I'm from Texas and I've been so homesick. I usually shop at H-E-B and Central Market back at home, and if you know, you know. When I got here, I went to Walmart (terrible), Market Basket (better), and Target (limited). My friend took me here and Wegmans reminds me of home. I had to change pharmacies last September 2025 due to Hannaford's closure. I switched to wegmans in northborough and it's been a terrible experience. They never have me or my husband's meds completed on time, they fail to follow up on refills consistently, and I don't find them to be professional at all. Ordered a cooked rotisserie chicken, I used Instacart it was raw. I also ordered cotton candy grapes and they put regular ones in the cotton candy grapes container, like I wouldn't notice, only haven eaten them for years... but they certainly charged me the price of the cotton candy ones - they probably weren't even organic. And when I called, the snarky customer service representative who claimed he was the assistant manager had a solution for me. Get in my car and drive to the store to get new items or a store credit. We travel out of our way to visit Wegmans in Northborough because we love everything about the store. Big, bright, clean, and roomy. They also prepare a lot of take away meals, which can come in so handy for a busy family. The employees are always busy and ready to assist. Plenty of parking space, The aisles are wide so folks can get around easily. We recently bought food for our family because they have busy lives right now. Have to call out their prices are rising much more than any competitor I visit. To the point that I, as a retired senior, bought well over $100 less today than I would have - all based on price. The prepared food have [probably been the biggest shock. And much higher than Whole Foods, Market Basket, Market 32, etc. The lo mein (vegetable) now $12. The chicken parmesan, side dishes, meatballs - all above market values considerably. Prepared "dinners" for one $16-20. The hot tables at $15.99 A pound far exceed others. On and on. Most things I buy are becoming unaffordable at Wegmans. I wrote management to let them know what this does to the retired community on fixed incomes. Never got a reply. Tried twice. Some things still reasonable - yogurt, chips, water. But not enough to consider this for a major shopping. So alas, shall driver further for better values. A shame. Really. And just to mention, the pharmacy is the best I have ever been to. Really. But as of January 1 no longer preferred in my insurance plans. So yet another r blow to my patronage. UPDATE: Just read a number of pages of reviews here - positive AND negative and could not find ONE reply from management. That speakes volumes. Nothing. No sorry for your eperience. This grocery store is absolutely amazing. I LOVE the fresh food section. They have such a large variety of fresh produce and meats. There is so much that I want to try and not enough time to eat it all. Hands down, without a doubt, this place has to be the most beautiful grocery store ever. I like the bakery they have good bagels ,muffins and cake donuts but today I gave their regular dough donuts a try and was very underwhelmed. Worst Boston cream donut I've ever had. The chocolate frosting was meh. The cream was barely sweet,had no flavor and was runny. Plus it was all dough and a quarter size amount of cream. My first visit to a Wegman's anywhere was this location. Don't understand why this chain is still in business. The aisles are no wider than bowling lanes, impossible to navigate, and it wasn't even peak hours. . I hate to think of the demolition derbies that take place when it's busy. No rhyme or reason to where items are stocked and the prices SUCKED. Two dollars more for a bag of apples than a local store? Nine dollars for a salad smaller than a flip phone and nothing but lettuce? Everything was more expensive. And the poor folks working there looked shell-shocked and unhappy, doing their best to avoid eye contact. Left after 20 minutes and went back to my local food store. Two employees said "hi" to me for no reason as I walked by. The prices and specials got me out of there with a full week and half of groceries for the family for under $200. Seriously. read more

Have you ever had a conversation with a whole bunch of people from different parts of the country when the subject of "supermarkets" comes up? Have you ever seen certain folks get all weepy at the mention of a "Wegmans"? I used to work for a woman from Rochester, NY and she always told me how much she missed Wegmans. To be honest, I thought she was just being a little dramatic, I mean seriously -- aren't most supermarkets kind of all the same? Well on the way back from a trip to Boston today, we made our first trip ever to the Wegmans in Northboro, and all I can say is HOLY CRAP IS THIS PLACE AMAZING!! I take back every skeptical word and thought I ever had about Wegmans. Take equal parts Whole Foods, Stew Leonards, the biggest food court at the biggest mall you have ever been to, the biggest Chinese buffet you have ever been to, toss in a sushi bar, a dim sum bar, pizza, sandwiches, a mac and cheese bar, add them all up and multiply by 4 and you get an idea what Wegmans is like. Seriously, this place was freaking amazing. It's huge and with all of the choices for grab and go stuff and food bars, its really overwhelming. We picked up some sushi and dim sum for dinner, and thought the quality was very good. Totally fresh tasting fish and rice. Nice selection of dim sum (especially the scallops). I am so glad to have stopped here. Sadly, this is the closest one to my home. Eighty-five miles away. Well, from now on, this is a stop on all future Boston trips. read more

