Best raw milk you will ever drink! Real cream and buttermilk. Along with farm-raised meat.

We had five wine and cheese courses, in addition to the introductory wine and cheese to "warm us up." The space is warm and open. Tons of open coolers to check out cheeses and wines after. We paid almost 200 dollars for two people to have wine, cheese, a charcuterie and crusty bread board (optional). So about 100 bucks a person. I thought this was a reasonable value and we had such a great time. Keep in mind, this is was you make of it . . . the more questions you ask, the more you will learn. We learned about politics in cheese, cheese thievery, under-appreciated cheeses that smell like gym socks, but taste like a dream. A very laid back and congenial environment. We definitely plan on returning to shop! And they have a "girl scout and cheese pairing" class every April that I can't wait to try next year! As far as people complaining about parking, not sure what they are talking about. There is a commercial parking lot out front and the first two hours are free.

The cheese was delicious and it was cool to try some new ones I wouldn't normally eat. The wine pairings were delicious, I loved the white wines the best. This event was really fun! Just had a few gripes that didn't quite make it a five star experience…read more The location is in the middle of nowhere Germantown. It was very industrialized and a bit hard to find, but we made it. We ended up paying double for the VIP tickets, so we received the following: drank and sampled cheese an hour early, received a cooler bag, had $10.00 worth of vouchers to spend inside, and had access to a VIP area with tables, food, and our own bar. It was HOT the day of the event and I was very glad I dressed appropriately. To give the organizers credit, they did send an email saying that it was going to be a hot one as a warning. I liked being able to take my time and sample around before it got super busy, but overall... I think VIP is overrated. Maybe the festival has been extremely packed in years past, but I didn't feel that it was that crowded this year. I think the key to getting your money's worth is to get there RIGHT on time if not 5-10 minutes early so you can dive right in. They did start getting short on some things (like the sparkling wine) but I was plenty full and tipsy as the event wound down. I had a great time, and would not suggest eating before you come. I almost ate lunch but am glad I didn't. Those samples add up quickly! Overall, this was a fantastic event and I look forward to enjoying it next year!

I really wanted to love this... yet I was so incredibly disappointed…read more The idea and (most of) the cheese purveyors are awesome- but the follow through was horrible. The people behind planning this need to make some serious changes. First, the good. A lot of the cheese was really good. There was a wide selection and the beer selections were great too- yazoo, fat bottoms and the cider place was great. The problems: 1) It is so incredibly hot. This is an issue they could fix. They do it in an old abandoned/type building that is concrete. They didnt open any of the back windows and didnt have any fans. It was like a sitting hot box for the summer. They could have picked a different (air conditioned) venue or opened all the windows or provided more fans. The issue was that it was so hot that all the cheese began sweating. Cheese does not do well when its left out anyways, but when you put it under extremely hot conditions it does event worse. 2) Wine. By 3:30 (when general admission started at 3:00) the wine merchant began pouring less than an ounce and apologize because they said they were almost out of wine. It was fine for my husband who loves beer, but yazoo's line was completely empty while the wine line was swarmed to get an ounce. 3) They started closing at just after 5pm. I felt bad for all those people who purchased the economy tickets who couldnt come till 4:30. A lot of places were sold out, packed up or left by after 5. 4) All the cheese purveyors ran out of selling cheese. I went to try cheeses and buy cheeses. By 4pm almost all the good cheese people were completely out. I really wanted to love this. Probably one of my top things to get anywhere is a good cheese plate. It was so disappointing.

Her and her husband transplanted in Nashville a number of years ago from Massachusetts where they had a previous farm. At the Farmer's Market, they have a large number of cuts for sell along with different types of sheep's milk cheese! This is what I was sold on. She allows you to sample the cheese along with their different lamb jerkies. They do have award winning cheese that, of course, they had sold out of for the day when I was there. I was personally attracted to their garlic peppercorn cheese, I purchased their ground lamb and the peppercorn cheese to take home. I have never prepared lamb at home, so as a starter, I thought I would try something low key then work my way up to some of their other type cuts. They literally sell every part of the animal and for the pricing - you really get a decent deal. Please check out some of the photos I took. I really thought this was useful for someone who is not as informed about lamb cuts. It really helped me out and with that information, it helps me absorb what I hope to eat in the near future. You are able to order from them online, too.

Another rare five-star review but this place definitely deserved every star!…read more I learned about the little taco shop in the back from an Instagram post and convinced my husband that we needed to give it a try. First off, plenty of parking. Bonus. When you walk into the store, everything smells clean and fresh. The grocery section is well organized. The produce section is overflowing with fresh veggies that are well-priced. You can find most everything you are looking for at a grocery store. In the back of the store, they have a deli and a little taco shop. There are tables and chairs, so you can eat there or take your food to go. My husband got two Quesabirria Tacos and a side of rice and beans. I ordered three street-style tacos: Carnitas, Barbaco and Pescado, which was grilled. I also ordered a side of plantains. Throw in a bottle of water and the total bill was $31. There was so much food that I had to take the rice and beans, 2 tacos and my plantains home. I just could not eat any more! They have housemade salsa that they sell in pint containers. The Salsa Verde was so delicious that I have been putting it on all my food this past week. It's spicy but not overpowering. I'm going back just to get more of that salsa! Reading the comments from the Instragram post, people told the IG poster not to give away locals' secrets. This definitely is a hidden gem!

Located in Madison Square shopping plaza on Gallatin a few blocks from downtown Madison, Garden…read moreFresh Food Market is a small but mighty spot for all your Latin food needs whether it be packaged or fresh! From the outside, Garden Fresh looks like a big place, but once you walk in, you realize that it is a lot smaller than imagined. Even with a smaller space, they have this placed packed with all the goods from a small produce and veggie section, packaged meat, freezer, rice, dry goods, snacks, drinks, toiletries, etc...and of course they have a meat/seafood counter where you can get the freshest of proteins! I would like a bit more selection of pre-packaged/bulk meats on the shelves as the lines for the meat counter along with the line for the cocina can become overwhelming. While the store is packed with goods, this is a great thing, but also makes it hard to maneuver as the aisles and spaces are pretty small. A lot of "excuse me", "my bad" while shopping. Speaking of the cocina...in the back of the store you will find a small counter where they are slinging the freshest tacos, quesadillas, birria, nachos, tamales and more! While I may not pick up groceries on each visit, I do always make sure to pick up a taco or three to go! If you want to eat in, they do have a few tables as well. Service is always friendly and they are staffed well, notably for the busier times...which is more times than not, especially on the weekends! Condition of the store is decent. The shopping plaza is pretty unsavory, but once you get inside you are good and things turn around! Overall, great spot in Madison!
