We have only come here 3 times in the last few years but it's actually a very worthy restaurant for breakfast, brunch or lunch. I don't think there's a bad seat in the house, but we always love to sit outside so that we have a really good view of the aircraft coming and going. I tried the BLT and, oh my!!! One of the best I've had, with lots of thick cut bacon, very crisp, lots of lettuce, tomato and mayo (I ordered it as-is). Half was the size of a regular sandwich so the other half went home with me! RRR ordered the triple decker club on sourdough and loved his as well. Half of his went home also. We both got the cole slaw as our side which has a little pineapple in it. I went here on a Friday and there was a line outside. It was not that long because it was based on who orders faster. It gives you time to figure out what to order because you need to order up front. The service was nice and our waiter was friendly. It seems like they increased the price of the milkshake once again, but it was still the same size and really good. Last time, I ordered their burger and it was really small. So this time I ordered a sandwich and I was not disappointed as this one was a decent size. It was really tasty, but I wish they also added a pickle on the side of the sandwiches too. Their salads are also really good along with the bread that comes with it. A family affair To sum up the weekend, we gathered here. At the private hangar entrance for the Camarillo airport with an active runway 20 embarked on the breakfast experience. We left happy. A line, a short wait and get it in. Marcello managed drums ie coffee, mimosa's, apple juice and espresso and latte's. The fun began in the waiting. I had the chicken and waffles here. It was absolutely the best batch of chicken and waffles I have ever had. So crispy and the extra butter merged well with the chicken which made it very juicy. I highly recommend this order for when you go. In addition the service was efficient and easy. Ordering at the entrance and getting your seat after makes things operate smoothly. Our hostess, Alma, was so kind and accommodating when our party of 4 were separated and only my wife and I were present( no reservations taken). She had us sit in a comfortable patio outside , with coffee and water. The attraction of this cafe' is it's on the Camarillo Airport landing zone. People stay all day watching many kinds of aircraft arrive and depart. When our friends arrived , Alma, put us to the front of the line to order and then showed us our patio table. Waypoint has become our annual tradition for Thanksgiving break week. Since my son is old enough now to also enjoy the planes viewing area, we knew we'd have a great breakfast experience. We got there right before a major rush so we got seated right away and had the choice to pick from inside and outside. It was a great day so we sat outside. The patio area was so nice and we got to see the planes and the county helicopter takeoff and land. The service was great! It was very busy that day and our food still came out in a great time. They have a little bit of everything. You'll for sure find something for everyone. First off I guess I should've read more about this restaurant. It was near an airport kind of out-of-the-way. I didn't know you had to get in line and then order when you got to the front of the line. So someone came out and gave me a menu and I finally got in line with my husband. Ashlie was our server but basically she brought out our food and our coffee. My husband and I both had coffee and I love the mugs and the coffee was pretty good. They even had the raw sugar we like. I had a Carnitas omelette with fruit and wheat toast. The omelette was pretty good, the fruit I would've liked some blueberries or something else. It had a lot of pineapple. Love the wheat toast. My husband had ham and eggs with hashbrowns. Hashbrowns were your typical he said the ham steak wasn't as good as some other places. They did come around and made sure we had coffee and water. I was in Camarillo for the weekend visiting some relatives. My aunt was keen on taking us to Waypoint Cafe for breakfast! We showed up early and waited in line for a few minutes before opening time. Whilst waiting, we looked at the menu so we'd be ready to order. Ordering is done up front then you are seated. I opted for the cinnamon roll and a guava mimosa. After sitting, it was only a few short minutes before all of the food was brought out. The mimosa was a generous portion and very delicious. I thought it had a good ratio of juice to champagne. The French toast was very good! It was sweet and rich but not too much. My family and I didn't speak much since we were very much enjoying our food. The style of the restaurant is very efficient but I never felt rushed. It's down to business with eating and seating but everyone was very helpful and kind. Overall, I had a good time at Waypoint! I LOVE Waypoint cafe! I've taken many friends and family members to this place over the years and it never disappoints! The Sunday rush can be kind of crazy so get there early to beat the lines. When we