So unless I can't count, I'm on my 100th review of the year and concluding "The Yelp 100 Challenge" tour-of-duty. I wanted to review a place that I really enjoy and could passionately describe. Why not the greatest supermarket in the Western Hemisphere? (or at least best in America, according to Consumer Reports) To be honest, I lived in Western New York for a period of time, so I've been a fanboy of Wegmans for a long while. Yes, I do drink the Wegmans kool-aid (not literally, though I don't know if they have it or not). When I moved to the Boston area in the 2000's and people were singing songs about Whole Foods, I used to counter, "You haven't seen Wegmans yet, that's why." It's a far trip for groceries, but if I want that occasional nostalgia, I make that hour trip along Route 9 to Northborough, passing various inferior supermarkets. (I still love you Trader Joe's, but you look like a 7-11 compared to a full-sized Wegs) "Overwhelming" is generally a word I can describe a suburban-style Wegmans such as this one. The place is huge and you can get lost in the waves of groceries, produce, prepared foods, meats, hair/beauty products, medicine, organic products, alcohol, etc. You can get almost anything here in the grocery realm. It'll take out at least an hour to go through all the aisles. The organic section is massive. But everything is clean and organized here...even the recycle area. Seriously, it's the most cleanest and technologically advanced recycle area I've ever seen. The prepared foods section is where it can be the most eye-opening. There's a ton of food to choose from. However, the price of the hot bar isn't much lower (maybe even higher) than at a Whole Foods. Plus, none of the food really entices me. The rotisserie chicken is excellent and $5 each (you'll only see that price at membership wholesale places). The $6+ meals are okay, but they can be a little dull. I think they could use some diversity and spice to enhance. I had a pretty good pastrami sandwich, which was nicely made by the employee manning the Kosher section. The sub/sandwich section is probably my favorite, as the bread conjures up nostalgia of Dibella's in Rochester. They give you a lot of meat and veg on the sandwich as well. The soups/chilis are much above supermarket quality. Supermarket sushi is generally an abomination, but the one at Wegs is actually good...for supermarket sushi. It would take forever for me to describe all the prepared food here. The prices for many essentials/basics are great. Milk is about $2 a gallon. Two dollars! Bananas, packaged salads, and some of the other produce are priced below what you'll find elsewhere. Club Pack (bulk) meats are a good value as well. The store brand items are actually as good as many commercial brands, such as Weg's pasta/sauces. There aren't really any sales at Wegs, but the prices for many essentials are pretty low. As much as I love Wegs, I know how they "get you". You'll stock up on essentials like paper towels, dairy products, canned vegetables, etc. Then you'll think you've saved a lot of money and may want to splurge. Well, if you don't have that feeling already, you'll have it by the time you walk around the hypnotic prepared foods area or the enormous cheese area. You'll then spend that $ you saved on pricey imported salami, cheeses, organic items, and baked goods. I'll admit, sometimes I end up buying an overpriced mini fruit tart and justify it by thinking, "Well, at least bananas are 49 cents a pound..." Customer service is one of the strongest parts of Wegs, as it is unrivaled by any other supermarket. It's impeccable here, as it seems like the employees give a crap and actually care. They'll go the extra mile to make sure you get what you need and will talk to you if you need someone to consult with on purchasing. Plus they're friendly, but not sappy friendly that would make you vomit out the Danny's Favorite sandwich you just ate. Every single uninitiated person that I've taken to Wegs has become a believer. So if you're one of those that "don't get it", keep on not getting it. Fewer people I have to contend with as I get to one of the many manned checkout counters, whilst breaking out my Wegmans key card with a Chase-Pitkin logo that still works. read more

