If you're ever in Yerington you must go this place. It's small but comfortable. The food was great. I had the double bacon Cheese burger with onion rings. The patties were seasoned perfectly and cook perfectly and large patties. On my burger list I put them in my top 5 that i Have had. Price was also reasonable. My wife had one half chefs salad. It was also large. The meat was very flavorful. The owners are nice and friendly. So I highly recommend this place. Next time I'll try the breakfast. read more

When you get out of your car, you can smell the wonderful food. They ran out of biscuits, so, I changed my order to pancakes. They were thick and delicious. My friend ordered, French toast, they use Texas toast. He said, best breakfast ever. His sausage was two big pieces, not small links. The waitress was so sweet. Bathrooms were clean. I literally cannot recommend this place enough! We stopped in for breakfast on our road trip and were treated like old friends when we entered this adorable little restaurant. Honestly, everyone should make the treck to stop here. We split the chicken fried steak and eggs which were all cooked and seasoned perfectly. My step son got the French toast and honestly we all loved it! The pancake batter was seriously so good and it inspired us to dip our French toast in pancake batter when we got home! This is the one of the best hometown foodies I've ever had in a long time. The over medium eggs were the most perfect cooked almost thick and not running. The chef is magic and right on Q and takes her time because she's making it with heart,love & soul. Local people were very friendly and nice. Lots of farmers and ranchers. Still a fantastic place to eat. Even during all this Covid-19 madness! They've added benches outside in the parking lot to accommodate more people and have also added seating in the lobby area outside the dining room. Inside the dining area every other table is sectioned off in order to uphold the social distancing requirement. Staff are wearing masks and customers (peer the Governors order) are required to wear one upon walking in and leaving. Despite all this, they haven't lost a step. Service is still the best and they're still serving up delicious food! Come here for breakfast or lunch and support a local business at a time when it's most needed! read more

No, really 5 stars! Where is it? Off the beaten path! Ok it is just off the road outside of town but looks like a small store. What is so great? Just the food, selection, service, deserts and atmosphere. Mostly comfort food but lots of choices. Reasonable prices and in worth the drive outside of "Downtown Yerington" I think they had some healthy choices, but it was a big thick melty fresh sliced ham and cheese with deep fried tater tots for me! There was a open faced turkey plate, a great looking cheeseburger also with tots, a french dip with curly fries, and a chicken breast sandwich with waffle fries at the table, and we all left full and with a smile that only a great meal can make. read more

This is a solid small town diner with basic food, friendly service, good prices, and a cute no frills atmosphere. I debated between three and four stars. I decided to bump it up to four as there are not a whole lot of options in Yerington and this is a really good option. Besides, if I average mine and Robert V's (my significant other) it comes out to a 3.5 which I think is about right. It is conveniently located East of Yerington on 95-A and is a great option for picking up a bite to eat if on your way from Reno to Las Vegas. There is also a small convenience store for picking up supplies for the trip through the wilds of Nevada I had the BLT and potato salad for lunch. The lettuce and tomato were very fresh with the tomato succulent and the lettuce crispy. The bacon was very good, but was chopped more like bacon bits for on a salad than strips which are more common on a sandwich. Made it a little messy to eat, but the bacon was very crispy and flavorful. There was also just the right amount of mayonnaise on the bread to moisten the lightly toasted whole wheat. Yes, I had a choice of bread. The potato salad was very much house made and was a little land, but otherwise, most satisfying with large chunks of real potatoes, mayo and just enough celery to give it crunch. Service was friendly, but a little slow. Just one person was working the dining room. The three of us were able to have a very generous and tasty lunch for $30. I would recommend stopping here if you are in the area and in need of a basic no frills bite to eat. read more

Yerrington doesn't have much to offer when it comes to food but this place they do. It's the definition of old school American. It's a small mom and pop type spot which probably hasn't changed in decades. They service is very polite but the food from the kitchen on a Saturday morning isn't the quickest (over 30 min) but it's well worth the wait because it's made right. Love everything about this place it's the best and more their hours are much better open later and that's what I been wanting for them to do for a while because they were closed early at 130pm always and I never could get there by that time as much as would have liked to before so that was the only thing about the entire place I could say negatively at all is that it was closed to early . And now it's nothing negative to say about it at all. I'm happy. The service is perfect the prices are reasonable the portions are big and healthy and you get what you pay for everything it's so worth it to eat there. It's clean and well kept food is amazing in taste wise. It's welcoming and comfortable and I have never had a bad outcome in choosing to go there yet. It's just great place for great food. Plus it's within walking distance from my house so that's my big plus to go I don't have to wait for my husband to take me I can go on my own . Nice! I went if for lunch and I ordered the chicken strip meal. It came with fries. I also had a pepsi. The locals seem to like this place....as that seemed to be the clientele. Of course, being in a store as this restaurant is and on the main drag between Yerington and Hawthorne I imagine a lot of travelers end up here, as was my case. The food was nice and hot, and plentiful. I paid over ten bucks for my meal, and that's fair. They are a little on the spendy side, but having eaten here once before I knew that was coming. The breakdown: Service: Very good. Staff are friendly and prompt. You ask for something you're not going to wait long for it. The average time (in my experience) you wait for your food to arrive is around 15 minutes (not bad at all). Atmosphere: Very small dining space, but that's part of its charm. Very "country" themed. It fits the locale it's located in pretty well. They have a small store located in the back (seperate room, same building) where you can grab most gas station type drinks/snacks after you eat if you're heading through. Food: Good, home style food. Delicious. Big portions. For my wife and I, it isn't possible to leave there hungry. Even in the slightest. I can't speak on their lunch menu as I always go there for breakfast. Price: I feel it's a reasonable price. The food tastes fresh, that's important to me. Can't stand restaurants who use processed, frozen foods and charge high prices. I usually get the French Toast w/ eggs, bacon, hash, and a glass of OJ and spend roughly $7-8. Pretty reasonable to me. Overall: It is a bit of an effort getting there as it's located on the outskirts of town, but it's well worth it. Friendly people and good food. So my first time there, with my two year old daughter. The food was great, but after I'd cleaned off the highchair and put my food away, my daughter began her usually pre nap tantrum. She cried and yelled some and I was trying to sooth her while my friend, who invited us with her to eat, paid. Well, after some time, a waitress comes up to me and asks me to leave. I'm confused so I ask why. She says that I'm disturbing all the customers so we had to leave or sit outside the restaurant in some provided chairs. I didn't agrue or agree, but was more embarrassed, so I went and took my daughter out. She finally crashed, but when going to a praised family restaurant, I expected nice people who are family friendly but instead felt disrespected and humiliated. Don't go here if you have children. My five stars is based on a comparison with other diners/country cafes. I've had a half dozen breakfasts that were all extremely well prepared. My one lunch was a Philly Steak Sandwich. These are risky to order because many places serve beef that is between well done and nuclear well done. Mine came with medium-rare, pink beef that was very tasty. The onions, mushrooms, and different colored bell pepper bits were sautéed enough to be tender but not mushy. One of the best Phillys I've had. Choices are your basic menu items at a small town cafe, BUT the taste and quality is delicious!!!
