I picked up 3 pounds of teriyaki marinade , there were quite good. This busy place offers multiple other fresh cuts of meats from ribeye to filet mignon and more Definitely a place that brings back the local butcher shop. This place is also popular for their sandwiches. People online seemed to be regulars and were ordering away If you've never stopped in, I highly recommend that you do. Give them a try. Came here for the first time the other night 30 minutes before close with my family and we ordered grinders. they were out of a lot but that's expected at the end of the night. My husband was picking up lunch so when I came onto Yelp, I wasn't sure what to get since there were no pictures available. I went with tuna - huuuge mistake. The bread was soggy so I went to transfer it onto my own bread, and I thought my trash had gone rancid before realizing it was actually the sandwich giving off the wretched stench. I was horrified when I got closer to smell it - and it looked more like massive old chunks of random food bits put together than what would normally resemble tuna. Unfortunately I don't have a picture to post for other yelpers since I couldn't give this sandwich to my dogs fast enough. One of them eats poop regularly when on hikes and sniffed this a bit at first before deciding to reluctantly eat it, if only out of fear of losing it to the other dog. I've heard other sandwiches there are good, but I won't be back to this gas-station-without-gas looking place to try any others. read more

My husband already doesn't like this place, because he hates pickles and every time I told them not to include a pickle in the box, they included a pickle in the box. He threw out at least 2 sandwiches. I even tried calling in my order to make sure they wouldn't include a pickle and they still did. So my husband no longer orders from them but me and the kids still enjoyed their sandwiches once in a while, although sometimes they are a little boring tasting. But this last time when I paid they mistyped the charge and charged me over $3000 (typed the amount twice). They were nice enough to call me to let me know, but then the missteps kept happening. They said they'd refund me the money. Instead, they charged me AGAIN for over $3000. I now had a $6200 hold on my card and couldn't use it any longer. I called again. They said they'd fixed it and refunded it and it was all set but all they did is take out the second $3100 charge but not the first. I now have a no longer pending but actual charge of $3100 on my card that I can't fix because it's the weekend. It will probably be another week at the earliest, before I can dispute this charge on Monday until the credit card company can get it fixed, because they seem unable to fix this huge mistake of theirs. If you go here, make sure you take your receipt, my mistake for being trusting and saying I didn't need a copy. read more

I want to first say this rating is not because of the food but the customer service. Growing up in the area this place has always been a staple. The staff is so wonderful and the service has been the reason why it is so popular, but today was NOT the case. Was wanting Turkey tips & steak tips. We have been there before when we get there they are out. So today I called prior to see before heading out there. I spoke with a lady who first said its easier to come and she was busy in the middle of something. I said please check so we do not waste a trip and then she finally asked someone and I could hear her say that she told me that already and she laughed. I thought that the customer service was rude. It's a great local place to pick up ingredients for a quick meal without going through the hassle of visiting a big supermarket. There's a lot going on here - from catering to grab-and-go, to deserts to great lunch specials. Sooper carries a good selection of breads, hamburg buns, etc. for cookouts. Something must be said about the counter people they hire. They're all very good (say half a dozen or more). Many are high school or college kids (plus the owner's family). The "kids" I would call them - are some of the best group I've ever met. They're consistently helpful, friendly, fast, have great customer service skills and know how to work well with people. This deli is ok for a walk-in sandwich, however when attempting to place an order for a special occasion, I found the customer service to be horrendous. When calling, I was put on hold 3 times during a non busy time of day, and their willingness to accommodate my requests was nonexistent. When picking up the order, half was the order was missing and had to return to pick up the rest. If convenience was not an issue, I would have hung up and called Oliva's.