Perhaps one of the greatest supermarket to ever exist! Driving back to NY from MA and this was so "conveniently" on they way. I have not stepped foot in a Wegman's in forever since undergrad and had to go back here for nostalgia. The place (like the rest of em) is huge and spacious with tons of registers. The hot foods section is what defines the chain. How can you come here and not get sucked into this area near the entrance? They have their classic 14 inch subs, pizza, wings, pasta, soup, salad, ethnic cuisines... And some of which are buffet style pay per lb. But really the giant subs are the main stars. The grocery selection is huge, never ending aisles on aisles. Side note, THAT BAKERY section is dangerous right next to the hot foods. All the baked goods are look amazing and there's always something for everyone. Price wise, Wegmans stuff is hit or miss depending on sales, but no doubt everyone should visit this chain at least once in their life. read more

I have shopped at this Wegmans location since it opened and have enjoyed shopping here. Today, I encountered my first incident of racism by one of your employees. The incident occurred as I was checking out at register 20 by employee 384825 at 1:16PM. There was a customer in front of me standing at the credit card machine. They still had groceries on the conveyer belt. They stood at the credit card machine while all their groceries were rung up and the checkout girl handed them their receipt. I saw the sign about standing behind the red x's. Which I planned to do after I entered my phone number in the credit machine but when it was my turn the checkout girl asked me to stand behind the line. She didn't even let me push my cart up. She took the cart. Then after she scanned and bagged my groceries in my bags, she stood as far away from me as possible as I paid at the credit card machine. She then would not even hand me my receipt but threw it in one of my bags. At first I was willing to let the girl's behavior go but when she moved away from me and threw the receipt in one of my bags I knew she was being racist towards me because I am Asian. She was assuming I have the Coronavirus or am more likely to spread it because I am Asian. She did not behave in the same manner towards the customer before me nor the customer behind me in line. Many of my fellow Asians have been facing racist behavior by non-Asians since the Coronavirus has been spreading. I expected to face racist behavior myself. Fortunately, this has not been the case. I have shopped at many stores since our state has essentially asked residents to stay at home. I have even been to this same store numerous times. But the incident today at your store has been the only time I've encountered this racist behavior. I am glad I did not have my children with me. I did call customer service after I left and relayed my concerns about the incident. I did not feel as if they cared. I understand the fear about the virus and that perhaps there are more important things to be concerned with at this time. But I still feel that your employee's racist behavior was uncalled for. We should be kind to one another at all times and treat one another as we would like to be treated. It might be helpful to have a talk with your employees about their behavior towards customers. I have enjoyed shopping at your store but after this incident I'm not sure I will continue to shop there. read more

I love coming to this Wegmans,their fruits and vegetables are always fresh and the bakery always smells amazing. I actually like to stop by and get some sushi when i'm in a rush and their sandwiches are also really good and fresh if you're looking to have a quick snack. Cashiers are very friendly and they always make sure you found everything you needed, and if you ask any employee a question about where something might be or if they have it in store they will make sure to find out for you. The bathrooms are clean and the overall place is very organized but depending on what time you go it might be quite crowded. read more

This review pertains to the grocery store NOT THE CAFE (which is awesome). The grocery store portion I find to be a mess. The layout is not intuitive so you'll spend a ton of time looking for items you need. For example, the aisle numbering scheme is extremely frustrating. The aisle numbers are broken in half so you'll hit a new numbered aisle halfway down whichever aisle you're in and the aisles have different items. So if you're looking for pasta, the sign for the aisle that contains pasta may be obscured by the frontmost aisle sign. The grocery layout makes no sense. Tortilla chips are in a different aisle than potato chips. Cat TREATS are in a different aisle than cat FOOD. The olive oil section leaves a lot to be desired and is also in a separate aisle than the pasta. Wegman's brand shredded cheese is in an entirely separate section than say Kraft shredded cheese. Wegman's brand corn tortillas are refrigerated and brand name corn tortillas are not. The employees will also direct you to the more expensive wegman's brand corn tortillas when asked. Conveniently for them, wegman's tortillas and shredded cheese are next to one another. If you want brand name stuff you're on a scavenger hunt now. Their product layout just screams corporate greed. Oh and by the way, the brand name corn tortillas I was looking for contained more tortillas than the Wegman's brand and was cheaper. read more

