First of all , I will mention the wines were great. Have never been a fan of Temecula wines , I was very pleasantly surprised. I belong to 4 wine clubs in Napa/Sonoma county so prefer the quality of the wines farther north. It started out shaky when we asked about sitting in the Adirondack chairs but told those were reserved. Only 3 of them were taken the entire time we were there and an option to reserve them online was not available. I would love have joined the wine club, but was told the tasting fee would not be waived even when I was planning on buying 4 bottles that day. I was told that benefit would start the following day, and I could come back the following day, however, I live over 50 miles away so def not an option. However, I was told I could get the member's club discount that day on the wine I purchased. So I guess some wine club benefits start on one day, some on the next? It's unfortunate the tasting fee is not waived for joining the club . While I don't mind spending hundreds of dollars on wine at your winery over the course of a year, the least you can do is waive the tasting fee. read more

This was our 2nd stop on our winery tour where we had lunch with a beautiful view of the vineyard below us. The outdoor seating area was shaded and had an amazing aroma from the rose bushes and flowers. For lunch I had the roast beef sandwich and my gf had the charturie plate. Both were perfect amounts for our wine tasting day. After a couple glasses of wine we couldn't help but sit in the seats facing the valley with the sun against our faces. The fresh air and sun was so comforting that we took a power nap before continuing on our wine tour. read more

Stopped in today for a wine tasting while out enjoying the local area. The wines were very good. I started with their sparkling Cougar Bubbly, a very good Brut, I recommend it. Finished with the reds that did not disappoint. Covid 19 precautions were in place. I'd like to return to this winery, to experience it at it pre-Covid level. Very unwelcoming attitude. We didn't know that you needed reservations- but they would let you in if room was available. (We got there not long after opening. ) Very few people there. Maybe 10 max. We were treated like we weren't welcome and were scolded for not knowing about reservations and then told ' you WILL know better next time, right?' What are we? Children? Then we ordered food. 2 sandwiches that were on last weeks bread. Could hardly choke down a couple bites. We were also assigned a table in the sun-when there were a good 10 in the shade with no one there. So disappointed and will never return. read more

I did not try any of the wines here. I will be reviewing the service and the food. Everyone here was super friendly! We were seated outside, and they had misters running because it was hot. That was really great and refreshing. The food here was okay. As a group, we got some sandwiches and some pizzas as well as the cheese and cracker platter. We enjoyed our food overall. I personally got a meatball pizza, and the cheese was chewy. I didn't mind it too much, but I found it to be kind of odd. The one downside about doing a wine tasting outside is that they don't serve you the wines. A tasting comes with 6 choices, and you have to get up and walk in and out of the building to get them. You can choose to get 2 at a time to limit how often you have to get up. We would likely come back here! read more

They have Italian wines in the tasting room, not my favorite type, I guess I'm spoiled by California wines. We had a bad experience and will never, ever go back. We sipped 2 of the 6 tastings, found it was not to our liking, we asked for our money back the person who poured we could get it back we explained we did not like the wine and it was not to our tastes. We asked for the manager, he said "I am the manager, and you're not getting your money back!" We let Him know in the interest of good customer service would he refund our money Back or at least give us a partial refund, he said no, money back! He didn't want to work with us at all under the guise of providing good customer service. I really enjoyed this winery. There are outside Adirondack chairs that look out at the rolling hills of Temecula. We went during the early afternoon on a Friday so the winery was not too crowded. There is a deli located inside for food available for purchase, I did not try anything from the deli but it seemed pretty popular with the crowd inside. There is a check-in offer, and all of the wines I tasted were enjoyable. This winery is a little ways off of the main rode, which I enjoyed. I will most likely be returning again. read more

Not sure how many vineyards there are in and around Temecula however i recommend to visit here for both the wine and the deli, yes, deli. As for the wine, i have it on good authority it was delicious, i myself was designated driver, however i did want to review the deli on premises. The lady there said the pizza was very good, so i ordered a hawaiian and a margarita, i also ordered the italian sandwich. The sandwich was made with boars head meats and very fresh salad accompaniments on an artisan roll, this was as good a sandwich as you would get anywhere in the city. The pizza was fantastic, doughy but crisp crust, incredibly fresh italian sauce, fresh cheese and the of course the meats were boars head so top class. Place closes at 6pm so i'd get there a little earlier to make sure your not disappointed. read more