got there, we waited in line less than 10 minutes before our orders were taken at the front desk before being taken to our table. We got a nice table outside with a great view of the runway. I love how the restaurant is decorated and how there's even a miniature runway in the back for the kids to play in. We are so impressed by the service too! My favorite dish is definitely the lemon ricotta pancakes. I told my friends that they're light and fluffy and perfect. Although they were put off by the idea of cheese in pancakes, they both agreed they were the perfect balance. Also, the pancakes are HUGE and you get three! It's definitely worth it. My friend ordered the banana nut waffles and they were delicious too! I liked how crispy and crunchy the outside was while still being tender and soft inside. Overall, we will definitely be back! My family has been coming to Waypoint for years and we've loved all their phases! Food is always what you expect, huge portions, fast services and obviously the Cam Airport view you can't beat! Do I love the switch from getting full service to now ordering at the host stand and then as you sit down your food is already at the table? Once we made it to the door, one of the staff members sat us and then called a waitress over to take our order and we paid upfront. I asked the waitress if we could be on separate checks. She said yes and then left for a moment and came back. She had just split the check 50/50 which wasn't exactly right considering I had ordered a bowl of oatmeal that was $12 and my friend ordered a full breakfast plate that was $21.50. So I am subtracting a star for that. The service was quick and we had received our food within 8-10 minutes of ordering. I had ordered one of the most impressive bowls of oatmeal i have ever had at a restaurant. And actually it is probably the first bowl I have ever ordered at a restaurant. It was steel cut oats with craisins, nuts, cinnamon and banana. They also served a tiny amount of milk, brown sugar and raisins with it. I really enjoyed it. We did have the wait staff check-in with us a few times and they refilled our waters. The chicken fried steak was good I wouldn't say the best I ever had but delicious nevertheless. Now for the adults, you'll enjoy a full menu including breakfast served all day, burgers, tri-tip sandwiches, salads and desserts. Waypoint Cafe provides such a unique dining experience that I've never had anywhere else. Situated in the Camarillo Airport, the restaurant provides close up views of the planes taking off and landing on the runway. There are two outdoor seating areas, one of which is a lot closer to the planes than the other section which is connected to the restaurant and has patio shade. The area closer to the planes is occasionally loud when the planes come by to park but it's not common. The runway is quite a bit away from the seating area. The food is alright. Good but nothing too special. We got the Pastrami sandwich, Chicken and biscuits, and Alma milkshake. Milkshake was top notch!! Loved that it came with the classic metal refill container too with some extras :) Pastrami sandwich was solid. We got it on sourdough instead or rye and that was a huge plus. Only mistake was that we asked for fries for our side and it came with potato salad instead; this problem was quickly fixed by the very attentive servers. Also we asked for mustard on the side instead of in the sandwich; I think they missed this note as well but I didn't wanna complain about something so minor. The chicken and biscuits was alright for us. The biscuit was fluffy, but we thought it was too dry with honestly not enough gravy. The chicken was very yummy though. We ended up not finishing the biscuit. Large portions though!! Overall, despite the food, I still had such a great time here, being able to sit outside and watch the plans fly out. Once in the front of the line, you place your order and pay before being seated. The line does move fairly quickly, we waited no more than about 20 minutes. Also, you get an option of inside or outside seating. We sat inside just because we were ready to eat (lol). Inside was nice and you can still see outside. Outside was the view of the Camarillo airport which is a small commercial airport located right outside of the restaurant. The food was delicious! I couldn't decide between the pancakes, French toast, or breakfast sandwich. I couldn't make a decision so I let the waiter decide. The breakfast was fresh, hot, and delicious. In addition to breakfast, I choose the tropical mimosa. The tropical mimosa was pineapple. Orange juice and cranberry juice mixed with champagne. The food arrived about 10 minutes after being seated and the drinks arrived within a few minutes of being seated. Everything was great from the food to the views and customer service. The only reason I took a star away is the policy of the server asking to close the bill right after ordering. This doesn't make sense since a tip is requested before any service or food has even been received! You are given the option not to close out but we didn't understand this at first.
