Went to have breakfast after running my bus route. Order steak and eggs. I wanted steak cooked medium and the eggs scrambled. Well the steak arrived and parts of it were red not pink and uncooked and the eggs I got were medium fried. This place has issues, and I see why sales are down. The waitress did ask if I wanted a to go box but never why I didn't finish the steak!!!!!!! I had a more than pleasant time here. I arrived just before closing and spent the night in the RV in their parking lot. It is much appreciated that Cracker Barrel supports RVers by allowing us to use their lot for free. We just have to be respectful and leave the place as nice as when we arrived. I did that. In the morning, a lovely breakfast. Eggs, bacon, coffee. No biscuits or hash brown casserole because I'm sticking to a keto diet. No carbs! Service was pleasant. The restaurant is clean. The "front porch" was tidy with tables and rocking chairs and a checkers game. Inside, the restroom was in good shape. Overall, a good experience. We started going to Cracker Barrel again. I have been there maybe 3 times in the past two months all different locations. Meh. After 5 years of not going there you would think they must have improved something to keep customers. A friend and I ordered the same meal. They couldn't get that right but made it right. Another restaurant had so much dust we couldn't stop sneezing. The dust in the corner was so thick above our heads it was about 1" thick in spots. I guess if it is out of reach it doesn't get cleaned. They have added alcohol to the menu, perhaps that will help you forget how bad the service is. But we don't drink so unfortunately we remember. I am sure some will say it was different before Covid, but no, it just never improved. We will still eat there if there is no other option. Sorry we are so negative but these restaurants have a lot of potential. Maybe someone will read this and understand why we avoid this restaurant chain. Since they got the rainbow trout dinner n us being in Keto, this has become our go to restaurant. We get the broccoli n the salad with no pig( unclean) and no croutons. We take our own herbs since their dressings all have GMOed SUGAR! I ask for lemon n use about 1 T n vinegar3T n oil 3T and we add a bit of oregano 1/8 tsp n garlic 1 tsp n sea salt to taste n a tad of pepper and it's a wonderful dressing. And we get Lots of butter melted on the fish n broccoli. And we have ourselves a nice nutritious n Keto meal. That trout is so good! Yummy! Too bad it didn't come with more than 2 little pieces of trout though! But we always need omega 3. We hate fishy fish so that's why we get this when we go out! Had an okay experience at this Cracker Barrel. Our waiter was extremely polite and service was extremely fast. Like most Cracker Barrels, it's good bang for your buck. I got the fried chicken platter (half a chicken) for about $12. Came with two sides; I got the fried apples and the corn. Fried apples were good and sweet and cinnamony. I wouldn't recommend the corn, as it is probably straight out of a can. Chicken was good but a little bit too soggy for my liking. Store clean as usual store staff friendly and welcoming. Waitress was great checked on us multiple times and offered suggestions. Hostess and food would receive a 2 star at best from me. Hostess receives a 1 star she never spoke never welcomed us just grabbed 2 menus and walked to a table we said thank you, still no sound or emotion from her never told us who would wait on us . Nothing but crickets. Food, I have a go to food as we frequent CB often and love the standard CB had always lived up to and Cleveland TN is our home CB. My go to is Chicken and Dumplings with three sides, this visit the sides were good at best the chicken and dumplings were terrible all dumplings and a single sliver of chicken. I hope as we live this place that this is not the new standard and some one does some training on what type of personality is needed as "the first impression person" a hostess/ host requires. I placed this order online, and unfortunately, it did not go directly to the Cracker Barrel website, but instead, Uber eats. Therefore, when I went to pick it up, I had to go inside to retrieve it instead of using the car pick up service. The meal was ready at 11:50, but it was not brought out to me until 1230. Cracker Barrel is a Southern staple of where to find and get good southern comfort food. It is generally great for breakfast, lunch and or dinner. This particulat location is decent. The hospitality and service are great and excellent for the dine in experience. The food can sometime be mediocur. If you wanted to judge covid restriction compliance in this part of Tennessee you need not go further than this place on a Saturday evening. Despite the face covering requirement on the door only about half had anything on. It looked like Cracker Barrel had given up or maybe had never tried in the first place. Other than that my carry out order came out rather quick for how busy they were. Food was tasty. Both of us ordered a safe roasted chicken dish with a couple of sides which were okay. I'm home visiting my mum for the holidays and we wanted to stay safe with the Covid numbers