SOMETHING'S WRONG! Weggies has been my go-to grocery store since they opened their Northboro location. They did a great job throughout the worst of the pandemic, but for the last few months it's been all downhill. Some stockouts need to be expected, even on the downside of a pandemic, but when an entire department is messed up, there's something systemic going on. Let's say I'm grabbing a few things at BJ's across the plaza. I walk by their full milk cases, but knowing Wegmans is my next stop I figure I'll grab milk there. 'Can't count on that anymore. Entire sections of yogurt, milk, and other cooler items are sparsely stocked or completely empty. Sometimes you can see what you want when you look through the glass doors into the stock area. Why not ask someone? Last time I did that, the kid told me it was so crowded back there he couldn't get at it. I know I'd hear all about "supply chain" problems. I'm not buying it. In Produce, they like to stock stuff in the exit aisle. You go by this stuff AFTER you've checked out and are headed for the exit with your full cart. Logic there is questionable. Honestly my all time favorite grocery store, I literally drive out of my way just to go here. This place reminds me of a Whole Foods or Trader Joe's or market basket more high end than a market basket though but prices are just as reasonable. It's a whole new shopping experience, it has a enormous veggie/fruit aisle, cheese and meats section. It literally has its own wine shop, which is glorious. Their food that they make themselves at the store is absolutely amazing, I always find myself coming out with either their sushi platters or soups. They also have an amazing bakery, floral shop and pharmacy. Summary: Definitely recommend Pros: Located in Northborough crossing plaza, convenient location with other shops and also bjs for your shopping convenience Prices are extremely reasonable for the quality Hours are 6 am to 12 am every day, literally the most versatile grocery store hours I've ever seen. Closed at least 10 minutes early. Note: This is the Northborough store; for some reason Yelp listed me as in San Francisco even though I've never lived there. When I pulled up, the car clock said 11:48, plenty of time to grab a couple of items and get through checkout, but all the doors were locked and there weren't any customers visible through the windows. The clock on the outside of the building was 8 minutes fast; I verified that the car clock was correct with my phone and "atomic clock" when I got home. If they are going to close at 11:45, the sign on the building should read "6 AM to 11:45 PM", not "6 AM to 12 PM". In fairness, I should add that the place is not bad when it's open; the staples are cheap but the prepared food is exorbitant. But they should get their hours right. read more

I grew up with Wegmans, so imagine my excitement when I learned they were coming to Mass. I lived at the Avalon Apartments literally in this shopping center and watched this store being built. As a company, I can say that Wegmans is the best grocer in America - hands down. This store only gets 3 stars, and that's only because of my passion and appreciation for the company. Unfortunately, this location has been a bit of a disappointment since it opened - and I really hope someone from Wegmans Corporate (Rochester NY) is paying attention to these distant stores. The produce selection in THIS store is literally the worst I have ever seen in my life. On a constant basis I walk in here after work at 7pm and find the store wiped clean, with no one in sight paying any attention to the problem. They do not replenish the produce regularly during the day - and it seems they wait until after hours to fill anything (yes this store isn't open 24 hours - and most Wegman's are). Any produce they do have out seems like it's a week old, and has been trucked in from who knows where. It's already turning - wilted - and should be thrown out. The quality control in produce is pitiful - I'm sure it's sourced from some local distributor who is really taking advantage of the fact that they don't have corporate oversight close by. On top of that - one of Wegmans strong points is their hot prepared food selection. Again this store has one of the most underwhelming hot food bars of any store I've ever seen. To make it worse, they built this store differently than any other Wegmans - by creating a dining area that no one ever uses - because it's hidden behind a wall in the back of the store. Every other Wegmans has it on a second level - above the store where everyone is shopping. Where does this store shine and why do I keep returning? For starters, they have an amazing staff- with dedicated, friendly employees. Selection of other food that I can't get anywhere else - regional brands, ethnic foods, quality baked goods, which I'm sure come from Wegman's corporate distribution. On top of that, the beer & wine selections is one of the best in the area. If they fixed the laughable produce, I could do all my grocery shopping here. Unfortunately, I'm still stuck going to Wegmans --- and then somewhere else on a weekly basis. Wegmans is my favorite grocery store. Alot of organic options. More variety and bigger than whole foods stores. Certain organic items are cheaper than whole foods. This is one of my favorite wegmans locations along with the one in chestnut hill. Very large parking area and the store is huge inside. A lot of variety in organic options. Having been to both the Natick and the Chestnut Hill location, I'd say this location has the largest selection and the freshest out of the three. It doesn't have the crazy foot traffic problem nor weird layout that the Natick location has. The only thing the Chestnut hill location has over this location is garage parking so you don't have to transport groceries in the rain / snow or have crazy heat cooking your car in the summer. But it is nice to have a Wegmans so far out of the Boston area. read more

