My first news years resolution was to get an old fashioned barber shop trim. Country Clipper fits the bill as not only one of the oldest parlor's in Arizona, but it's also located smack dab in the middle of Old Town Chandler. Tucked in between San Tan Brewery and Murphy's law, I must have stumbled past this place countless times. When I rolled in, I was greeted by a number of well groomed gents and they set me up quickly in one of their old-timey chairs. There's a TV to keep the conversation going, but every guy in the place knows how to gab. It's an art form, really. My barber did a great job on my cut and finished up with a straight razor neck trim - always an excellent touch. I recommend this $16 haircut to dudes of any age. read more

After going to a chain barber shop over the years and deciding I was tired of my typical "run-of-mill" cut, I looked around for a new place that would do a true barber cut that took a little time instead of someone that wasn't trying to push me out the door in 5 minutes with a cut I could've done myself at home, and also offer a great neck shave. I tried out another place in Chandler before this one that claimed this was their thing, only to be disappointed with about the same quality cut as a chain, and costing $25 more than it was worth. Enter Country Clipper. These guys know what they're doing, and take pride in their work doing awesome cuts. It's nice to know I'll leave with a great cut every time instead of the inconsistency you might find at some of the chains. I always get a nice neck shave to top it off that shows their attention to detail every time. All the men in my family come here. From ages 5-55.. If you're coming in for a basic cut, or want something stylish, they can make it happen. They're very patient with my vocal 5 year old, which is a plus in my book! Definite lifers. It drives me nuts when a services business lets a person walk in and barely greets if gives no greet. Today I walked into a semi greet and then silence. Four barbers, One says hi but then leaves me wondering is there a sign-in board, a waitlist or do I just sit? I see four people in barber chairs looking almost finished up and three people sitting. So I think most likely I'm waiting tops, 15 mins. I see a Trump supporter sign but its in the work station of the one barber that said hello and he is obviously a courteous dude and I am a courteous dude -which is good common ground for two strangers to build mutual respect. So I sit and think about hgtv -which always pacifies me. 10 mins later. I am pointed to a chair. The Barber was not all too friendly and shot down my idea of the style of hair I wanted, which I had already explained would need to be tweaked for my lack of hair. -anyhow I digress. The Barber Michael after a few jokes and laughs warmed up and cut my hair and beard perfectly. I want to give 5 stars but I also want to give 3 stars for the first impressions, but they all greeted and thanked me as I left and Michael did do a damn good job. The next experience at this barbershop will be my decision maker if I will recommend to friends and Yelp or keep searching further. read more

I called them asking for an appointment and they were like just come on in there's no waiting. I reached the place, I was on the chair directly from the door. I was referred here by a friend. Told the barber to trim up the style I already had a but shorter He butchered the left side of my head. The entire cut is uneven. I came back in and tried to resolve the problem but the guy who gave me the cut argued with me for 10 minutes saying it was supposed to look that way. I got up and asked for a refund of only the cost of the cut. He refused and asked me to leave. Horrible experience. The owner should be stepping in to make this right.. but no such luck so far. Go to super cuts instead and save yourself a few dollars. Went in today for a simple hair cut and the guy in the middle chair (blandishments hair) was more interested in his game he was playing on his phone. In the middle of cutting my hair he would turn to keep up with his game on his phone and then come back to my hair cut. This happened twice and the quality shows how distracted he was. He even missed a large part of my hair and I had to even it out at home myself. He also couldn't even shave the back of my neck correctly. As I was evening out his poor job I could see a large patch that he missed that I then had to shave myself. Super cuts may have actually done a better job for $23.00 plus tip. read more

Absolute worst haircut ever in my life. I asked to be careful to fade up and not expose my scars on my head which every other place I've been living all over the US has been able to do. Not only did he not it is so short there the stand out terrible worse than ever ever before. A kid with a weed eater could do better. I will not be going to this barber shop anymore. Number one, they were talking shit saying some very racist things about a man and his daughter when they walked out because of there race. Secondly I was getting a haircut one day and when I was very exhausted from work one day and didn't realize until I went home that I accidentally paid double for my hair cut because I had already paid on yelp. When I called the owner and let him know, he did not want to solve the issue and said that my barber accepted it as a tip. I don't know what world you live in but no one pays $26 for a basic hair cut...and the fact that he is that greedy that he does not want to at least offer me a refund... read more

I've been going to a barbershop that is closer to my home in Gilbert. I always thought it was a pretty good haircut and that it was the best I could get for the $16 price. Yesterday I went to a restaurant right next to this barbershop. It was about 4:45 and my regular barbershop was to close at 5. This place closes at 7. I checked that this place was rated 5 stars. I stepped in and the barbers were very friendly and the wait was not bad at all. Got a seat almost immediately after I stepped in on a Friday night. I told my barber what I wanted and the first thing he did was clean up the work of my old barber. He did an amazing job that really puts into perspective the jobs that other barbers have given me in the past. Definitely recommend it for others to try. I will be making the trip from my home in Gilbert just for another haircut from this place! read more
