    Chaufa with pork belly

I ordered the chaufa with pork belly. It was really good. I've pork belly was flavorful. The rice also had tomato's and red onions. Overall delicious. Seating: plus size friendly. They have tables and comfortable chairs with no arms.

After picking a random spot, we were not disappointed! The staff is very friendly and seems to work well under the volume of customers. The restaurant was clean and well kept. The lamb was beautifully cooked, with bold flavors, delicious mushrooms and a mashed potato bowl so smooth. My only complaint would be the excessive amount of oil in the bottom of the plate. The steak & eggs were cooked perfectly to order, also with bold flavors. We will definitely be back! 4/5. Will return.

This place is a hidden GEM!! The food is so, so good and the service is impeccable. It's very clean inside and the vibe is so fun. Family friendly but also a great date night or girl dinner place too! We ordered- steak and eggs, a chicken sandwich, and the salmon toast. We also tried the white sangria and it was DELICIOUS! If you haven't tried this place, you're missing out. Love, love, love Azafran and we will be back for sure!!!

Had a wonderful lunch today at Azafran. Gabby was our amazing server assisted by Ellie another wonderful individual. The ambiance is chill and positive and the food delicious. We started with drinks and my wife had the Coconut Lemonade and I had the Herbal Tea. We asked Gabby questions about the menu as this was our first time here and we landed on the Sweet Potato soup. It was scrumptious. For our entrees we both had the Chaufa with chicken, another delicious choice. The food, service and ambiance was stellar. We did not have space for dessert but saw many pass by our table and the mango cheesecake looked out of this world. Great lil place. Highly recommended

You know that happy feeling when leave a restaurant after a wonderful experience? Yes, I found that restaurant right here in Camarillo-- Azafran! Admittedly I was craving steak and eggs, and was curious to know what this Azafran restaurant was all about-- actually my visit was long overdue as I had targeted the restaurant for some weeks to visit -- I wasn't to be disappointed. The drive to the restaurant was easy and parking also, so it kind of sets you up for success when the traffic obstacles are minimized. Upon entering the restaurant you're greeted by a very pleasant floor arrangement with tables nicely spaced, and decorated with utensils, napkins and flowers! The hostess also offered a warm welcome and shared the menu-- even though I had decided probably an hour before what I craved. Even though I wasn't thinking about a pre-meal drink I was also surprised by the coffee offering which was served in a nice press., accompanied by cream and sugar-- enough for 4 servings. The chefs kitchen is close to the seating area although it's out of eye level you can still see them working together to make your food. As you can see from the pictures the steak and eggs are presented in a very clean and enticing manner-- honestly I literally devoured this offering-- who wouldn't! I probably could have consumed a second steak it was that good! One last note, which I found very satisfying and that is there's no rush with the bill here -- you just take your time and savor the moment of the fine food and might I add the equally competitive pricing! Perfect Sunday.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I stopped in to try this place, but I'm glad I finally did. The flavors of the steak and eggs, along with the side sauces that have a slight spice, all had my taste buds celebrating. Even their fresh squeezed orange juice was a perfect pairing for the steak and eggs. My buddy said his ribeye sandwich was amazing too. The place was clean, ambiance was nice and service was friendly. I can't wait to come back and try more menu items. Update: the very next day I came back with the wife. The place was busy, there's only 1 server, but she did a great job in juggling all the tables. This time I true the ribeye sandwich which was another amazing dish. My early valentine date for the Chaufa with chicken which was a cross between a paella and chicken fried rice, also pretty good and a hefty portion. As an appetizer we had pork belly bites which ended up being my favorite. That's this critic's review, until next time, I'll be eating.

This restaurant is absolutely incredible. I cannot believe it has been open for two years and I live so close. I wish I had discovered it sooner because everything was amazing from start to finish. The dessert, the appetizers, the atmosphere, all of it was perfect. I had the paella and it was outstanding, full of flavor and beautifully prepared. We will definitely be coming back. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Do not miss this hidden gem.

Second time here and I'm in love! It's such a peaceful yet vibey space . Service is great and food is phenomenal. We ordered: Smoked salmon is a must have! 5/5 Neapolitan 5/5 I dream about this dish it's so good. Calentado 4/5 It was really good just not my fave next to the Neapolitan and salmon. It's light in flavor so I'd suggest have this first . French press Coffee was coffee but in a press! Herbal tea (in a press too) 5/5

Flavor has hit the streets of Old Town Camarillo. A family owned and operated Colombian and Peruvian fusion restaurant is bringing much needed flavor and tradition to downtown Camarillo. All of my friends have ranted and raved about this spot saying they are a must try! With almost a perfect 5 star rating on Yelp this spot has been on my "need to hurry here" list for a hot minute. Azafran has made a name for themselves and are definitely a favorite amongst locals. The menu is intriguing and there is a perfect mixture of classic breakfast dishes and more unique plates. Staff are friendly and welcoming, it's definitely a family friendly restaurant. Here's what we had: Chicharron Sandwich : This was one of the best sandwiches I've had in a long time! The Chicharrón - pork was extra crispy and flavorful. Perfectly done and I loved the fatty bits. The fresh and pickled veggies gave a lightness to this sandwich and the side spicy mayo aioli-oil drizzle was heavenly. Some papas on the side, this was a filling and delicious dish. I'll be coming back for this again and would HIGHLY recommend. Lox Toast: my friend had a generous portion of Lox Toast which she was super happy with. The portions are generous and the toast also comes with a side of their famous papas or fruit. If you are looking for a more classic breakfast dish here their toasts all sounded fabulous. To drink they have some unique creations. I opted for a Coconut Lemonade which was so refreshing and tasty. My friend had a gorgeous Colombian cold press coffee. We were pleasantly surprised by this restaurant and it definitely was a delicious meal. The food is a 10/10 and the interior is cozy and warm. The staff were very friendly and the pace is very casual and laid-back. This is the kind of place you go for a slow weekend meal with friends and good conversation. Can't wait to come back soon and please give this local small buisness a try.

