Had a wonderful country breakfast this morning in Camarillo. The hostess seated me at a nice booth. Joseph immediately asked me if I would like something to drink and I ordered a nice hot cup of coffee. Gabriel was my server and came shortly after I recieved my coffee and took my order. I ordered the California Omelet with sliced tomatoes and an English muffin. The food came out nice, hot and tasty. The service was fantastic as was the ambiance and of course the food. A good hearty breakfast without all the nonsense. We have always been greeted with a smile and the service is consistent. This place delivers a home cooked meal feel. I've been to Country Harvest (Camarillo location) twice now, once in person and once for takeout and this really is a great little breakfast/lunch spot. I was pretty sad when the last breakfast business here left but thankful that Country Harvest picked up right where the last place left off. I'm also happy to report that this spot is good for both dine in and takeout. Sometimes breakfast foods don't taste great when you get them delivered but thankfully here it's good. The two reasons I like this place is 1. Large menu and 2. Delicious food. Decor and service were fine, very local breakfast cafe vibes. Staff hustling around and were nice but also nothing exceptionally memorable to note. But like I said the food is so good that I am happy to give them 5 stars. I like a good mix of their breakfast and lunch dishes. They have great bacon here and I appreciate when I asked for it more done they did it right. Wasn't burnt but had a nice crisp. Their breakfast plates with hash browns and eggs were also good. My favorite dish here though is the Reuben sandwich! Omg yum! I'll come back time and time again for this dish because they always execute it perfectly. The pastrami is perfection and I love the spicy mayo they add. Of course to be more like a traditional Rueben I get a side of thousand island for dipping and this is definitely my comfort dish. I get a side of large fries and the dish is complete. Meeting friends for brunch on a Monday morning. No problem getting a table either inside or out at 11 AM (we chose inside). Right after we sat down, Johana came by to get our drink orders. My wife just wanted hot water. Johana brought a small pot so she could refill her cup ;herself and keep things hot. Nice touch. I ordered the country skillet ($17). I got it with a plain bagel and cream cheese on the side. The food was quite tasty and the portion size is huge. I ended up bringing almost half home for breakfast the next morning (reheats very well in the microwave). Service remained excellent throughout the meal. Coffee was refilled and kept hot. I really wanted to love this spot! The interior is really cute old school country cafe vibes, well kept clean and welcoming. i was seated right away and my order was taken promptly. Friendly and attentive service! They have specials that are not listed on the menu on a blackboard inside, and i ordered the tri tip omelette from there. I was so excited as i love tri tip and love omelettes so this seemed like the best of both worlds, and it was recommended over the fajita omelette. I was given the heads up that it came with chili on it, but where i am from that means salsa. So i was expecting a chile salsa, to which i agreed and confirmed my order. In my community omelettes with salsa is common. Additionally i was given the option to add onions on the omelette to which I said yes. I also ordered home fries as my side. When my orded arrived it was an omelette with chili beans on it. I normally enjoy chili beans but found this combo to be odd. The flavors did not pair well in my opinion. The tri tip was also not very flavorful and the onions were added on top of the chili beans and were raw. Not that there is anything wrong with raw white onions but on an omellete topped with chili beans, never had that before, it just wasnt very appetizing. I was expecting the onions to be cooked in the omelette. And my home fries had no seasoning on them :( not what i am used to. i will say thay i would like to return and try a different dish. Many of their dishes looked yummy and they have fair prices, i just would not order the tri tip omelette again and would ask for plenty of seasoning on the home fries. read more

The dingy brown exterior of this strip mall probably deters a lot of people from trying this place. If you get past that small obstacle and walk inside, you'll wonder why you've waited so long to go inside. The interior has a cute country diner theme and it is spotless. The breakfast menu doesn't have any unusual items on it, but everything is executed memorably well; as good if not better than the best breakfast places in town. The quality of the food will bring you back for another visit. The chile Colorado omlette had tender, flavorful chunks of meat. Whoever made it clearly knows what they're doing. The breakfast burrito with sausage was perfection. The enchilada sauce was subtly flavored and the eggs and sausage were excellent. The hash browns were crispy, and the coffee was good as well. I had the great privilege of discovering this restaurant on New Year's Day, as I am rather new to Camarillo. In my culture, the first meal of the New Year sets the tone for the year - as in a fulfilling, enjoyable meal means you will have a fulfilling, enjoyable year. I'd like to thank Country Harvest for setting that tone for me with an absolutely delicious breakfast, the charming atmosphere, and the delightful staff - including Gloria, the manager. Everyone there was efficient and