The food, the service and more importantly the ambiance all need work at Country Waffles. With Waffles in the name of the restaurant, one would expect their waffles to be deliciously outstanding. Wrong! Absolutely one of the worst dining experiences I've had. The food was disgusting, cold, flavorless, and looked like it had been sitting out far too long. The service was unbelievably slow and careless, with staff acting annoyed to even do the bare minimum. The manager shouting throughout the restaurant which is very disrupting. To make matters worse, the entire restaurant had an unpleasant, dirty atmosphere that made it hard to feel comfortable eating there. Nothing about this place was enjoyable. Very unprofessional and unpleasant restaurant. Completely overpriced for the terrible quality and experience. I would never return and would strongly discourage anyone from wasting their money here. read more

We were going to an event on the west side of Woodland so decided to try Country Waffles for breakfast. I had noticed it when we had stopped by Raleys a few weeks back. We arrived a little after 9 a.m. on a Saturday. The restaurant had quite a few customers already, but we were seated right away. We were given a choice of booth or table. We asked for a booth for the extra seating room. I ordered the garden omelette and my husband had the plain waffle. For my starch side dish I ordered the half waffle. The waffles were freshly prepared but mine was a bit raw inside. They had a distinctive vanilla flavor so really didn't need syrup to be tasty. I didn't eat much of the country potatoes because they will be much better heated up in the air fryer at home. The omelette was large, stuffed with vegetables, and quite filling. I brought home more than half. From conversations around us, we could tell that most of the customers were regulars, known to the staff. They were greeted and teased and asked if they wanted their usual. It made me want to live closer so that we could become regulars too. The bathroom was clean and the photos of classic cars on the wall of the hallway leading to the bathrooms was fun to view. read more

This was so disappointing today. We were told about this place from some friends who have been going for years. Our experience was very different than what they described. I ordered the Joe's Scramble. There were three things wrong with it, all of which were deal breakers. First, it was as though a half of a cup of salt was dumped on the left 2/3 of it. Second, it was crunchy. I am guessing (hoping) it was egg shell. Finally, the ground beef was kind of gristly. The meal was completely inedible. It came with a half of a waffle, so I ate that. Our waitress did check in with us, but not until we were all finished with our food. Of course, I did not eat mine. She offered to have it made again, but at that point I really didn't want anything. I felt I had overdosed on sodium just from the first couple of bites. Done. I can handle a bad meal. It happens. I spent years in the restaurant business and I get that. The other two meals at our table were OK. The final problem came when the bill came, which my daughter (a teacher) paid, since it was Mother's Day. I didn't realize until we were long gone that they never made any adjustment to the bill. I should've been charged for the half of a waffle that I ate. But to pay $17 for something that I wouldn't feel safe bringing home to my pooch? That's just wrong. Ordinarily, if I have a bad meal somewhere, I'm willing to go back and give place another try. But today's experience left a bad taste in my mouth, in more ways than one. read more

Me and my girlfriend walked in and were told to wait 15-20 minutes to get a table. We waited 30-40 waiting for a table come to find out they skipped over our name. We get a table we order our food we wait 20 minutes for our food it comes out the wrong order. I have to then wait an additional 20 minutes to get my chicken and waffles and the waitress comes out with the most dried looking chicken I've ever seen. I was done with waiting so I decided to not eat it, send it back and just eat at a fast food place. The manager walks up to us to check on if I'm upset (I wasn't I was just tired of waiting) and she made it seem like everything was our fault. She didn't offer anything to make up for all these mistakes. Definitely will not be returning to this establishment. Maybe if one day I feel like waiting 2 hours for terrible looking food I'll consider coming back. P.S the manager said the chicken and waffles looked "bomb" and that I should've given them a chance. Country Waffles is the best breakfast place I have tried in town. I came here on a Saturday morning and there wasn't much of a wait. I ordered the steak and eggs with sautéed onions and mushrooms. I did not want any potatoes so I ordered a side of tomatoes instead. I ordered my steak medium rare and the steak came out just as I ordered it! Many places would normally overcook my steak but not this time. The sautéed onions and mushrooms definitely made the steak taste better. The service was great and my coffee cup was never empty. Does this look like a sad breakfast? (see photo) Because it is. Very. I called in my order and both my wife and I requested extra crispy hashbrowns. They told me it would be done in 10min, I said "it'll take me 15min to get there so take your time, no hurry." Well, they obviously hurried anyway, because the food is cold (even though I live 5min from the restaurant), and these hashbrowns have seen the griddle for about as long as a rare steak. They are also sopping wet with oil. Disgusting. The restaurant was EMPTY too. So it's not like they had other customers to help. Im really sick of the food never being up to expectations. It makes me sad that my wife likes their benedict so much, otherwise I'd never go back. One of my favorite breakfast dishes is country fried steak, and the one from this joint tastes like it came from a microwaved TV dinner. The food here was amazing! It's the best breakfast I have had at any restaurant in a very long time. A few bites of my husband's meal as well, were very good. Not only was the food delish, but the presentation was phenomenal on all the plates I watched pass my table. Every one looked like it could be used for the menu or advertisement photos. Also, though the place was full, we didn't wait long for a table. Our server came over right away to welcome us once we sat down, and swiftly brought us our drinks.
