I had seen reviews of this restaurant many times in News paper inserts and on Yelp and had wanted to try it because everyone raved about their homemade deserts and pies. Now when it comes to Pie, Pie and I have a thing going on and it's not just a spring fling or a summer thang... it's complicated at best... lol I make my own pies during the holidays and grew up going to Pennsylvania Dutch Country where Pies have a food group all of their own. We started our meal with healthy intentions by all 3 of us, my husband, son and myself ordering the Fried Chicken Tender Salads. They were loaded with fresh veggies and grated cheese with a choice of delicious homemade dressings to choose from that were just superb! I tried the ranch and the honey mustard!!! They served hot fresh rolls straight from the oven served with a friendly smile! The chicken was juicy inside and crispy on the outside. My son and I both ordered a piece of Homemade Chocolate Pie that came out in a huge slice topped high with a baked meringue on top. It was sweet, chocolatey and delicious! It fulfilled my Pie Great Expectations in every way! I am looking forward to coming back many times in the future to soak up more of their friendly southern hospitality, try their famous Meat and Pick 3 menu and let's not forget, More PIE!!! We moved out to this area in the spring time this year and drive by the restaurant frequently. We noticed the high rate of customers going in and out and decided to try the food ourselves. The restaurant is quaint and overall has a nice family friendly environment, though very dated. The majority of customers(I'd say AT LEAST 90%) were elderly couples. The menu was kind of over all over the place, to find your choices of sides you had to look at a totally different page.... oh and they consider macaroni and cheese to be a vegetable, I'm dead serious. My husband ordered a steak and I ordered hand battered chicken tenders, our kids got the preseasoned tenders with veggies. My husbands steak lacked in flavor and a third was inedible fat. My tenders were absolutely tasteless, just crunchy. The wavy fries are basically fries they bought prepackaged and heated up and if I had to pick a favorite food item I'd say it was the Heinz ketchup that gave me SOME kind of flavor from my otherwise tasteless dish. The girls' preseasoned tenders were dry and they didnt touch them, the buttered corn tasted like old watered down mush that faintly resembled corn. Overall we were SHOCKED by the lack of flavor in everything. Were assuming the lack of seasoning is necessary for the senior citizens who frequent the joint. We also ordered a slice of coconut, key lime and apple pie. The pies were decent, for 7$ a slice you're getting roughly a quarter slice of a small/medium size pie. If I had to come back it would be for the coconut and maybe the lime... however it would be a very long time before I step foot in there again. This meal cost us $80+ and we left hungry, disappointed and my husband spent a good 20 minutes on the toilet afterwards. Oh and service is iffy too, our original waitress was nowhere in sight, had to keep searching for her and eventually had to get up and help ourselves to napkins and things. They had a lot of dessert options, which I wanted but was way too full to try. My first visit, parking lot was packed, that should tell you something. Inside is not that large but we were seated immediately. A VERY large selection of food to choose from. Didn't take long to get our meal. You get 1 meat and 3 vegetables. Portions are more than enough. I must have seen a half a dozen people getting 'to go' plates. Another large selection of deserts, really looked good but no way after the more than ample meal. Everyone was very nice, friendly and professional. I really wanted this to be amazing. I got a recommendation from Yelp, and I read the reviews, and my wife LOVES pie. This place has so many pies listed. We trekked all the way to the distant land of Ooltewah, some 40 minutes from home to try this place out. The service was...weird. Everyone was super friendly, but we had two waitresses tag-teaming the table, which seemed to cause confusion as opposed to efficiency. We split the fried flounder sandwich and the fried chicken sandwich. The fried chicken sandwich is a HUGE slab of fried chicken on a regular sized bun. The appearance is daunting. Overall good flavor for chicken, but as a sandwich ho hum. "Everything on it" ended up meaning nothing on it, then getting a plate of things to put on it, and giving up on getting mayo to put on it. The fish was fantastic, and I really enjoyed the tarter sauce, thought my wife did not. The tater tots were unexceptional, the fried okra and sliced sweet potatoes were great. I regret not trying more sides. The entire meal I kept looking at the dry-erase board thinking, "Man. I am going get my favorite, cherry cobbler." Then I ordered it...and there was none. I feel like the dry-erase technology could be leveraged better here, as that was a huge disappointment. We ended up getting 4 pieces of pie to go (buy 1 get 1 free!) I enjoyed the sweet potato, pecan, and egg something or other... my wife didn't like any of the pies. Overall, if I were nearby (which is unlikely, it's pretty out of the way) I would absolutely go here again, but I wouldn't drive across the river just to do it. read more

I went twice in tree days ordered the same thing and got the same result. It was ribeye with mashed potatoes and fried okra my family loved the colored greens and slaw.
