is no option to pick up items in the store. This is the first and last time I will buy anything from them due to the exorbitant fee they charge (25%) of the cost of the table to bring it to our house. Make sure you gross up the price if anything you see from them due to the requirement of paying this fee. read more

Their prices are steep, but for certain items I can not find duplicates in quality and design elsewhere. I am using a more neutral pallet in my home....a combination of greys and beiges, and I do attribute this change to their overall color aesthetic. Walked into an empty store and was greeted right away. I was asked if I needed help and I replied that I was looking for bed linens. The associate directed me to look online because their selection was sooooo vast that it wouldn't be worth her time to show me unless I had narrowed down what I wanted. I felt embarrassed and unwelcome. What SHOULD have happened was that the associate helped me narrow my selection by asking me a few simple questions and offering advice about what would fit my needs and then showing me a small selection of products that met those needs. Her inability to do this simple consultative selling lost their store a sale and credibility. Yes I'm young and Hispanic but I do have $$ to spend and this treatment leads me to believe that RH doesn't want younger customers or possibly ones of color. Other reviewers in their 20s have had the same experience. Went to RH Los Gatos today and had really bad experience. A very nice lady was assisting us and she had some question and called the manager. Manager looked like in her 60ies and had horrible attitude. I asked about the warranty and she went on her random bumbling talks "RH is known for quality and all random" and no data point. I said our earlier furniture in rental apt was from away fair and then she went off like it wasn't worth her time, I had to ask the other lady if that oldie owns RH. She is on commission and may be next time I should show them W2. This is a spot for the high rollers. I've been a fan of RH for as long as I can remember and I've been eyeballing the original Lancaster couch for equally as long. If you're not familiar with the brand, it's rustic and classy and unlike anything else. It's a brand you plan for. It's a pricey commitment, but one that's more than worth it. This gallery in particular - it's pretty small, but it gives you an idea of the brand as a whole and they have the classics available on the floor. The customer service is impeccable though. Not sure where the other reviews come from. We're young and weren't dressed up, but were approached not long after walking in. Even though we weren't members, a designer met with us and talked us through all of the questions we had. A tip to consider, if you're going to make a big purchase, it's definitely worth it to buy the membership. You get 25% off of your purchase and then get membership prices on everything for a year. read more

I purchased an almost $5,000 couch. My initial interaction with Lila was wonderful. She was attentive, knowledgeable and very pleasant to work with. We came in and spoke with her twice before we were ready to purchase and she was very patient and helpful both times. The couch arrived and was not the color I was expecting. It was much darker than the model and website showed. I immediately called and asked for her to look into it for me. She asked me to send her an email with photos. Upon receipt of my email she let me know she'd be out of the office for the weekend and would address things when she returned. I have since heard nothing. I'm really disappointed with the level of customer service i received. I feel like I was of value only until the commission on my sale was received. I almost didn't buy from here as a result - but my experience ended up being good. On four different trips (we found additional items to buy) we were greeted when entering the store, assisted with recommendations and samples, received help modifying two existing orders and got all of our questions answered. In total, we interacted with four different employees and everyone seemed generally pleasant and helpful. The most awful customer service experience I've encountered in many years. I walked into the store in Los Gatos ready to spend $15k on a sofa and chair. The sales associate, coming in from lunch, walked right past me without even a nod. She put her personal items down and walked past me a second time to ask the customer who came in 10 minutes after me if she could help her. When I asked if I could be helped first since I had been waiting so long she said "I'll help you when I'm finished". Every clerk in the store had already acknowledged me and told me someone would be with me shortly. Not one of those clerks bothered to mention to her I had been waiting for a long time. We recently purchased a home and came to RH to furnish most of our home and had the worst experience. We were assigned to Lila the designer who seemed to care less about helping us. After we first met, she said she would call and follow up to schedule an in home visit and she never did so I had to call the store to track her down. When I finally got a hold of her, we scheduled time for her to come to the house. That morning, my husband and I drove to the house to meet her (we weren't living there yet) and she never showed up. I tried to call the store but they weren't open yet and she hadn't given me her number. After 30 min of waiting, we gave up and went home. I called the store after they opened and they said that she was out on medical leave, but no one even bothered to call and cancel our appt. I canceled my membership and am taking my business elsewhere. For the price point, you would expect some level of basic customer service but I guess not at this location read more

