This is exactly what Yerington needed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's the cutest coffee shop, even has a meeting room, kids toys and charging station for your dying phone.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The drinks themselves as the absolute best. Waay better than Starbucks. All of my co-workers are obsessed with Hometown Coffee.

This is definitely in the category of a hidden gem!…read more YTA (Yerington Theater for the Arts) manages this amazing old building that serves as the cultural center for the small farming community of Yerington. Inside this refurbished old grammar school is an amazing little cafe operated by YTA. I used to come to the cafe when I lived in Yerington and it was under different management. I am so happy to see that the Cafe has been revived under the capable management of Roy Enochson, the Executive Director of YTA. A friend and I decided to have lunch here recently. The Cafe is in the lobby area of the Theater and serves as a place to eat, an art gallery and a boutique for all sorts of arts and crafts most of which are locally made. The space is a bit like being in a favorite Auntie's parlor with little tables, comfy chairs and a visual cornucopia of treasures. My friend ordered the lunch special - butternut squash ravioli with a side salad. I ordered the Cafe Signature Salad - a lovely fresh blend of baby greens, apples, cheese, cranberries, candied walnuts all lightly dressed with a white balsamic vinaigrette. I also had a blood orange Italian Soda. The food was all tasty and fresh. Service was vey friendly, but the food was slow coming out. It was worth the wait. Our total bill for the two of us was under $20. While the portions were not huge, the meal was satisfying and the quality was excellent. This is a definite place to stop if you are in the area. It is a fabulous alternative to the fast food and casino coffee shops that are in the area.

The have freshly prepared paninis, smoothies, salads, and an assortment of sandwiches. I believe they also do daily specials of dishes that are not typically on the menu. Not many know this place has a Cafe inside, so you'll typically, especially during lunch, be able to sit and eat in relative peace. Which is a nice change of pace from other, full-fledge restaurants.

Both sausage biscuits were Luke warm and clearly sat longer than they should have. Biscuits were slightly hard...old maybe and sausage tasted old. We always stop here..but those days are over... This McDonald's location has always been the slowest fast food restaurant I've been to. The food is…read morealmost always just barely warm. Your order is either wrong entirely, example: you order three cheese burgers two of them you asked for NO pickles but ALL THREE have NO pickles. Or I've been given someone else's order. As most customers do I would assume, is they keep on going because most people are in drive thru so they get it QUICK and go. And the sweet tea! Anytime I've ordered it, it is either not sweet (which I don't mind) or it tastes nasty like they need to clean our their tea dispenser or something! And by the way you don't stick NEW EMPLOYEES on drive thru!! I would know this because I have worked at McDonald's twice before in my lifetime. IT'S NOT THAT HARD PEOPLE!!! And this part of my complaint applies to both this McDonald's location and McDonald's corporation overall. This morning 10/06/2025 I go through drive through and ordered a bacon cheese mcgriddle meal with a medium iced coffee. I get it and the drink, I'm like damn that's small I thought I ordered a medium. I look and see the yellow square with S fountain, teas, iced coffee and then it had the order sticker on it. I'm like what the heck I thought I said medium? So I park and go inside and was approached right away by Cecelia, which was nice, I just asked her confused "I thought I ordered a medium, this is small?" INSTANTLY I get attitude and she peels back the sticker and points at the white box with the M. I'm complaining because there was no reason to be so rude right off the bat, customer service no?? And also complaining in general because what the heck with the cup sizes? Why does it matter what type of drink you put in the cup they all measure the same! Waste of money.