This is one of my favorite stops on the Grapeline, not only because of the above mentioned, but also because it's the part of our 4-winery tour, where we get fed lunch. The back patio has an amazing view. We made reservations due to Covid. We arrived early and were taken care of right away. We went on a Thursday at 2pm and maybe saw three other couples while we were there. The wine is okay, but the view made up for it. We checked in on Yelp and received half off our tasting. Not a big fan of the actual wines but that is a matter of everyone's taste. I know people who became members as they liked their wines a lot. The rating is on our host (want to say Andy) who is a PT teacher and does this for fun. Not only is he a perfect host but also very knowledgeable. First time here for a holiday party and wine tasting. We had the back corner of the tasting room reserved for the party. They had lunch set up for us, salads and sandwiches. Before we sat down to get comfortable we were able to taste 6 different wines. The service was great, they explained each wine and flavor. And made recommendations based on the flavors we preferred. We forgot to keep our wine glasses with the winery logo etched on it. The wines were great and they had a wide selection. I prefer sweeter wines and I was able to find one that I really enjoyed. They even had a sangria wine. My only complaint was that tasting room is freezing cold. Bring a jacket! It was fun being surrounded by all the wine barrels though. We walked around and read all the metal tags on the barrels. People can buy barrels wine and they will place a placard with your name on it. The outdoor space is beautiful. You can sip on your favorite watching the sunset over the grape vines. It was a beautiful winery and we all enjoyed ourselves! read more

My review is of their fabulous deli---we eat there every couple of months when we go out to Temecula for a wine pickup. The ravioli appetizer is a must have! Spicy red sauce that my husband will want for his whole life. Great sandwiches and pizza, and DELICIOUS gluten free pizza crust....I'd get it even tho gluten isn't a problem for me. Living as close as we did to the wineries before we moved to NJ was being spoiled 100%. We, literally pull out of our driveway go 1/2 mile and we were at Butterfield Stage and Rancho Calif Rd, which as most know in the area this is the gateway to wine heaven. Most tourists go to the Rancho Calif Road wineries for tastings on weekends and it can be crazyyyy, but locals like us usually visit those on weekdays when its not insane and also loved visiting the vineyards on the back roads (De Portola) for much needed relaxation and delicious wine. Cougar for us was a weekend winery, fun, quiet outside with the wind, birds and nature and we really enjoyed the tastings they didn't have the food area at the time we used to go or the new set up, for us it was just the big wood cougar sculptor when you walked in bar and the beautiful barrels in the back area you could see on full display with a super friendly staff ready to give the 411 on their wines. I'm going to add I know people like to bring kids to wineries while the adults taste- bring money so they can have the deli meats or cheese or buy local fruit let them be a part of the experience (without tasting of course). Our oldest kids loved going with us and now enjoy the same with their friends, our Mini-Me loved going to just see all the stuff in the shops, we bought her a Cougar zipper sweat shirt -- you know it can be a family thing as long as kids are behaved. There is a nickname my husband and I call amazing, delicious wines that knock you off your feet.....and that is "Jammy Jam". Like "wholly crap, that is the Jammy Jam". Well, my friends, this all inclusive winery is full of them!! The Hubzz and I visited on a cool Tuesday afternoon after picking up our quarterly wines at a different winery. I always like to try a new place when visiting Temecula. And, although Cougar has been out there for 20 years, I have yet to try them. As we walked into Cougar Winery, we were greeted with a warm and vibrant "Hello!! Welcome to Cougar Vineyard and Winery"!! Well, anyone that has that much energy and passion sure has me at Hello! Her name was Susan. We let her know we had not experience Cougar before. After asking us a few questions, she got us started on a red tasting. While enjoying their amazing wines, she told us the history of the name, the process in which the produce the wines, and described all of their fun events. She even gave us a quick tour of the facility. After the fourth or fifth delicious taste, I knew it..............we were hooked. Damn it!!! I had my rehearsal dinner here for a group of 20ish people including some kids, and it was a lovely, perfect evening. Unlike most other wineries that close at 5pm, Cougar is open until 8pm on Friday evenings, and they have a great patio with a view! Both the wine and the food here is delicious. Everyone in my party raved about the food; we pre-ordered the Monte's Luncheon which included deli-style sandwiches, salad, and brownies - in addition to 5 pizzas and many, many bottles of wine! I came here with friends on a Sunday afternoon. It was a gorgeous day and it's a nice estate. They have several different wines to enjoy in a tasting and a few options for food. Nothing fancy, but it's good to have something to eat after a little wine. I liked a few of the wines, mainly the red wines and Jae was very knowledgable about all the wines, which was nice. After finding our favorite, we got a glass and sat out on the patio enjoying the view. There is an awesome side room where they set up the football game, which was fantastic! If we would have known, we would have gone there to watch the game! Great place for the guys to relax, while the girls enjoy their wine tasting. I will be honest, when my aunt and cousin said that they were going to Cougar, I had to chuckle. Then they described the wine, the setting, and the food and I knew I had to go. Let's start with the setting- it was beautiful. The only thing about it is that the parking is kind of scarce and so it could possibly be a trek if they are super busy. But we found tables outside and enjoyed our time there. I was hoping to sit in one of the nice big chairs but they were taken. We started out tasting the wines and they were pretty good but the smell of the kitchen was making me hungry. We ordered a variety of things including Italian grilled cheese, Margherita pizza with a pesto sauce, bruschetta, and caprese. Every single item was AMAZING. Like really good. I'm drooling just thinking about it. The bruschetta especially since we ended up ordering another one. The wines were good, I really enjoyed the pink cougar and will keep this on my list of places to go. read more
