I see pictures of flowers that were actually sent out today for Valentine's Day nothing like the picture small little flowers that aren't bloomed !! I ordered flowers online from out of state. It said one day delivery. When I went to check out, it said delivery was the next day. I called the store and asked if they could move my delivery to today. Within about 2 hours, my daughter said that they were delivered!!! Plus, she said that the arrangement was beautiful!!! Cottonwood Florist is located in a small business area bordering 47th Avenue, close to AIMS. The buildings are relatively new. The interior of Cottonwood Florist was much like other florists of comparable size. There were many gift selections. The cooler had a few already wrapped bouquets. There were two customers there, one chatting friendly with the clerk, and later with the manager. It helps to build rapport, if you want good service. I entered Cottonwood Florist with a firm idea of what I wanted to get for my wife. I asked the clerk something about the colors of the roses on hand. She could not answer, so got the manager for me. Really, the manager has to be called to answer questions about the colors of the flowers on hand? Do we have control issues here? I described the type of flowers I wanted, describing the colors I was looking for, and explaining that I would like roses whose buds were still somewhat closed. When I worked as a florist, we segregated roses by how open their buds were. Some customers wanted roses in full bloom, for the glory. Others wanted tight buds that would open later, for the drama. The manager at Cottonwood Florist said, with more acerbity in her voice than was due, "Well, I can't do anything about that!" I never told any customer, "I can't do anything about that!" If the customer asked for something special, we were trained to say we would do our best to get what he asked for. If we couldn't meet the request exactly, we would bring out the closest we could come and apologize, "I'm sorry, but we don't have what you asked for. We do have this, which is similar. Would this do?" Most of the time, they accepted our efforts with gratitude, and with return business. I was told to look in the cooler to see if there was something from there that would satisfy me. Well, I have learned that if you accommodate people, sometimes they will accommodate you. So even though i had glanced at the cooler, and even though what i wanted was more specific than the generic bouquets waiting for desperate buyers, I stepped into the cooler and looked. Frankly, the offerings were lame. I've seen as good at King's on 35th and on 72nd. I informed the clerk that there was nothing in the cooler that matched what I was looking for. She again went to the work area, got the manager, and the manager came to find out what I wanted. I could tell I was interrupting something more important than my business. I explained what I wanted. She went back, and a few minutes later voilá, satisfaction. No smile, no pleasantry, just handed me the flowers and went back to the important work. I paid the clerk, whose contagious cheerfulness was the brightest spot in the store. Flowers in the cooler: average. Flowers available from the work area: uncertain. Gifts and paraphernalia: some definitely attractive, some very intriguing, one or two almost irresistible. Lighting: adequate. Space: spacious. Cashier: cheerful, polite, precise, professional. I paid over $60.00 for a corsage and a boutonnière. I did it online for store pick up. I called to make sure that I could get there on time and the person on the phone made sure to let me know she closed at 3:00 PM so I better get there on time. I figured, it is Saturday so she wants to go home. I made sure to get there with 30 mts. to spare. I think their store is cute so I was hoping to look around as I am remodeling my house. As I enter there is a sign that reads 50% off when you buy both for Homecoming. I thought sweet, surely it will be honored since that is just what I did. Nope! The person behind the counter said since I did it online, they would not. There was no further conversation about the flowers in general. No questions about how it turned out and what I thought or how to care for them. I won't buy flowers from there again. I will make the trip downtown to Mariposas. They are kind and accommodating and don't treat me like they are doing me a favor. I paid for your service. I love a cute fresh flower shop but I value kind service more. read more

Cottonwood florist is an amazing company! I was so impressed everything was perfect the bouquets were gorgeous! I seriously put off the flower shopping until the last minute because I felt that I had heard all these horrible things about how expensive flowers are, and how hard it is to find a good florist at a reasonable price. In fact I looked into renting flowers because I thought it would be cheaper, but I was so wrong! They were so reasonable and the girl that helped me was a great communicator, she kept me in the loop, and they went ahead and set up all the flowers while I was getting ready. I loved that I didn't have to tell them what to do or how I wanted everything...it was perfect! I would highly recommend using Cottonwood Florist for all of your wedding needs!! Cute store, lots of great gift ideas and unique items. Was having a giant gourmet fruit basket put together. Assistant was helpful and professional. Gave me a good idea of what I could get based on how much I wanted to spend. Basket was ready when promised, looked great and was full of perfect fruit, fresh baked cookies and lots of other goodies! I ordered with a short time frame and they were very accommodating, basket was ready even sooner than I hoped! Will definitely be back! I probably would have given this place 1 star if I actually got to experience their service and product based on reading the other reviews on Yelp but lucky for me when I arrived they were closed ( 45 minutes early). read more

I have been ordering flowers for my parents from Cottonwood for many years. I don't live in town and call from long distance - sometimes continents away - to avoid the fees from FTD or the other on-line systems. Cottonwood staff are always friendly and responsive. And the flowers are beautiful and delivered on time. read more