I have Restoration Hardware taste on an Ikea budget so I've never actually bought anything from the store...but if I were supah wealthy I would almost exclusively decorate my home with their stuff (what I didn't would probably come from Ikea or Target, because, come on). They didn't even raise their heads out of their empty asses, to say hi or offer to help. Instead stared blankly into their screens. I love Restoration Hardware products, but absolutely loathe this store. They are so judgmental of their customers to the point that this location is a stain on the brand. My husband and I make more than enough money to shop there. We have one of their huge leather couches (one of the more expensive items) in our house, as well as many other RH brand items), yet because we are in our late twenties and not dressed to the nines we are completely ignored every time we walk into this location. Today, we were looking at some floor lamps. We couldn't find price tags on some of the ones we liked, and although there were plenty of workers in the store, and literally only one other customer there, we were completely ignored despite the fact that we were stating out loud that we couldn't find the prices. One woman was sitting 3 feet from us and pretended that she couldn't hear us. When another slightly older couple walked in, they were greeted with a warm smile and that's when we walked out and spent our money at Harvest next door. Tip to management: This is the Bay Area. Not all wealthy customers are old and dressed up. You have terrible reviews on here. Step up or continue to lose business. Shame on you for hiring and encouraging judgmental employees. I have never written a review before, but my experience was so bad I felt compelled. I ordered an extremely expensive sofa. The store was great, Loretta in the store was great. Love the furniture. Problems began on delivery. Waited 10 weeks for the sofa, fine. Scheduled delivery, I was going to be out of town. I had an Aunt staying at my house and she showed up before the scheduled delivery window which was 3-5 pm. The delivery guy left me a voicemail at 1pm, saying he would be their in 20 minutes. I did not get the message for several hours. My housekeeper happened to be at the house when he arrived and let them in? She had no idea where the sofa was going or the configuration? My aunt shows up and the sofa is all over my living room? When I got home I was put in touch with the support team. I was trying to figure out how to unhinge all the pieces so I could put the sofa in the proper configuration. They sent directions on how to install the connectors ?(&^% The LG store got involved and a delivery person was sent out a day later. They got my sofa apart an into the correct configuration. Unfortunately, they put a huge gash in my hardwood floor as they are moving the pieces around and their seems to be some metal on the bottom this sofa? I call the store again, Loretta is great Katie Alderman the store Manager is great, we are all good friends by now. I take a picture of the damage and email Katie. I pinged her a few days later to make sure she received my email ? She said she did and someone would call me. Couple weeks later I call Katie again to ask what kind of time frame I should expect to have someone call me? She said she thought it should have happened already. So, I love this part, I am dealing with Melinda in their "customer service" department. She can call me, but apparently she cannot get inbound calls? Interesting for a support group???(&$ She asks me to leave a time on her voicemail to receive a call back when she called me? I did call her back with a time I was available, no call back so far. I did leave her another message a few moments ago with my availability for tomorrow since I cannot call her directly? Love the furniture, but their service is the worst experience I have ever had that I can remember. Buyer be aware, great products, everything else seems to be a mess. Today, One Week before my guests arrive and I've received all By the rods, they say it's back ordered and won't be here for another three weeks if that. "Estimated" delivery. My stand by rods are Broken. They took My key twice and Did this twice. DON'T EVER BELIEVE THEM. THEY LIE and you have no way out. This review is specifically for the lackluster customer service my husband and I just received from this specific location. Walking into the store, there was probably only another family browsing around. I immediately approached one of the sales associate who was just standing there behind the counter. She was a woman with a French accent. We had inquired about paints and asked her to look for 3 specific colors. After checking their stock, it turned out they were out of all the samples and even out of the gallon sizes. We asked if she would kindly check to see if the Palo Alto location had them in stock and she immediately said, "No, all galleries are out of stock." Yet, how would she know? She didn't even know they were out of stock in this location, so what made her believe that they were out of stock in "all galleries"? We politely thanked her for her "efforts" and then walked out. My husband decided to call the Palo Alto location when we got to the car and lo and behold, they had all ALL the colors (slate, graphite and cloud white) we asked for in stock with both sample paints and full size gallons! We just want to thank that French woman for going "above and beyond" for her customers... Such a joke! Do NOT go to this location. I've been shopping at the LG store for quite some time. I have nothing but praise for their customer service, and I'm always happy with my purchases. I noticed however, this past Christmas, they decided not to display the holiday items in their store. My friends and I look forward to going every year to admire the prelit trees, wreaths, string lights, and other Christmas decor which we wind up purchasing for our homes. We were very disappointed to find the store was not decked with festive holiday items. Wow. I'm honestly shocked by all of the horrible reviews. We just completed a major remodel - and ended up in this RH Gallery no fewer than 5 times, each time with my 3 and 4 year old boys in tow (not ideal, but what are you gonna do?) One time we were there for over an hour - never once did anyone (except for one snobby customer) make me feel uneasy at all about the fact that my boys were neither "sitting still" nor "quiet." Corinne (the French lady referred to in a couple of other reviews) always made it a point to get them their very own little bottles of water and showed them how to play the display game which is set up on one of the RH office desks. When she noticed me getting nervous about them being noisy, she told me not to worry. She is absolutely wonderful and very customer service oriented! She was delightful to both me and my boys on every occasion. On one occasion when she was not there, we were helped by Kim who was also extremely friendly and helpful. There were times when I inquired about items (to both of them) which they immediately knew were not in stock - without checking the computer. They carried very limited inventory in the store itself. Fast forward to delivery - our delivery experience was also top notch (delivery crew was courteous and careful). The only glitch was that the dining room chairs did not match anything else, despite being the same color (fog) as the other RH items we'd ordered. I did have to escalate this issue - but had it resolved over the phone within 20 minutes and they agreed to replace the chairs (despite their policy on custom orders). We were very happy with our experience at this gallery - and highly recommend it! I only wish they carried more items from their new "RH Modern" line in the store. read more

They either do not greet me or tell me to look online. 1 out of 100 times, I might get a friendly or helpful staff associate. I live down the street so I am frequently just browsing the stores on N Santa Cruz Ave; however, I have stopped visiting this particular store because of the staff's attitude.