    Tres Leches Cake

Happened to be in Camarillo today. We decided to try Azafran. First time here. We walked into a very comfortable dining room. It wasn't terribly busy and we were seated immediately. We started with the shrimp taco appetizer. It was very flavorful and you could immediately tell that the shrimp was extremely fresh! I ordered the Pomodoro pasta with Mushroom and Shrimp. My wife asked for the Steak Chaufa. I received the Parpadelle with mushroom and shrimp in. Not exactly what I ordered, but I ate it and loved it. My wife's fried rice with steak was good too. We both could not finish our dishes. They were filling. The topper though was the Trees Leches cake (yes we saved a bit of room for desert). It was moist and had just a touch of sweetness. I prefer it this way, not too sweet. Overall, it was a great find. The server was very nice. The atmosphere was very comfortable. I bookmarked this for a future trip to Camarillo.

This meal was just amazing . We always forget how incredible every meal we have had here is . Tonight we came here and the halibut ceviche it was so fresh . It came with sweet potato smash which seems not right but when you taste this infusion of flavors coconut milk and all the secrets , wow is about all you can say ! The combination of flavors is so unique . I had the duck . That duck was the best I have ever had ! We asked for the owner who is the chef to just say how good it was ! The perfect amount of salt crunch moisture and just the flavors was perfection .i have had duck I make duck ... this duck wins . The service from Elle was good too , she knows the dishes and exactly the region they ate from . The menu offers many options . Something for all but not overwhelming with too many choices . This restaurant is so quaint in our town of Camarillo Thank you

A Camarillo hidden gem -- what an amazing culinary experience. The flavor profile of each dish was incredible, from the perfectly cooked Grilled Octopus, to the uniquely delicious Peruvian Ceviche. I would come back for the Peruvian Ceviche alone, as it was one of the best tasting dishes I've had in a long while. I ordered everything for takeout, but it held up really well. The server who helped me out was very friendly and patient. Although we didn't eat our meal inside, the ambiance was very warm and welcoming, with nice decor. Next time, we'll definitely have to eat there. We tried the Peruvian Ceviche, Shrimp Tacos, Grilled Octopus, Chow Plate with Pork Belly, and I got a Coconut Lemonade to top it off. Everything was exceptional, and I can't wait to try more items off the menu next time we visit.

I don't think there's a bad seat in the house, but we always love to sit outside so that we have a really good view of the aircraft coming and going. I tried the BLT and, oh my!!! One of the best I've had, with lots of thick cut bacon, very crisp, lots of lettuce, tomato and mayo (I ordered it as-is). Half was the size of a regular sandwich so the other half went home with me! RRR ordered the triple decker club on sourdough and loved his as well. Half of his went home also. We both got the cole slaw as our side which has a little pineapple in it. I found it ok, RRR really liked it. We shared a special milkshake, pistachio, and it was heavenly, highly recommended. Service was perfect, there when needed but not overbearing. We so appreciate well-trained staff! Highly recommended.

Dear Hubby and I have been to Waypoint Cafe a few times over the years. Because of how popular…read morethey are, it's not somewhere we try to go to on a weekend. Today we had to be out of the house due to Edison maintenance in your neighborhood. We were originally headed for Ojai, but we were hungry and didn't want to wait that long to get food. I suggested Waypoint since it was a weekday and hopefully wouldn't be that crowded. We hit them just before a lunch rush came along about 30 minutes later. it's probably been a while, but their ordering procedure has changed since the last time we were there. Now you enter, go to the host stand, and order and pay there. Then they give you a number for your order and a host takes you out to a table. It's a variation on fast casual. The idea is that they will start cooking your food as soon as you pay, and the process will flow smoothly from there. They have a lot of runners bringing out the food, and offering additional condiments or other things you might need, like more water or napkins. There are several reasons that I'm downgrading the rating from a previous visit. $18 for a plain Belgian waffle? No fruit, garnish, whipped cream, just melted butter and a very small amount of syrup. It looked more substantial because we added eggs and bacon for $3 more. The latter seems like a good deal, because the eggs were well prepared. Only two slices of bacon, though. DH and I split the plate. $21 for a plain waffle, scrambled eggs, and two pieces of bacon does seem excessive. We added a side of hash browns, which were plentiful, but were also oily. I don't remember having hash browns in another restaurant which were that greasy, so that was a fail. $9 for two cups of decaf coffee? That also seemed on the high side, especially when a tiny (and I do mean tiny!) addition of oat milk for creamer was $1.50. Really? And yet, they offered mini portions of hazelnut or French vanilla creamer for free. But we didn't know that ahead of time. A large glass of lukewarm pineapple juice was $6. I had to ask for a glass of ice cubes to be able to chill the juice down to where it tasted good. By the way, the waffle was slightly overcooked for my preference, making it more crunchy than I enjoy. Overall, it was $50 for a breakfast that DH and I split, just adding the hash browns and juice to stretch the meal. Service was good. It was the kitchen that let down the team. Also, ambiance-wise, the airport has added a large row of hangars to the northwest of the restaurant, which dramatically cuts down the view of the planes taking off and landing. That's actually another fail for the appeal of dining here. It's likely going to be a while before we return. Sad to report today's experience, but that's what it turned out to be - not the lovely little secret getaway of the past.