skyrocketing here in Cleveland, so we ordered take out online, two different times. Both times, I arrived to pick up my order and had to wait almost a half hour, roughly 20+ minutes *after* the scheduled pickup time, before the order was finished and ready to go. This review, however, is for the second trip: I placed my order online, used a gift card, and received a confirmation and receipt. Shortly thereafter, I received an email letting me know that my payment was not processed and I would need to pay at pickup. No problem. When I got to the store, I spoke with the manager who informed me that they held off making my order because of the payment issue. He was even kind to let me change my order as the online service said that two of the Thursday veggies were not available. I ordered two vegetable plates and thought nothing of having to wait a bit extra because the vegetables are easy enough to come from the kitchen. I waited almost 30 minutes before my order came out. 30 minutes! When I got home about 15 minutes later, the vegetable plates were depressing-looking and not appealing whatsoever. The food was lukewarm, at best. The cornbread dressing was scattered across the well of the plate like a demolished sand castle. The "sweet potato casserole" was nothing more than warmed up baby food. On the plus side, the cornbread muffins were tasty, as expected, and not burned. This was the worst meal we've ever had from Cracker Barrel. The entire experience was utterly disappointing. I don't know what it is with Cracker Barrel lately- and really a lot of chain restaurants- but their take out experience is completely lacking. The food itself wasn't the greatest, but the wait time for food that is supposed to be ready by a certain time is ridiculous. Our name was called and we went to the hostess stand. The gentleman told the young lady table 243. We sat and was greeted within a reasonable amount of time. Our drink orders were taken and I asked for milk and orange juice. I was brought OJ. No problem I'll get it later. But the I ran out of OJ and our waitress walked by our table 3 times, twice to the table next to us, 1. Taking their drink order and 2. Bringing their drink order. All 3 times she never once asked if i needed a refill. They can't control the food but drinks are definitely something they do have full control over. I actually started timing from the 2nd time she was at the table beside us how long before she checked on us and it was 22 minutes before she returned and it was to bring our food. A lady at the table beside us asked another employee that was walking around with with a tablet to bring her more coffee. So apparently, this is an issue with the particular waitress. read more

We had a darling server, who was not backed up by her manager or kitchen staff. After waiting an hour since ordering we changed our order to go. But then was informed that they just started making our food, so we told them never mind and tipped the server instead. The manager mumbled some kind of apology. If there is a staffing shortage - they shouldn't open as many tables. I feel bad for the folks who work there under bad direction whether it's a corporate thing or a management thing. I stopped in to give their fried chicken try and was so disappointed on several different levels. The very first thing that disappointed me was the fact that when I asked for all legs, I was told that they couldn't do that. That if they did it for me, that's would have to do it for everyone. Then when my order came out the dissatisfaction continued. I found that the chicken was way over cooked d the breading tastes awful. So bad that I couldn't even finish my meal. We arrived at 7pm and didn't leave until 9 because it took so long to get our food. We waited and hour and half to get the food and had to ask the waitress five times for biscuits even after we got our food. The eggs were dry and crusty, the bacon was old and undercooked, and all of the food was cold and I could tell it sat under a heat lamp for a long time. The kids hamburger was so burnt it was hard as a rock and we had to have it taken off the bill because it was was so bad they couldn't eat it. The bathrooms were soaking wet because someone vomited in the bathroom floor. They cleaned it with a water hose, but they sprayed the toilets with water too and there was wet toilet paper all over the sides and front of the toilets. First of all, I love Cracker Barrel. Secondly, I know this was likely an isolated incident. Where do I start. We waited a while to get seated, which is understandable for a Friday night. We sat down and got comfy. The waitress came over and got our drink orders. She immediately came back and said her assistant was getting our drinks and she wanted to take our order. Okay, let me quickly look through the menu. Well, we ordered and waited. The food finally arrived and one of our hamburger steaks was without onions and it was over cooked. The waitress started talking about the cooks and blah blah blah. The food was sent back and the then she brought out a replacement. When she did she was obviously eating something, which is a health code violation, and then she burped while she was taking to us. At that point I was done.
