I would rank them even lower than one star if I could. My family was evacuated due to the fires on Chehalem mountain on the evening of 9/7, and on Wednesday 9/8, we took our five cats to Country Kitty, we didn't know when we would be able to return home safely. Jack assured us that they would be safe and taken care of, and my family went to our respective hotels and to work. On the morning of 9/9, my partner received a phone call from Country Kitty, so I called them back to find out what was happening. I was informed that one of our cats had escaped and was nowhere to be found. They had placed three intact-clawed cats in an enclosure with only a screen door between them and their "inescapable" outdoor run and then left them there without checking on them for at least 16 hours. Jack informed us he had checked on them at 4pm on Wednesday, only four hours after I dropped them off, and then did not look in on them again until the morning. The phone call came in around 9am on Thursday. I sent my parents to pick up the remaining four cats. Three of the cats, including the missing one, are theirs, and two are mine. The missing cat belongs to my father, who is absolutely devastated by this. When they arrived, understandably upset by the situation, instead of giving them an apology, Jack began complaining about the damage to the screen door. One single live trap was set in the yard behind the enclosure the cats were in. My partner and I returned to Country Kitty today with some of my father's worn clothing to bait live traps, and again Jack met us with nothing but rudeness and attitude. It took nearly an hour of argument for him to agree to purchase more live traps to set around the property. We came to Country Kitty in a crisis and trusted them to care for our animals, who to us are as important as human family members. A screen door is completely inadequate as a barrier to keep clawed cats indoors, and he also had been planning to let my indoor-only cats out into the outdoor run that has no top enclosure without informing or asking me if that was okay. The outdoor run has no top covering, and the only means of keeping cats from jumping out is that the top of the fence is folded back in towards the center of the enclosure. However, in the middle of the run within easy jumping distance of the folded back part of the fence, is a tall climbing structure, which is obviously how our cat got out. Also, in the middle of a crisis where there are active fires and smoke everywhere outdoors, one would think that taking all precautions to keep animals inside would be at the forefront of a boarding service's policies. And even with all of this notwithstanding, not checking on the animals for SIXTEEN HOURS is completely unacceptable. Do not take your cats here. Ever. read more

This place is the worst! I called them to set up my kitties due to being evacuated due to fire! No only were they rude they couldn't even give me the correct pricing on taking my kitties. (hidden charges) I went to tour the place anyway. They say no cages but you have a chain link fence between your kitty and other Kitties. I have a baby not old enough for shots and can not have contact with other cats. Cats can catch Covid. They can not pass it to humans but I love my cat and would be very devastated id my kitty were to contracts Covid. You would think when they said cage free there would be plexiglass to protect our beloved babies... I have a kitty that needs medication. I was asked why my kitty needed the med she is on and made to feel bad due to the medication my kitty takes. (Prozac) I have had many cats. Some times your kitty needs extra help. These meds have helped her alot. I would never take my babies there. These are my babies, Not just cats!! They lost a friend's cat that was boarded there due to fire evacution after not checking on him for 16 hours. They have been nothing but hostile with the owners in their efforts to relocate the cat. Do not trust Country Kitty Kondo with the safety of your cats. read more

Always reliable & run by a cat-lover, Country Kitty is my go-to place when I need to board my cat for any length of time. Cookie, the owner, is wonderful, always remembers my husband and me, and loves cats. Cookie goes the extra mile to make sure my cat is comfortable by, for example, letting her go on walk-abouts and providing blankets, baskets and scratching posts. She also takes the time to send me emails while I am away to let me know how my cat is doing. Country Kitty has large boarding areas for one or multiple cats, and even has a safe enclosed area for cats that enjoy the outdoors. Unprofessional. Had trouble following simple feeding instructions. Cat lost a significant amount of weight during stay. Awful customer service, owner once ranted and raved at me on the phone about how she wasn't effectively managing her own employees, like that was somehow an acceptable excuse.... This came after she lost my cat's container and one of her employees ensured me they had it and that it would be returned by mail. At every turn her employees would tell me one thing and she would tell me another. There is obviously a startling lack of communication going on in this business. read more

I have boarded my two Tuxedos with Cookie for various periods in the past 6 years. She and her staff have ALWAYS been there for us providing exceptional service.