I enjoyed hearing one of the employees singing while he worked. Country Harvest not only provided generous portions (I had a hard time eating it all!) and a variety of teas to select from, but the food was cooked to perfection, and the service was top drawer and fast. On top of all that, they gave me a senior discount, which was much appreciated. I had just left Denny's where I had paid for a tea I didn't even get to enjoy, due to being ignored after waiting about 30 minutes for someone to take my order - after they were taking orders for those seated after me and made me aware they knew I was still waiting - but still did not take my order. Then one of the Denny's employees was actually smug about it, saying when I went to the register to pay for the tea, "Hey...it happens sometimes," while grinning as if it was funny. It remains a mystery if he ignored me because I am a senior, I was not of a background he liked, or he didn't think my one meal would give him enough of a tip, but he was unprofessional and he made sure I won't ever return to Denny's. I do thank him, though, because if he hadn't been such a jerk, I wouldn't have gotten frustrated enough to leave and try to find a place where I could have that good first meal of the New Year - at Country Harvest. His rudeness led me to finding Country Harvest and I am not at all surprised that your restaurant was busy on New Year's Day and Denny's wasn't. Been going there for years (before it was Country Harvest) but I usually get take out. Went in today and got my usual (Tom's omelette) and once again it did not disappoint. Food is always good. Only gripe is my server seemed to forget about me but she was helping other servers, it was busy and I was in no rush. The ladies there have always been good to me. And when did sodas cost $4? Probably not their fault as everything is expensive nowadays. All in all this is a great local spot that I will continue to go to. Maybe now I will just stick to take out. I go to the country harvest in Newbury park and the food is always good. I went to the camarillo restaurant a week ago and ordered the ultimate combo and the potato skins were over-cooked and a quarter the size of the ones in NP. I ordered fish and chips today and the fish and chips were disgusting. Not crispy like they should have been but chewy. While I love the wait staff there, something needs to be done with kitchen staff. The food here hasn't been right for several months. I ended up throwing away a $20 lunch which doesn't make me very happy. read more

Great service, decent food and coffee. We finally tried Country Harvest, a new cafe in Camarillo. Heavy on the country theme and some of the best restaurant service I have had in awhile. The food was above average breakfast fair. The coffee was good and they kept our cup full. We ordered a burrito, basic two egg breakfast and kids French toast. The stand out item was the hash browns! Fresh, not greasy and perfectly crisped. My only complaint is the portion was a little small. The burrito is a solid choice and the homemade salsa is tasty. Service is so slow here! I was exited when this place opened in Camarillo so I wouldn't have to make the drive to Newbury. However, everyone I go, we sit without being acknowledge for at least 10 minutes. Then we wait another 25 'minutes for our food to arrive. Service is slow and not friendly. Such a shame. We usually have great service, took my son and his fiancé, but today was totally different. It started out with something simple, our waiter brought orange juice instead of apple and fixed it quickly. We ordered and our waiter got my wife's order wrong. He said he would fix it, the rest of us started with our breakfasts. She waited and waited, he never stopped to check on us, or give us an update on her order, while all the tables were served before her. I asked our waiter where her food was, and told him of my disappointment. He said it would take a few more minutes. I asked for our ticket, which he never brought. As we were at the front checkout, he brought her food in a togo container. ( somehow it was important enough to give it her as we were leaving) We asked to speak with a manager and the gal said he was busy, in which I asked. Why wouldn't he want to talk with upset customers? She had no concerns about what we told her. The food here was delicious. I got the Eggs Benedict & Hash Browns. I asked for the Hash Browns to be well done & they were perfect. Not greasy & perfect in every way. Very tasty & fresh. This is my kids favorite place to go for breakfast so they brought me here & now I know why it's a fave of theirs. Food was amazing. Not so amazing tho was the service. Why the 4 stars & not 5. The waiter gave awful service from forgetting to serve my Sons English muffin with his meal to us sitting with our glasses needing refilling & no waiter around to even ask for a refill. Customer service wasn't a top priority to him but I was told that the waitresses do a much better job & have personalities that my kids enjoy being around. Our usual weekend go-to (Cronies) was closed so we tried Country Harvest - after calling to see if we could bring our small dog. From the start, we felt welcomed by the friendly, professional staff. I decided to try the chicken fried steak. Grace had ham and eggs. We were both impressed by the food quality and the difference careful cooking of comfort makes. Servings were ample but not huge. We both happily ate everything- rare for us as we normally take extra home or leave it. One of the bread choices was a fresh cranberry muffin- so glad I went for that!
