You can immediately tell when the team is friendly, happy, and professional--everyone at Good Morning Café was exactly that. Our server, Sara--who's been there for 10 years--was outstanding. The dishes were exactly what you hope for in a family-owned café--delicious and comforting. There's ample seating, with booths, tables, and even space for larger groups. Hubby ordered corned beef hash and eggs and that was a bit salty for me. Our coffee gets refilled quite often. There was a crowd outside the resto when we left around 11:30 am. I wanted to love this place. We were seated immediately and had our hot coffee and water asap. The free mini muffins are SOOOO GOOOD. For me, that was the highlight of our meal. It took a while for someone to take our order but they could've been understaffed. We ordered the cinnamon roll, seafood benefit, and patty melt. The cinnamon roll came out first. It's a soft yeasty cinnamon roll with a large spoon food of butter on the center. I thought it was pretty good but not the best cinnamon roll I've had. The cinnamon and frosting get lost in all the butter, however my husband enjoyed it. My seafood Benedict was alright. I choose fruit as my side. The fruits was fresh. The Benedict sauce was light and good, bit did not taste like other Benedict sauces I've had. It was a 6/7. The patty melt was awful and ruined the experience. The bread was hard, not enough sauce, not enough onions, and had a thick burnt patty. We asked for it to be cooked medium and It was over cooked. The patty stunk and tasted dirty, like it was cooked on a grill that hasn't been cleaned in a long time. Fries were good. Really nice staff. Went to a car meet in town. Looked for a good place to eat and I stumbled onto this gem. We walked in and loved the old town cafe vibe. We sat down in a packed house at about 10:30 on Saturday. I got coffee and water and I ordered the steak and eggs! My son got the ham and eggs. Waited a short 10-15 mins and our food arrived fresh and hot. The taste and value for the money was wonderful. Finally after 10 mins the waitress came and asked if we wanted mini muffins, we said yes please. We also ordered a cinnamon roll (delicious btw). But we never got the muffins. Finally ordered and it took 30 mins to get our food. It was ridiculous! She dropped our food off and didn't come back. I needed ketchup and my son needed salsa for his burrito. I saw the gentleman getting drinks for someone else and asked him. I ordered a club sandwich and it was awful!!! My turkey was dry and tasted spoiled. Out of my 4 sliced sandwich I ate less than 1. I asked for a box, wasn't going to waste that food, my dog will love it! She never came back with a box and again I flagged the man down and asked for a box and he brought it. I have been here before and have had wonderful experiences, but today, Thursday, March 12th, 2026, I was met immediately, with ehat I would call annoyance at my presence, when I walked through the door. I walked in shortly after another party of two did, maybe three minutes or so, who were sitting at a table as I was walking up to the door. I walk in and the server, an older woman, glasses, mid 5ft tall, asks how many, I say, "Just me." And she continues walking and asks if I want coffee, I decline, and ask for a water. She is by the coffee machine (presumably for the other party) and I ask "Sit anywhere?" And she says yes. I pick my spot, a booth, and tell her, "I'm, going to sit here. But I need to use the restroom." She looked to see my selection and said OK. She asked if I wanted the complimentary muffins and I said, "Yes, thank you." I go to the restroom and wash up, and when I come out there is a menu on the table I picked, so I go sit and already know what I am ordering (I ordered my meal mentally online before I came to sit down). ​​She comes with the muffins and I say, "Thank you, I am ready to order." She says, "oh, well they (the other party) are ready to order so..." and I say, "Ok that's fine." And she goes to take their order. I am sitting 6ft from their table. She then leaves, instead of coming to also take my order, and goes to place their order, also not finished as one of the party had not yet made their selection and ask for more time. She then comes back to my table and while walking back says, "I'll get your water after I place your order." I looked at her and said, "That's OK, I think I'm done here." She went to my table THREE times without a water, when before the first time she was right next to the water while getting coffees for another table, before saying she will bring water on her FOURTH trip to my table. The RUDEST serving experience I have ever had in any restaurant in the nearly 30 decades of paying for my bill on my own.​ I am ONLY giving this 2* because I know the food is good. I should have suspected something was off when there was no wait on a Sunday during prime time. The service was very slow, even though they were not at capacity and the food arrived cold after the long wait. They overcooked the eggs, pretty much burnt them on one side and served them anyway. Good Morning Cafe is all of the nostalgia of sitting down at your grandparents house for a weekend breakfast as a kid. The interior is sweet and cozy, feels very old timey in a good way. The clientele on the weekdays is definitely seniors at breakfast hour but again it's part of the charm and the idea if something isn't broken don't fix it. I trust any place the seniors eat because that means it's a good price, classic flavors, and good service. Good morning cafe definitely hits all of the marks I noted above. Since they are located in a shopping center it was easy to find but I also appreciated that it's away from the Main Street and traffic. Very quiet and comfortable on the side of the center they are located on. There was plenty of parking to be found. The interior is typical breakfast cafe, no frills but comfortable and clean. Definitely inviting. I liked that they page homage to Camarillo with different signs and artwork dating back many years. My server was Sarah and she was super lovely. Attentive and quick to ensure you are taken care of. She was very nice and kind. I appreciate that if you are in a rush she gets you in and out but for those eating more leisurely she didn't rush anyone at all. I was in for a quick bite so I appreciated her hustle. Staff are nice here and service was definitely 5 stars and personable from start to finish. The food here is really comforting and delicious. While it's a down hometown type cafe don't let the vibes fool you. This spot can compete with many of the diners and cafes nearby. I had the breakfast plate and it was a solid 4/5. The only bite I didn't love were the hash browns as they were under cooked. However, the sausage was super flavorful and a good size. I most appreciated that they made a good soft scrambled egg which a lot of places struggle with. Not here they got it just right. Their bread for toast was also fantastic and fluffy. Maybe I don't eat a lot of toast but it was delicious and of course had a generous bit of butter on it. A super solid breakfast and had my hash browns been better and easy 5 stars. Another dish that is exceptional here is their cinnamon roll. Omg! It's huge and melty gooey perfection (also buttery lol). They like their butter. But seriously it's fanatic as a sharable dessert or if you have a sweet tooth early I've seen plenty of people on yelp ordering it for breakfast. It's really that good and unlike any cinnamon buns around. Get it! Treat yo self. Prices were definitely reasonable for the portions and quality. They are a small local business and I'd definitely rather come here than bigger chains or breakfast fast food spots. There is nothing better than going out to a restaurant and getting great food and service and that's exactly what we got at Good Morning Cafe. It was our first time there and our waitress made us feel welcomed and well taken care of. This is a family-owned restaurant and the owner takes great pride in providing delicious food and excellent customer service. The food, I already had an idea of what I wanted, but when I asked the waitress for a recommendation, she recommended the chili verde, it's what I already wanted so yes I went for it. It was incredibly delicious! She also suggested I get the eggs as an omelet with country potatoes cooked well (did I mention amazing service). The omelet was in the style of a French omelet, topped with the chili verde...it was fantastic!!! We also ordered the corned beef hash and the pancakes and both were equally great.