The inside of the store was pretty empty, as far as people go. As we were looking around we see items on a tray individually wrapped and thawing out, notice wrappers all over the floors, trash is dirty, the self serve area for sugar and cream was dirty, the tables were dirty, the store was just dirty. Our order was simple, with customizations, still simple. Venti vanilla latte extra hot, add toasted coconut syrup. Chai tea, extra hot no classic add toasted coconut syrup. The order came, decently quick and was wrong. The drink was barely warm and was missing toasted coconut syrup and was made with coconut milk. Simple fix. We stepped outside and enjoyed the outdoor seating. A few moments later, my son appeared out of nowhere and walked up on us. We forgot he had our location and joined us. He asked us what we thought of this Starbucks and asked for an honest opinion. I stated what I stated above. I interrupted and asked him if he wanted a cup of coffee before heading back to work. "Mom I don't have it in me to wait 30-45 minutes to get my drink and it'll be wrong anyways, where I'm going there's a Starbucks there, I'll grab my drink, thank you though," was his reply. Fell inline with what we were thinking for our mid day cup. We carried on an entire conversation about how this is the MOST STAFFED and THE DIRTIEST SB we had all ever seen! It was shocking. Drink was fixed, we carried on with our day, but decided to skip coffee there the next morning and drove to Reno to get our coffee instead since we were heading that way. Will I return: NO.. glad my son moved into Reno! Have had great customer service all over Fernley, with one other exception.. so happy he has a few SB's that are staffed, very clean, and get the orders correct where he moved.

    * Perfect little caffeine pit stop! *…read more Caught this cute little spot early in the morning on our drive down to San Diego from Reno, and it completely made our day. If you love coffee that actually tastes like coffee (and not liquid sugar), this is your place. My Oat Milk Honey latte was delicious, and my husband's extra strong 4 shot sugar-free latte did exactly what it needed to do for the long drive ahead. The barista who assisted us was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home the second we walked in. The inside is so cozy and peaceful that we decided to stretch our legs and enjoy our drinks at the table rather than rushing back to the car. Definitely recommend stopping by if you're passing through!

There are many individual bagged coffees to choose from. This shop is on the 395 in Walker. Lots of parking in front with plenty of seating inside to relax and enjoy your cup of joe. There is also outside seating as well. We ordered a cappuccino and ice coffee. The coffee is bold and smooth, no hidden flavors detected. The shop has some breakfast and lunch offerings as well as a few different baked goods. They also have a clean restroom for customers, as every good coffee shop should. Walker Coffee Company also has a gift store/fly fishing vibe with hats, shirts, cups, and fly fishing equipment. I also noticed a sign for fly fishing guide service. The shop was extremely clean and the staff very welcoming. This is a must stop when traveling through Walker! Their Summer hours are 7 days a week 7 am - 5pm.

On a road trip from Las Vegas to Reno, this location on the northern outskirts of Hawthorne,…read moreNevada, is roughly 5-5.5 hours into the drive. With ample parking in a compacted gravel lot, it's located off the south bound side of Hwy 95. The sign at the roadside says "4.9 Star Restaurant" then "Bighorn Crossing" on the next line. The building is clearly marked, and the speed limit on this stretch is 35mph, so it's easily located. The entire place is clean, tidy, and exactly what you want for a food stop in a "frontier" county (ask Tony). "Yelpers" have never steered me wrong, and this gem overlooking the Walker Lake lives up to the hype! The food is top notch - fresh, flavorful and better than anything else offered between Reno and Vegas. Seriously. Korean style bowls and American burgers fill the menu, with some excellent beverage options, and optional "spiking," for those not driving. Bonus is the conversation with Tony: owner, professional chef, county commissioner and conservationist. He's happy to explain the challenges facing the area, especially pertaining to abused water supply from the corporate farms upriver, if you ask. Please inquire! Thanks Tony and Matthew, for an amazing meal, comfortable atmosphere and stimulating conversation. See you on the next trip!

There's easy parking out front, both indoor and outdoor seating, and a modern, clean interior with a great EDM soundtrack playing in the background. The service was very attentive. I tried the Korean BBQ tacos, which were flavorful and satisfying. My only criticism is that I would have preferred to be served on an actual plate rather than in a to-go box while dining in. If you're passing through the area, this place is worth seeking out for a good meal.