I don't know how anyone can possible vote this super market anything less than a 5!! My favorite grocery store to go to. Wegmans is the perfect stop to get all your food and drink needs. First, they have a wide selection of fresh, high quality, prepared foods. I always tend to get the sushi, the family sushi platter is a great deal when you don't feel like cooking. The sushi tastes just as good as what you'd get at a restaurant. They will also make sushi upon your request if you don't see something you want. There's multiple different sides like seaweed salad or dumplings. Another prepared meal is the honey mustard chicken. Its pre-cooked so just heat it up and enjoy! In general there are tons of options, and I'd be surprised if you couldn't find something for the whole family to eat. Next, there seafood, excellent. I've gotten the tuna steaks here which are expensive- but that's everywhere. I've also done the lobsters, which they will cook for you. The oysters as well! The first time I had him shuck them for me. The past three times I've gotten them, I've done all the shucking (practice makes perfect). Each time, all the seafood was fresh. The selection of meat is great as well. My family usually gets the pre-packaged/seasoned teriyaki chicken and beef. All the work is basically done for you so you just need to cook it. As for the vegetables and fruit- this has a greater selection than I've seen at other markets by me. They have a little section that is all "exotic" fruit like dragon fruit, lychee, or star fruit to name a few. The lychee makes me especially happy because I always have trouble getting it unless I go to an Asian market. Now, the alcohol section is decent in size. Great for all your basic wine, beer, and liquor needs. Although the selection is not as great as a liquor store when it comes to variety in beer and wine, the prices are very competitive and its so convenient. I always try to limit the amount of stores during the weekend that I need to go to and wegmens allows for that. Highly recommended for you to check out at least once. Give them a chance!!! read more

What's not to love? The store-brand EVERYTHING is good. Saves me tons of money. My kids love going here because (about to blow up their spot) they get free cheese while we wait at the deli, and they love the train and the rooster (only comes out every 30 minutes which can be heartbreaking). Their pre-made pizza is good and their hot bar is tastier than Whole Foods. Their family-pack items are also a huge money-saver and GENERALLY their employees seem like they are happy. Living in Albany, the Northborough Wegmans is the closest "mega Wegmans" to home and I hate to admit that I find myself here a few times a year. If you have never been to Wegmans, you might think "but it's just a supermarket". No, Wegmans is NOT just a supermarket. It is a heavenly culinary experience giving you Whole Foods quality at Walmart prices. The store brands are amazing and, in some cases, better than the name brand. Staff is always friendly, at this location and every other Wegmans I have visited. The beer and liquor selection here is large. Prepared food is restaurant-quality for a much lower price. Shop at Wegmans once and you'll become addicted. Shop here frequently and you'll experience withdrawal when you can't visit a Wegmans. Why can't every other supermarket be like this? read more

The greatest grocery store of all time. Neat, organized, lively (even at 10PM), so clean, well staffed and incredibly appealing to the eye. There is a wide array of fruits (even tropical) and vegetables kept fresh. The super market is kept looking absolutely divine and well equipped for any sort of shopper. I was so impressed by how neat, well stocked and maintained everything was even at 10pm. My inner OCD self was throwing a party as I walked up and down the isles, I was so happy with this grocery store. I wish I could work here just for the perks that would come with it ;) It truly is a gem and I hope all supermarkets achieve this level of ambiance and presence as Wegmans brings to the table! read more

+ Pros: It was an upscale clean and well-organized grocery store with an awesome selection of craft beers and wine with some complimentary tastings, a good selection of healthy and/or organic products (Chobani Simply 100, Health valley organic no salt added lentil soup, Amy's organic lentil vegetable soup, blue corn tortilla chips made with organic corn, etc.), authentic Spanish delicacies, a pharmacy with friendly associates, extended opening hours, etc. It has been cool you can craft your own six pack of beers like at Trader's Joe. There was a suspended running train near the traiteur pasta section. The check-out was friendly and fast. They bagged all items. You can register to their loyalty program to get some coupons. It was easy and free to park on their private parking lot. - Cons: They carried some innovative, interesting and overpriced products (e.g.: $3 for seven slices of freshly baked 1/2 Marathon bread). Their 'family value pack' under their generic product brand offered prices that were still more expensive than at Walmart (e.g.: penne and spaguetti pasta).
