The store looks nice, and has beautiful decorations, but please please please don't use live animals as decor if you're gonna treat them like objects and not even get the decent treatment of a pet. Those doves have nothing to do but sit on that one perch. they are in dirty cages and i'm sure don't get interaction and any concern for their health or fulfillment in life. Only for decor and attention to the store. It's a bad influence on people because it can show that birds can live like, that and it's acceptable which it is not. As a bird owner of six i know that every animal has its personality and feelings, it's easy to miss it when you don't get to know them and see them as just a bird and not a living feeling creature. I could never imagine my birds being in that situation where life just passes them by without love or fun. There is always room to grow and improve things Thank you for your consideration. read more

If you believe that creatures should be treated kindly, please read this: The shop looked like a tempting one to step into and explore -- until I noticed two bird cages towards the front, one with a sweet little white dove and the other with two cockatiels. The cockatiels' cage was made of chicken wire, which would really be hard on their little feet to grab onto. Also, and worse, the water was green and slimy with bird droppings in it!!! There's no excuse for these birds to not have clean water regularly. The water dish and the food dish were both placed on the floor of the cage, which is not where they should be placed to ensure cleanliness!! I mentioned to the clerks that the water was filthy. Half an hour later, when I stop by and peeked into the window, nothing had been done to change the water. I do not believe this shop should be patronized until these caged birds are treated kindly! read more

I used country flower hutch for my wedding this September. I met with the owner, Kathy in person and spoke with her twice on the phone to finalize my order. My husband and I explicitly conveyed several times in person to her that our colors were deep, dark orange and purple for fall. $1700 dollars later, I got orange, purple, pink, bright red and yellow flowers. At our ceremony site, she dropped off the flowers, bouquet, etc a quarter mile from where I was getting ready and didn't bother to call me to ask where to bring the flowers. When I called Kathy to express my disappointment and request for a 50% refund, she refused, told me I was responsible for not telling her I didn't want and don't like red, yellow, and pink, and them she hung up on my and wouldn't answer her business phone the rest of the afternoon. If a bride says she wants orange and purple, these are her colors. Why would an ethical, professional florist decide to add other colors? I later found out the exact same thing happened to my friend Tina's bride friend. What a waste of $1700 and something I extremely disliked on my wedding day. read more

My daughter had her winter formal and waited to tell me the day of that she needed a corsage. Hgh... I called and spoke to Kathy who is a lifesaver. She told me she could make me one. I came in with my daughters dress so she could match ribbon and get an idea for the flowers, which my daughter wanted all white. Kathy said she would have it done in an hour. I took my daughter to get her hair done and when she was done we went back to pick up the corsage. All I have to say is OMG... It was beyond beautiful. Kathy did an amazing job with my wedding ceremony and reception flowers in June! It was really easy to work with her, and she was very good about communicating and rolling with my unknowns. My "vision" was pretty much orange, local, in-season flowers and she filled in all the details with great artistic flair. We got lots of compliments on my bouquet and the bar arrangements especially. She even knew just what to do with my mother-in-law's corsage when all the details I could get about her dress was that it was "reddish-gray" (?!?). Kathy delivered everything in great shape, and it all lasted through the 100+ degree heat. She also worked really well with everyone else involved in putting the wedding together. I hired country flower hutch for my wedding flowers. I gave several pictures of the exact colors I wanted, creams and blushes. Unfortunately, the blush flowers that came in were bubble gum pink, and completely clashed with our wedding and could not be used. Thus, we were very short on flowers compared to what we ordered, and friends of mine had to scramble all around town buying up any white roses they could find so we could have something on our tables. The wraps on the bouquets were not what I asked for, and again, clashed with the wedding. My bridesmaids came to the rescue and covered the ugly wraps with burlap and lace I had with me. The florist was also very late with the delivery of the flowers, which threw off the photography timeline (very frustrating and stressful for a bride on her wedding day). The bouquet flowers were beautiful however, and the boutonnières turned out nice, so I will give 2 stars for that despite everything else they did wrong. read more

I chose this place for my wedding flowers, BIG MISTAKE!!!!!!!!!!!! I should have relaized how big of a mistake it was when my first choice of flowers were a huge disaster. The owner (YES THE OWNER) was unable to get some flowers to show me a sample arrangement, however she told me they forgot to put them in her order. I did not want to spend $8.00 per flower if I could not see them as well as see an arrangement, so I had to change everything! I made it crystal clear absolutely NO roses of any kind (I hate roses). She heard and understood, plus we agreed to the flowers in the centerpieces therefore there would be no surprises. My centerpieces had ROSES in them, I asked for and chose square vases and she used cylinder for my guest tables, square for my guest book table and head table, therefore I had mixed!!! The cylinder vases she used were the ones I told her I did not like, this is why we picked square but I guess she could care less! Obviously this florist thinks she could just do whatever she wants to save a buck, maybe some time or just make things easier on herself, however this was my wedding day and it was unacceptable! I would not refer her to my worst enemy and will be sure to contact Ironstone Vineyards, where I got married to request the name of her Company to be removed from the referral list.
